قَالَ الْمَلَاُ الَّذِيْنَ اسْتَكْبَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يٰشُعَيْبُ وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَكَ مِنْ قَرْيَتِنَآ اَوْ لَتَعُوْدُنَّ فِيْ مِلَّتِنَاۗ قَالَ اَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَارِهِيْنَ ٨٨

ID Translation Pemuka-pemuka dan kaum Syu'aib yang menyombongkan dan berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami akan mengusir kamu hai Syu'aib dan orang-orang yang beriman bersamamu dari kota kami, atau kamu kembali kepada agama kami". Berkata Syu'aib: "Dan apakah (kamu akan mengusir kami), kendatipun kami tidak menyukainya?"

EN Translation Said the great ones among his people, who gloried in their arrogance: "Most certainly, O Shu'ayb, we shall expel thee and thy fellow-believers from our land, unless you indeed return to our ways!" Said [Shu'ayb]: "Why, even though we abhor [them]?

قَدِ افْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًا اِنْ عُدْنَا فِيْ مِلَّتِكُمْ بَعْدَ اِذْ نَجّٰىنَا اللّٰهُ مِنْهَاۗ وَمَا يَكُوْنُ لَنَآ اَنْ نَّعُوْدَ فِيْهَآ اِلَّآ اَنْ يَّشَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّنَاۗ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًاۗ عَلَى اللّٰهِ تَوَكَّلْنَاۗ رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَاَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِيْنَ ٨٩

ID Translation Sungguh kami mengada-adakan kebohongan yang benar terhadap Allah, jika kami kembali kepada agamamu, sesudah Allah melepaskan kami dari padanya. Dan tidaklah patut kami kembali kepadanya, kecuali jika Allah, Tuhan kami menghendaki(nya). Pengetahuan Tuhan kami meliputi segala sesuatu. Kepada Allah sajalah kami bertawakkal. Ya Tuhan kami, berilah keputusan antara kami dan kaum kami dengan hak (adil) dan Engkaulah Pemberi keputusan yang sebaik-baiknya.

EN Translation We should be guilty of blaspheming against God were we to return to your ways after God has saved us from them! It is not conceivable that we should return to them-unless God, our Sustainer, so wills. All things does our Sustainer embrace within His knowledge; in God do we place our trust. O our Sustainer! Lay Thou open the truth between us and our people -for Thou art the best of all to lay open the truth!”

وَقَالَ الْمَلَاُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ لَىِٕنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا ِانَّكُمْ اِذًا لَّخٰسِرُوْنَ ٩٠

ID Translation Pemuka-pemuka kaum Syu'aib yang kafir berkata (kepada sesamanya): "Sesungguhnya jika kamu mengikuti Syu'aib, tentu kamu jika berbuat demikian (menjadi) orang-orang yang merugi".

EN Translation But the great ones among his people, who were bent on denying the truth, said [to his followers]: "Indeed, if you follow Shu'ayb, you will, verily, be the losers!"

فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَاَصْبَحُوْا فِيْ دَارِهِمْ جٰثِمِيْنَۙ ٩١

ID Translation Kemudian mereka ditimpa gempa, maka jadilah mereka mayat-mayat yang bergelimpangan di dalam rumah-rumah mereka,

EN Translation Thereupon an earthquake overtook them: and then they lay lifeless, in their very homes, on the ground -

الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا شُعَيْبًا كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيْهَاۚ اَلَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا شُعَيْبًا كَانُوْا هُمُ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ ٩٢

ID Translation (yaitu) orang-orang yang mendustakan Syu'aib seolah-olah mereka belum pernah berdiam di kota itu; orang-orang yang mendustakan Syu'aib mereka itulah orang-orang yang merugi.

EN Translation they who had given the lie to Shu'ayb - as though they had never lived there: they who had given the lie to Shu'ayb -it was they who were the losers!

فَتَوَلّٰى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يٰقَوْمِ لَقَدْ اَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسٰلٰتِ رَبِّيْ وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْۚ فَكَيْفَ اٰسٰى عَلٰى قَوْمٍ كٰفِرِيْنَ ٩٣

ID Translation Maka Syu'aib meninggalkan mereka seraya berkata: "Hai kaumku, sesungguhnya aku telah menyampaikan kepadamu amanat-amanat Tuhanku dan aku telah memberi nasehat kepadamu. Maka bagaimana aku akan bersedih hati terhadap orang-orang yang kafir?"

EN Translation And he turned away from them, and said: "O my people! Indeed, I delivered unto you my Sustainer's message and gave you good advice: how, then, could I mourn for people who have denied the truth?"

وَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَا فِيْ قَرْيَةٍ مِّنْ نَّبِيٍّ اِلَّآ اَخَذْنَآ اَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاۤءِ وَالضَّرَّاۤءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُوْنَ ٩٤

ID Translation Kami tidaklah mengutus seseorang nabipun kepada sesuatu negeri, (lalu penduduknya mendustakan nabi itu), melainkan Kami timpakan kepada penduduknya kesempitan dan penderitaan supaya mereka tunduk dengan merendahkan diri.

EN Translation AND NEVER YET have We sent a prophet unto any community without trying its people with misfortune and hardship, so that they might humble themselves;

ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتّٰى عَفَوْا وَّقَالُوْا قَدْ مَسَّ اٰبَاۤءَنَا الضَّرَّاۤءُ وَالسَّرَّاۤءُ فَاَخَذْنٰهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَّهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ٩٥

ID Translation Kemudian Kami ganti kesusahan itu dengan kesenangan hingga keturunan dan harta mereka bertambah banyak, dan mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya nenek moyang kamipun telah merasai penderitaan dan kesenangan", maka Kami timpakan siksaan atas mereka dengan sekonyong-konyong sedang mereka tidak menyadarinya.

EN Translation then We transformed the affliction into ease of life, so that they throve and said [to themselves], "Misfortune and hardship befell our forefathers as well -whereupon We took them to task, all of a sudden, without their being aware [of what was coming].

وَلَوْ اَنَّ اَهْلَ الْقُرٰٓى اٰمَنُوْا وَاتَّقَوْا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَرَكٰتٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَلٰكِنْ كَذَّبُوْا فَاَخَذْنٰهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَكْسِبُوْنَ ٩٦

ID Translation Jikalau sekiranya penduduk negeri-negeri beriman dan bertakwa, pastilah Kami akan melimpahkan kepada mereka berkah dari langit dan bumi, tetapi mereka mendustakan (ayat-ayat Kami) itu, maka Kami siksa mereka disebabkan perbuatannya.

EN Translation Yet if the people of those communities had but attained to faith and been conscious of Us, We would indeed have opened up for them blessings out of heaven and earth: but they gave the lie to the truth - and so We took them to task through what they [themselves] had been doing.

اَفَاَمِنَ اَهْلُ الْقُرٰٓى اَنْ يَّأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا وَّهُمْ نَاۤىِٕمُوْنَۗ ٩٧

ID Translation Maka apakah penduduk negeri-negeri itu merasa aman dari kedatangan siksaan Kami kepada mereka di malam hari di waktu mereka sedang tidur?

EN Translation Can, then, the people of any community ever feel secure that Our punishment will not come upon them by night, while they are asleep?

اَوَاَمِنَ اَهْلُ الْقُرٰٓى اَنْ يَّأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَّهُمْ يَلْعَبُوْنَ ٩٨

ID Translation Atau apakah penduduk negeri-negeri itu merasa aman dari kedatangan siksaan Kami kepada mereka di waktu matahari sepenggalahan naik ketika mereka sedang bermain?

EN Translation Why, can the people of any community ever feel secure that Our punishment will not come upon them in broad daylight, while they are engaged in (worldly] play?

اَفَاَمِنُوْا مَكْرَ اللّٰهِۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللّٰهِ اِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ ٩٩

ID Translation Maka apakah mereka merasa aman dari azab Allah (yang tidak terduga-duga)? Tiada yang merasa aman dan azab Allah kecuali orang-orang yang merugi.

EN Translation Can they, then, ever feel secure from God's deep devising? But none feels secure from God's deep devising save people who are [already] lost.

اَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِيْنَ يَرِثُوْنَ الْاَرْضَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ اَهْلِهَآ اَنْ لَّوْ نَشَاۤءُ اَصَبْنٰهُمْ بِذُنُوْبِهِمْۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَ ١٠٠

ID Translation Dan apakah belum jelas bagi orang-orang yang mempusakai suatu negeri sesudah (lenyap) penduduknya, bahwa kalau Kami menghendaki tentu Kami azab mereka karena dosa-dosanya; dan Kami kunci mati hati mereka sehingga mereka tidak dapat mendengar (pelajaran lagi)?

EN Translation Has it, then, not become obvious unto those who have inherited the earth in the wake of former generations that, if We so willed, We could smite them [too] by means of their sins, sealing their hearts so that they cannot hear [the truth]?

تِلْكَ الْقُرٰى نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ اَنْۢبَاۤىِٕهَاۚ وَلَقَدْ جَاۤءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنٰتِۚ فَمَا كَانُوْا لِيُؤْمِنُوْا بِمَا كَذَّبُوْا مِنْ قَبْلُۗ كَذٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ١٠١

ID Translation Negeri-negeri (yang telah Kami binasakan) itu, Kami ceritakan sebagian dari berita-beritanya kepadamu. Dan sungguh telah datang kepada mereka rasul-rasul mereka dengan membawa bukti-bukti yang nyata, maka mereka (juga) tidak beriman kepada apa yang dahulunya mereka telah mendustakannya. Demikianlah Allah mengunci mata hati orang-orang kafir.

EN Translation Unto those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We [now] relate unto thee -there had indeed come apostles of their own with all evidence of the truth; but they would not believe in anything to which they had once given the lie: thus it is that God seals the hearts of those who deny the truth;

وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِاَكْثَرِهِمْ مِّنْ عَهْدٍۚ وَاِنْ وَّجَدْنَآ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفٰسِقِيْنَ ١٠٢

ID Translation Dan Kami tidak mendapati kebanyakan mereka memenuhi janji. Sesungguhnya Kami mendapati kebanyakan mereka orang-orang yang fasik.

EN Translation and in most of them We found no [inner] bond with anything that is right -and most of them We found to be iniquitous indeed.

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ مُّوْسٰى بِاٰيٰتِنَآ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَا۟ىِٕهٖ فَظَلَمُوْا بِهَاۚ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ١٠٣

ID Translation Kemudian Kami utus Musa sesudah rasul-rasul itu dengan membawa ayat-ayat Kami kepada Fir'aun dan pemuka-pemuka kaumnya, lalu mereka mengingkari ayat-ayat itu. Maka perhatikanlah bagaimana akibat orang-orang yang membuat kerusakan.

EN Translation AND AFTER those [early people] We sent Moses with Our messages unto Pharaoh and his great ones, and they wilfully rejected them: and behold what happened in the end to those spreaders of corruption!

وَقَالَ مُوْسٰى يٰفِرْعَوْنُ اِنِّيْ رَسُوْلٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ ١٠٤

ID Translation Dan Musa berkata: "Hai Fir'aun, sesungguhnya aku ini adalah seorang utusan dari Tuhan semesta alam,

EN Translation And Moses said: "O Pharaoh! Verily, I am an apostle from the Sustainer of all the worlds,

حَقِيْقٌ عَلٰٓى اَنْ لَّآ اَقُوْلَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ اِلَّا الْحَقَّۗ قَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ فَاَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ ۗ ١٠٥

ID Translation wajib atasku tidak mengatakan sesuatu terhadap Allah, kecuali yang hak. Sesungguhnya aku datang kepadamu dengan membawa bukti yang nyata dari Tuhanmu, maka lepaskanlah Bani Israil (pergi) bersama aku".

EN Translation so constituted that I cannot say anything about God but the truth. I have now come unto you with a clear evidence from your Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with me!"

قَالَ اِنْ كُنْتَ جِئْتَ بِاٰيَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَآ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ١٠٦

ID Translation Fir'aun menjawab: "Jika benar kamu membawa sesuatu bukti, maka datangkanlah bukti itu jika (betul) kamu termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation Said [Pharaoh]: "If thou hast come with a sign, produce it-if thou art a man of truth!"

فَاَلْقٰى عَصَاهُ فَاِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ۖ ١٠٧

ID Translation Maka Musa menjatuhkan tongkat-nya, lalu seketika itu juga tongkat itu menjadi ular yang sebenarnya.

EN Translation Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible;

وَّنَزَعَ يَدَهٗ فَاِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاۤءُ لِلنّٰظِرِيْنَ ١٠٨

ID Translation Dan ia mengeluarkan tangannya, maka ketika itu juga tangan itu menjadi putih bercahaya (kelihatan) oleh orang-orang yang melihatnya.

EN Translation and he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders.

قَالَ الْمَلَاُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَسٰحِرٌ عَلِيْمٌۙ ١٠٩

ID Translation Pemuka-pemuka kaum Fir'aun berkata: "Sesungguhnya Musa ini adalah ahli sihir yang pandai,

EN Translation The great ones among Pharaoh's people said: "Verily, this is indeed a sorcerer of great knowledge,

يُّرِيْدُ اَنْ يُّخْرِجَكُمْ مِّنْ اَرْضِكُمْ ۚ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُوْنَ ١١٠

ID Translation yang bermaksud hendak mengeluarkan kamu dari negerimu". (Fir'aun berkata): "Maka apakah yang kamu anjurkan?"

EN Translation who wants to drive you out of your land! " [Said Pharaoh:] "What, then, do you advise?"

