حٰمۤ ۚ ١

ID Translation Haa Miim.

EN Translation Ha. Mim.

تَنْزِيْلُ الْكِتٰبِ مِنَ اللّٰهِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَكِيْمِ ٢

ID Translation Diturunkan Kitab ini dari Allah Yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation THE BESTOWAL from on high of this divine writ I issues from God, the Almighty, the Wise.

مَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ اِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَاَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىۗ وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا عَمَّآ اُنْذِرُوْا مُعْرِضُوْنَ ٣

ID Translation Kami tiada menciptakan langit dan bumi dan apa yang ada antara keduanya melainkan dengan (tujuan) yang benar dan dalam waktu yang ditentukan. Dan orang-orang yang kafir berpaling dari apa yang diperingatkan kepada mereka.

EN Translation We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them otherwise than in accord­ance with [an inner] truth, and for a term set [by Us]: and yet, they who are bent on denying the truth turn aside from the warning which has been conveyed unto them.

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ مَّا تَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَرُوْنِيْ مَاذَا خَلَقُوْا مِنَ الْاَرْضِ اَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ ۖائْتُوْنِيْ بِكِتٰبٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِ هٰذَآ اَوْ اَثٰرَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٤

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Terangkanlah kepadaku tentang apa yang kamu sembah selain Allah; perlihatkan kepada-Ku apakah yang telah mereka ciptakan dari bumi ini atau adakah mereka berserikat (dengan Allah) dalam (penciptaan) langit? Bawalah kepada-Ku Kitab yang sebelum (Al Quran) ini atau peninggalan dari pengetahuan (orang-orang dahulu), jika kamu adalah orang-orang yang benar"

EN Translation Say: “Have you [really] given thought to what it is that you invoke instead of God? Show me what these [beings or forces] have created anywhere on earth! Or had they, perchance, a share in [creating] the heavens? [If so,] bring me any divine writ pre­ceding this one, or any [other] vestige of knowledge - if what you claim is true!”

وَمَنْ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ يَّدْعُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مَنْ لَّا يَسْتَجِيْبُ لَهٗٓ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ وَهُمْ عَنْ دُعَاۤىِٕهِمْ غٰفِلُوْنَ ٥

ID Translation Dan siapakah yang lebih sesat daripada orang yang menyembah sembahan-sembahan selain Allah yang tiada dapat memperkenankan (doa)nya sampai hari kiamat dan mereka lalai dari (memperhatikan) doa mereka?

EN Translation And who could be more astray than one who invokes, instead of God, such as will not respond to him either now or on the Day of Resurrection, and are not even conscious of being invoked?

وَاِذَا حُشِرَ النَّاسُ كَانُوْا لَهُمْ اَعْدَاۤءً وَّكَانُوْا بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كٰفِرِيْنَ ٦

ID Translation Dan apabila manusia dikumpulkan (pada hari kiamat) niscaya sembahan-sembahan itu menjadi musuh mereka dan mengingkari pemujaan-pemujaan mereka.

EN Translation such as, when all mankind is gathered [for judgment], will be enemies unto those [who worshipped them], and will utterly reject their worship?

وَاِذَا تُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتُنَا بَيِّنٰتٍ قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْۙ هٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌۗ ٧

ID Translation Dan apabila dibacakan kepada mereka ayat-ayat Kami yang menjelaskan, berkatalah orang-orang yang mengingkari kebenaran ketika kebenaran itu datang kepada mereka: "Ini adalah sihir yang nyata".

EN Translation But whenever Our messages are conveyed to them in all their clarity, they who are bent on denying the truth speak thus of the truth as soon as it is brought to them: “This is clearly nothing but spell­binding eloquence!”

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُ ۗ قُلْ اِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهٗ فَلَا تَمْلِكُوْنَ لِيْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـًٔا ۗهُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيْضُوْنَ فِيْهِۗ كَفٰى بِهٖ شَهِيْدًا ۢ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۗ وَهُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ ٨

ID Translation Bahkan mereka mengatakan: "Dia (Muhammad) telah mengada-adakannya (Al Quran)". Katakanlah: "Jika aku mengada-adakannya, maka kamu tiada mempunyai kuasa sedikitpun mempertahankan aku dari (azab) Allah itu. Dia lebih mengetahui apa-apa yang kamu percakapkan tentang Al Quran itu. Cukuplah Dia menjadi saksi antaraku dan antaramu dan Dialah Yang Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang".

EN Translation Or do they say, “He has invented all this”? Say [O Muhammad]: “Had I invented it, you would not be of the least help to me against God. He is fully aware of that [slander] into which you so reck­lessly plunge: enough is He as a witness between me and you! And [withal,] He alone is truly-forgiving, a true dispenser of grace.”

قُلْ مَا كُنْتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ وَمَآ اَدْرِيْ مَا يُفْعَلُ بِيْ وَلَا بِكُمْۗ اِنْ اَتَّبِعُ اِلَّا مَا يُوْحٰٓى اِلَيَّ وَمَآ اَنَا۠ اِلَّا نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ٩

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Aku bukanlah rasul yang pertama di antara rasul-rasul dan aku tidak mengetahui apa yang akan diperbuat terhadapku dan tidak (pula) terhadapmu. Aku tidak lain hanyalah mengikuti apa yang diwahyukan kepadaku dan aku tidak lain hanyalah seorang pemberi peringatan yang menjelaskan".

EN Translation Say: “I am not the first of [God’s] apostles; and [like all of them,] I do not know what will be done with me or with you: for I am nothing but a plain warner.”

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ وَكَفَرْتُمْ بِهٖ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْۢ بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ عَلٰى مِثْلِهٖ فَاٰمَنَ وَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ١٠

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Terangkanlah kepadaku, bagaimanakah pendapatmu jika Al Quran itu datang dari sisi Allah, padahal kamu mengingkarinya dan seorang saksi dari Bani Israil mengakui (kebenaran) yang serupa dengan (yang tersebut dalam) Al Quran lalu dia beriman, sedang kamu menyombongkan diri. Sesungguhnya Allah tiada memberi petunjuk kepada orang-orang yang zalim".

EN Translation Say: “Have you given thought [to how you will fare] if this be truly [a revelation] from God and yet you deny its truth? - even though a witness from among the children of Israel has already borne wit­ness to [the advent of] one like himself, and has believed [in him], the while you glory in your arro­gance [and reject his message]? Verily, God does not grace [such] evildoing folk with His guidance!”

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُوْنَآ اِلَيْهِۗ وَاِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوْا بِهٖ فَسَيَقُوْلُوْنَ هٰذَآ اِفْكٌ قَدِيْمٌ ١١

ID Translation Dan orang-orang kafir berkata kepada orang-orang yang beriman: "Kalau sekiranya di (Al Quran) adalah suatu yang baik, tentulah mereka tiada mendahului kami (beriman) kepadanya. Dan karena mereka tidak mendapat petunjuk dengannya maka mereka akan berkata: "Ini adalah dusta yang lama".

EN Translation But they who are bent on denying the truth speak thus of those who have attained to faith: “If this [message] were any good, these [people] would not have preceded us in accepting it!” And since they refuse to be guided by it, they will always say, “This is [but] an ancient falsehood!”

وَمِنْ قَبْلِهٖ كِتٰبُ مُوْسٰٓى اِمَامًا وَّرَحْمَةً ۗوَهٰذَا كِتٰبٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنْذِرَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ۖوَبُشْرٰى لِلْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ١٢

ID Translation Dan sebelum Al Quran itu telah ada kitab Musa sebagai petunjuk dan rahmat. Dan ini (Al Quran) adalah kitab yang membenarkannya dalam bahasa Arab untuk memberi peringatan kepada orang-orang yang zalim dan memberi kabar gembira kepada orang-orang yang berbuat baik.

EN Translation And yet, before this there was the revelation of Moses, a guide and a [sign of God’s] grace; and this [Qur’an] is a divine writ confirming the truth [of the Torah] in the Arabic tongue, to warn those who are bent on evildoing, and [to bring] a glad tiding to the doers of good:

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ قَالُوْا رَبُّنَا اللّٰهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوْا فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُوْنَۚ ١٣

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang mengatakan: "Tuhan kami ialah Allah", kemudian mereka tetap istiqamah maka tidak ada kekhawatiran terhadap mereka dan mereka tiada (pula) berduka cita.

EN Translation for, behold, all who say, “Our Sustainer is God”, and thereafter stand firm [in their faith] - no fear need they have, and neither shall they grieve:

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ اَصْحٰبُ الْجَنَّةِ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۚ جَزَاۤءً ۢبِمَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٤

ID Translation Mereka itulah penghuni-penghuni surga, mereka kekal di dalamnya; sebagai balasan atas apa yang telah mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation it is they who are destined for paradise, therein to abide as a reward for all that they have done.

وَوَصَّيْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ اِحْسَانًا ۗحَمَلَتْهُ اُمُّهٗ كُرْهًا وَّوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًا ۗوَحَمْلُهٗ وَفِصٰلُهٗ ثَلٰثُوْنَ شَهْرًا ۗحَتّٰىٓ اِذَا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّهٗ وَبَلَغَ اَرْبَعِيْنَ سَنَةًۙ قَالَ رَبِّ اَوْزِعْنِيْٓ اَنْ اَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِيْٓ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلٰى وَالِدَيَّ وَاَنْ اَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضٰىهُ وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ فِيْ ذُرِّيَّتِيْۗ اِنِّيْ تُبْتُ اِلَيْكَ وَاِنِّيْ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ ١٥

ID Translation Kami perintahkan kepada manusia supaya berbuat baik kepada dua orang ibu bapaknya, ibunya mengandungnya dengan susah payah, dan melahirkannya dengan susah payah (pula). Mengandungnya sampai menyapihnya adalah tiga puluh bulan, sehingga apabila dia telah dewasa dan umurnya sampai empat puluh tahun ia berdoa: "Ya Tuhanku, tunjukilah aku untuk mensyukuri nikmat Engkau yang telah Engkau berikan kepadaku dan kepada ibu bapakku dan supaya aku dapat berbuat amal yang saleh yang Engkau ridhai; berilah kebaikan kepadaku dengan (memberi kebaikan) kepada anak cucuku. Sesungguhnya aku bertaubat kepada Engkau dan sesungguhnya aku termasuk orang-orang yang berserah diri".

EN Translation NOW [among the best of the deeds which] We have enjoined upon man is goodness towards his parents. In pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth; and her bearing him and his utter dependence on her took thirty months. and so, when he attains to full maturity and reaches forty years, he [that is righteous] prays: “O my Sustainer! Inspire me so that I may forever be grateful for those blessings of Thine with which Thou hast graced me and my parents, and that I may do what is right [in a manner] that will meet with Thy goodly acceptance; and grant me righteousness in my offspring [as well]. Verily, unto Thee have I turned in repentance: for, verily, I am of those who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!”

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ اَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوْا وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَنْ سَيِّاٰتِهِمْ فِيْٓ اَصْحٰبِ الْجَنَّةِۗ وَعْدَ الصِّدْقِ الَّذِيْ كَانُوْا يُوْعَدُوْنَ ١٦

ID Translation Mereka itulah orang-orang yang Kami terima dari mereka amal yang baik yang telah mereka kerjakan dan Kami ampuni kesalahan-kesalahan mereka, bersama penghuni-penghuni surga, sebagai janji yang benar yang telah dijanjikan kepada mereka.

EN Translation It is [such as] these from whom We shall accept the best that they ever did, and whose bad deeds We shall overlook: [they will find themselves] among those who are destined for paradise, in fulfillment of the true promise which they were given [in this world].

وَالَّذِيْ قَالَ لِوَالِدَيْهِ اُفٍّ لَّكُمَآ اَتَعِدَانِنِيْٓ اَنْ اُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ الْقُرُوْنُ مِنْ قَبْلِيْۚ وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيْثٰنِ اللّٰهَ وَيْلَكَ اٰمِنْ ۖاِنَّ وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّۚ فَيَقُوْلُ مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّآ اَسَاطِيْرُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Dan orang yang berkata kepada dua orang ibu bapaknya: "Cis bagi kamu keduanya, apakah kamu keduanya memperingatkan kepadaku bahwa aku akan dibangkitkan, padahal sungguh telah berlalu beberapa umat sebelumku? lalu kedua ibu bapaknya itu memohon pertolongan kepada Allah seraya mengatakan: "Celaka kamu, berimanlah! Sesungguhnya janji Allah adalah benar". Lalu dia berkata: "Ini tidak lain hanyalah dongengan orang-orang dahulu belaka".

EN Translation But [there is many a one] who says to his parents [whenever they try to imbue him with faith in God]: “Fie upon both of you! Do you promise me that I shall be brought forth [from the dead], although [so many] generations have passed away before me?” And [while] they both pray for God’s help [and say], “Alas for thee! For, behold, God’s promise always comes true!” - he but answers, “All this is nothing but fables of ancient times!”

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِيْٓ اُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ ۗاِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا خٰسِرِيْنَ ١٨

ID Translation Mereka itulah orang-orang yang telah pasti ketetapan (azab) atas mereka bersama umat-umat yang telah berlalu sebelum mereka dari jin dan manusia. Sesungguhnya mereka adalah orang-orang yang merugi.

EN Translation It is [such as] these upon whom the sentence [of doom] will fall due, together with the [other sinful] communities of invisible beings and humans that have passed away before their time. Verily, they will be lost:

وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجٰتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوْاۚ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ اَعْمَالَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُوْنَ ١٩

ID Translation Dan bagi masing-masing mereka derajat menurut apa yang telah mereka kerjakan dan agar Allah mencukupkan bagi mereka (balasan) pekerjaan-pekerjaan mereka sedang mereka tiada dirugikan.

EN Translation for, [in the life to come,] all shall have their degrees in accordance with whatever [good or evil] they did: and so, He will repay them in full for their doings, and none shall be wronged.

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا عَلَى النَّارِۗ اَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبٰتِكُمْ فِيْ حَيَاتِكُمُ الدُّنْيَا وَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِهَاۚ فَالْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ الْهُوْنِ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَفْسُقُوْنَ ٢٠

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (ketika) orang-orang kafir dihadapkan ke neraka (kepada mereka dikatakan): "Kamu telah menghabiskan rezekimu yang baik dalam kehidupan duniawimu (saja) dan kamu telah bersenang-senang dengannya; maka pada hari ini kamu dibalasi dengan azab yang menghinakan karena kamu telah menyombongkan diri di muka bumi tanpa hak dan karena kamu telah fasik".

EN Translation And on the Day when those who were bent on denying the truth will be brought within sight of the fire, [they will be told:] “You have exhausted your [share of] good things in your worldly life, having enjoyed them [without any thought of the hereafter]: and so today you shall be requited with the suffering of humiliation for having gloried on earth in your arrogance, offending against all that is right, and for all your iniquitous doings!”

۞ وَاذْكُرْ اَخَا عَادٍۗ اِذْ اَنْذَرَ قَوْمَهٗ بِالْاَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ النُّذُرُ مِنْۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهٖٓ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنِّيْٓ اَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيْمٍ ٢١

ID Translation Dan ingatlah (Hud) saudara kaum 'Aad yaitu ketika dia memberi peringatan kepada kaumnya di Al Ahqaaf dan sesungguhnya telah terdahulu beberapa orang pemberi peringatan sebelumnya dan sesudahnya (dengan mengatakan): "Janganlah kamu menyembah selain Allah, sesungguhnya aku khawatir kamu akan ditimpa azab hari yang besar".

EN Translation AND REMEMBER that brother of [the tribe of] Ad, how - seeing that [other] warnings had already come and gone within his own knowledge as well as in times beyond his ken - he warned his people [who lived] among those sand-dunes: “Worship none but God! Verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on an awesome day!”

قَالُوْٓا اَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ اٰلِهَتِنَاۚ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٢٢

ID Translation Mereka menjawab: "Apakah kamu datang kepada kami untuk memalingkan kami dari (menyembah) tuhan-tuhan kami? Maka datangkanlah kepada kami azab yang telah kamu ancamkan kepada kami jika kamu termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation They answered: “Hast thou come to seduce us away from our gods? Bring, then, upon us that [doom] with which thou threaten us, if thou art a man of truth!”

قَالَ اِنَّمَا الْعِلْمُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ ۖوَاُبَلِّغُكُمْ مَّآ اُرْسِلْتُ بِهٖ وَلٰكِنِّيْٓ اَرٰىكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُوْنَ ٢٣

ID Translation Ia berkata: "Sesungguhnya pengetahuan (tentang itu) hanya pada sisi Allah dan aku (hanya) menyampaikan kepadamu apa yang aku diutus dengan membawanya tetapi aku lihat kamu adalah kaum yang bodoh".

EN Translation Said he: “Knowledge [of when it is to befall you] rests with God alone: I but convey unto you the message with which I have been entrusted; but I see that you are people ignorant [of right and wrong]!”

فَلَمَّا رَاَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ اَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوْا هٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا ۗبَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُمْ بِهٖ ۗرِيْحٌ فِيْهَا عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌۙ ٢٤

ID Translation Maka tatkala mereka melihat azab itu berupa awan yang menuju ke lembah-lembah mereka, berkatalah mereka: "Inilah awan yang akan menurunkan hujan kepada kami". (Bukan!) bahkan itulah azab yang kamu minta supaya datang dengan segera (yaitu) angin yang mengandung azab yang pedih,

EN Translation And so, when they beheld it in the shape of a dense cloud approaching their valleys, they exclaimed, “This is but a heavy cloud which will bring us [wel­come] rain!” [But Hud said:] “Nay, but it is the very thing which you [so contemptuously] sought to hasten - a wind bearing grievous suffering,

تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍۢ بِاَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَاَصْبَحُوْا لَا يُرٰىٓ اِلَّا مَسٰكِنُهُمْۗ كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِى الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ٢٥

ID Translation yang menghancurkan segala sesuatu dengan perintah Tuhannya, maka jadilah mereka tidak ada yang kelihatan lagi kecuali (bekas-bekas) tempat tinggal mereka. Demikianlah Kami memberi balasan kepada kaum yang berdosa.

EN Translation bound to destroy everything at its Sustainer’s behest!” And then they were so utterly wiped out that nothing could be seen save their [empty] dwellings: thus do We requite people lost in sin.

وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنّٰهُمْ فِيْمَآ اِنْ مَّكَّنّٰكُمْ فِيْهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَّاَبْصَارًا وَّاَفْـِٕدَةًۖ فَمَآ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَآ اَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَآ اَفْـِٕدَتُهُمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ اِذْ كَانُوْا يَجْحَدُوْنَ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ٢٦

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah meneguhkan kedudukan mereka dalam hal-hal yang Kami belum pernah meneguhkan kedudukanmu dalam hal itu dan Kami telah memberikan kepada mereka pendengaran, penglihatan dan hati; tetapi pendengaran, penglihatan dan hati mereka itu tidak berguna sedikit juapun bagi mereka, karena mereka selalu mengingkari ayat-ayat Allah dan mereka telah diliputi oleh siksa yang dahulu selalu mereka memperolok-olokkannya.

EN Translation And yet, We had established them securely in a manner in which We have never established you, [O people of later times;] and We had endowed them with hearing, and sight, and [knowledgeable] hearts: but neither their hearing, nor their sight, nor their hearts were of the least avail to them, seeing that they went on rejecting God’s messages; and [in the end] they were overwhelmed by the very thing which they had been wont to deride.

وَلَقَدْ اَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُمْ مِّنَ الْقُرٰى وَصَرَّفْنَا الْاٰيٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُوْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah membinasakan negeri-negeri di sekitarmu dan Kami telah mendatangkan tanda-tanda kebesaran Kami berulang-ulang supaya mereka kembali (bertaubat).

EN Translation Thus have We destroyed many a [sinful] community living round about you; and yet, [before destroying them,] We had given many facets to [Our warning] messages, so that they might turn back [from their evil ways].

فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ قُرْبَانًا اٰلِهَةً ۗبَلْ ضَلُّوْا عَنْهُمْۚ وَذٰلِكَ اِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوْا يَفْتَرُوْنَ ٢٨

ID Translation Maka mengapa yang mereka sembah selain Allah sebagai Tuhan untuk mendekatkan diri (kepada Allah) tidak dapat menolong mereka. Bahkan tuhan-tuhan itu telah lenyap dari mereka? Itulah akibat kebohongan mereka dan apa yang dahulu mereka ada-adakan.

EN Translation But, then, did those [beings] whom they had chosen to worship as deities beside God, hoping that they would bring them nearer [to Him], help them [in the end]? Nay, they forsook them: for that [alleged divinity] was but an outcome of their self-delusion and all their false imagery.

وَاِذْ صَرَفْنَآ اِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُوْنَ الْقُرْاٰنَۚ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوْهُ قَالُوْٓا اَنْصِتُوْاۚ فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوْا اِلٰى قَوْمِهِمْ مُّنْذِرِيْنَ ٢٩

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) ketika Kami hadapkan serombongan jin kepadamu yang mendengarkan Al Quran, maka tatkala mereka menghadiri pembacaan(nya) lalu mereka berkata: "Diamlah kamu (untuk mendengarkannya)". Ketika pembacaan telah selesai mereka kembali kepada kaumnya (untuk) memberi peringatan.

EN Translation AND LO! We caused a group of unseen beings to incline towards thee, [O Muhammad,] so that they might give ear to the Qur’an; and so, as soon as they became aware of it, they said [unto one another], “Listen in silence!” And when [the recitation] was ended, they returned to their people as warners.

قَالُوْا يٰقَوْمَنَآ اِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتٰبًا اُنْزِلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مُوْسٰى مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِيْٓ اِلَى الْحَقِّ وَاِلٰى طَرِيْقٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ٣٠

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Hai kaum kami, sesungguhnya kami telah mendengarkan kitab (Al Quran) yang telah diturunkan sesudah Musa yang membenarkan kitab-kitab yang sebelumnya lagi memimpin kepada kebenaran dan kepada jalan yang lurus.

EN Translation They said: “O our people! Behold, we have been listening to a revelation bestowed from on high after [that of] Moses, confirming the truth of what­ever there still remains [of the Torah]: it guides towards the truth, and onto a straight way.

يٰقَوْمَنَآ اَجِيْبُوْا دَاعِيَ اللّٰهِ وَاٰمِنُوْا بِهٖ يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ مِّنْ ذُنُوْبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ ٣١

ID Translation Hai kaum kami, terimalah (seruan) orang yang menyeru kepada Allah dan berimanlah kepada-Nya, niscaya Allah akan mengampuni dosa-dosa kamu dan melepaskan kamu dari azab yang pedih.

EN Translation “O our people! Respond to God’s call, and have faith in Him: He will forgive you [whatever is past] of your sins, and deliver you from grievous suffering [in the life to come].

وَمَنْ لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللّٰهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهٗ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖٓ اَوْلِيَاۤءُ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ فِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٣٢

ID Translation Dan orang yang tidak menerima (seruan) orang yang menyeru kepada Allah maka dia tidak akan melepaskan diri dari azab Allah di muka bumi dan tidak ada baginya pelindung selain Allah. Mereka itu dalam kesesatan yang nyata".

EN Translation But he who does not respond to God’s call can never elude [Him] on earth, nor can he has any protector against Him [in the life to come]: all such are most obviously lost in error.”

اَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْيَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلٰٓى اَنْ يُّحْيِ َۧ الْمَوْتٰى ۗبَلٰٓى اِنَّهٗ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ٣٣

ID Translation Dan apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan bahwa sesungguhnya Allah yang menciptakan langit dan bumi dan Dia tidak merasa payah karena menciptakannya, kuasa menghidupkan orang-orang mati? Ya (bahkan) sesungguhnya Dia Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu.

EN Translation ARE, THEN, they [who deny the life to come] not aware that God, who has created the heavens and the earth and never been wearied by their creation, has [also] the power to bring the dead back to life? Yea, verily, He has the power to will anything!

وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا عَلَى النَّارِۗ اَلَيْسَ هٰذَا بِالْحَقِّ ۗ قَالُوْا بَلٰى وَرَبِّنَا ۗقَالَ فَذُوْقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُوْنَ ٣٤

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (ketika) orang-orang kafir dihadapkan kepada neraka, (dikatakan kepada mereka): "Bukankah (azab) ini benar?" Mereka menjawab: "Ya benar, demi Tuhan kami". Allah berfirman "Maka rasakanlah azab ini disebabkan kamu selalu ingkar".

EN Translation And so, on the Day when those who were bent on denying the truth will be brought within sight of the fire [and will be asked], “Is not this the truth?” - they will answer, “Yea, by Our Sustainer!” [And] He will say: “Taste, then, this suffering as an outcome of your denial of the truth!”

فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ اُولُوا الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلْ لَّهُمْ ۗ كَاَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوْعَدُوْنَۙ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوْٓا اِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّنْ نَّهَارٍ ۗ بَلٰغٌ ۚفَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ اِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْفٰسِقُوْنَ ٣٥

ID Translation Maka bersabarlah kamu seperti orang-orang yang mempunyai keteguhan hati dari rasul-rasul telah bersabar dan janganlah kamu meminta disegerakan (azab) bagi mereka. Pada hari mereka melihat azab yang diancamkan kepada mereka (merasa) seolah-olah tidak tinggal (di dunia) melainkan sesaat pada siang hari. (Inilah) suatu pelajaran yang cukup, maka tidak dibinasakan melainkan kaum yang fasik.

EN Translation REMAIN, then, [O believer,] patient in adversity, just as all of the apostles, endowed with firmness of heart, bore themselves with patience. And do not ask for a speedy doom of those [who still deny the truth]: on the Day when they see [the fulfillment of] what they were promised, [it will seem to them] as though they had dwelt [on earth] no longer than one hour of [an earthly] day! [This is Our] message. Will, then, any be [really] destroyed save iniquitous folk?”

اَلَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ اَضَلَّ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ١

ID Translation Orang-orang yang kafir dan menghalangi (manusia) dari jalan Allah, Allah menyesatkan perbuatan-perbuatan mereka.

EN Translation AS FOR THOSE who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God - all their [good] deeds will He let go to waste;

وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَاٰمَنُوْا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۚ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّاٰتِهِمْ وَاَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْ ٢

ID Translation Dan orang-orang mukmin dan beramal soleh serta beriman kepada apa yang diturunkan kepada Muhammad dan itulah yang haq dari Tuhan mereka, Allah menghapuskan kesalahan-kesalahan mereka dan memperbaiki keadaan mereka.

EN Translation whereas those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds, and have come to believe in what has been bestowed from on high on Muhammad - for it is the truth from their Sustainer - [shall attain to God’s grace:] He will efface their [past] bad deeds, and will set their hearts at rest.

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْبَاطِلَ وَاَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْحَقَّ مِنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۗ كَذٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ اَمْثَالَهُمْ ٣

ID Translation Yang demikian adalah karena sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir mengikuti yang bathil dan sesungguhnya orang-orang mukmin mengikuti yang haq dari Tuhan mereka. Demikianlah Allah membuat untuk manusia perbandingan-perbandingan bagi mereka.

EN Translation This, because they who are bent on denying the truth pursue falsehood, whereas they who have attained to faith pursue [but] the truth [that flows] from their Sustainer. In this way does God set forth unto man the parables of their true state.

فَاِذَا لَقِيْتُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِۗ حَتّٰٓى اِذَآ اَثْخَنْتُمُوْهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَۖ فَاِمَّا مَنًّاۢ بَعْدُ وَاِمَّا فِدَاۤءً حَتّٰى تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ اَوْزَارَهَا ەۛ ذٰلِكَ ۛ وَلَوْ يَشَاۤءُ اللّٰهُ لَانْتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ لِّيَبْلُوَا۟ بَعْضَكُمْ بِبَعْضٍۗ وَالَّذِيْنَ قُتِلُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ فَلَنْ يُّضِلَّ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ٤

ID Translation Apabila kamu bertemu dengan orang-orang kafir (di medan perang) maka pancunglah batang leher mereka. Sehingga apabila kamu telah mengalahkan mereka maka tawanlah mereka dan sesudah itu kamu boleh membebaskan mereka atau menerima tebusan sampai perang berakhir. Demikianlah apabila Allah menghendaki niscaya Allah akan membinasakan mereka tetapi Allah hendak menguji sebahagian kamu dengan sebahagian yang lain. Dan orang-orang yang syahid pada jalan Allah, Allah tidak akan menyia-nyiakan amal mereka.

EN Translation NOW WHEN you meet [in war] those who are bent on denying the truth, smite their necks until you overcome them fully, and then tighten their bonds; but thereafter [set them free,] either by an act of grace or against ransom, so that the burden of war may be lifted: thus [shall it be]. And [know that] had God so willed, He could indeed punish them [Himself]; but [He wills you to struggle] so as to test you [all] by means of one another. And as for those who are slain in God’s cause, never will He let their deeds go to waste:

سَيَهْدِيْهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْۚ ٥

ID Translation Allah akan memberi pimpinan kepada mereka dan memperbaiki keadaan mereka,

EN Translation He will guide them [in the hereafter as well], and will set their hearts at rest,

وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْ ٦

ID Translation dan memasukkan mereka ke dalam jannah yang telah diperkenankan-Nya kepada mereka.

EN Translation and will admit them to the paradise which He has promised them.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنْ تَنْصُرُوا اللّٰهَ يَنْصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ اَقْدَامَكُمْ ٧

ID Translation Hai orang-orang mukmin, jika kamu menolong (agama) Allah, niscaya Dia akan menolongmu dan meneguhkan kedudukanmu.

EN Translation O you who have attained to faith! If you help [the cause of] God, He will help you, and will make firm your steps;

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَاَضَلَّ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ٨

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang kafir, maka kecelakaanlah bagi mereka dan Allah menyesatkan amal-amal mereka.

EN Translation but as for those who are bent on denying the truth, ill fortune awaits them, since He will let all their [good] deeds go to waste:

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوْا مَآ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ فَاَحْبَطَ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ٩

ID Translation Yang demikian itu adalah karena Sesungguhnya mereka benci kepada apa yang diturunkan Allah (Al Quran) lalu Allah menghapuskan (pahala-pahala) amal-amal mereka.

EN Translation this, because they hate [the very thought of] what God has bestowed from on high and thus He causes all their deeds to come to nought!

۞ اَفَلَمْ يَسِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۗ دَمَّرَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖوَلِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ اَمْثَالُهَا ١٠

ID Translation Maka apakah mereka tidak mengadakan perjalanan di muka bumi sehingga mereka dapat memperhatikan bagaimana kesudahan orang-orang sebelum mereka; Allah telah menimpakan kebinasaan atas mereka dan orang-orang kafir akan menerima (akibat-akibat) seperti itu.

EN Translation Have they, then, never journeyed about the earth and beheld what happened in the end to those [willful sinners] who lived before their time? God destroyed them utterly: and the like thereof awaits all who deny the truth.

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مَوْلَى الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَاَنَّ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ لَا مَوْلٰى لَهُمْ ١١

ID Translation Yang demikian itu karena sesungguhnya Allah adalah pelindung orang-orang yang beriman dan karena sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir itu tidak mempunyai pelindung.

EN Translation This, because God is the Protector of all who have attained to faith, whereas they who deny the truth have no protector.

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُدْخِلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ۗوَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يَتَمَتَّعُوْنَ وَيَأْكُلُوْنَ كَمَا تَأْكُلُ الْاَنْعَامُ وَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ ١٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Allah memasukkan orang-orang mukmin dan beramal saleh ke dalam jannah yang mengalir di bawahnya sungai-sungai. Dan orang-orang kafir bersenang-senang (di dunia) dan mereka makan seperti makannya binatang. Dan jahannam adalah tempat tinggal mereka.

EN Translation Verily, God will admit all who attain to faith and do righteous deeds into gardens through which running waters flow, whereas they who are bent on denying the truth shall have - even though they may enjoy their life [in this world] and eat as cattle eat - the fire [of the hereafter] for their abode.

وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ هِيَ اَشَدُّ قُوَّةً مِّنْ قَرْيَتِكَ الَّتِيْٓ اَخْرَجَتْكَۚ اَهْلَكْنٰهُمْ فَلَا نَاصِرَ لَهُمْ ١٣

ID Translation Dan betapa banyaknya negeri yang (penduduknya) lebih kuat dari pada (penduduk) negerimu (Muhammad) yang telah mengusirmu itu. Kami telah membinasakan mereka, maka tidak ada seorang penolongpun bagi mereka.

EN Translation And how many a community of greater power than this thy community which has driven thee out, [O Muhammad,] have We destroyed, with none to succour them!

اَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ كَمَنْ زُيِّنَ لَهٗ سُوْۤءُ عَمَلِهٖ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ ١٤

ID Translation Maka apakah orang yang berpegang pada keterangan yang datang dari Rabbnya sama dengan orang yang (shaitan) menjadikan dia memandang baik perbuatannya yang buruk itu dan mengikuti hawa nafsunya?

EN Translation CAN, THEN, he who takes his stand on a clear evidence from his Sustainer be likened Unto one to whom the evil of his own doings [always] seems goodly, and unto such as would follow but their own lusts?

مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِيْ وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُوْنَ ۗفِيْهَآ اَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ مَّاۤءٍ غَيْرِ اٰسِنٍۚ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ لَّبَنٍ لَّمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ طَعْمُهٗ ۚوَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ خَمْرٍ لَّذَّةٍ لِّلشّٰرِبِيْنَ ەۚ وَاَنْهٰرٌ مِّنْ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّى ۗوَلَهُمْ فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرٰتِ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّهِمْ ۗ كَمَنْ هُوَ خَالِدٌ فِى النَّارِ وَسُقُوْا مَاۤءً حَمِيْمًا فَقَطَّعَ اَمْعَاۤءَهُمْ ١٥

ID Translation (Apakah) perumpamaan (penghuni) jannah yang dijanjikan kepada orang-orang yang bertakwa yang di dalamnya ada sungai-sungai dari air yang tiada berubah rasa dan baunya, sungai-sungai dari air susu yang tidak berubah rasanya, sungai-sungai dari khamar yang lezat rasanya bagi peminumnya dan sungai-sungai dari madu yang disaring; dan mereka memperoleh di dalamnya segala macam buah-buahan dan ampunan dari Rabb mereka, sama dengan orang yang kekal dalam jahannam dan diberi minuman dengan air yang mendidih sehingga memotong ususnya?

EN Translation [And can] the parable of the paradise which the God-conscious are promised [a paradise] wherein there are rivers of water which time does not corrupt, and rivers of milk the taste whereof never alters, and rivers of wine delightful to those who drink it, and rivers of honey of all impurity cleansed, and the enjoyment of all the fruits [of their good deeds] and of forgiveness from their Sustainer -: can this [parable of paradise] be likened unto [the parable of the recompense of] such as are to abide in the fire and be given waters of burning despair to drink, so that it will tear their bowels asunder?

وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ يَّسْتَمِعُ اِلَيْكَۚ حَتّٰىٓ اِذَا خَرَجُوْا مِنْ عِنْدِكَ قَالُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ مَاذَا قَالَ اٰنِفًا ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ طَبَعَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْ ١٦

ID Translation Dan di antara mereka ada orang yang mendengarkan perkataanmu sehingga apabila mereka keluar dari sisimu orang-orang berkata kepada orang yang telah diberi ilmu pengetahuan (sahabat-sahabat Nabi): "Apakah yang dikatakannya tadi?" Mereka itulah orang-orang yang dikunci mati hati mereka oleh Allah dan mengikuti hawa nafsu mereka.

EN Translation Now among those [hapless sinners] are such as [pretend to] listen to thee, [O Muhammad,] and then, as soon as they leave thy presence, speak [with scorn] unto those who have understood [thy mes­sage]: “What is it that he has said just now?” It is such as these whose hearts God has sealed because they [always] followed but their own lusts

وَالَّذِيْنَ اهْتَدَوْا زَادَهُمْ هُدًى وَّاٰتٰىهُمْ تَقْوٰىهُمْ ١٧

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang mau menerima petunjuk, Allah menambah petunjuk kepada mereka dan memberikan balasan ketakwaannya.

EN Translation just as for those who are [willing to be] guided, He increases their [ability to follow His] guidance and causes them to grow in God-consciousness.

فَهَلْ يَنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَّا السَّاعَةَ اَنْ تَأْتِيَهُمْ بَغْتَةً ۚ فَقَدْ جَاۤءَ اَشْرَاطُهَا ۚ فَاَنّٰى لَهُمْ اِذَا جَاۤءَتْهُمْ ذِكْرٰىهُمْ ١٨

ID Translation Maka tidaklah yang mereka tunggu-tunggu melainkan hari kiamat (yaitu) kedatangannya kepada mereka dengan tiba-tiba, karena sesungguhnya telah datang tanda-tandanya. Maka apakah faedahnya bagi mereka kesadaran mereka itu apabila Kiamat sudah datang?

EN Translation Are, then, they [whose hearts are sealed] wait­ing for the Last Hour - [waiting] that it come upon them of a sudden? But it has already been foretold! And what will their remembrance [of their past sins] avail them, once it has come upon them?