قَالُوْآ اَرْجِهْ وَاَخَاهُ وَاَرْسِلْ فِى الْمَدَاۤىِٕنِ حٰشِرِيْنَۙ ١١١

ID Translation Pemuka-pemuka itu menjawab: "Beri tangguhlah dia dan saudaranya serta kirimlah ke kota-kota beberapa orang yang akan mengumpulkan (ahli-ahli sihir),

EN Translation They answered: "Let him and his brother wait awhile, and send unto all cities heralds

يَأْتُوْكَ بِكُلِّ سٰحِرٍ عَلِيْمٍ ١١٢

ID Translation supaya mereka membawa kepadamu semua ahli sihir yang pandai".

EN Translation who shall bring before thee every sorcerer of great knowledge."

وَجَاۤءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّ لَنَا لَاَجْرًا اِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغٰلِبِيْنَ ١١٣

ID Translation Dan beberapa ahli sihir itu datang kepada Fir'aun mengatakan: "(Apakah) sesungguhnya kami akan mendapat upah, jika kamilah yang menang?"

EN Translation And the sorcerers came unto Pharaoh [and] said: "Verily, we ought to have a great reward if it is we who prevail."

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَاِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ ١١٤

ID Translation Fir'aun menjawab: "Ya, dan sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar akan termasuk orang-orang yang dekat (kepadaku)".

EN Translation Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and, verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me."

قَالُوْا يٰمُوْسٰٓى اِمَّآ اَنْ تُلْقِيَ وَاِمَّآ اَنْ نَّكُوْنَ نَحْنُ الْمُلْقِيْنَ ١١٥

ID Translation Ahli-ahli sihir berkata: "Hai Musa, kamukah yang akan melemparkan lebih dahulu, ataukah kami yang akan melemparkan?"

EN Translation They said: "O Moses! Either thou shalt throw [thy staff first], or we shall [be the first to] throw."

قَالَ اَلْقُوْاۚ فَلَمَّآ اَلْقَوْا سَحَرُوْٓا اَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ وَاسْتَرْهَبُوْهُمْ وَجَاۤءُوْ بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيْمٍ ١١٦

ID Translation Musa menjawab: "Lemparkanlah (lebih dahulu)!" Maka tatkala mereka melemparkan, mereka menyulap mata orang dan menjadikan orang banyak itu takut, serta mereka mendatangkan sihir yang besar (mena'jubkan).

EN Translation He answered: "You throw [first]." And when they threw down [their staffs], they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and struck them with awe, and produced mighty sorcery.

۞ وَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسٰٓى اَنْ اَلْقِ عَصَاكَۚ فَاِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُوْنَۚ ١١٧

ID Translation Dan Kami wahyukan kepada Musa: "Lemparkanlah tongkatmu!". Maka sekonyong-konyong tongkat itu menelan apa yang mereka sulapkan.

EN Translation And [then] We inspired Moses, "Throw down thy staff!" -and lo! it swallowed up all their deceptions:

فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَۚ ١١٨

ID Translation Karena itu nyatalah yang benar dan batallah yang selalu mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation whereupon the truth was established, and vain was proved all that they had been doing.

فَغُلِبُوْا هُنَالِكَ وَانْقَلَبُوْا صٰغِرِيْنَۚ ١١٩

ID Translation Maka mereka kalah di tempat itu dan jadilah mereka orang-orang yang hina.

EN Translation And thus were they vanquished there and then, and became utterly humiliated.

وَاُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سٰجِدِيْنَۙ ١٢٠

ID Translation Dan ahli-ahli sihir itu serta merta meniarapkan diri dengan bersujud.

EN Translation And down fell the sorcerers, prostrating themselves

قَالُوْٓا اٰمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ ١٢١

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Kami beriman kepada Tuhan semesta alam,

EN Translation [and] exclaiming: "We have come to believe in the Sustainer of all the worlds,

رَبِّ مُوْسٰى وَهٰرُوْنَ ١٢٢

ID Translation "(yaitu) Tuhan Musa dan Harun".

EN Translation the Sustainer of Moses and Aaron!"

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ اٰمَنْتُمْ بِهٖ قَبْلَ اَنْ اٰذَنَ لَكُمْۚ اِنَّ هٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوْهُ فِى الْمَدِيْنَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوْا مِنْهَآ اَهْلَهَاۚ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٢٣

ID Translation Fir'aun berkata: "Apakah kamu beriman kepadanya sebelum aku memberi izin kepadamu?, sesungguhnya (perbuatan ini) adalah suatu muslihat yang telah kamu rencanakan di dalam kota ini, untuk mengeluarkan penduduknya dari padanya; maka kelak kamu akan mengetahui (akibat perbuatanmu ini);

EN Translation Said Pharaoh: "Have you come to believe in him ere I have given you permission? Behold, this is indeed a plot which you have cunningly devised in this [my] city in order to drive out its people hence! But in time you shall come to know, [my revenge]:

لَاُقَطِّعَنَّ اَيْدِيَكُمْ وَاَرْجُلَكُمْ مِّنْ خِلَافٍ ثُمَّ لَاُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ ١٢٤

ID Translation demi, sesungguhnya aku akan memotong tangan dan kakimu dengan bersilang secara bertimbal balik, kemudian sungguh-sungguh aku akan menyalib kamu semuanya".

EN Translation most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and then I shall most certainly crucify you, in great numbers, all together! "

قَالُوْٓا اِنَّآ اِلٰى رَبِّنَا مُنْقَلِبُوْنَۙ ١٢٥

ID Translation Ahli-ahli sihir itu menjawab: "Sesungguhnya kepada Tuhanlah kami kembali.

EN Translation They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn-

وَمَا تَنْقِمُ مِنَّآ اِلَّآ اَنْ اٰمَنَّا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاۤءَتْنَا ۗرَبَّنَآ اَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَّتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِيْنَ ١٢٦

ID Translation Dan kamu tidak menyalahkan kami, melainkan karena kami telah beriman kepada ayat-ayat Tuhan kami ketika ayat-ayat itu datang kepada kami". (Mereka berdoa): "Ya Tuhan kami, limpahkanlah kesabaran kepada kami dan wafatkanlah kami dalam keadaan berserah diri (kepada-Mu)".

EN Translation for thou takest vengeance on us only because we have come to believe in our Sustainer's messages as soon as they came to us. O our Sustainer! Shower us with patience in adversity, and make us die as men who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!"

وَقَالَ الْمَلَاُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ اَتَذَرُ مُوْسٰى وَقَوْمَهٗ لِيُفْسِدُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَاٰلِهَتَكَۗ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ اَبْنَاۤءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْيٖ نِسَاۤءَهُمْۚ وَاِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُوْنَ ١٢٧

ID Translation Berkatalah pembesar-pembesar dari kaum Fir'aun (kepada Fir'aun): "Apakah kamu membiarkan Musa dan kaumnya untuk membuat kerusakan di negeri ini (Mesir) dan meninggalkan kamu serta tuhan-tuhanmu?". Fir'aun menjawab: "Akan kita bunuh anak-anak lelaki mereka dan kita biarkan hidup perempuan-perempuan mereka; dan sesungguhnya kita berkuasa penuh di atas mereka".

EN Translation And the great ones among Pharaoh's people said: "Wilt thou allow Moses and his people to spread corruption on earth, and to [cause thy people to] forsake thee and thy gods?" [Pharaoh] replied: "We shall slay their sons in great numbers and shall spare [only] their women: for, verily, we hold sway over them!"

قَالَ مُوْسٰى لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِيْنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَاصْبِرُوْاۚ اِنَّ الْاَرْضَ لِلّٰهِ ۗيُوْرِثُهَا مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهٖۗ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ ١٢٨

ID Translation Musa berkata kepada kaumnya: "Mohonlah pertolongan kepada Allah dan bersabarlah; sesungguhnya bumi (ini) kepunyaan Allah; dipusakakan-Nya kepada siapa yang dihendaki-Nya dari hamba-hamba-Nya. Dan kesudahan yang baik adalah bagi orang-orang yang bertakwa".

EN Translation [And] Moses said unto his people: "Turn unto God for aid, and have patience in adversity. Verily, all the earth belongs to God: He gives it as a heritage - to such as He wills of His servants; and the future belongs to the God-conscious!"

قَالُوْٓا اُوْذِيْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۗقَالَ عَسٰى رَبُّكُمْ اَنْ يُّهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٢٩

ID Translation Kaum Musa berkata: "Kami telah ditindas (oleh Fir'aun) sebelum kamu datang kepada kami dan sesudah kamu datang. Musa menjawab: "Mudah-mudahan Allah membinasakan musuhmu dan menjadikan kamu khalifah di bumi(Nya), maka Allah akan melihat bagaimana perbuatanmu.

EN Translation [But the children of Israel] said: "We have suffered hurt ere thou camest to us and since thou hast come to us!" [Moses] replied: "It may well be that your Sustainer will destroy your foe and make you inherit the earth: and thereupon he will behold how you act."

وَلَقَدْ اَخَذْنَآ اٰلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِيْنَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُوْنَ ١٣٠

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menghukum (Fir'aun dan) kaumnya dengan (mendatangkan) musim kemarau yang panjang dan kekurangan buah-buahan, supaya mereka mengambil pelajaran.

EN Translation And most certainly did We overwhelm Pharaoh's people with drought and scarcity of fruits, so that they might take it to heart.

فَاِذَا جَاۤءَتْهُمُ الْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوْا لَنَا هٰذِهٖ ۚوَاِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَّطَّيَّرُوْا بِمُوْسٰى وَمَنْ مَّعَهٗۗ اَلَآ اِنَّمَا طٰۤىِٕرُهُمْ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٣١

ID Translation Kemudian apabila datang kepada mereka kemakmuran, mereka berkata: "Itu adalah karena (usaha) kami". Dan jika mereka ditimpa kesusahan, mereka lemparkan sebab kesialan itu kepada Musa dan orang-orang yang besertanya. Ketahuilah, sesungguhnya kesialan mereka itu adalah ketetapan dari Allah, akan tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak mengetahui.

EN Translation But whenever good fortune alighted upon them, they would say, "This is [but] our due"; and whenever affliction befell them, they would blame their evil fortune on Moses and those who followed him. Oh, verily, their [evil] fortune had been decreed by God-but most of them knew it not.

وَقَالُوْا مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهٖ مِنْ اٰيَةٍ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَاۙ فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ١٣٢

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Bagaimanapun kamu mendatangkan keterangan kepada kami untuk menyihir kami dengan keterangan itu, maka kami sekali-kali tidak akan beriman kepadamu".

EN Translation And they said [unto Moses]: "Whatever sign thou mayest produce before us in order to cast a spell upon us thereby, we shall not believe thee!"

فَاَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوْفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ اٰيٰتٍ مُّفَصَّلٰتٍۗ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوْا وَكَانُوْا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِيْنَ ١٣٣

ID Translation Maka Kami kirimkan kepada mereka taufan, belalang, kutu, katak dan darah sebagai bukti yang jelas, tetapi mereka tetap menyombongkan diri dan mereka adalah kaum yang berdosa.

EN Translation Thereupon We let loose upon them floods, and [plagues of] locusts, and lice, and frogs, and [water turning into] blood -distinct signs [all]: but they gloried in their arrogance, for they were people lost in sin.

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُوْا يٰمُوْسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَۚ لَىِٕنْ كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ ۚ ١٣٤

ID Translation Dan ketika mereka ditimpa azab (yang telah diterangkan itu) merekapun berkata: "Hai Musa, mohonkanlah untuk kami kepada Tuhamnu dengan (perantaraan) kenabian yang diketahui Allah ada pada sisimu. Sesungguhnya jika kamu dapat menghilangkan azab itu dan pada kami, pasti kami akan beriman kepadamu dan akan kami biarkan Bani Israil pergi bersamamu".

EN Translation And whenever a plague struck them, they would cry: "O Moses, pray for us to thy Sustainer on the strength of the covenant [of prophethood] which He has made with thee! If thou remove this plague from us, we will truly believe in thee. and will let the children of Israel go with thee!"

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ هُمْ بَالِغُوْهُ اِذَا هُمْ يَنْكُثُوْنَ ١٣٥

ID Translation Maka setelah Kami hilangkan azab itu dari mereka hingga batas waktu yang mereka sampai kepadanya, tiba-tiba mereka mengingkarinya.

EN Translation But whenever We removed the plague from them, giving them time to make good their promise, lo, they would break their word.

فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَاَغْرَقْنٰهُمْ فِى الْيَمِّ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَكَانُوْا عَنْهَا غٰفِلِيْنَ ١٣٦

ID Translation Kemudian Kami menghukum mereka, maka Kami tenggelamkan mereka di laut disebabkan mereka mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami dan mereka adalah orang-orang yang melalaikan ayat-ayat Kami itu.

EN Translation And so We inflicted Our retribution on them, and caused them to drown in the sea, because they had given the lie to Our messages and had been heedless of them;

وَاَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِيْنَ كَانُوْا يُسْتَضْعَفُوْنَ مَشَارِقَ الْاَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِيْ بٰرَكْنَا فِيْهَاۗ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنٰى عَلٰى بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَۙ بِمَا صَبَرُوْاۗ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهٗ وَمَا كَانُوْا يَعْرِشُوْنَ ١٣٧

ID Translation Dan Kami pusakakan kepada kaum yang telah ditindas itu, negeri-negeri bahagian timur bumi dan bahagian baratnya yang telah Kami beri berkah padanya. Dan telah sempurnalah perkataan Tuhanmu yang baik (sebagai janji) untuk Bani Israil disebabkan kesabaran mereka. Dan Kami hancurkan apa yang telah dibuat Fir'aun dan kaumnya dan apa yang telah dibangun mereka.