فَاعْلَمْ اَنَّهٗ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْۢبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِۚ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مُتَقَلَّبَكُمْ وَمَثْوٰىكُمْ ١٩

ID Translation Maka ketahuilah, bahwa sesungguhnya tidak ada Ilah (sesembahan, tuhan) selain Allah dan mohonlah ampunan bagi dosamu dan bagi (dosa) orang-orang mukmin, laki-laki dan perempuan. Dan Allah mengetahui tempat kamu berusaha dan tempat kamu tinggal.

EN Translation Know, then, [O man,] that there is no deity save God, and [while there is yet time,] ask forgive­ness for thy sins and for [the sins of] all other believing men and women: for God knows all your comings and goings as well as your abiding [at rest].

وَيَقُوْلُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَتْ سُوْرَةٌ ۚفَاِذَآ اُنْزِلَتْ سُوْرَةٌ مُّحْكَمَةٌ وَّذُكِرَ فِيْهَا الْقِتَالُ ۙرَاَيْتَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ يَّنْظُرُوْنَ اِلَيْكَ نَظَرَ الْمَغْشِيِّ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَوْتِۗ فَاَوْلٰى لَهُمْۚ ٢٠

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang beriman berkata: "Mengapa tiada diturunkan suatu surat?" Maka apabila diturunkan suatu surat yang jelas maksudnya dan disebutkan di dalamnya (perintah) perang, kamu lihat orang-orang yang ada penyakit di dalam hatinya memandang kepadamu seperti pandangan orang yang pingsan karena takut mati, dan kecelakaanlah bagi mereka.

EN Translation NOW THOSE who have attained to faith say, “Would that a revelation [allowing us to fight] was bestowed from on high!” But now that a revelation clear in and by itself, mentioning war, has been bestowed from on high, thou canst see those in whose hearts is disease look­ing at thee, [O Muhammad,] with the look of one who is about to faint for fear of death! And yet, far better for them would be

طَاعَةٌ وَّقَوْلٌ مَّعْرُوْفٌۗ فَاِذَا عَزَمَ الْاَمْرُۗ فَلَوْ صَدَقُوا اللّٰهَ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْۚ ٢١

ID Translation Taat dan mengucapkan perkataan yang baik (adalah lebih baik bagi mereka). Apabila telah tetap perintah perang (mereka tidak menyukainya). Tetapi jikalau mereka benar (imannya) terhadap Allah, niscaya yang demikian itu lebih baik bagi mereka.

EN Translation obedience [to God’s call] and a word that could win [His] approval: for, since the matter has been resolved [by His revelation], it would be but for their own good to remain true to God.

فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ اِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ اَنْ تُفْسِدُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوْٓا اَرْحَامَكُمْ ٢٢

ID Translation Maka apakah kiranya jika kamu berkuasa kamu akan membuat kerusakan di muka bumi dan memutuskan hubungan kekeluargaan?

EN Translation [Ask them:] “Would you, perchance, after having turned away [from God’s commandment, pre­fer to revert to your old ways, and] spread corruption on earth, and [once again] cut asunder your ties of kinship?”

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللّٰهُ فَاَصَمَّهُمْ وَاَعْمٰٓى اَبْصَارَهُمْ ٢٣

ID Translation Mereka itulah orang-orang yang dilaknati Allah dan ditulikan-Nya telinga mereka dan dibutakan-Nya penglihatan mereka.

EN Translation It is such as these whom God rejects, and whom He makes deaf [to the voice of truth], and whose eyes He blinds [to its sight]!

اَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُوْنَ الْقُرْاٰنَ اَمْ عَلٰى قُلُوْبٍ اَقْفَالُهَا ٢٤

ID Translation Maka apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan Al Quran ataukah hati mereka terkunci?

EN Translation Will they not, then, ponder over this Qur’an? - or are there locks upon their hearts?

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ ارْتَدُّوْا عَلٰٓى اَدْبَارِهِمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدَى الشَّيْطٰنُ سَوَّلَ لَهُمْۗ وَاَمْلٰى لَهُمْ ٢٥

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang kembali ke belakang (kepada kekafiran) sesudah petunjuk itu jelas bagi mereka, syaitan telah menjadikan mereka mudah (berbuat dosa) dan memanjangkan angan-angan mereka.

EN Translation VERILY, those who turn their backs [on this mes­sage] after guidance has been vouchsafed to them, [do it because] Satan has embellished their fancies and filled them with false hopes:

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ قَالُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ كَرِهُوْا مَا نَزَّلَ اللّٰهُ سَنُطِيْعُكُمْ فِيْ بَعْضِ الْاَمْرِۚ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اِسْرَارَهُمْ ٢٦

ID Translation Yang demikian itu karena sesungguhnya mereka (orang-orang munafik) itu berkata kepada orang-orang yang benci kepada apa yang diturunkan Allah (orang-orang Yahudi): "Kami akan mematuhi kamu dalam beberapa urusan", sedang Allah mengetahui rahasia mereka.

EN Translation [they do turn their backs on it] inasmuch as they are wont to say unto those who abhor all that God has revealed, “We will comply with your views on some points.” But God knows their secret thoughts:

فَكَيْفَ اِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلٰۤىِٕكَةُ يَضْرِبُوْنَ وُجُوْهَهُمْ وَاَدْبَارَهُمْ ٢٧

ID Translation Bagaimanakah (keadaan mereka) apabila malaikat mencabut nyawa mereka seraya memukul-mukul muka mereka dan punggung mereka?

EN Translation hence, how [will they fare] when the angels gather them in death, striking their faces and their backs?

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمُ اتَّبَعُوْا مَآ اَسْخَطَ اللّٰهَ وَكَرِهُوْا رِضْوَانَهٗ فَاَحْبَطَ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ٢٨

ID Translation Yang demikian itu adalah karena sesungguhnya mereka mengikuti apa yang menimbulkan kemurkaan Allah dan karena mereka membenci keridhaan-Nya, sebab itu Allah menghapus (pahala) amal-amal mereka.

EN Translation This, because they were wont to pursue what God con­demns and to hate [whatever would meet with] His goodly acceptance: and so He has caused all their [good] deeds to come to nought.

اَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِيْنَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَّرَضٌ اَنْ لَّنْ يُّخْرِجَ اللّٰهُ اَضْغَانَهُمْ ٢٩

ID Translation Atau apakah orang-orang yang ada penyakit dalam hatinya mengira bahwa Allah tidak akan menampakkan kedengkian mereka?

EN Translation Or do they in whose hearts is disease think, perchance, that God would never bring their moral failings to light?

وَلَوْ نَشَاۤءُ لَاَرَيْنٰكَهُمْ فَلَعَرَفْتَهُمْ بِسِيْمٰهُمْ ۗوَلَتَعْرِفَنَّهُمْ فِيْ لَحْنِ الْقَوْلِۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اَعْمَالَكُمْ ٣٠

ID Translation Dan kalau Kami kehendaki, niscaya Kami tunjukkan mereka kepadamu sehingga kamu benar-benar dapat mengenal mereka dengan tanda-tandanya. Dan kamu benar-benar akan mengenal mereka dari kiasan-kiasan perkataan mereka dan Allah mengetahui perbuatan-perbuatan kamu.

EN Translation Now had We so willed, We could have shown them clearly to thee, so that thou wouldst know them for sure as by a visible mark: but [even so,] thou wilt most certainly recognize them by the tone of their voice. And God knows all that you do, [O men;]

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ حَتّٰى نَعْلَمَ الْمُجٰهِدِيْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَالصّٰبِرِيْنَۙ وَنَبْلُوَا۟ اَخْبَارَكُمْ ٣١

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami benar-benar akan menguji kamu agar Kami mengetahui orang-orang yang berjihad dan bersabar di antara kamu, dan agar Kami menyatakan (baik buruknya) hal ihwalmu.

EN Translation and most certainly We shall try you all, so that We might mark out those of you who strive hard [in Our cause] and are patient in adversity: for We shall put to a test [the truth of] all your assertions.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ وَشَاۤقُّوا الرَّسُوْلَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الْهُدٰى لَنْ يَّضُرُّوا اللّٰهَ شَيْـًٔاۗ وَسَيُحْبِطُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ٣٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir dan (yang) menghalangi manusia dari jalan Allah serta memusuhi Rasul setelah petunjuk itu jelas bagi mereka, mereka tidak dapat memberi mudharat kepada Allah sedikitpun. Dan Allah akan menghapuskan (pahala) amal-amal mereka.

EN Translation Verily, they who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God, and [who thus] cut themselves off from the Apostle after guidance has been vouchsafed to them, can in no wise harm God; but He will cause all their deeds to come to nought.

۞ يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اَطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَاَطِيْعُوا الرَّسُوْلَ وَلَا تُبْطِلُوْٓا اَعْمَالَكُمْ ٣٣

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, taatilah Allah dan taatilah Rasul dan janganlah kamu merusakkan (pahala) amal-amalmu.

EN Translation O you who have attained to faith! Pay heed unto God, and pay heed unto the Apostle, and let not your [good] deeds come to nought!

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ مَاتُوْا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَنْ يَّغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْ ٣٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang kafir dan (yang) menghalangi manusia dari jalan Allah kemudian mereka mati dalam keadaan kafir, maka sekali-kali Allah tidak akan memberi ampun kepada mereka.

EN Translation Verily, as for those who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God, and then die as deniers of the truth - indeed, God will not grant them forgiveness!

فَلَا تَهِنُوْا وَتَدْعُوْٓا اِلَى السَّلْمِۖ وَاَنْتُمُ الْاَعْلَوْنَۗ وَاللّٰهُ مَعَكُمْ وَلَنْ يَّتِرَكُمْ اَعْمَالَكُمْ ٣٥

ID Translation Janganlah kamu lemah dan minta damai padahal kamulah yang di atas dan Allah pun bersamamu dan Dia sekali-kali tidak akan mengurangi pahala amal-amalmu.

EN Translation AND SO, [when you fight in a just cause,] do not lose heart and [never] beg for peace: for, seeing that God is with you, you are bound to rise high [in the end]; and never will He let your [good] deeds go to waste.

اِنَّمَا الْحَيٰوةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَّلَهْوٌ ۗوَاِنْ تُؤْمِنُوْا وَتَتَّقُوْا يُؤْتِكُمْ اُجُوْرَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْـَٔلْكُمْ اَمْوَالَكُمْ ٣٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya kehidupan dunia hanyalah permainan dan senda gurau. Dan jika kamu beriman dan bertakwa, Allah akan memberikan pahala kepadamu dan Dia tidak akan meminta harta-hartamu.

EN Translation The life of this world is but a play and a passing delight: but if you believe [in God] and are conscious of Him, He will grant you your deserts. And withal, He does not demand of you [to sacrifice in His cause all of] your possessions:

اِنْ يَّسْـَٔلْكُمُوْهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوْا وَيُخْرِجْ اَضْغَانَكُمْ ٣٧

ID Translation Jika Dia meminta harta kepadamu lalu mendesak kamu (supaya memberikan semuanya) niscaya kamu akan kikir dan Dia akan menampakkan kedengkianmu.

EN Translation [for,] if He were to demand of you all of them, and urge you, you would niggardly cling [to them], and so He would [but] bring out your moral failings.

هٰٓاَنْتُمْ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنْفِقُوْا فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِۚ فَمِنْكُمْ مَّنْ يَّبْخَلُ ۚوَمَنْ يَّبْخَلْ فَاِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖ ۗوَاللّٰهُ الْغَنِيُّ وَاَنْتُمُ الْفُقَرَاۤءُ ۗ وَاِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْۙ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُوْنُوْٓا اَمْثَالَكُمْ ٣٨

ID Translation Ingatlah, kamu ini orang-orang yang diajak untuk menafkahkan (hartamu) pada jalan Allah. Maka di antara kamu ada yang kikir, dan siapa yang kikir sesungguhnya dia hanyalah kikir terhadap dirinya sendiri. Dan Allah-lah yang Maha Kaya sedangkan kamulah orang-orang yang berkehendak (kepada-Nya); dan jika kamu berpaling niscaya Dia akan mengganti (kamu) dengan kaum yang lain; dan mereka tidak akan seperti kamu ini.

EN Translation Behold, [O believers,] it is you who are called upon to spend freely in God’s cause: but [even] among you are such as turn out to be niggardly! And yet, he who acts niggardly [in God’s cause] is but niggardly towards his own self: for God is indeed self-sufficient, whereas you stand in need [of Him]; and if you turn away [from Him], He will cause other people to take your place, and they will not be the likes of you!

اِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِيْنًاۙ ١

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Kami telah memberikan kepadamu kemenangan yang nyata,

EN Translation VERILY, [O Muhammad,] We have laid open before thee a manifest victory,

لِّيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللّٰهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْۢبِكَ وَمَا تَاَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهٗ عَلَيْكَ وَيَهْدِيَكَ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيْمًاۙ ٢

ID Translation supaya Allah memberi ampunan kepadamu terhadap dosamu yang telah lalu dan yang akan datang serta menyempurnakan nikmat-Nya atasmu dan memimpin kamu kepada jalan yang lurus,

EN Translation so that God might show His forgiveness of all thy faults, past as well as future, and [thus] bestow upon thee the full measure of His blessings, and guide thee on a straight way,

وَّيَنْصُرَكَ اللّٰهُ نَصْرًا عَزِيْزًا ٣

ID Translation dan supaya Allah menolongmu dengan pertolongan yang kuat (banyak).

EN Translation and [show] that God will succour thee with [His] mighty succour.

هُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَنْزَلَ السَّكِيْنَةَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ لِيَزْدَادُوْٓا اِيْمَانًا مَّعَ اِيْمَانِهِمْ ۗ وَلِلّٰهِ جُنُوْدُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًاۙ ٤

ID Translation Dialah yang telah menurunkan ketenangan ke dalam hati orang-orang mukmin supaya keimanan mereka bertambah di samping keimanan mereka (yang telah ada). Dan kepunyaan Allah-lah tentara langit dan bumi dan adalah Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Bijaksana,

EN Translation It is He who from on high has bestowed inner peace upon the hearts of the believers, so that - seeing that God’s are all the forces of the heavens and the earth, and that God is all-knowing, truly wise - they might grow yet more firm in their faith;

لِّيُدْخِلَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا وَيُكَفِّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّاٰتِهِمْۗ وَكَانَ ذٰلِكَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًاۙ ٥

ID Translation supaya Dia memasukkan orang-orang mukmin laki-laki dan perempuan ke dalam surga yang mengalir di bawahnya sungai-sungai, mereka kekal di dalamnya dan supaya Dia menutupi kesalahan-kesalahan mereka. Dan yang demikian itu adalah keberuntungan yang besar di sisi Allah,

EN Translation [and] that He might admit the believers, both men and women, into gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide, and that He might efface their [past bad] deeds: and that is, in the sight of God, indeed a triumph supreme!

وَّيُعَذِّبَ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ وَالْمُنٰفِقٰتِ وَالْمُشْرِكِيْنَ وَالْمُشْرِكٰتِ الظَّاۤنِّيْنَ بِاللّٰهِ ظَنَّ السَّوْءِۗ عَلَيْهِمْ دَاۤىِٕرَةُ السَّوْءِۚ وَغَضِبَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَعَنَهُمْ وَاَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَهَنَّمَۗ وَسَاۤءَتْ مَصِيْرًا ٦

ID Translation dan supaya Dia mengazab orang-orang munafik laki-laki dan perempuan dan orang-orang musyrik laki-laki dan perempuan yang mereka itu berprasangka buruk terhadap Allah. Mereka akan mendapat giliran (kebinasaan) yang amat buruk dan Allah memurkai dan mengutuk mereka serta menyediakan bagi mereka neraka Jahannam. Dan (neraka Jahannam) itulah sejahat-jahat tempat kembali.

EN Translation And [God has willed] to impose suffering [in the life to come] on the hypocrites, both men and women, and on those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, both men and women: all who entertain evil thoughts about God. Evil encompasses them from all sides, and God’s condemnation rests upon them; and He has rejected them [from His grace], and has readied hell for them: and how evil a journey’s end!

وَلِلّٰهِ جُنُوْدُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا ٧

ID Translation Dan kepunyaan Allah-lah tentara langit dan bumi. Dan adalah Allah Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation For, God’s are all the forces of the heavens and the earth; and God is indeed almighty, truly wise!

اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ شَاهِدًا وَّمُبَشِّرًا وَّنَذِيْرًاۙ ٨

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Kami mengutus kamu sebagai saksi, pembawa berita gembira dan pemberi peringatan,

EN Translation VERILY, [O Muhammad,] We have sent thee as a witness [to the truth], and as a herald of glad tidings and a warner –

لِّتُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَتُعَزِّرُوْهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوْهُۗ وَتُسَبِّحُوْهُ بُكْرَةً وَّاَصِيْلًا ٩

ID Translation supaya kamu sekalian beriman kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya, menguatkan (agama)Nya, membesarkan-Nya. Dan bertasbih kepada-Nya di waktu pagi dan petang.

EN Translation so that you [O men] might believe in God and His Apostle, and might honour Him, and revere Him, and extol His limitless glory from morn to evening.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُبَايِعُوْنَكَ اِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُوْنَ اللّٰهَ ۗيَدُ اللّٰهِ فَوْقَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ ۚ فَمَنْ نَّكَثَ فَاِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلٰى نَفْسِهٖۚ وَمَنْ اَوْفٰى بِمَا عٰهَدَ عَلَيْهُ اللّٰهَ فَسَيُؤْتِيْهِ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا ١٠

ID Translation Bahwasanya orang-orang yang berjanji setia kepada kamu sesungguhnya mereka berjanji setia kepada Allah. Tangan Allah di atas tangan mereka, maka barangsiapa yang melanggar janjinya niscaya akibat ia melanggar janji itu akan menimpa dirinya sendiri dan barangsiapa menepati janjinya kepada Allah maka Allah akan memberinya pahala yang besar.

EN Translation Behold, all who pledge their allegiance to thee pledge their allegiance to God: the hand of God is over their hands. Hence, he who breaks his oath, breaks it only to his own hurt; whereas he who remains true to what he has pledged unto God, on him will He bestow a reward supreme.

سَيَقُوْلُ لَكَ الْمُخَلَّفُوْنَ مِنَ الْاَعْرَابِ شَغَلَتْنَآ اَمْوَالُنَا وَاَهْلُوْنَا فَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَنَا ۚيَقُوْلُوْنَ بِاَلْسِنَتِهِمْ مَّا لَيْسَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْۗ قُلْ فَمَنْ يَّمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْـًٔا اِنْ اَرَادَ بِكُمْ ضَرًّا اَوْ اَرَادَ بِكُمْ نَفْعًا ۗبَلْ كَانَ اللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرًا ١١

ID Translation Orang-orang Badwi yang tertinggal (tidak turut ke Hudaibiyah) akan mengatakan: "Harta dan keluarga kami telah merintangi kami, maka mohonkanlah ampunan untuk kami"; mereka mengucapkan dengan lidahnya apa yang tidak ada dalam hatinya. Katakanlah: "Maka siapakah (gerangan) yang dapat menghalang-halangi kehendak Allah jika Dia menghendaki kemudharatan bagimu atau jika Dia menghendaki manfaat bagimu. Sebenarnya Allah Maha Mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation Those of the bedouin who stayed behind will say unto thee: “[The need to take care of] our chat­tels and our families kept us busy: do then, [O Prophet,] ask God to forgive us!” [Thus,] they will utter with their tongues something that is not in their hearts. Say: “Who, then, has it in his power to avert from you aught that God may have willed, whether it be His will to harm you or to confer a benefit on you? Nay, but God is fully aware of what you do!

بَلْ ظَنَنْتُمْ اَنْ لَّنْ يَّنْقَلِبَ الرَّسُوْلُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِيْهِمْ اَبَدًا وَّزُيِّنَ ذٰلِكَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَظَنَنْتُمْ ظَنَّ السَّوْءِۚ وَكُنْتُمْ قَوْمًاۢ بُوْرًا ١٢

ID Translation Tetapi kamu menyangka bahwa Rasul dan orang-orang mukmin tidak sekali-kali akan kembali kepada keluarga mereka selama-lamanya dan syaitan telah menjadikan kamu memandang baik dalam hatimu persangkaan itu, dan kamu telah menyangka dengan sangkaan yang buruk dan kamu menjadi kaum yang binasa.

EN Translation Nay, you thought that the Apostle and the believers would never return to their kith and kin: and this seemed goodly to your hearts. And you entertained [such] evil thoughts because you have always been people devoid of all good!”

وَمَنْ لَّمْ يُؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ فَاِنَّآ اَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكٰفِرِيْنَ سَعِيْرًا ١٣

ID Translation Dan barangsiapa yang tidak beriman kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya maka sesungguhnya Kami menyediakan untuk orang-orang yang kafir neraka yang bernyala-nyala.

EN Translation Now as for those who will not believe in God and His Apostle - verily, We have readied a blazing flame for all [such] deniers of the truth!

وَلِلّٰهِ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ يَغْفِرُ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ غَفُوْرًا رَّحِيْمًا ١٤

ID Translation Dan hanya kepunyaan Allah-lah kerajaan langit dan bumi. Dia memberikan ampun kepada siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya dan mengazab siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya. Dan Allah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation But God’s is the dominion over the heavens and the earth: He forgives whomever He wills, and imposes suffering on whomever He wills - and [withal,] He is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

سَيَقُوْلُ الْمُخَلَّفُوْنَ اِذَا انْطَلَقْتُمْ اِلٰى مَغَانِمَ لِتَأْخُذُوْهَا ذَرُوْنَا نَتَّبِعْكُمْ ۚ يُرِيْدُوْنَ اَنْ يُّبَدِّلُوْا كَلٰمَ اللّٰهِ ۗ قُلْ لَّنْ تَتَّبِعُوْنَا كَذٰلِكُمْ قَالَ اللّٰهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖفَسَيَقُوْلُوْنَ بَلْ تَحْسُدُوْنَنَا ۗ بَلْ كَانُوْا لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا ١٥

ID Translation Orang-orang Badwi yang tertinggal itu akan berkata apabila kamu berangkat untuk mengambil barang rampasan: "Biarkanlah kami, niscaya kami mengikuti kamu"; mereka hendak merubah janji Allah. Katakanlah: "Kamu sekali-kali tidak (boleh) mengikuti kami; demikian Allah telah menetapkan sebelumnya"; mereka akan mengatakan: "Sebenarnya kamu dengki kepada kami". Bahkan mereka tidak mengerti melainkan sedikit sekali.

EN Translation As soon as you [O believers] are about to set forth on a war that promises booty, those who stayed behind [aforetime] will surely say, “Allow us to go with you” - [thus showing that] they would like to alter the Word of God. Say: “By no means shall you go with us: God has declared aforetime [to whom all spoils shall belong].” Thereupon they will [surely] answer, “Nay, but you begrudge us [our share of booty]!” Nay, they can grasp but so little of the truth!

قُلْ لِّلْمُخَلَّفِيْنَ مِنَ الْاَعْرَابِ سَتُدْعَوْنَ اِلٰى قَوْمٍ اُولِيْ بَأْسٍ شَدِيْدٍ تُقَاتِلُوْنَهُمْ اَوْ يُسْلِمُوْنَ ۚ فَاِنْ تُطِيْعُوْا يُؤْتِكُمُ اللّٰهُ اَجْرًا حَسَنًا ۚ وَاِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا كَمَا تَوَلَّيْتُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلُ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا اَلِيْمًا ١٦

ID Translation Katakanlah kepada orang-orang Badwi yang tertinggal: "Kamu akan diajak untuk (memerangi) kaum yang mempunyai kekuatan yang besar, kamu akan memerangi mereka atau mereka menyerah (masuk Islam). Maka jika kamu patuhi (ajakan itu) niscaya Allah akan memberikan kepadamu pahala yang baik dan jika kamu berpaling sebagaimana kamu telah berpaling sebelumnya, niscaya Dia akan mengazab kamu dengan azab yang pedih".

EN Translation Say unto those bedouin who stayed behind: “In time you will be called upon [to fight] against people of great prowess in war: you will have to fight against them [until you die] or they surrender. And then, if you heed [that call], God will bestow on you a goodly reward; but if you turn away as you turned away this time, He will chastise you with grievous chastisement.”

لَيْسَ عَلَى الْاَعْمٰى حَرَجٌ وَّلَا عَلَى الْاَعْرَجِ حَرَجٌ وَّلَا عَلَى الْمَرِيْضِ حَرَجٌ ۗ وَمَنْ يُّطِعِ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ يُدْخِلْهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ۚ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَلَّ يُعَذِّبْهُ عَذَابًا اَلِيْمًا ١٧

ID Translation Tiada dosa atas orang-orang yang buta dan atas orang yang pincang dan atas orang yang sakit (apabila tidak ikut berperang). Dan barangsiapa yang taat kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya; niscaya Allah akan memasukkannya ke dalam surga yang mengalir di bawahnya sungai-sungai dan barang siapa yang berpaling niscaya akan diazab-Nya dengan azab yang pedih.