EN Translation whereas unto the people who [in the past] had been deemed utterly low, We gave as their heritage the eastern and western parts of the land that We had blessed. And [thus] thy Sustainer's good promise unto the children of Israel was fulfilled in result of their patience in adversity; whereas We utterly destroyed all that Pharaoh and his people had wrought, and all that they had built.

وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ الْبَحْرَ فَاَتَوْا عَلٰى قَوْمٍ يَّعْكُفُوْنَ عَلٰٓى اَصْنَامٍ لَّهُمْ ۚقَالُوْا يٰمُوْسَى اجْعَلْ لَّنَآ اِلٰهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ اٰلِهَةٌ ۗقَالَ اِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُوْنَ ١٣٨

ID Translation Dan Kami seberangkan Bani Israil ke seberang lautan itu, maka setelah mereka sampai kepada suatu kaum yang tetap menyembah berhala mereka, Bani lsrail berkata: "Hai Musa. buatlah untuk kami sebuah tuhan (berhala) sebagaimana mereka mempunyai beberapa tuhan (berhala)". Musa menjawab: "Sesungguh-nya kamu ini adalah kaum yang tidak mengetahui (sifat-sifat Tuhan)".

EN Translation AND WE BROUGHT the children of Israel across the sea; and thereupon they came upon people who were devoted to the worship of some idols of theirs. Said [the children of Israel]: "O Moses, set up for us a god even as they have gods!" He replied: "Verily, you are people without any awareness [of right and wrong]!

اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَّا هُمْ فِيْهِ وَبٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٣٩

ID Translation Sesungguhnya mereka itu akan dihancurkan kepercayaan yang dianutnya dan akan batal apa yang seIalu mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation As for these here -verily, their way of life is bound to lead to destruction; and worthless is all that they have ever done!"

قَالَ اَغَيْرَ اللّٰهِ اَبْغِيْكُمْ اِلٰهًا وَّهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١٤٠

ID Translation Musa menjawab: "Patutkah aku mencari Tuhan untuk kamu yang selain dari pada Allah, padahal Dialah yang telah melebihkan kamu atas segala umat.

EN Translation [And] he said: "Am I to seek for you a deity other than God, although it is He who has favoured you above all other people?"

وَاِذْ اَنْجَيْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ اٰلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُوْمُوْنَكُمْ سُوْۤءَ الْعَذَابِۚ يُقَتِّلُوْنَ اَبْنَاۤءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُوْنَ نِسَاۤءَكُمْۗ وَفِيْ ذٰلِكُمْ بَلَاۤءٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ عَظِيْمٌ ١٤١

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah hai Bani Israil), ketika Kami menyelamatkan kamu dari (Fir'aun) dan kaumnya, yang mengazab kamu dengan azab yang sangat jahat, yaitu mereka membunuh anak-anak lelakimu dan membiarkan hidup wanita-wanitamu. Dan pada yang demikian itu cobaan yang besar dari Tuhanmu".

EN Translation And [he reminded them of this word of God]: "Lo, We saved you from Pharaoh's people who afflicted you with cruel suffering, slaying your sons in great numbers and sparing [only] your women - which was an awesome trial from your Sustainer."

۞ وَوٰعَدْنَا مُوْسٰى ثَلٰثِيْنَ لَيْلَةً وَّاَتْمَمْنٰهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيْقَاتُ رَبِّهٖٓ اَرْبَعِيْنَ لَيْلَةً ۚوَقَالَ مُوْسٰى لِاَخِيْهِ هٰرُوْنَ اخْلُفْنِيْ فِيْ قَوْمِيْ وَاَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيْلَ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ١٤٢

ID Translation Dan telah Kami janjikan kepada Musa (memberikan Taurat) sesudah berlalu waktu tiga puluh malam, dan Kami sempurnakan jumlah malam itu dengan sepuluh (malam lagi), maka sempurnalah waktu yang telah ditentukan Tuhannya empat puluh malam. Dan berkata Musa kepada saudaranya yaitu Harun: "Gantikanlah aku dalam (memimpin) kaumku, dan perbaikilah, dan janganlah kamu mengikuti jalan orang-orang yang membuat kerusakan".

EN Translation AND [then] We appointed for Moses thirty nights [on Mount Sinai]; and We added to them ten, whereby the term of forty nights set bye, his Sustainer was fulfilled. And Moses said unto his brother Aaron: "Take thou my place among my people; and act righteously, and follow not the path of the spreaders of corruption."

وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ مُوْسٰى لِمِيْقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهٗ رَبُّهٗۙ قَالَ رَبِّ اَرِنِيْٓ اَنْظُرْ اِلَيْكَۗ قَالَ لَنْ تَرٰىنِيْ وَلٰكِنِ انْظُرْ اِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَاِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهٗ فَسَوْفَ تَرٰىنِيْۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلّٰى رَبُّهٗ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهٗ دَكًّا وَّخَرَّ مُوْسٰى صَعِقًاۚ فَلَمَّآ اَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحٰنَكَ تُبْتُ اِلَيْكَ وَاَنَا۠ اَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ١٤٣

ID Translation Dan tatkala Musa datang untuk (munajat dengan Kami) pada waktu yang telah Kami tentukan dan Tuhan telah berfirman (langsung) kepadanya, berkatalah Musa: "Ya Tuhanku, nampakkanlah (diri Engkau) kepadaku agar aku dapat melihat kepada Engkau". Tuhan berfirman: "Kamu sekali-kali tidak sanggup melihat-Ku, tapi lihatlah ke bukit itu, maka jika ia tetap di tempatnya (sebagai sediakala) niscaya kamu dapat melihat-Ku". Tatkala Tuhannya menampakkan diri kepada gunung itu, dijadikannya gunung itu hancur luluh dan Musa pun jatuh pingsan. Maka setelah Musa sadar kembali, dia berkata: "Maha Suci Engkau, aku bertaubat kepada Engkau dan aku orang yang pertama-tama beriman".

EN Translation And when Moses came [to Mount Sinai] at the time set by Us, and his Sustainer spoke unto him, he said: "O my Sustainer! Show [Thyself] unto me, so that I might behold Thee!" Said [God]: "Never canst thou see Me. However, behold this mountain: if it remains firm in its place, then - only then - wilt thou see Me. And as soon as his Sustainer revealed His glory to the mountain, He caused it to crumble to dust; and Moses fell down in a swoon. And when he came to himself, he said: "Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Unto Thee do I turn in repentance; and I shall [always] be the first to believe in Thee!"

قَالَ يٰمُوْسٰٓى اِنِّى اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسٰلٰتِيْ وَبِكَلَامِيْ ۖفَخُذْ مَآ اٰتَيْتُكَ وَكُنْ مِّنَ الشّٰكِرِيْنَ ١٤٤

ID Translation Allah berfirman: "Hai Musa, sesungguhnya Aku memilih (melebihkan) kamu dan manusia yang lain (di masamu) untuk membawa risalah-Ku dan untuk berbicara langsung dengan-Ku, sebab itu berpegang teguhlah kepada apa yang Aku berikan kepadamu dan hendaklah kamu termasuk orang-orang yang bersyukur".

EN Translation Said [God]: "O Moses! Behold, I have raised thee above all people by virtue of the messages which I have entrusted to thee, and by virtue of My speaking [unto thee]: hold fast, therefore, unto what I have vouchsafed thee, and be among the grateful!"

وَكَتَبْنَا لَهٗ فِى الْاَلْوَاحِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَّوْعِظَةً وَّتَفْصِيْلًا لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍۚ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَّأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوْا بِاَحْسَنِهَا ۗسَاُورِيْكُمْ دَارَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ ١٤٥

ID Translation Dan telah Kami tuliskan untuk Musa pada luh-luh (Taurat) segala sesuatu sebagai pelajaran dan penjelasan bagi segala sesuatu; maka (Kami berfirman): "Berpeganglah kepadanya dengan teguh dan suruhlah kaummu berpegang kepada (perintah-perintahnya) dengan sebaik-baiknya, nanti Aku akan memperlihatkan kepadamu negeri orang-orang yang fasik.

EN Translation And We ordained for him in the tablets [of the Law] all manner of admonition, clearly spelling out everything. And [We said:] "Hold fast unto them with [all thy] strength, and bid thy people to hold fast to their most goodly rules." I will show you the way the iniquitous shall go.

سَاَصْرِفُ عَنْ اٰيٰتِيَ الَّذِيْنَ يَتَكَبَّرُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّۗ وَاِنْ يَّرَوْا كُلَّ اٰيَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوْا بِهَاۚ وَاِنْ يَّرَوْا سَبِيْلَ الرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوْهُ سَبِيْلًاۚ وَاِنْ يَّرَوْا سَبِيْلَ الْغَيِّ يَتَّخِذُوْهُ سَبِيْلًاۗ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَكَانُوْا عَنْهَا غٰفِلِيْنَ ١٤٦

ID Translation Aku akan memalingkan orang-orang yang menyombongkan dirinya di muka bumi tanpa alasan yang benar dari tanda-tanda kekuasaan-Ku. Mereka jika melihat tiap-tiap ayat(Ku), mereka tidak beriman kepadanya. Dan jika mereka melihat jalan yang membawa kepada petunjuk, mereka tidak mau menempuhnya, tetapi jika mereka melihat jalan kesesatan, mereka terus memenempuhnya. Yang demikian itu adalah karena mereka mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami dan mereka selalu lalai dari padanya.

EN Translation From My messages shall I cause to turn away all those who, without any right, behave haughtily on earth: for, though they may see every sign [of the truth], they do not believe in it, and though they may see the path of rectitude, they do not choose to follow it-whereas, if they see a path of error, they take it for their own: this, because they have given the lie to Our messages, and have remained heedless of them,"

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَلِقَاۤءِ الْاٰخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ اَعْمَالُهُمْۗ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ اِلَّا مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٤٧

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami dan mendustakan akan menemui akhirat, sia-sialah perbuatan mereka. Mereka tidak diberi balasan selain dari apa yang telah mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation Hence, all who give the lie to Our messages, and [thus] to the truth of the life to come -in vain shall be all their doings: [for] are they to be rewarded for aught but what they were wont to do?

وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوْسٰى مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهٗ خُوَارٌۗ اَلَمْ يَرَوْا اَنَّهٗ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيْهِمْ سَبِيْلًاۘ اِتَّخَذُوْهُ وَكَانُوْا ظٰلِمِيْنَ ١٤٨

ID Translation Dan kaum Musa, setelah kepergian Musa ke gunung Thur membuat dari perhiasan-perhiasan (emas) mereka anak lembu yang bertubuh dan bersuara. Apakah mereka tidak mengetahui bahwa anak lembu itu tidak dapat berbicara dengan mereka dan tidak dapat (pula) menunjukkan jalan kepada mereka? Mereka menjadikannya (sebagai sembahan) dan mereka adalah orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation AND IN his absence the people of Moses took to worshipping the effigy of a calf [made] of their ornaments, which gave forth a lowing sound." Did they not see that it could neither speak unto them nor guide them in any way? [And yet] they took to worshipping it, for they were evildoers:

وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِيْٓ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَرَاَوْا اَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوْاۙ قَالُوْا لَىِٕنْ لَّمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ ١٤٩

ID Translation Dan setelah mereka sangat menyesali perbuatannya dan mengetahui bahwa mereka telah sesat, merekapun berkata: "Sungguh jika Tuhan kami tidak memberi rahmat kepada kami dan tidak mengampuni kami, pastilah kami menjadi orang-orang yang merugi".

EN Translation although [later,] when they would smite their hands in remorse, having perceived that they had gone astray, they would say, "Indeed, unless our Sustainer have mercy on us and grant us forgiveness, we shall most certainly be among the lost!"

وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوْسٰٓى اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖ غَضْبَانَ اَسِفًاۙ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُوْنِيْ مِنْۢ بَعْدِيْۚ اَعَجِلْتُمْ اَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْۚ وَاَلْقَى الْاَلْوَاحَ وَاَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ اَخِيْهِ يَجُرُّهٗٓ اِلَيْهِ ۗقَالَ ابْنَ اُمَّ اِنَّ الْقَوْمَ اسْتَضْعَفُوْنِيْ وَكَادُوْا يَقْتُلُوْنَنِيْۖ فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِيَ الْاَعْدَاۤءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِيْ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ١٥٠

ID Translation Dan tatkala Musa telah kembali kepada kaumnya dengan marah dan sedih hati berkatalah dia: "Alangkah buruknya perbuatan yang kamu kerjakan sesudah kepergianku! Apakah kamu hendak mendahului janji Tuhanmu? Dan Musapun melemparkan luh-luh (Taurat) itu dan memegang (rambut) kepala saudaranya (Harun) sambil menariknya ke arahnya, Harun berkata: "Hai anak ibuku, sesungguhnya kaum ini telah menganggapku lemah dan hampir-hampir mereka membunuhku, sebab itu janganlah kamu menjadikan musuh-musuh gembira melihatku, dan janganlah kamu masukkan aku ke dalam golongan orang-orang yang zalim"

EN Translation And when Moses returned to his people, full of wrath and sorrow, he exclaimed: "Vile is the course which you have followed in my absence! Have you forsaken your Sustainer's commandment?" And he threw down the tablets [of the Law], and seized his brother's head, dragging him towards himself. Cried Aaron: "O my mother's son! Behold, the people brought me low and almost slew me: so let not mine enemies rejoice at my affliction, and count me not among the evildoing folk!"

قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَلِاَخِيْ وَاَدْخِلْنَا فِيْ رَحْمَتِكَ ۖوَاَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرّٰحِمِيْنَ ١٥١

ID Translation Musa berdoa: "Ya Tuhanku, ampunilah aku dan saudaraku dan masukkanlah kami ke dalam rahmat Engkau, dan Engkau adalah Maha Penyayang di antara para penyayang".

EN Translation Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Grant Thou forgiveness unto me and my brother, and admit us unto Thy grace: for Thou art the most merciful of the merciful!"

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِى الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَاۗ وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِى الْمُفْتَرِيْنَ ١٥٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang menjadikan anak lembu (sebagai sembahannya), kelak akan menimpa mereka kemurkaan dari Tuhan mereka dan kehinaan dalam kehidupan di dunia. Demikianlah Kami memberi balasan kepada orang-orang yang membuat-buat kebohongan.

EN Translation [And to Aaron he said:] "Verily, as for those who have taken to worshipping the [golden] - calf - their Sustainer's condemnation will overtake them, and ignominy [will be their lot] in the -life of this world!" For thus do We requite all who invent [such] falsehood.

وَالَّذِيْنَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّاٰتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهَا وَاٰمَنُوْٓا اِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٥٣

ID Translation Orang-orang yang mengerjakan kejahatan, kemudian bertaubat sesudah itu dan beriman; sesungguhnya Tuhan kamu sesudah taubat yang disertai dengan iman itu adalah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation But as for those who do bad deeds and afterwards repent and [truly] believe-verily, after such repentance thy Sustainer is indeed much forgiving, a dispenser of grace!

وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَنْ مُّوْسَى الْغَضَبُ اَخَذَ الْاَلْوَاحَۖ وَفِيْ نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُوْنَ ١٥٤

ID Translation Sesudah amarah Musa menjadi reda, lalu diambilnya (kembali) luh-luh (Taurat) itu; dan dalam tulisannya terdapat petunjuk dan rahmat untuk orang-orang yang takut kepada Tuhannya.

EN Translation And when Moses' wrath as stilled, he took up the tablets, in the writing whereof there was guidance and grace for all who stood in awe of their Sustainer.

وَاخْتَارَ مُوْسٰى قَوْمَهٗ سَبْعِيْنَ رَجُلًا لِّمِيْقَاتِنَا ۚفَلَمَّآ اَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ اَهْلَكْتَهُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلُ وَاِيَّايَۗ اَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَهَاۤءُ مِنَّاۚ اِنْ هِيَ اِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَۗ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَنْ تَشَاۤءُ وَتَهْدِيْ مَنْ تَشَاۤءُۗ اَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَاَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِيْنَ ١٥٥

ID Translation Dan Musa memilih tujuh puluh orang dari kaumnya untuk (memohonkan taubat kepada Kami) pada waktu yang telah Kami tentukan. Maka ketika mereka digoncang gempa bumi, Musa berkata: "Ya Tuhanku, kalau Engkau kehendaki, tentulah Engkau membinasakan mereka dan aku sebelum ini. Apakah Engkau membinasakan kami karena perbuatan orang-orang yang kurang akal di antara kami? Itu hanyalah cobaan dari Engkau, Engkau sesatkan dengan cobaan itu siapa yang Engkau kehendaki dan Engkau beri petunjuk kepada siapa yang Engkau kehendaki. Engkaulah Yang memimpin kami, maka ampunilah kami dan berilah kami rahmat dan Engkaulah Pemberi ampun yang sebaik-baiknya".

EN Translation And Moses chose out of his people seventy men to come [and pray for forgiveness] at a time set by Us. Then, when violent trembling seized them, he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Hadst Thou so willed, Thou wouldst have destroyed them ere this, and me [with them]. Wilt Thou destroy us for what the weak-minded among us have done? (All] this is but a trial from Thee, whereby Thou allowest to go astray whom Thou willest, and guidest aright whom Thou willest. Thou art near unto us: grant us, then, forgiveness and have mercy on us - for Thou art the best of all forgivers!

۞ وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِى الْاٰخِرَةِ اِنَّا هُدْنَآ اِلَيْكَۗ قَالَ عَذَابِيْٓ اُصِيْبُ بِهٖ مَنْ اَشَاۤءُۚ وَرَحْمَتِيْ وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍۗ فَسَاَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِيْنَ يَتَّقُوْنَ وَيُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَالَّذِيْنَ هُمْ بِاٰيٰتِنَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَۚ ١٥٦

ID Translation Dan tetapkanlah untuk kami kebajikan di dunia ini dan di akhirat; sesungguhnya kami kembali (bertaubat) kepada Engkau. Allah berfirman: "Siksa-Ku akan Kutimpakan kepada siapa yang Aku kehendaki dan rahmat-Ku meliputi segala sesuatu. Maka akan Aku tetapkan rahmat-Ku untuk orang-orang yang bertakwa, yang menunaikan zakat dan orang-orang yang beriman kepada ayat-ayat Kami".

EN Translation And ordain Thou for us what is good in this world as well as in the life to come: behold, unto Thee have we turned in repentance!" [God] answered: "With My chastisement do I afflict whom I will - but My grace overspreads everything: and so I shall confer it on those who are conscious of Me and spend in charity, and who believe in Our messages-

اَلَّذِيْنَ يَتَّبِعُوْنَ الرَّسُوْلَ النَّبِيَّ الْاُمِّيَّ الَّذِيْ يَجِدُوْنَهٗ مَكْتُوْبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِى التَّوْرٰىةِ وَالْاِنْجِيْلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ وَيَنْهٰىهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبٰتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبٰۤىِٕثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ اِصْرَهُمْ وَالْاَغْلٰلَ الَّتِيْ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْۗ فَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا بِهٖ وَعَزَّرُوْهُ وَنَصَرُوْهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّوْرَ الَّذِيْٓ اُنْزِلَ مَعَهٗٓ ۙاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ ١٥٧

ID Translation (Yaitu) orang-orang yang mengikut Rasul, Nabi yang ummi yang (namanya) mereka dapati tertulis di dalam Taurat dan Injil yang ada di sisi mereka, yang menyuruh mereka mengerjakan yang ma'ruf dan melarang mereka dari mengerjakan yang mungkar dan menghalalkan bagi mereka segala yang baik dan mengharamkan bagi mereka segala yang buruk dan membuang dari mereka beban-beban dan belenggu-belenggu yang ada pada mereka. Maka orang-orang yang beriman kepadanya. memuliakannya, menolongnya dan mengikuti cahaya yang terang yang diturunkan kepadanya (Al Quran), mereka itulah orang-orang yang beruntung.

EN Translation those who shall follow the [last] Apostle, the unlettered Prophet whom they shall find described in the Torah that is with them, and [later on] in the Gospel: [the Prophet] who will enjoin upon them the doing of what is right and forbid them the doing of what is wrong, and make lawful to them the good things of life and forbid them the bad things, and lift from them their burdens and the shackles that were upon them [aforetime]. Those, therefore, who shall believe in him, and honour him, and succour him, and follow the light that has been bestowed from on high through him-it is they that shall attain to a happy state."

قُلْ يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنِّيْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ اِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيْعًا ۨالَّذِيْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۚ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيٖ وَيُمِيْتُۖ فَاٰمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهِ النَّبِيِّ الْاُمِّيِّ الَّذِيْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَكَلِمٰتِهٖ وَاتَّبِعُوْهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُوْنَ ١٥٨

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Hai manusia sesungguhnya aku adalah utusan Allah kepadamu semua, yaitu Allah Yang mempunyai kerajaan langit dan bumi; tidak ada Tuhan (yang berhak disembah) selain Dia, Yang menghidupkan dan mematikan, maka berimanlah kamu kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya, Nabi yang ummi yang beriman kepada Allah dan kepada kalimat-kalimat-Nya (kitab-kitab-Nya) dan ikutilah dia, supaya kamu mendapat petunjuk".

EN Translation Say [O Muhammad]: "O mankind! Verily, I am an apostle of God to all of you, [sent by Him] unto whom the dominion over the heavens and the earth belongs! There is no deity save Him; He [alone] grants life and deals death!" Believe, then, in God and His Apostle-the unlettered Prophet who believes in God and His words-and follow him, so that you might find guidance!

وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوْسٰٓى اُمَّةٌ يَّهْدُوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهٖ يَعْدِلُوْنَ ١٥٩

ID Translation Dan di antara kaum Musa itu terdapat suatu umat yang memberi petunjuk (kepada manusia) dengan hak dan dengan yang hak itulah mereka menjalankan keadilan.

EN Translation AND AMONG the folk of Moses there have been people who would guide [others] in the way of the truth and act justly in its light.

وَقَطَّعْنٰهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ اَسْبَاطًا اُمَمًاۗ وَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسٰٓى اِذِ اسْتَسْقٰىهُ قَوْمُهٗٓ اَنِ اضْرِبْ بِّعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَۚ فَانْۢبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًاۗ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ اُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْۗ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْغَمَامَ وَاَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوٰىۗ كُلُوْا مِنْ طَيِّبٰتِ مَا رَزَقْنٰكُمْۗ وَمَا ظَلَمُوْنَا وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ ١٦٠

ID Translation Dan mereka Kami bagi menjadi dua belas suku yang masing-masingnya berjumlah besar dan Kami wahyukan kepada Musa ketika kaumnya meminta air kepadanya: "Pukullah batu itu dengan tongkatmu!". Maka memancarlah dari padanya duabelas mata air. Sesungguhnya tiap-tiap suku mengetahui tempat minum masing-masing. Dan Kami naungkan awan di atas mereka dan Kami turunkan kepada mereka manna dan salwa. (Kami berfirman): "Makanlah yang baik-baik dari apa yang telah Kami rezekikan kepadamu". Mereka tidak menganiaya Kami, tapi merekalah yang selalu menganiaya dirinya sendiri.

EN Translation And We divided them into twelve tribes, [or] communities. And when his people asked Moses for water, We inspired him, "Strike the rock with thy staff!" -whereupon twelve springs gushed forth from it, so that all the people knew whence to drink., And We caused the clouds to comfort them with their shade, and We sent down unto them manna and quails, [saying:] "Partake of the good things which We have provided for you as sustenance." And [by all their sinning] they did no harm unto Us-but [only] against their own selves did they sin.

وَاِذْ قِيْلَ لَهُمُ اسْكُنُوْا هٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوْا مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُوْلُوْا حِطَّةٌ وَّادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَّغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيْۤـٰٔتِكُمْۗ سَنَزِيْدُ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ١٦١

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika dikatakan kepada mereka (Bani Israil): "Diamlah di negeri ini saja (Baitul Maqdis) dan makanlah dari (hasil bumi)nya di mana saja kamu kehendaki". Dan katakanlah: "Bebaskanlah kami dari dosa kami dan masukilah pintu gerbangnya sambil membungkuk, niscaya Kami ampuni kesalahan-kesalahanmu". Kelak akan Kami tambah (pahala) kepada orang-orang yang berbuat baik.

EN Translation And [remember] when you were told: "Dwell in this land and eat of its food as you may desire; but say, `Remove Thou from us the burden of our sins,' and enter the gate humbly - [whereupon] We shall forgive you your sins [and] shall amply reward the doers of good."

فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِيْ قِيْلَ لَهُمْ فَاَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَظْلِمُوْنَ ١٦٢

ID Translation Maka orang-orang yang zalim di antara mereka itu mengganti (perkataan itu) dengan perkataan yang tidak dikatakan kepada mereka, maka Kami timpakan kepada mereka azab dari langit disebabkan kezaliman mereka.

EN Translation But those among them who were bent on wrongdoing substituted another saying for that which they had been given: and so We let loose against them a plague from heaven in requital of all their evil doings.

وَسْـَٔلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِيْ كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِۘ اِذْ يَعْدُوْنَ فِى السَّبْتِ اِذْ تَأْتِيْهِمْ حِيْتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَّيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُوْنَۙ لَا تَأْتِيْهِمْ ۛ كَذٰلِكَ ۛنَبْلُوْهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَفْسُقُوْنَ ١٦٣

ID Translation Dan tanyakanlah kepada Bani Israil tentang negeri yang terletak di dekat laut ketika mereka melanggar aturan pada hari Sabtu, di waktu datang kepada mereka ikan-ikan (yang berada di sekitar) mereka terapung-apung di permukaan air, dan di hari-hari yang bukan Sabtu, ikan-ikan itu tidak datang kepada mereka. Demikianlah Kami mencoba mereka disebabkan mereka berlaku fasik.

EN Translation And ask them about that town which stood by the sea: how its people would profane the Sabbath whenever their fish came to them, breaking the water's surface, on a day on which they ought to have kept Sabbath -because they would not come to them on other than Sabbath-days! Thus did We try them by means of their [own] iniquitous doings.

وَاِذْ قَالَتْ اُمَّةٌ مِّنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُوْنَ قَوْمًاۙ ۨاللّٰهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ اَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيْدًاۗ قَالُوْا مَعْذِرَةً اِلٰى رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُوْنَ ١٦٤

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) ketika suatu umat di antara mereka berkata: "Mengapa kamu menasehati kaum yang Allah akan membinasakan mereka atau mengazab mereka dengan azab yang amat keras?" Mereka menjawab: "Agar kami mempunyai alasan (pelepas tanggung jawab) kepada Tuhanmu, dan supaya mereka bertakwa.

EN Translation And whenever some people among them asked [those who tried to restrain the Sabbath-breakers], "Why do you preach to people whom God is about to destroy or [at least] to chastise with suffering severe?" -the pious ones would answer, "In order to be free from blame before your Sustainer, and that these [transgressors, too,] might become conscious of Him."

فَلَمَّا نَسُوْا مَا ذُكِّرُوْا بِهٖٓ اَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِيْنَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوْۤءِ وَاَخَذْنَا الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا بِعَذَابٍۢ بَـِٔيْسٍۢ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَفْسُقُوْنَ ١٦٥

ID Translation Maka tatkala mereka melupakan apa yang diperingatkan kepada mereka, Kami selamatkan orang-orang yang melarang dari perbuatan jahat dan Kami timpakan kepada orang-orang yang zalim siksaan yang keras, disebabkan mereka selalu berbuat fasik.