EN Translation No blame attaches to the blind, nor does blame attach to the lame, nor does blame attach to the sick [for staying away from a war in God’s cause]; but whoever heeds [the call of] God and His Apostle [in deed or in heart], him will He admit into gardens through which running waters flow; whereas him who turns away will He chastise with grievous chastise­ment.

۞ لَقَدْ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اِذْ يُبَايِعُوْنَكَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَاَنْزَلَ السَّكِيْنَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاَثَابَهُمْ فَتْحًا قَرِيْبًاۙ ١٨

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Allah telah ridha terhadap orang-orang mukmin ketika mereka berjanji setia kepadamu di bawah pohon, maka Allah mengetahui apa yang ada dalam hati mereka lalu menurunkan ketenangan atas mereka dan memberi balasan kepada mereka dengan kemenangan yang dekat (waktunya).

EN Translation INDEED, well-pleased was God with the believers when they pledged their allegiance unto thee [O Muhammad] under that tree, for He knew what was in their hearts; and so He bestowed inner peace upon them from on high, and rewarded them with [the glad tiding of] a victory soon to come

وَّمَغَانِمَ كَثِيْرَةً يَّأْخُذُوْنَهَا ۗ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا ١٩

ID Translation Serta harta rampasan yang banyak yang dapat mereka ambil. Dan adalah Allah Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation and [of] many war-gains which they would achieve: for God is indeed almighty, wise.

وَعَدَكُمُ اللّٰهُ مَغَانِمَ كَثِيْرَةً تَأْخُذُوْنَهَا فَعَجَّلَ لَكُمْ هٰذِهٖ وَكَفَّ اَيْدِيَ النَّاسِ عَنْكُمْۚ وَلِتَكُوْنَ اٰيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيْمًاۙ ٢٠

ID Translation Allah menjanjikan kepada kamu harta rampasan yang banyak yang dapat kamu ambil, maka disegerakan-Nya harta rampasan ini untukmu dan Dia menahan tangan manusia dari (membinasakan)mu (agar kamu mensyukuri-Nya) dan agar hal itu menjadi bukti bagi orang-orang mukmin dan agar Dia menunjuki kamu kepada jalan yang lurus.

EN Translation [O you who believe!] God has promised you many war-gains which you shall yet achieve; and He has vouchsafed you these [worldly gains] well in advance, and has stayed from you the hands of [hostile] people, so that this [your inner strength] may become a symbol to the believers [who will come after you], and that He may guide you all on a straight way.

وَّاُخْرٰى لَمْ تَقْدِرُوْا عَلَيْهَا قَدْ اَحَاطَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرًا ٢١

ID Translation Dan (telah menjanjikan pula kemenangan-kemenangan) yang lain (atas negeri-negeri) yang kamu belum dapat menguasainya yang sungguh Allah telah menentukan-Nya. Dan adalah Allah Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu.

EN Translation And there are yet other [gains] which are still beyond your grasp, [but] which God has already encompassed [for you]: for God has the power to will anything.

وَلَوْ قَاتَلَكُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لَوَلَّوُا الْاَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوْنَ وَلِيًّا وَّلَا نَصِيْرًا ٢٢

ID Translation Dan sekiranya orang-orang kafir itu memerangi kamu pastilah mereka berbalik melarikan diri ke belakang (kalah) kemudian mereka tiada memperoleh pelindung dan tidak (pula) penolong.

EN Translation And [now,] if they who are bent on denying the truth should fight against you, they will indeed turn their backs [in flight], and will find none to protect them and none to bring them succour:

سُنَّةَ اللّٰهِ الَّتِيْ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖوَلَنْ تَجِدَ لِسُنَّةِ اللّٰهِ تَبْدِيْلًا ٢٣

ID Translation Sebagai suatu sunnatullah yang telah berlaku sejak dahulu, kamu sekali-kali tiada akan menemukan perubahan bagi sunnatullah itu.

EN Translation such being God’s way which has ever obtained in the past - and never wilt thou find any change in God’s way!

وَهُوَ الَّذِيْ كَفَّ اَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَاَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ اَنْ اَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرًا ٢٤

ID Translation Dan Dialah yang menahan tangan mereka dari (membinasakan) kamu dan (menahan) tangan kamu dari (membinasakan) mereka di tengah kota Mekah sesudah Allah memenangkan kamu atas mereka, dan adalah Allah Maha Melihat apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation And He it is who, in the valley of Mecca, stayed their hands from you, and your hands from them, after He had enabled you to vanquish them; and God saw indeed what you were doing.

هُمُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا وَصَدُّوْكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَالْهَدْيَ مَعْكُوْفًا اَنْ يَّبْلُغَ مَحِلَّهٗ ۚوَلَوْلَا رِجَالٌ مُّؤْمِنُوْنَ وَنِسَاۤءٌ مُّؤْمِنٰتٌ لَّمْ تَعْلَمُوْهُمْ اَنْ تَطَـُٔوْهُمْ فَتُصِيْبَكُمْ مِّنْهُمْ مَّعَرَّةٌ ۢبِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۚ لِيُدْخِلَ اللّٰهُ فِيْ رَحْمَتِهٖ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُۚ لَوْ تَزَيَّلُوْا لَعَذَّبْنَا الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا اَلِيْمًا ٢٥

ID Translation Merekalah orang-orang yang kafir yang menghalangi kamu dari (masuk) Masjidil Haram dan menghalangi hewan korban sampai ke tempat (penyembelihan)nya. Dan kalau tidaklah karena laki-laki yang mukmin dan perempuan-perempuan yang mukmin yang tiada kamu ketahui, bahwa kamu akan membunuh mereka yang menyebabkan kamu ditimpa kesusahan tanpa pengetahuanmu (tentulah Allah tidak akan menahan tanganmu dari membinasakan mereka). Supaya Allah memasukkan siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya ke dalam rahmat-Nya. Sekiranya mereka tidak bercampur-baur, tentulah Kami akan mengazab orang-orang yag kafir di antara mereka dengan azab yang pedih.

EN Translation [It was not for your enemies sake that He stayed your hands from them: for] it was they who were bent on denying the truth, and who debarred you from the Inviolable House of Worship and prevented your offering from reaching its destina­tion. And had it not been for the believing men and believing women [in Mecca], whom you might have unwittingly trampled underfoot, and on whose account you might have become guilty, without knowing it, of a grievous wrong-: [had it not been for this, you would have been allowed to fight your way into the city: but you were forbidden to fight] so that [in time] God might admit to His grace whomever He wills. Had they [who deserve Our mercy and they whom We have condemned] been clearly discernible [to you], We would indeed have imposed grievous suffering [at your hands] on such of them as were bent on denying the truth.

اِذْ جَعَلَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمُ الْحَمِيَّةَ حَمِيَّةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَاَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ سَكِيْنَتَهٗ عَلٰى رَسُوْلِهٖ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَاَلْزَمَهُمْ كَلِمَةَ التَّقْوٰى وَكَانُوْٓا اَحَقَّ بِهَا وَاَهْلَهَا ۗوَكَانَ اللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمًا ٢٦

ID Translation Ketika orang-orang kafir menanamkan dalam hati mereka kesombongan (yaitu) kesombongan jahiliyah lalu Allah menurunkan ketenangan kepada Rasul-Nya, dan kepada orang-orang mukmin dan Allah mewajibkan kepada mereka kalimat-takwa dan adalah mereka berhak dengan kalimat takwa itu dan patut memilikinya. Dan adalah Allah Maha Mengetahui segala sesuatu.

EN Translation Whereas they who are bent on denying the truth harboured a stubborn disdain in their hearts - the stubborn disdain [born] of ignorance God bestowed from on high His [gift of] inner peace upon His Apostle and the believers, and bound them to the spirit of God-consciousness: for they were most worthy of this [divine gift], and deserved it well. And God has full knowledge of all things.

لَقَدْ صَدَقَ اللّٰهُ رَسُوْلَهُ الرُّءْيَا بِالْحَقِّ ۚ لَتَدْخُلُنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ اِنْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ اٰمِنِيْنَۙ مُحَلِّقِيْنَ رُءُوْسَكُمْ وَمُقَصِّرِيْنَۙ لَا تَخَافُوْنَ ۗفَعَلِمَ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوْا فَجَعَلَ مِنْ دُوْنِ ذٰلِكَ فَتْحًا قَرِيْبًا ٢٧

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Allah akan membuktikan kepada Rasul-Nya, tentang kebenaran mimpinya dengan sebenarnya (yaitu) bahwa sesungguhnya kamu pasti akan memasuki Masjidil Haram, insya Allah dalam keadaan aman, dengan mencukur rambut kepala dan mengguntingnya, sedang kamu tidak merasa takut. Maka Allah mengetahui apa yang tiada kamu ketahui dan Dia memberikan sebelum itu kemenangan yang dekat.

EN Translation Indeed, God has shown the truth in His Apostle’s true vision: most certainly shall you enter the Inviolable House of Worship, if God so wills, in full security, with your heads shaved or your hair cut short, without any fear: for He has [always] known that which you yourselves could not know. And He has ordained [for you], besides this, a victory soon to come.

هُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَرْسَلَ رَسُوْلَهٗ بِالْهُدٰى وَدِيْنِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهٗ عَلَى الدِّيْنِ كُلِّهٖ ۗوَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ شَهِيْدًا ٢٨

ID Translation Dialah yang mengutus Rasul-Nya dengan membawa petunjuk dan agama yang hak agar dimenangkan-Nya terhadap semua agama. Dan cukuplah Allah sebagai saksi.

EN Translation He it is who has sent forth His Apostle with the [task of spreading] guidance and the religion of truth, to the end that He make it prevail over every [false] religion; and none can bear witness [to the truth] as God does.

مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ ۗوَالَّذِيْنَ مَعَهٗٓ اَشِدَّاۤءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاۤءُ بَيْنَهُمْ تَرٰىهُمْ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَّبْتَغُوْنَ فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِضْوَانًا ۖ سِيْمَاهُمْ فِيْ وُجُوْهِهِمْ مِّنْ اَثَرِ السُّجُوْدِ ۗذٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمْ فِى التَّوْرٰىةِ ۖوَمَثَلُهُمْ فِى الْاِنْجِيْلِۚ كَزَرْعٍ اَخْرَجَ شَطْـَٔهٗ فَاٰزَرَهٗ فَاسْتَغْلَظَ فَاسْتَوٰى عَلٰى سُوْقِهٖ يُعْجِبُ الزُّرَّاعَ لِيَغِيْظَ بِهِمُ الْكُفَّارَ ۗوَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنْهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةً وَّاَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا ٢٩

ID Translation Muhammad itu adalah utusan Allah dan orang-orang yang bersama dengan dia adalah keras terhadap orang-orang kafir, tetapi berkasih sayang sesama mereka. Kamu lihat mereka ruku' dan sujud mencari karunia Allah dan keridhaan-Nya, tanda-tanda mereka tampak pada muka mereka dari bekas sujud. Demikianlah sifat-sifat mereka dalam Taurat dan sifat-sifat mereka dalam Injil, yaitu seperti tanaman yang mengeluarkan tunasnya maka tunas itu menjadikan tanaman itu kuat lalu menjadi besarlah dia dan tegak lurus di atas pokoknya; tanaman itu menyenangkan hati penanam-penanamnya karena Allah hendak menjengkelkan hati orang-orang kafir (dengan kekuatan orang-orang mukmin). Allah menjanjikan kepada orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal yang saleh di antara mereka ampunan dan pahala yang besar.

EN Translation MUHAMMAD is God’s Apostle; and those who are [truly] with him are firm and unyielding towards all deniers of the truth, [yet] full of mercy towards one another. Thou canst see them bowing down, pros­trating themselves [in prayer], seeking favour with God and [His] goodly acceptance: their marks are on their faces, traced by prostration. This is their parable in the Torah as well as their parable in the Gospel: [they are] like a seed that brings forth its shoot, and then He strengthens it, so that it grows stout, and [in the end] stands firm upon its stem, delighting the sowers. [Thus will God cause the believers to grow in strength,] so that through them He might confound the deniers of the truth. [But] unto such of them as may [yet] attain to faith and do righteous deeds, God has promised forgiveness and a reward supreme.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُقَدِّمُوْا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ ١

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah kamu mendahului Allah dan Rasulnya dan bertakwalah kepada Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui.

EN Translation O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not put yourselves forward in the presence of [what] God and His Apostle [may have ordained], but remain conscious of God: for, verily, God is all-hearing, all-knowing!