EN Translation And thereupon, when those [sinners] had forgotten all that they had been told to take to. heart, We saved those who had tried to prevent the doing of evil, and overwhelmed those who had been bent on evildoing with dreadful suffering for all their iniquity;

فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَنْ مَّا نُهُوْا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُوْنُوْا قِرَدَةً خَاسِـِٕيْنَ ١٦٦

ID Translation Maka tatkala mereka bersikap sombong terhadap apa yang dilarang mereka mengerjakannya, Kami katakan kepadanya: "Jadilah kamu kera yang hina.

EN Translation and then, when they disdainfully persisted in doing what they had been forbidden to do, We said unto them: "Be as apes despicable!"

وَاِذْ تَاَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ مَنْ يَّسُوْمُهُمْ سُوْۤءَ الْعَذَابِۗ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيْعُ الْعِقَابِۖ وَاِنَّهٗ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٦٧

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika Tuhanmu memberitahukan, bahwa sesungguhnya Dia akan mengirim kepada mereka (orang-orang Yahudi) sampai hari kiamat orang-orang yang akan menimpakan kepada mereka azab yang seburuk-buruknya. Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu amat cepat siksa-Nya, dan sesungguhnya Dia adalah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation And lo! Thy Sustainer made it known that most certainly He would rouse against them, unto Resurrection Day, people who would afflict them with cruel suffering: verily, thy Sustainer is swift in retribution - yet, verily, He is [also] much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

وَقَطَّعْنٰهُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ اُمَمًاۚ مِنْهُمُ الصّٰلِحُوْنَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ ۖوَبَلَوْنٰهُمْ بِالْحَسَنٰتِ وَالسَّيِّاٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ ١٦٨

ID Translation Dan Kami bagi-bagi mereka di dunia ini menjadi beberapa golongan; di antaranya ada orang-orang yang saleh dan di antaranya ada yang tidak demikian. Dan Kami coba mereka dengan (nikmat) yang baik-baik dan (bencana) yang buruk-buruk, agar mereka kembali (kepada kebenaran).

EN Translation And We dispersed them as [separate] communities all over the earth; some of them were righteous, and some of them less than that: and the latter We tried with blessings as well as with afflictions, so that they might mend their ways.

فَخَلَفَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَّرِثُوا الْكِتٰبَ يَأْخُذُوْنَ عَرَضَ هٰذَا الْاَدْنٰى وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَاۚ وَاِنْ يَّأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِّثْلُهٗ يَأْخُذُوْهُۗ اَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِّيْثَاقُ الْكِتٰبِ اَنْ لَّا يَقُوْلُوْا عَلَى اللّٰهِ اِلَّا الْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوْا مَا فِيْهِۗ وَالدَّارُ الْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِيْنَ يَتَّقُوْنَۗ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ١٦٩

ID Translation Maka datanglah sesudah mereka generasi (yang jahat) yang mewarisi Taurat, yang mengambil harta benda dunia yang rendah ini, dan berkata: "Kami akan diberi ampun". Dan kelak jika datang kepada mereka harta benda dunia sebanyak itu (pula), niscaya mereka akan mengambilnya (juga). Bukankah perjanjian Taurat sudah diambil dari mereka, yaitu bahwa mereka tidak akan mengatakan terhadap Allah kecuali yang benar, padahal mereka telah mempelajari apa yang tersebut di dalamnya?. Dan kampung akhirat itu lebih bagi mereka yang bertakwa. Maka apakah kamu sekalian tidak mengerti?

EN Translation And they have been succeeded by [new] generations who - [in spite of] having inherited the divine writ-clutch but at the fleeting good of this lower world and say, "We shall be forgiven, the while they are ready, if another such fleeting good should come their way, to clutch at it [and sin again]. Have they not been solemnly pledged through the divine writ not to attribute unto God aught but what is true, and [have they not] read again and again all that is therein? Since the life in the hereafter is the better [of the two] for all who are conscious of God -will you not, then, use your reason?

وَالَّذِيْنَ يُمَسِّكُوْنَ بِالْكِتٰبِ وَاَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوةَۗ اِنَّا لَا نُضِيْعُ اَجْرَ الْمُصْلِحِيْنَ ١٧٠

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang berpegang teguh dengan Al Kitab (Taurat) serta mendirikan shalat, (akan diberi pahala) karena sesungguhnya Kami tidak menyia-nyiakan pahala orang-orang yang mengadakan perbaikan.

EN Translation For [We shall requite] all those who hold fast to the divine writ and are constant in prayer: verily, We shall not fail to requite those who enjoin the doing of what is right!

۞ وَاِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَاَنَّهٗ ظُلَّةٌ وَّظَنُّوْٓا اَنَّهٗ وَاقِعٌۢ بِهِمْۚ خُذُوْا مَآ اٰتَيْنٰكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَّاذْكُرُوْا مَا فِيْهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُوْنَ ١٧١

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika Kami mengangkat bukit ke atas mereka seakan-akan bukit itu naungan awan dan mereka yakin bahwa bukit itu akan jatuh menimpa mereka. (Dan Kami katakan kepada mereka): "Peganglah dengan teguh apa yang telah Kami berikan kepadamu, serta ingatlah selalu (amalkanlah) apa yang tersebut di dalamnya supaya kamu menjadi orang-orang yang bertakwa".

EN Translation And [did We not say,] when We caused Mount Sinai to quake above the children of Israel as though it were a [mere] shadow, and they thought that it would fall upon them, "Hold fast with [all your] strength unto what We have vouchsafed you, and bear in mind all that is therein, so that you might remain conscious of God"?

وَاِذْ اَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْۢ بَنِيْٓ اٰدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُوْرِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَاَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلٰٓى اَنْفُسِهِمْۚ اَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْۗ قَالُوْا بَلٰىۛ شَهِدْنَا ۛاَنْ تَقُوْلُوْا يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ اِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هٰذَا غٰفِلِيْنَۙ ١٧٢

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika Tuhanmu mengeluarkan keturunan anak-anak Adam dari sulbi mereka dan Allah mengambil kesaksian terhadap jiwa mereka (seraya berfirman): "Bukankah Aku ini Tuhanmu?" Mereka menjawab: "Betul (Engkau Tuhan kami), kami menjadi saksi". (Kami lakukan yang demikian itu) agar di hari kiamat kamu tidak mengatakan: "Sesungguhnya kami (bani Adam) adalah orang-orang yang lengah terhadap ini (keesaan Tuhan)",

EN Translation AND WHENEVER thy Sustainer brings forth their offspring from the loins of the children of Adam, He [thus] calls upon them to bear witness about themselves: "Am I not your Sustainer?" - to which they answer: "Yea, indeed, we do bear witness thereto!" [Of this We remind you,] lest you say on the Day of Resurrection, "Verily, we were unaware of this";

اَوْ تَقُوْلُوْٓا اِنَّمَآ اَشْرَكَ اٰبَاۤؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِّنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْۚ اَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُوْنَ ١٧٣

ID Translation atau agar kamu tidak mengatakan: "Sesungguhnya orang-orang tua kami telah mempersekutukan Tuhan sejak dahulu, sedang kami ini adalah anak-anak keturunan yang (datang) sesudah mereka. Maka apakah Engkau akan membinasakan kami karena perbuatan orang-orang yang sesat dahulu?"

EN Translation or lest you say, "Verily, it was but our forefathers who, in times gone by, began to ascribe divinity to other beings beside God; and we were but their late offspring: wilt Thou, then, destroy us for the doings of those inventors of falsehoods?"

وَكَذٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْاٰيٰتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ ١٧٤

ID Translation Dan demikianlah Kami menjelaskan ayat-ayat itu, agar mereka kembali (kepada kebenaran).

EN Translation And thus clearly do We spell out these messages; and [We do it] so that they [who have sinned] might return [unto Us].

وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَاَ الَّذِيْٓ اٰتَيْنٰهُ اٰيٰتِنَا فَانْسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَاَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطٰنُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْغٰوِيْنَ ١٧٥

ID Translation Dan bacakanlah kepada mereka berita orang yang telah Kami berikan kepadanya ayat-ayat Kami (pengetahuan tentang isi Al Kitab), kemudian dia melepaskan diri dari pada ayat-ayat itu, lalu dia diikuti oleh syaitan (sampai dia tergoda), maka jadilah dia termasuk orang-orang yang sesat.

EN Translation And tell them what happens to him to whom We vouchsafe Our messages and who then discards them: Satan catches up with him, and he strays, like so many others, into grievous error.

وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنٰهُ بِهَا وَلٰكِنَّهٗٓ اَخْلَدَ اِلَى الْاَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوٰىهُۚ فَمَثَلُهٗ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِۚ اِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ اَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْۗ ذٰلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَاۚ فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوْنَ ١٧٦

ID Translation Dan kalau Kami menghendaki, sesungguhnya Kami tinggikan (derajat)nya dengan ayat-ayat itu, tetapi dia cenderung kepada dunia dan menurutkan hawa nafsunya yang rendah, maka perumpamaannya seperti anjing jika kamu menghalaunya diulurkannya lidahnya dan jika kamu membiarkannya dia mengulurkan lidahnya (juga). Demikian itulah perumpamaan orang-orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami. Maka ceritakanlah (kepada mereka) kisah-kisah itu agar mereka berfikir.

EN Translation Now had We so willed, We could indeed have exalted him by means of those [messages]: but he always clung to the earth and followed but his own desires. Thus, his parable is that of an [excited] dog: if thou approach him threateningly, he will pant with his tongue lolling; and. if thou leave him alone, he will pant with his tongue lolling. Such is the parable of those who are bent on giving the lie to Our messages. Tell [them], then, this story, so that they might take thought.

سَاۤءَ مَثَلًا ۨالْقَوْمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَاَنْفُسَهُمْ كَانُوْا يَظْلِمُوْنَ ١٧٧

ID Translation Amat buruklah perumpamaan orang-orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami dan kepada diri mereka sendirilah mereka berbuat zalim.

EN Translation Evil is the example of people who are bent on giving the lie to Our messages: for it is against their own selves that they are sinning!

مَنْ يَّهْدِ اللّٰهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِيْۚ وَمَنْ يُّضْلِلْ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ ١٧٨

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang diberi petunjuk oleh Allah, maka dialah yang mendapat petunjuk; dan barangsiapa yang disesatkan Allah, maka merekalah orang-orang yang merugi.

EN Translation He whom God guides, he alone is truly guided; whereas those whom He lets go astray-it is they, they who are the losers!

وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوْبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُوْنَ بِهَاۖ وَلَهُمْ اَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُوْنَ بِهَاۖ وَلَهُمْ اٰذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُوْنَ بِهَاۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ كَالْاَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ اَضَلُّ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْغٰفِلُوْنَ ١٧٩

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami jadikan untuk (isi neraka Jahannam) kebanyakan dari jin dan manusia, mereka mempunyai hati, tetapi tidak dipergunakannya untuk memahami (ayat-ayat Allah) dan mereka mempunyai mata (tetapi) tidak dipergunakannya untuk melihat (tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah), dan mereka mempunyai telinga (tetapi) tidak dipergunakannya untuk mendengar (ayat-ayat Allah). Mereka itu sebagai binatang ternak, bahkan mereka lebih sesat lagi. Mereka itulah orang-orang yang lalai.

EN Translation And most certainly have We destined for hell many of the invisible beings and men who have hearts with which they fail to grasp the truth, and eyes with which they fail to see, and ears with which they fail to hear. They are like cattle -nay, they are even less conscious of the right way: it is they, they who are the [truly] heedless!

وَلِلّٰهِ الْاَسْمَاۤءُ الْحُسْنٰى فَادْعُوْهُ بِهَاۖ وَذَرُوا الَّذِيْنَ يُلْحِدُوْنَ فِيْٓ اَسْمَاۤىِٕهٖۗ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ۖ ١٨٠

ID Translation Hanya milik Allah asmaa-ul husna, maka bermohonlah kepada-Nya dengan menyebut asmaa-ul husna itu dan tinggalkanlah orang-orang yang menyimpang dari kebenaran dalam (menyebut) nama-nama-Nya. Nanti mereka akan mendapat balasan terhadap apa yang telah mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation AND GOD'S [alone] are the attributes of perfection; invoke Him, then, by these, and stand aloof from all who distort the meaning of His attributes: they shall be requited for all that they were wont to do!

وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ اُمَّةٌ يَّهْدُوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهٖ يَعْدِلُوْنَ ١٨١

ID Translation Dan di antara orang-orang yang Kami ciptakan ada umat yang memberi petunjuk dengan hak, dan dengan yang hak itu (pula) mereka menjalankan keadilan.

EN Translation Now, among those whom We have created there are people who guide [others] in the way of the truth and act justly in its light.

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَذَّبُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْ مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٨٢

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami, nanti Kami akan menarik mereka dengan berangaur-angsur (ke arah kebinasaan), dengan cara yang tidak mereka ketahui.

EN Translation But as for those who are bent on giving the lie to Our messages-We shall bring them low, step by step, without their perceiving how it came about:

وَاُمْلِيْ لَهُمْ ۗاِنَّ كَيْدِيْ مَتِيْنٌ ١٨٣

ID Translation Dan Aku memberi tangguh kepada mereka. Sesungguhnya rencana-Ku amat teguh.

EN Translation for, behold, though I may give them rein for a while. My subtle scheme is exceedingly firm!

اَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوْا مَا بِصَاحِبِهِمْ مِّنْ جِنَّةٍۗ اِنْ هُوَ اِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ١٨٤

ID Translation Apakah (mereka lalai) dan tidak memikirkan bahwa teman mereka (Muhammad) tidak berpenyakit gila. Dia (Muhammad itu) tidak lain hanyalah seorang pemberi peringatan lagi pemberi penjelasan.

EN Translation Has it, then, never occurred to them that there is no madness whatever in [this] their fellowman? He is only a plain warner.

اَوَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوْا فِيْ مَلَكُوْتِ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَّاَنْ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ اَجَلُهُمْۖ فَبِاَيِّ حَدِيْثٍۢ بَعْدَهٗ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ ١٨٥

ID Translation Dan apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan kerajaan langit dan bumi dan segala sesuatu yang diciptakan Allah, dan kemungkinan telah dekatnya kebinasaan mereka? Maka kepada berita manakah lagi mereka akan beriman sesudah Al Quran itu?

EN Translation Have they, then, never considered [God's] mighty dominion over the heavens and the earth, and all the things that God has created, and [asked themselves] whether, perchance, the end of their own term might already have drawn nigh? In what other tiding, then, will they, after this, believe?

مَنْ يُّضْلِلِ اللّٰهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهٗ ۖوَيَذَرُهُمْ فِيْ طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُوْنَ ١٨٦

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang Allah sesatkan, maka baginya tak ada orang yang akan memberi petunjuk. Dan Allah membiarkan mereka terombang-ambing dalam kesesatan.

EN Translation For those whom God lets go astray, there is no guide; and He shall leave them in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro.

يَسْـَٔلُوْنَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ اَيَّانَ مُرْسٰىهَاۗ قُلْ اِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّيْۚ لَا يُجَلِّيْهَا لِوَقْتِهَآ اِلَّا هُوَۘ ثَقُلَتْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ لَا تَأْتِيْكُمْ اِلَّا بَغْتَةً ۗيَسْـَٔلُوْنَكَ كَاَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَاۗ قُلْ اِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٨٧

ID Translation Mereka menanyakan kepadamu tentang kiamat: "Bilakah terjadinya?" Katakanlah: "Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang kiamat itu adalah pada sisi Tuhanku; tidak seorangpun yang dapat menjelaskan waktu kedatangannya selain Dia. Kiamat itu amat berat (huru haranya bagi makhluk) yang di langit dan di bumi. Kiamat itu tidak akan datang kepadamu melainkan dengan tiba-tiba". Mereka bertanya kepadamu seakan-akan kamu benar-benar mengetahuinya. Katakanlah: "Sesungguhnya pengetahuan tentang bari kiamat itu adalah di sisi Allah, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahui".

EN Translation THEY WILL ASK thee [O Prophet] about the Last Hour: "When will it come to pass?" Say: "Verily, knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer alone. None but He will reveal it in its time. Heavily will it weigh on the heavens and the earth; [and] it will not fall upon you otherwise than of a sudden." They will ask thee - as if thou couldst gain insight into this [mystery] by dint of persistent inquiry! Say: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer alone; but [of this] most people are unaware."

قُلْ لَّآ اَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِيْ نَفْعًا وَّلَا ضَرًّا اِلَّا مَا شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ ۗوَلَوْ كُنْتُ اَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ لَاسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِۛ وَمَا مَسَّنِيَ السُّوْۤءُ ۛاِنْ اَنَا۠ اِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ وَّبَشِيْرٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ١٨٨

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Aku tidak berkuasa menarik kemanfaatan bagi diriku dan tidak (pula) menolak kemudharatan kecuali yang dikehendaki Allah. Dan sekiranya aku mengetahui yang ghaib, tentulah aku membuat kebajikan sebanyak-banyaknya dan aku tidak akan ditimpa kemudharatan. Aku tidak lain hanyalah pemberi peringatan, dan pembawa berita gembira bagi orang-orang yang beriman".

EN Translation Say [O Prophet]: "It is not within my power to bring benefit to, or avert harm from, myself, except as God may please. And if I knew that which is beyond the reach of human perception, abundant good fortune-would surely have fallen to my lot, and no evil would ever have touched me. I am nothing but a warner, and a herald of glad tidings unto people who will believe."

۞ هُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَكُمْ مِّنْ نَّفْسٍ وَّاحِدَةٍ وَّجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ اِلَيْهَاۚ فَلَمَّا تَغَشّٰىهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيْفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهٖ ۚفَلَمَّآ اَثْقَلَتْ دَّعَوَا اللّٰهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَىِٕنْ اٰتَيْتَنَا صَالِحًا لَّنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الشّٰكِرِيْنَ ١٨٩

ID Translation Dialah Yang menciptakan kamu dari diri yang satu dan dari padanya Dia menciptakan isterinya, agar dia merasa senang kepadanya. Maka setelah dicampurinya, isterinya itu mengandung kandungan yang ringan, dan teruslah dia merasa ringan (beberapa waktu). Kemudian tatkala dia merasa berat, keduanya (suami-isteri) bermohon kepada Allah, Tuhannya seraya berkata: "Sesungguhnya jika Engkau memberi kami anak yang saleh, tentulah kami termasuk orang-orang yang bersyukur".

EN Translation IT IS HE who has created you [all] out of one living entity, and out of it brought into being its mate, so that man might incline [with love] towards woman. And so, when he has embraced her, she conceives [what at first is] a light burden, and continues to bear it. Then, when she grows heavy [with child], they both call unto God, their Sustainer, "If Thou indeed grant us a sound [child], we shall most certainly be among the grateful!"

فَلَمَّآ اٰتٰىهُمَا صَالِحًا جَعَلَا لَهٗ شُرَكَاۤءَ فِيْمَآ اٰتٰىهُمَا ۚفَتَعٰلَى اللّٰهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ ١٩٠

ID Translation Tatkala Allah memberi kepada keduanya seorang anak yang sempurna, maka keduanya menjadikan sekutu bagi Allah terhadap anak yang telah dianugerahkan-Nya kepada keduanya itu. Maka Maha Tinggi Allah dari apa yang mereka persekutukan.

EN Translation And yet, as soon as He has granted them sound [offspring], they begin to ascribe to other powers beside Him a share in bringing about what He has granted them! Sublimely exalted, however, is God- above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity!

اَيُشْرِكُوْنَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْـًٔا وَّهُمْ يُخْلَقُوْنَۖ ١٩١

ID Translation Apakah mereka mempersekutukan (Allah dengan) berhada-berhala yang tak dapat menciptakan sesuatupun? Sedangkan berhala-berhala itu sendiri buatan orang.

EN Translation Will they, then,- ascribe divinity, side by side with Him, unto beings that cannot create anything since they themselves are created -

وَلَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَّلَآ اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُوْنَ ١٩٢

ID Translation Dan berhala-berhala itu tidak mampu memberi pertolongan kepada penyembah-penyembahnya dan kepada dirinya sendiripun berhala-berha]a itu tidak dapat memberi pertolongan.

EN Translation and neither are able to give them succour nor can succour themselves,

وَاِنْ تَدْعُوْهُمْ اِلَى الْهُدٰى لَا يَتَّبِعُوْكُمْۗ سَوَۤاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ اَدَعَوْتُمُوْهُمْ اَمْ اَنْتُمْ صَامِتُوْنَ ١٩٣

ID Translation Dan jika kamu (hai orang-orang musyrik) menyerunya (berhala) untuk memberi petunjuk kepadamu, tidaklah berhala-berhala itu dapat memperkenankan seruanmu; sama saja (hasilnya) buat kamu menyeru mereka ataupun kamu herdiam diri.

EN Translation and, if you pray to them for guidance, do not respond to you? As far as you are concerned, it is all one whether you invoke them or keep silent.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ عِبَادٌ اَمْثَالُكُمْ فَادْعُوْهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ١٩٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya berhala-berhala yang kamu seru selain Allah itu adalah makhluk (yang lemah) yang serupa juga dengan kamu. Maka serulah berhala-berhala itu lalu biarkanlah mereka mmperkenankan permintaanmu, jika kamu memang orang-orang yang benar.

EN Translation Verily, all those whom you invoke beside God are but created beings like yourselves: invoke them, then, and let them answer your prayer - if what you claim is true!

اَلَهُمْ اَرْجُلٌ يَّمْشُوْنَ بِهَآ ۖ اَمْ لَهُمْ اَيْدٍ يَّبْطِشُوْنَ بِهَآ ۖ اَمْ لَهُمْ اَعْيُنٌ يُّبْصِرُوْنَ بِهَآ ۖ اَمْ لَهُمْ اٰذَانٌ يَّسْمَعُوْنَ بِهَاۗ قُلِ ادْعُوْا شُرَكَاۤءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيْدُوْنِ فَلَا تُنْظِرُوْنِ ١٩٥

ID Translation Apakah berhala-berhala mempunyai kaki yang dengan itu ia dapat berjalan, atau mempunyai tangan yang dengan itu ia dapat memegang dengan keras, atau mempunyai mata yang dengan itu ia dapat melihat, atau mempunyai telinga yang dengan itu ia dapat mendengar? Katakanlah: "Panggillah berhala-berhalamu yang kamu jadikan sekutu Allah, kemudian lakukanlah tipu daya (untuk mencelakakan)-ku. tanpa memberi tangguh (kepada-ku)".

EN Translation Have these [images], perchance, feet on which they could walk? Or have they hands with which they could grasp? Or have they eyes with which they could see? Or have they ears with which they could hear? Say [O Prophet]: "Summon to your aid all those to whom you ascribe a share in God's divinity, and thereupon contrive [anything you may wish] against me, and give me no respite!

اِنَّ وَلِيِّ َۧ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْ نَزَّلَ الْكِتٰبَۖ وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ١٩٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya pelindungku ialahlah Yang telah menurunkan Al Kitab (Al Quran) dan Dia melindungi orang-orang yang saleh.

EN Translation Verily, my protector is God, who has bestowed this divine writ from on high: for it is He who protects the righteous,

وَالَّذِيْنَ تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ لَا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَآ اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُوْنَ ١٩٧

ID Translation Dan berhala-berhala yang kamu seru selain Allah tidaklah sanggup menolongmu, bahkan tidak dapat menolong dirinya sendiri.

EN Translation whereas all those whom you invoke in His stead are neither able to give you succour nor can succour themselves;

وَاِنْ تَدْعُوْهُمْ اِلَى الْهُدٰى لَا يَسْمَعُوْاۗ وَتَرٰىهُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُوْنَ ١٩٨

ID Translation Dan jika kamu sekalian menyeru (berhala-berhala) untuk memberi petunjuk, niscaya berhala-herhala itu tidak dapat mendengarnya. Dan kamu melihat berhala-berhala itu memandang kepadamu padahal ia tidak melihat.

EN Translation and if you pray unto them for guidance, they do not hear; and though thou mayest imagine that they behold thee, they do not see."

خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَاَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِيْنَ ١٩٩

ID Translation Jadilah engkau pemaaf dan suruhlah orang mengerjakan yang ma'ruf, serta berpalinglah dari pada orang-orang yang bodoh.

EN Translation MAKE due allowance for man's nature, and enjoin the doing of what is right; and leave alone all those who choose to remain ignorant.

وَاِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّهٗ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ٢٠٠

ID Translation Dan jika kamu ditimpa sesuatu godaan syaitan maka berlindunglah kepada Allah

EN Translation And if it should happen that a prompting from Satan stirs thee up [to blind anger], seek refuge with God: behold, He is all-hearing, all-knowing.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّقَوْا اِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طٰۤىِٕفٌ مِّنَ الشَّيْطٰنِ تَذَكَّرُوْا فَاِذَا هُمْ مُّبْصِرُوْنَۚ ٢٠١

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang bertakwa bila mereka ditimpa was-was dari syaitan, mereka ingat kepada Allah, maka ketika itu juga mereka melihat kesalahan-kesalahannya.

EN Translation Verily, they who are conscious of God bethink themselves [of Him] whenever any dark suggestion from Satan touches them - whereupon, lo! they begin to see [things] clearly,

وَاِخْوَانُهُمْ يَمُدُّوْنَهُمْ فِى الْغَيِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُوْنَ ٢٠٢

ID Translation Dan teman-teman mereka (orang-orang kafir dan fasik) membantu syaitan-syaitan dalam menyesatkan dan mereka tidak henti-hentinya (menyesatkan).

EN Translation even though their [godless] brethren would [like to] draw them into error: and then they cannot fail [to do what is right].

وَاِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِمْ بِاٰيَةٍ قَالُوْا لَوْلَا اجْتَبَيْتَهَاۗ قُلْ اِنَّمَآ اَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوْحٰٓى اِلَيَّ مِنْ رَّبِّيْۗ هٰذَا بَصَاۤىِٕرُ مِنْ رَّبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٢٠٣

ID Translation Dan apabila kamu tidak membawa suatu ayat Al Quran kepada mereka, mereka berkata: "Mengapa tidak kamu buat sendiri ayat itu?" Katakanlah: "Sesungguhnya aku hanya mengikut apa yang diwahyukan dari Tuhanku kepadaku. Al Quran ini adalah bukti-bukti yang nyata dari Tuhanmu, petunjuk dan rahmat bagi orang-orang yang beriman".

EN Translation And yet, when thou [O Prophet] dost not produce any miracle for them, some [people] say, "Why dost thou not seek to obtain it [from God]? Say: "I only follow whatever is being revealed to me by my Sustainer: this [revelation] is a means of insight from your Sustainer, and a guidance and grace unto people who will believe.

وَاِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْاٰنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوْا لَهٗ وَاَنْصِتُوْا لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُوْنَ ٢٠٤

ID Translation Dan apabila dibacakan Al Quran, maka dengarkanlah baik-baik, dan perhatikanlah dengan tenang agar kamu mendapat rahmat.

EN Translation Hence, when the Qur'an is voiced, hearken unto it, and listen in silence, so that you might be graced with [God's] mercy."

وَاذْكُرْ رَّبَّكَ فِيْ نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَّخِيْفَةً وَّدُوْنَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْاٰصَالِ وَلَا تَكُنْ مِّنَ الْغٰفِلِيْنَ ٢٠٥

ID Translation Dan sebutlah (nama) Tuhanmu dalam hatimu dengan merendahkan diri dan rasa takut, dan dengan tidak mengeraskan suara, di waktu pagi dan petang, dan janganlah kamu termasuk orang-orang yang lalai.

EN Translation And bethink thyself of thy Sustainer humbly and with awe, and without raising thy voice, at morn and at evening; and do not allow thyself to be heedless.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهٖ وَيُسَبِّحُوْنَهٗ وَلَهٗ يَسْجُدُوْنَ ۩ ٢٠٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya malaikat-malaikat yang ada di sisi Tuhanmu tidaklah merasa enggan menyembah Allah dan mereka mentasbihkan-Nya dan hanya kepada-Nya-lah mereka bersujud.

EN Translation Behold, those who are near unto thy Sustainer are never too proud to worship Him; and they extol His limitless glory, and prostrate themselves before Him [alone].

يَسْـَٔلُوْنَكَ عَنِ الْاَنْفَالِۗ قُلِ الْاَنْفَالُ لِلّٰهِ وَالرَّسُوْلِۚ فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَصْلِحُوْا ذَاتَ بَيْنِكُمْ ۖوَاَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗٓ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ١

ID Translation Mereka menanyakan kepadamu tentang (pembagian) harta rampasan perang. Katakanlah: "Harta rampasan perang kepunyaan Allah dan Rasul, oleh sebab itu bertakwalah kepada Allah dan perbaikilah perhubungan di antara sesamamu; dan taatlah kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya jika kamu adalah orang-orang yang beriman".

EN Translation HEY WILL ASK thee about the spoils of war. Say: "All spoils of war belong to God and the Apostle." Remain, then, conscious of God, and keep alive the bonds of brotherhood among yourselves, and pay heed unto God and His Apostle, if you are [truly] believers!

اِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ الَّذِيْنَ اِذَا ذُكِرَ اللّٰهُ وَجِلَتْ قُلُوْبُهُمْ وَاِذَا تُلِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتُهٗ زَادَتْهُمْ اِيْمَانًا وَّعَلٰى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُوْنَۙ ٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman ialah mereka yang bila disebut nama Allah gemetarlah hati mereka, dan apabila dibacakan ayat-ayat-Nya bertambahlah iman mereka (karenanya), dan hanya kepada Tuhanlah mereka bertawakkal.

EN Translation Believers are only they whose hearts tremble with awe whenever God is mentioned, and whose faith is strengthened whenever His messages are conveyed unto them, and who in their Sustainer place their trust -

الَّذِيْنَ يُقِيْمُوْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنٰهُمْ يُنْفِقُوْنَۗ ٣

ID Translation (yaitu) orang-orang yang mendirikan shalat dan yang menafkahkan sebagian dari rezeki yang Kami berikan kepada mereka.

EN Translation those who are constant in prayer and spend on others out of what We provide for them as sustenance:

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ حَقًّاۗ لَهُمْ دَرَجٰتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ وَّرِزْقٌ كَرِيْمٌۚ ٤

ID Translation Itulah orang-orang yang beriman dengan sebenar-benarnya. Mereka akan memperoleh beberapa derajat ketinggian di sisi Tuhannya dan ampunan serta rezeki (nikmat) yang mulia.

EN Translation it is they, they who are truly believers! Theirs shall be great dignity in their Sustainer's sight, and forgiveness of sins, and a most excellent sustenance.

كَمَآ اَخْرَجَكَ رَبُّكَ مِنْۢ بَيْتِكَ بِالْحَقِّۖ وَاِنَّ فَرِيْقًا مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ لَكٰرِهُوْنَ ٥

ID Translation Sebagaimana Tuhanmu menyuruhmu pergi dan rumahmu dengan kebenaran, padahal sesungguhnya sebagian dari orang-orang yang beriman itu tidak menyukainya,

EN Translation EVEN AS thy Sustainer brought thee forth from thy home [to fight] in the cause of the truth, although some of the believers were averse to it,

يُجَادِلُوْنَكَ فِى الْحَقِّ بَعْدَمَا تَبَيَّنَ كَاَنَّمَا يُسَاقُوْنَ اِلَى الْمَوْتِ وَهُمْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ ۗ ٦

ID Translation mereka membantahmu tentang kebenaran sesudah nyata (bahwa mereka pasti menang), seolah-olah mereka dihalau kepada kematian, sedang mereka melihat (sebab-sebab kematian itu).

EN Translation [so, too,] they would argue with thee about the truth [itself] after it had become manifest - just as if they were being driven towards death and beheld it with their very eyes.

وَاِذْ يَعِدُكُمُ اللّٰهُ اِحْدَى الطَّاۤىِٕفَتَيْنِ اَنَّهَا لَكُمْ وَتَوَدُّوْنَ اَنَّ غَيْرَ ذَاتِ الشَّوْكَةِ تَكُوْنُ لَكُمْ وَيُرِيْدُ اللّٰهُ اَنْ يُّحِقَّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمٰتِهٖ وَيَقْطَعَ دَابِرَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَۙ ٧

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika Allah menjanjikan kepadamu bahwa salah satu dari dua golongan (yang kamu hadapi) adalah untukmu, sedang kamu menginginkan bahwa yang tidak mempunyai kekekuatan senjatalah yang untukmu, dan Allah menghendaki untuk membenarkan yang benar dengan ayat-ayat-Nya dan memusnahkan orang-orang kafir,

EN Translation And, lo, God gave you the promise that one of the two [enemy] hosts would fall to you: and you would have liked to seize the less powerful one, whereas it was God's will to prove the truth to be true in accordance with His words, and to wipe out the last remnant of those who denied the truth -

لِيُحِقَّ الْحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلَ الْبَاطِلَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَۚ ٨

ID Translation agar Allah menetapkan yang hak (Islam) dan membatalkan yang batil (syirik) walaupun orang-orang yang berdosa (musyrik) itu tidak menyukainya.

EN Translation so that He might prove the truth to be true and the false to be false, however hateful this might be to those who were lost in sin.

اِذْ تَسْتَغِيْثُوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ فَاسْتَجَابَ لَكُمْ اَنِّيْ مُمِدُّكُمْ بِاَلْفٍ مِّنَ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ مُرْدِفِيْنَ ٩

ID Translation (Ingatlah), ketika kamu memohon pertolongan kepada Tuhanmu, lalu diperkenankan-Nya bagimu: "Sesungguhnya Aku akan mendatangkan bala bantuan kepada kamu dengan seribu malaikat yang datang berturut-turut".

EN Translation Lo! You were praying unto your Sustainer for aid, whereupon He thus responded to you: "I shall, verily, aid you with a thousand angels following one upon' another!"

وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللّٰهُ اِلَّا بُشْرٰى وَلِتَطْمَىِٕنَّ بِهٖ قُلُوْبُكُمْۗ وَمَا النَّصْرُ اِلَّا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَزِيْزٌ حَكِيْمٌ ١٠

ID Translation Dan Allah tidak menjadikannya (mengirim bala bantuan itu), melainkan sebagai kabar gembira dan agar hatimu menjadi tenteram karenanya. Dan kemenangan itu hanyalah dari sisi Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation And God ordained this only as a glad tiding, and that your hearts should thereby be set at rest-since no succour can come from any save God: verily, God is almighty, wise!

اِذْ يُغَشِّيْكُمُ النُّعَاسَ اَمَنَةً مِّنْهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءً لِّيُطَهِّرَكُمْ بِهٖ وَيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمْ رِجْزَ الشَّيْطٰنِ وَلِيَرْبِطَ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ الْاَقْدَامَۗ ١١

ID Translation (Ingatlah), ketika Allah menjadikan kamu mengantuk sebagai suatu penenteraman daripada-Nya, dan Allah menurunkan kepadamu hujan dari langit untuk mensucikan kamu dengan hujan itu dan menghilangkan dari kamu gangguan-gangguan syaitan dan untuk menguatkan hatimu dan mesmperteguh dengannya telapak kaki(mu).

EN Translation [Remember how it was] when He caused inner calm to enfold you, as an assurance from Him, and sent down upon you water from the skies, so that He might purify you thereby and free you from Satan's unclean whisperings and strengthen your hearts and thus make firm your steps.

اِذْ يُوْحِيْ رَبُّكَ اِلَى الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةِ اَنِّيْ مَعَكُمْ فَثَبِّتُوا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْاۗ سَاُلْقِيْ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ فَاضْرِبُوْا فَوْقَ الْاَعْنَاقِ وَاضْرِبُوْا مِنْهُمْ كُلَّ بَنَانٍۗ ١٢

ID Translation (Ingatlah), ketika Tuhanmu mewahyukan kepada para malaikat: "Sesungguhnya Aku bersama kamu, maka teguhkan (pendirian) orang-orang yang telah beriman". Kelak akan Aku jatuhkan rasa ketakutan ke dalam hati orang-orang kafir, maka penggallah kepala mereka dan pancunglah tiap-tiap ujung jari mereka.

EN Translation Lo! Thy Sustainer inspired the angels [to convey this His message to the believers]: "I am with you!" [And He commanded the angels:] "And, give firmness unto those who have attained to faith [with these words from Me]: `I shall cast terror into the hearts of those who are bent on denying the truth; strike, then, their necks, [O believers,] and strike off every one of their finger-tips!"

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ شَاۤقُّوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗۚ وَمَنْ يُّشَاقِقِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِ ١٣

ID Translation (Ketentuan) yang demikian itu adalah karena sesungguhnya mereka menentang Allah dan Rasul-Nya; dan barangsiapa menentang Allah dan Rasul-Nya, maka sesungguhnya Allah amat keras siksaan-Nya.

EN Translation This, because they have cut themselves off from God and His Apostle: and as for him who cuts himself off from God and His Apostle - verily, God is severe in retribution.

ذٰلِكُمْ فَذُوْقُوْهُ وَاَنَّ لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ عَذَابَ النَّارِ ١٤

ID Translation Itulah (hukum dunia yang ditimpakan atasmu), maka rasakanlah hukuman itu. Sesungguhnya bagi orang-orang yang kafir itu ada (lagi) azab neraka.

EN Translation This [for you, O enemies of God]! Taste it, then, [and know] that suffering through fire awaits those who deny the truth!

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِذَا لَقِيْتُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا زَحْفًا فَلَا تُوَلُّوْهُمُ الْاَدْبَارَۚ ١٥

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, apabila kamu bertemu dengan orang-orang yang kafir yang sedang menyerangmu, maka janganlah kamu membelakangi mereka (mundur).

EN Translation O YOU who have attained to faith! When you meet in battle those who are bent on denying the truth, advancing in great force, do not turn your backs on them:

وَمَنْ يُّوَلِّهِمْ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ دُبُرَهٗٓ اِلَّا مُتَحَرِّفًا لِّقِتَالٍ اَوْ مُتَحَيِّزًا اِلٰى فِئَةٍ فَقَدْ بَاۤءَ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَمَأْوٰىهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۗ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيْرُ ١٦

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang membelakangi mereka (mundur) di waktu itu, kecuali berbelok untuk (sisat) perang atau hendak menggabungkan diri dengan pasukan yang lain, maka sesungguhnya orang itu kembali dengan membawa kemurkaan dari Allah, dan tempatnya ialah neraka Jahannam. Dan amat buruklah tempat kembalinya.

EN Translation for, whoever on that day turns his back on them-unless it be in a battle manoeuvre or in an endeavour to join another troop [of the believers] - shall indeed have earned the burden of God's condemnation, and his goal shall be hell: and how vile a journey's end!

فَلَمْ تَقْتُلُوْهُمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ قَتَلَهُمْۖ وَمَا رَمَيْتَ اِذْ رَمَيْتَ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ رَمٰىۚ وَلِيُبْلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ مِنْهُ بَلَاۤءً حَسَنًاۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ١٧

ID Translation Maka (yang sebenarnya) bukan kamu yang membunuh mereka, akan tetapi Allahlah yang membunuh mereka, dan bukan kamu yang melempar ketika kamu melempar, tetapi Allah-lah yang melempar. (Allah berbuat demikian untuk membinasakan mereka) dan untuk memberi kemenangan kepada orang-orang mukmin, dengan kemenangan yang baik. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui.

EN Translation And yet, [O believers,] it was not you who slew the enemy, but it was God who slew them; and it was not thou who cast [terror into them, O Prophet], when thou didst cast it, but it was God who cast it: and [He did all this] in order that He might test the believers by a goodly test of His Own or daining. Verily, God is all-hearing, all-knowing!

ذٰلِكُمْ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُوْهِنُ كَيْدِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ١٨

ID Translation Itulah (karunia Allah yang dilimpahkan kepadamu), dan sesungguhnya Allah melemahkan tipu daya orang-orang yang kafir.

EN Translation This [was God's purpose] -and also [to show] that God renders vain the artful schemes of those who deny the truth.