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَرْفَعُوْٓا اَصْوَاتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوْا لَهٗ بِالْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ اَنْ تَحْبَطَ اَعْمَالُكُمْ وَاَنْتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُوْنَ ٢

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah kamu meninggikan suaramu melebihi suara Nabi, dan janganlah kamu berkata kepadanya dengan suara yang keras, sebagaimana kerasnya suara sebagian kamu terhadap sebagian yang lain, supaya tidak hapus (pahala) amalanmu, sedangkan kamu tidak menyadari.

EN Translation O you who have attained to faith! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and neither speak loudly to him, as you would speak loudly to one another, lest all your [good] deeds come to nought without your perceiving it.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يَغُضُّوْنَ اَصْوَاتَهُمْ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ امْتَحَنَ اللّٰهُ قُلُوْبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوٰىۗ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّاَجْرٌ عَظِيْمٌ ٣

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang yang merendahkan suaranya di sisi Rasulullah mereka itulah orang-orang yang telah diuji hati mereka oleh Allah untuk bertakwa. Bagi mereka ampunan dan pahala yang besar.

EN Translation Behold, they who lower their voices in the presence of God’s Apostle - it is they whose hearts God has tested [and opened] to consciousness of Himself; [and] theirs shall be forgiveness and a reward supreme.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُنَادُوْنَكَ مِنْ وَّرَاۤءِ الْحُجُرٰتِ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُوْنَ ٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang memanggil kamu dari luar kamar(mu) kebanyakan mereka tidak mengerti.

EN Translation Verily, [O Prophet,] as for those who call thee from without thy private apartments - most of them do not use their reason:

وَلَوْ اَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوْا حَتّٰى تَخْرُجَ اِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ ۗوَاللّٰهُ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٥

ID Translation Dan kalau sekiranya mereka bersabar sampai kamu keluar menemui mereka sesungguhnya itu lebih baik bagi mereka, dan Allah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation for, if they had the patience [to wait] until thou come forth to them [of thine own accord], it would be for their own good. Still, God is much forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْٓا اِنْ جَاۤءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَاٍ فَتَبَيَّنُوْٓا اَنْ تُصِيْبُوْا قَوْمًاۢ بِجَهَالَةٍ فَتُصْبِحُوْا عَلٰى مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نٰدِمِيْنَ ٦

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, jika datang kepadamu orang fasik membawa suatu berita, maka periksalah dengan teliti agar kamu tidak menimpakan suatu musibah kepada suatu kaum tanpa mengetahui keadaannya yang menyebabkan kamu menyesal atas perbuatanmu itu.

EN Translation O YOU who have attained to faith! If any iniquitous person comes to you with a [slanderous] tale, use your discernment, lest you hurt people unwittingly and afterwards be filled with remorse for what you have done.

وَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّ فِيْكُمْ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ ۗ لَوْ يُطِيْعُكُمْ فِيْ كَثِيْرٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ حَبَّبَ اِلَيْكُمُ الْاِيْمَانَ وَزَيَّنَهٗ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ اِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوْقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الرَّاشِدُوْنَۙ ٧

ID Translation Dan ketahuilah olehmu bahwa di kalanganmu ada Rasulullah. Kalau ia menuruti kemauanmu dalam beberapa urusan benar-benarlah kamu mendapat kesusahan, tetapi Allah menjadikan kamu "cinta" kepada keimanan dan menjadikan keimanan itu indah di dalam hatimu serta menjadikan kamu benci kepada kekafiran, kefasikan, dan kedurhakaan. Mereka itulah orang-orang yang mengikuti jalan yang lurus,

EN Translation And know that God’s Apostle is among you: were he to comply with your inclinations in each and every case, you would be bound to come to harm [as a community]. But as it is, God has caused [your] faith to be dear to you, and has given it beauty in your hearts, and has made hateful to you all denial of the truth, and all iniquity, and all rebellion [against what is good]. Such indeed are they who follow the right course

فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَنِعْمَةً ۗوَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ٨

ID Translation sebagai karunia dan nikmat dari Allah. Dan Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation through God’s bounty and favour; and God is all-knowing, truly wise.

وَاِنْ طَاۤىِٕفَتٰنِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اقْتَتَلُوْا فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَهُمَاۚ فَاِنْۢ بَغَتْ اِحْدٰىهُمَا عَلَى الْاُخْرٰى فَقَاتِلُوا الَّتِيْ تَبْغِيْ حَتّٰى تَفِيْۤءَ اِلٰٓى اَمْرِ اللّٰهِ ۖفَاِنْ فَاۤءَتْ فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْعَدْلِ وَاَقْسِطُوْا ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِيْنَ ٩

ID Translation Dan kalau ada dua golongan dari mereka yang beriman itu berperang hendaklah kamu damaikan antara keduanya! Tapi kalau yang satu melanggar perjanjian terhadap yang lain, hendaklah yang melanggar perjanjian itu kamu perangi sampai surut kembali pada perintah Allah. Kalau dia telah surut, damaikanlah antara keduanya menurut keadilan, dan hendaklah kamu berlaku adil; sesungguhnya Allah mencintai orang-orang yang berlaku adil.

EN Translation Hence, if two groups of believers fall to fighting, make peace between them; but then, if one of the two [groups] goes on acting wrongfully towards the other, fight against the one that acts wrongfully until it reverts to God’s commandment; and if they revert, make peace between them with justice, and deal equitably [with them]: for verily, God loves those who act equitably!

اِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِخْوَةٌ فَاَصْلِحُوْا بَيْنَ اَخَوَيْكُمْ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُوْنَ ١٠

ID Translation Orang-orang beriman itu sesungguhnya bersaudara. Sebab itu damaikanlah (perbaikilah hubungan) antara kedua saudaramu itu dan takutlah terhadap Allah, supaya kamu mendapat rahmat.

EN Translation All believers are but brethren. Hence, [when­ever they are at odds,] make peace between your two brethren, and remain conscious of God, so that you might be graced with His mercy.

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا يَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّنْ قَوْمٍ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنُوْا خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَلَا نِسَاۤءٌ مِّنْ نِّسَاۤءٍ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُنَّ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُنَّۚ وَلَا تَلْمِزُوْٓا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَلَا تَنَابَزُوْا بِالْاَلْقَابِۗ بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوْقُ بَعْدَ الْاِيْمَانِۚ وَمَنْ لَّمْ يَتُبْ فَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ ١١

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah sekumpulan orang laki-laki merendahkan kumpulan yang lain, boleh jadi yang ditertawakan itu lebih baik dari mereka. Dan jangan pula sekumpulan perempuan merendahkan kumpulan lainnya, boleh jadi yang direndahkan itu lebih baik. Dan janganlah suka mencela dirimu sendiri dan jangan memanggil dengan gelaran yang mengandung ejekan. Seburuk-buruk panggilan adalah (panggilan) yang buruk sesudah iman dan barangsiapa yang tidak bertobat, maka mereka itulah orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation O YOU who have attained to faith! No men shall deride [other] men: it may well be that those [whom they deride] are better than themselves; and no women [shall deride other] women: it may well be that those [whom they deride] are better than them­selves. And neither shall you defame one another, nor insult one another by [opprobrious] epithets: evil is all imputation of iniquity after [one has attained to] faith; and they who [become guilty thereof and] do not repent - it is they, they who are evildoers!

يٰٓاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اجْتَنِبُوْا كَثِيْرًا مِّنَ الظَّنِّۖ اِنَّ بَعْضَ الظَّنِّ اِثْمٌ وَّلَا تَجَسَّسُوْا وَلَا يَغْتَبْ بَّعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًاۗ اَيُحِبُّ اَحَدُكُمْ اَنْ يَّأْكُلَ لَحْمَ اَخِيْهِ مَيْتًا فَكَرِهْتُمُوْهُۗ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ تَوَّابٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٢

ID Translation Hai orang-orang yang beriman, jauhilah kebanyakan purba-sangka (kecurigaan), karena sebagian dari purba-sangka itu dosa. Dan janganlah mencari-cari keburukan orang dan janganlah menggunjingkan satu sama lain. Adakah seorang diantara kamu yang suka memakan daging saudaranya yang sudah mati? Maka tentulah kamu merasa jijik kepadanya. Dan bertakwalah kepada Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Penerima Taubat lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation O you who have attained to faith! Avoid most guesswork [about one another] for, behold, some of [such] guesswork is [in itself] a sin; and do not spy upon one another, and neither allow your­selves to speak ill of one another behind your backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would loathe it! And be conscious of God. Verily, God is an accep­tor of repentance, a dispenser of grace!

يٰٓاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنَّا خَلَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ ذَكَرٍ وَّاُنْثٰى وَجَعَلْنٰكُمْ شُعُوْبًا وَّقَبَاۤىِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوْا ۚ اِنَّ اَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ اَتْقٰىكُمْ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ ١٣

ID Translation Hai manusia, sesungguhnya Kami menciptakan kamu dari seorang laki-laki dan seorang perempuan dan menjadikan kamu berbangsa-bangsa dan bersuku-suku supaya kamu saling kenal-mengenal. Sesungguhnya orang yang paling mulia diantara kamu disisi Allah ialah orang yang paling takwa diantara kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Mengenal.

EN Translation O men! Behold, We have created you all out of a male and a female, and have made you into nations and tribes, so that you might come to know one another. Verily, the noblest of you in the sight of God is the one who is most deeply conscious of Him. Behold, God is all-knowing, all-aware.

۞ قَالَتِ الْاَعْرَابُ اٰمَنَّا ۗ قُلْ لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوْا وَلٰكِنْ قُوْلُوْٓا اَسْلَمْنَا وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْاِيْمَانُ فِيْ قُلُوْبِكُمْ ۗوَاِنْ تُطِيْعُوا اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوْلَهٗ لَا يَلِتْكُمْ مِّنْ اَعْمَالِكُمْ شَيْـًٔا ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ١٤

ID Translation Orang-orang Arab Badui itu berkata: "Kami telah beriman". Katakanlah: "Kamu belum beriman, tapi katakanlah 'kami telah tunduk', karena iman itu belum masuk ke dalam hatimu; dan jika kamu taat kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya, Dia tidak akan mengurangi sedikitpun pahala amalanmu; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang".

EN Translation THE BEDOUIN say, “We have attained to faith.” Say [unto them, O Muhammad]: “You have not [yet] attained to faith; you should [rather] say, ‘We have [outwardly] surrendered’ - for [true] faith has not yet entered your hearts. But if you [truly] pay heed unto God and His Apostle, He will not let the least of your deeds go to waste: for, behold, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.”

اِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَرْتَابُوْا وَجَاهَدُوْا بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ الصّٰدِقُوْنَ ١٥

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman itu hanyalah orang-orang yang percaya (beriman) kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya, kemudian mereka tidak ragu-ragu dan mereka berjuang (berjihad) dengan harta dan jiwa mereka pada jalan Allah. Mereka itulah orang-orang yang benar.

EN Translation [Know that true] believers are only those who have attained to faith in God and His Apostle and have left all doubt behind, and who strive hard in God’s cause with their possessions and their lives: it is they, they who are true to their word!

قُلْ اَتُعَلِّمُوْنَ اللّٰهَ بِدِيْنِكُمْۗ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِۗ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ ١٦

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Apakah kamu akan memberitahukan kepada Allah tentang agamamu, padahal Allah mengetahui apa yang di langit dan apa yang di bumi dan Allah Maha Mengetahui segala sesuatu?"

EN Translation Say: “Do you, perchance, [want to] inform God of [the nature of] your faith although God knows all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth? Indeed, God has full knowledge of every­thing!”

يَمُنُّوْنَ عَلَيْكَ اَنْ اَسْلَمُوْا ۗ قُلْ لَّا تَمُنُّوْا عَلَيَّ اِسْلَامَكُمْ ۚبَلِ اللّٰهُ يَمُنُّ عَلَيْكُمْ اَنْ هَدٰىكُمْ لِلْاِيْمَانِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Mereka merasa telah memberi nikmat kepadamu dengan keislaman mereka. Katakanlah: "Janganlah kamu merasa telah memberi nikmat kepadaku dengan keislamanmu, sebenarnya Allah, Dialah yang melimpahkan nikmat kepadamu dengan menunjuki kamu kepada keimanan jika kamu adalah orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation Many people think that they have bestowed a favour upon thee [O Prophet] by having surrendered [to thee]. Say thou: “Deem not your surrender a favour unto me: nay, but it is God who bestows a favour upon you by showing you the way to faith - if you are true to your word!”