اِنْ تَسْتَفْتِحُوْا فَقَدْ جَاۤءَكُمُ الْفَتْحُۚ وَاِنْ تَنْتَهُوْا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْۚ وَاِنْ تَعُوْدُوْا نَعُدْۚ وَلَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْكُمْ فِئَتُكُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَوْ كَثُرَتْۙ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَعَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ١٩

ID Translation Jika kamu (orang-orang musyrikin) mencari keputusan, maka telah datang keputusan kepadamu; dan jika kamu berhenti; maka itulah yang lehih baik bagimu; dan jika kamu kembali, niscaya Kami kembali (pula); dan angkatan perangmu sekali-kali tidak akan dapat menolak dari kamu sesuatu bahayapun, biarpun dia banyak dan sesungguhnya Allah beserta orang-orang yang beriman.

EN Translation If you have been praying for victory, [O believers] - victory has now indeed come unto you. And if you abstain [from sinning], it will be for your own good; but if you revert to it, We shall revoke [Our promise of aid] - and never will your community be of any avail to you, however great its numbers: for, behold, God is [only] with those who believe!

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ وَلَا تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَاَنْتُمْ تَسْمَعُوْنَ ٢٠

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, taatlah kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya, dan janganlah kamu berpaling dari pada-Nya, sedang kamu mendengar (perintah-perintah-Nya),

EN Translation [Hence,] O you who have attained to faith, pay heed unto God and His Apostle, and do not turn away from Him now that you hear [His message];

وَلَا تَكُوْنُوْا كَالَّذِيْنَ قَالُوْا سَمِعْنَا وَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوْنَۚ ٢١

ID Translation dan janganlah kamu menjadi seperti orang-orang (munafik) vang berkata "Kami mendengarkan, padahal mereka tidak mendengarkan.

EN Translation and be not like those who say, "We have heard", the while they do not hearken.

۞ اِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَاۤبِّ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِيْنَ لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ٢٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya binatang (makhluk) yang seburuk-buruknya pada sisi Allah ialah; orang-orang yang pekak dan tuli yang tidak mengerti apa-apapun.

EN Translation Verily, the vilest of all creatures in the sight of God are those deaf, those dumb ones who do not use their reason.

وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللّٰهُ فِيْهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّاَسْمَعَهُمْۗ وَلَوْ اَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّوْا وَّهُمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ٢٣

ID Translation Kalau sekiranya Allah mengetahui kebaikan ada pada mereka, tentulah Allah menjadikan mereka dapat mendengar. Dan jikalau Allah menjadikan mereka dapat mendengar, niscaya mereka pasti berpaling juga, sedang mereka memalingkan diri (dari apa yang mereka dengar itu).

EN Translation For, if God had seen any good in them, He would certainly have made them hear: but [as it is,] even if He had made them hear, they would surely have turned away in their obstinacy.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اسْتَجِيْبُوْا لِلّٰهِ وَلِلرَّسُوْلِ اِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيْكُمْۚ وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَحُوْلُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهٖ وَاَنَّهٗٓ اِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُوْنَ ٢٤

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, penuhilah seruan Allah dan seruan Rasul apabila Rasul menyeru kamu kepada suatu yang memberi kehidupan kepada kamu, ketahuilah bahwa sesungguhnya Allah membatasi antara manusia dan hatinya dan sesungguhnya kepada-Nya-lah kamu akan dikumpulkan.

EN Translation O you who have attained to faith! Respond to the call of God and the Apostle whenever he calls you unto that which will give you life; and know that God intervenes between man and [the desires of] his heart, and that unto Him you shall be gathered.

وَاتَّقُوْا فِتْنَةً لَّا تُصِيْبَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مِنْكُمْ خَاۤصَّةً ۚوَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيْدُ الْعِقَابِ ٢٥

ID Translation Dan peliharalah dirimu dari pada siksaan yang tidak khusus menimpa orang-orang yang zalim saja di antara kamu. Dan ketahuilah bahwa Allah amat keras siksaan-Nya.

EN Translation And beware of that temptation to evil which does not befall only those among you who are bent on denying the truth, to the exclusion of others; and know that God is severe in retribution.

وَاذْكُرُوْٓا اِذْ اَنْتُمْ قَلِيْلٌ مُّسْتَضْعَفُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ تَخَافُوْنَ اَنْ يَّتَخَطَّفَكُمُ النَّاسُ فَاٰوٰىكُمْ وَاَيَّدَكُمْ بِنَصْرِهٖ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ ٢٦

ID Translation Dan ingatlah (hai para muhajirin) ketika kamu masih berjumlah sedikit, lagi tertindas di muka bumi (Mekah), kamu takut orang-orang (Mekah) akan menculik kamu, maka Allah memberi kamu tempat menetap (Madinah) dan dijadikan-Nya kamu kuat dengan pertolongan-Nya dan diberi-Nya kamu rezeki dari yang baik-baik agar kamu bersyukur.

EN Translation And remember the time when you were few [and] helpless on earth, fearful lest people do away with you - whereupon He sheltered you, and strengthened you with His succour, and provided for you sustenance out of the good things of life, so that you might have cause to be grateful.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَخُوْنُوا اللّٰهَ وَالرَّسُوْلَ وَتَخُوْنُوْٓا اَمٰنٰتِكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah kamu mengkhianati Allah dan Rasul (Muhammad) dan (juga) janganlah kamu mengkhianati amanat-amanat yang dipercayakan kepadamu, sedang kamu mengetahui.

EN Translation [Hence,] O you who have attained to faith, do not be false to God and the Apostle, and do not knowingly be false to the trust that has been reposed in you;

وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّمَآ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَاَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۙوَّاَنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهٗٓ اَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ ٢٨

ID Translation Dan ketahuilah, bahwa hartamu dan anak-anakmu itu hanyalah sebagai cobaan dan sesungguhnya di sisi Allah-lah pahala yang besar.

EN Translation and know that your worldly goods and your children are but a trial and a temptation, and that with God there is a tremendous reward.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنْ تَتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ يَجْعَلْ لَّكُمْ فُرْقَانًا وَّيُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّاٰتِكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيْمِ ٢٩

ID Translation Hai orang-orang beriman, jika kamu bertakwa kepada Allah, Kami akan memberikan kepadamu Furqaan. Dan kami akan jauhkan dirimu dari kesalahan-kesalahanmu, dan mengampuni (dosa-dosa)mu. Dan Allah mempunyai karunia yang besar.

EN Translation O you who have attained to faith! If you remain conscious of God. He will endow you with a standard by which to discern the true from the false, and will efface your bad deeds, and will forgive you your sins: for God is limitless in His great bounty.

وَاِذْ يَمْكُرُ بِكَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِيُثْبِتُوْكَ اَوْ يَقْتُلُوْكَ اَوْ يُخْرِجُوْكَۗ وَيَمْكُرُوْنَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللّٰهُ ۗوَاللّٰهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِيْنَ ٣٠

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika orang-orang kafir (Quraisy) memikirkan daya upaya terhadapmu untuk menangkap dan memenjarakanmu atau membunuhmu, atau mengusirmu. Mereka memikirkan tipu daya dan Allah menggagalkan tipu daya itu. Dan Allah sebaik-baik Pembalas tipu daya.

EN Translation AND [remember, O Prophet,] how those who were bent on denying the truth were scheming against thee, in order to restrain thee [from preaching], or to slay thee, or to drive thee away: thus have they [always] schemed: but God brought their scheming to nought-for God is above all schemers.

وَاِذَا تُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتُنَا قَالُوْا قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَاۤءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هٰذَآ ۙاِنْ هٰذَآ اِلَّآ اَسَاطِيْرُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ٣١

ID Translation Dan apabila dibacakan kepada mereka ayat-ayat Kami, mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami telah mendengar (ayat-ayat yang seperti ini), kalau kami menhendaki niscaya kami dapat membacakan yang seperti ini, (Al Quran) ini tidak lain hanyalah dongeng-dongengan orang-orang purbakala".

EN Translation And whenever Our messages were conveyed to them, they would say, "We have heard [all this] before; if we wanted, we could certainly compose sayings like these [ourselves]: they are nothing but fables of ancient times!"

وَاِذْ قَالُوا اللهم اِنْ كَانَ هٰذَا هُوَ الْحَقَّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ فَاَمْطِرْ عَلَيْنَا حِجَارَةً مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ اَوِ ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ ٣٢

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah), ketika mereka (orang-orang musyrik) berkata: "Ya Allah, jika betul (Al Quran) ini, dialah yang benar dari sisi Engkau, maka hujanilah kami dengan batu dari langit, atau datangkanlah kepada kami azab yang pedih".

EN Translation And, lo, they would say, "O God! If this. be indeed the truth from Thee, then rain down upon us stones from the skies, or inflict [some other] grievous suffering on us!"

وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَاَنْتَ فِيْهِمْۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ مُعَذِّبَهُمْ وَهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَ ٣٣

ID Translation Dan Allah sekali-kali tidak akan mengazab mereka, sedang kamu berada di antara mereka. Dan tidaklah (pula) Allah akan mengazab mereka, sedang mereka meminta ampun

EN Translation But God did not choose thus to chastise them whip thou [O Prophet] wert still among them, nor would God chastise them when they [might yet] ask for forgiveness.

وَمَا لَهُمْ اَلَّا يُعَذِّبَهُمُ اللّٰهُ وَهُمْ يَصُدُّوْنَ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَمَا كَانُوْٓا اَوْلِيَاۤءَهٗۗ اِنْ اَوْلِيَاۤؤُهٗٓ اِلَّا الْمُتَّقُوْنَ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٣٤

ID Translation Kenapa Allah tidak mengazab mereka padahal mereka menghalangi orang untuk (mendatangi) Masjidilharam, dan mereka bukanlah orang-orang yang berhak menguasainya? Orang-orang yang berhak menguasai(nya) hanyalah orang-orang yang bertakwa. tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak mengetahui.

EN Translation But what have they [now] in their favour that God should not chastise them-seeing that they bar [the believers] from the Inviolable House of Worship, although they are not its [rightful] guardians? None but the God-conscious can be its guardians: but of this most of these [evildoers] are unaware;

وَمَا كَانَ صَلَاتُهُمْ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ اِلَّا مُكَاۤءً وَّتَصْدِيَةًۗ فَذُوْقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُوْنَ ٣٥

ID Translation Sembahyang mereka di sekitar Baitullah itu, lain tidak hanyalah siulan dan tepukan tangan. Maka rasakanlah azab disebabkan kekafiranmu itu.

EN Translation and their prayers before the Temple are nothing but whistling and clapping of hands. Taste then, [O unbelievers,] this chastisement as an outcome of your persistent denial of the truth!

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَهُمْ لِيَصُدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۗفَسَيُنْفِقُوْنَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُوْنُ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسْرَةً ثُمَّ يُغْلَبُوْنَ ەۗ وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اِلٰى جَهَنَّمَ يُحْشَرُوْنَۙ ٣٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang kafir menafkahkan harta mereka untuk menghalangi (orang) dari jalan Allah. Mereka akan menafkahkan harta itu, kemudian menjadi sesalan bagi mereka, dan mereka akan dikalahkan. Dan ke dalam Jahannamlah orang-orang yang kafir itu dikumpulkan,

EN Translation Behold, those who are bent on denying the truth are spending their riches in order to turn others away from the path of God; and they will go on spending them until they become [a source of] intense regret for them; and then they will be overcome! And those who [until their death] have denied the truth shall be gathered unto hell,

لِيَمِيْزَ اللّٰهُ الْخَبِيْثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ وَيَجْعَلَ الْخَبِيْثَ بَعْضَهٗ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ فَيَرْكُمَهٗ جَمِيْعًا فَيَجْعَلَهٗ فِيْ جَهَنَّمَۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ ٣٧

ID Translation supaya Allah memisahkan (golongan) yang buruk dari yang baik dan menjadikan (golongan) yang buruk itu sebagiannya di atas sebagian yang lain, lalu kesemuanya ditumpukkan-Nya, dan dimasukkan-Nya ke dalam neraka Jahannam. Mereka itulah orang-orang yang merugi.

EN Translation so that God might separate the bad from the good, and join the bad with one another, and link them all together [within His condemnation], and then place them in hell. They, they are the lost!

قُلْ لِّلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اِنْ يَّنْتَهُوْا يُغْفَرْ لَهُمْ مَّا قَدْ سَلَفَۚ وَاِنْ يَّعُوْدُوْا فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّتُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ٣٨

ID Translation Katakanlah kepada orang-orang yang kafir itu: "Jika mereka berhenti (dari kekafirannya), niscaya Allah akan mengampuni mereka tentang dosa-dosa mereka yang sudah lalu; dan jika mereka kembali lagi sesungguhnya akan berlaku (kepada mereka) sunnah (Allah tenhadap) orang-orang dahulu".

EN Translation Tell those who are bent on denying the truth that if they desist, all that is past shall be forgiven them; but if they revert [to their wrongdoing], let them remember what happened to the like of them in times gone by.

وَقَاتِلُوْهُمْ حَتّٰى لَا تَكُوْنَ فِتْنَةٌ وَّيَكُوْنَ الدِّيْنُ كُلُّهٗ لِلّٰهِۚ فَاِنِ انْتَهَوْا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ ٣٩

ID Translation Dan perangilah mereka, supaya jangan ada fitnah dan supaya agama itu semata-mata untuk Allah. Jika mereka berhenti (dari kekafiran), maka sesungguhnya Allah Maha Melihat apa yang mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation And fight against them until there is no more oppression and all worship is devoted to God alone. And if they desist-behold, God sees all that they do;

وَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلٰىكُمْ ۗنِعْمَ الْمَوْلٰى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيْرُ ۔ ٤٠

ID Translation Dan jika mereka berpaling, maka ketahuilah bahwasanya Allah Pelindungmu. Dia adalah sebaik-baik Pelindung dan sebaik-baik Penolong.

EN Translation and if they turn away [from righteousness], know that God is your Lord Supreme: [and] how excellent is this Lord Supreme, and how excellent this Giver of Succour!