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ غَيْبَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ وَاللّٰهُ بَصِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٨

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui apa yang ghaib di langit dan bumi. Dan Allah Maha Melihat apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation Verily, God knows the hidden reality of the heavens and the earth; and God sees all that you do.

قۤ ۗوَالْقُرْاٰنِ الْمَجِيْدِ ۖ ١

ID Translation Qaaf Demi Al Quran yang sangat mulia.

EN Translation Qaf. CONSIDER this sublime Qur’an!

بَلْ عَجِبُوْٓا اَنْ جَاۤءَهُمْ مُّنْذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ هٰذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيْبٌ ۚ ٢

ID Translation (Mereka tidak menerimanya) bahkan mereka tercengang karena telah datang kepada mereka seorang pemberi peringatan dari (kalangan) mereka sendiri, maka berkatalah orang-orang kafir: "Ini adalah suatu yang amat ajaib".

EN Translation But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, “A strange thing is this!

ءَاِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ رَجْعٌۢ بَعِيْدٌ ٣

ID Translation Apakah kami setelah mati dan setelah menjadi tanah (kami akan kembali lagi)?, itu adalah suatu pengembalian yang tidak mungkin.

EN Translation Why - [how could we be resurrected] after we have died and become mere dust? Such a return seems far-fetched indeed!”

قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنْقُصُ الْاَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ ۚوَعِنْدَنَا كِتٰبٌ حَفِيْظٌ ٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Kami telah mengetahui apa yang dihancurkan oleh bumi dari (tubuh-tubuh) mereka, dan pada sisi Kamipun ada kitab yang memelihara (mencatat).

EN Translation Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing.

بَلْ كَذَّبُوْا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيْٓ اَمْرٍ مَّرِيْجٍ ٥

ID Translation Sebenarnya, mereka telah mendustakan kebenaran tatkala kebenaran itu datang kepada mereka, maka mereka berada dalam keadaan kacau balau.

EN Translation Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion.

اَفَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوْٓا اِلَى السَّمَاۤءِ فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنٰهَا وَزَيَّنّٰهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِنْ فُرُوْجٍ ٦

ID Translation Maka apakah mereka tidak melihat akan langit yang ada di atas mereka, bagaimana Kami meninggikannya dan menghiasinya dan langit itu tidak mempunyai retak-retak sedikitpun?

EN Translation Do they not look at the sky above them - how We have built it and made it beautiful and free of all faults?

وَالْاَرْضَ مَدَدْنٰهَا وَاَلْقَيْنَا فِيْهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَاَنْۢبَتْنَا فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ بَهِيْجٍۙ ٧

ID Translation Dan Kami hamparkan bumi itu dan Kami letakkan padanya gunung-gunung yang kokoh dan Kami tumbuhkan padanya segala macam tanaman yang indah dipandang mata,

EN Translation And the earth - We have spread it wide, and set upon it mountains firm, and caused it to bring forth plants of all beauteous kinds,

تَبْصِرَةً وَّذِكْرٰى لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيْبٍ ٨

ID Translation untuk menjadi pelajaran dan peringatan bagi tiap-tiap hamba yang kembali (mengingat Allah).

EN Translation thus offering an insight and a reminder unto every human being who willingly turns unto God.

وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءً مُّبٰرَكًا فَاَنْۢبَتْنَا بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ وَّحَبَّ الْحَصِيْدِۙ ٩

ID Translation Dan Kami turunkan dari langit air yang banyak manfaatnya lalu Kami tumbuhkan dengan air itu pohon-pohon dan biji-biji tanaman yang diketam,

EN Translation And We send down from the skies water rich in blessings, and cause thereby gardens to grow, and fields of grain,

وَالنَّخْلَ بٰسِقٰتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيْدٌۙ ١٠

ID Translation dan pohon kurma yang tinggi-tinggi yang mempunyai mayang yang bersusun-susun,

EN Translation and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates,

رِّزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِۙ وَاَحْيَيْنَا بِهٖ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًاۗ كَذٰلِكَ الْخُرُوْجُ ١١

ID Translation untuk menjadi rezeki bagi hamba-hamba (Kami), dan Kami hidupkan dengan air itu tanah yang mati (kering). Seperti itulah terjadinya kebangkitan.

EN Translation as sustenance appor­tioned to men; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life: [and] even so will be [man’s] coming-forth from death.

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوْحٍ وَّاَصْحٰبُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُوْدُ ١٢

ID Translation Sebelum mereka telah mendustakan (pula) kaum Nuh dan penduduk Rass dan Tsamud,

EN Translation [Long] before those [who now deny resur­rection] did Noah’s people give the lie to this truth, and [so did] the folk of Ar-Rass, and [the tribes of] Thamud

وَعَادٌ وَّفِرْعَوْنُ وَاِخْوَانُ لُوْطٍۙ ١٣

ID Translation dan kaum Aad, kaum Fir'aun dan kaum Luth,

EN Translation and Ad, and Pharaoh, and Lot’s brethren,

وَّاَصْحٰبُ الْاَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍۗ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيْدِ ١٤

ID Translation dan penduduk Aikah serta kaum Tubba' semuanya telah mendustakan rasul-rasul maka sudah semestinyalah mereka mendapat hukuman yang sudah diancamkan.

EN Translation and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan], and the people of Tubba: they all gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon that whereof I had warned [them] came true.

اَفَعَيِيْنَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْاَوَّلِۗ بَلْ هُمْ فِيْ لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيْدٍ ١٥

ID Translation Maka apakah Kami letih dengan penciptaan yang pertama? Sebenarnya mereka dalam keadaan ragu-ragu tentang penciptaan yang baru.

EN Translation Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation!

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهٖ نَفْسُهٗ ۖوَنَحْنُ اَقْرَبُ اِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيْدِ ١٦

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menciptakan manusia dan mengetahui apa yang dibisikkan oleh hatinya, dan Kami lebih dekat kepadanya daripada urat lehernya,

EN Translation NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein.

اِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيٰنِ عَنِ الْيَمِيْنِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيْدٌ ١٧

ID Translation (yaitu) ketika dua orang malaikat mencatat amal perbuatannya, seorang duduk di sebelah kanan dan yang lain duduk di sebelah kiri.

EN Translation [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left,

مَا يَلْفِظُ مِنْ قَوْلٍ اِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيْبٌ عَتِيْدٌ ١٨

ID Translation Tiada suatu ucapanpun yang diucapkannya melainkan ada di dekatnya malaikat pengawas yang selalu hadir.

EN Translation not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present.

وَجَاۤءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۗذٰلِكَ مَا كُنْتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيْدُ ١٩

ID Translation Dan datanglah sakaratul maut dengan sebenar-benarnya. Itulah yang kamu selalu lari daripadanya.

EN Translation And [then,] the twilight of death brings with it the [full] truth that [very thing, O man,] from which thou wouldst always look away! –

وَنُفِخَ فِى الصُّوْرِۗ ذٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيْدِ ٢٠

ID Translation Dan ditiuplah sangkakala. Itulah hari terlaksananya ancaman.

EN Translation and [in the end] the trumpet [of resurrection] will be blown: that will be the Day of a warning fulfilled.

وَجَاۤءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَاۤىِٕقٌ وَّشَهِيْدٌ ٢١

ID Translation Dan datanglah tiap-tiap diri, bersama dengan dia seorang malaikat penggiring dan seorang malaikat penyaksi.

EN Translation And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind,

لَقَدْ كُنْتَ فِيْ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنْكَ غِطَاۤءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيْدٌ ٢٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya kamu berada dalam keadaan lalai dari (hal) ini, maka Kami singkapkan daripadamu tutup (yang menutupi) matamu, maka penglihatanmu pada hari itu amat tajam.

EN Translation [and will be told:] “Indeed, unmindful hast thou been of this [Day of Judgment]; but now We have lifted from thee thy veil, and sharp is thy sight today!”

وَقَالَ قَرِيْنُهٗ هٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيْدٌۗ ٢٣

ID Translation Dan yang menyertai dia berkata: "Inilah (catatan amalnya) yang tersedia pada sisiku".

EN Translation And one part of him will say: “This it is that has been ever-present with me!”

اَلْقِيَا فِيْ جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيْدٍ ٢٤

ID Translation Allah berfirman: "Lemparkanlah olehmu berdua ke dalam neraka semua orang yang sangat ingkar dan keras kepala,

EN Translation [Whereupon God will command:] “Cast, cast into hell every [such] stubborn enemy of the truth,

مَنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيْبٍۙ ٢٥

ID Translation yang sangat menghalangi kebajikan, melanggar batas lagi ragu-ragu,

EN Translation [every] withholder of good [and] sinful aggressor [and] fomentor of distrust [between man and man – everyone]

ۨالَّذِيْ جَعَلَ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَ فَاَلْقِيٰهُ فِى الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيْدِ ٢٦

ID Translation yang menyembah sembahan yang lain beserta Allah maka lemparkanlah dia ke dalam siksaan yang sangat".

EN Translation who has set up another deity beside God: cast him, then, cast him into suffering severe!”

۞ قَالَ قَرِيْنُهٗ رَبَّنَا مَآ اَطْغَيْتُهٗ وَلٰكِنْ كَانَ فِيْ ضَلٰلٍۢ بَعِيْدٍ ٢٧

ID Translation Yang menyertai dia berkata (pula): "Ya Tuhan kami, aku tidak menyesatkannya tetapi dialah yang berada dalam kesesatan yang jauh".

EN Translation Man’s other self’ will say: “O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]!

قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوْا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ اِلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَعِيْدِ ٢٨

ID Translation Allah berfirman: "Janganlah kamu bertengkar di hadapan-Ku, padahal sesungguhnya Aku dahulu telah memberikan ancaman kepadamu".

EN Translation [And] He will say: “Contend not before Me, [O you sinners,] for I gave you a forewarning [of this Day of Reckoning].

مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَآ اَنَا۠ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيْدِ ٢٩

ID Translation Keputusan di sisi-Ku tidak dapat diubah dan Aku sekali-kali tidak menganiaya hamba-hamba-Ku

EN Translation The judgment passed by Me shall not be altered; but never do I do the least wrong unto My creatures!”

يَوْمَ نَقُوْلُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَـْٔتِ وَتَقُوْلُ هَلْ مِنْ مَّزِيْدٍ ٣٠

ID Translation (Dan ingatlah akan) hari (yang pada hari itu) Kami bertanya kepada jahannam: "Apakah kamu sudah penuh?" Dia menjawab: "Masih ada tambahan?"

EN Translation On that Day We will ask hell, “Art thou filled?”- and it will answer, “[Nay,] is there yet more [for me]?”

وَاُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ غَيْرَ بَعِيْدٍ ٣١

ID Translation Dan didekatkanlah surga itu kepada orang-orang yang bertakwa pada tempat yang tiada jauh (dari mereka).

EN Translation And [on that Day] paradise will be brought within the sight of the God-conscious, and will no longer be far away; [and they will be told:]

هٰذَا مَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لِكُلِّ اَوَّابٍ حَفِيْظٍۚ ٣٢

ID Translation Inilah yang dijanjikan kepadamu, (yaitu) kepada setiap hamba yang selalu kembali (kepada Allah) lagi memelihara (semua peraturan-peraturan-Nya)

EN Translation “This is what you were promised - [promised] unto every­one who was wont to turn unto God and to keep Him always in mind –

مَنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاۤءَ بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيْبٍۙ ٣٣

ID Translation (Yaitu) orang yang takut kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Pemurah sedang Dia tidak kelihatan (olehnya) dan dia datang dengan hati yang bertaubat,

EN Translation [everyone] who stood in awe of the Most Gracious although He is beyond the reach of human perception, and who has come [unto Him] with a heart full of contrition.

ۨادْخُلُوْهَا بِسَلٰمٍ ۗذٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُوْدِ ٣٤

ID Translation masukilah surga itu dengan aman, itulah hari kekekalan.

EN Translation Enter this [paradise] in peace; this is the Day on which life abiding begins!”

لَهُمْ مَّا يَشَاۤءُوْنَ فِيْهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيْدٌ ٣٥

ID Translation Mereka di dalamnya memperoleh apa yang mereka kehendaki; dan pada sisi Kami ada tambahannya.

EN Translation In that [paradise] they shall have whatever they may desire - but there is yet more with Us.

وَكَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ اَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوْا فِى الْبِلَادِۗ هَلْ مِنْ مَّحِيْصٍ ٣٦

ID Translation Dan berapa banyaknya umat-umat yang telah Kami binasakan sebelum mereka yang mereka itu lebih besar kekuatannya daripada mereka ini, maka mereka (yang telah dibinasakan itu) telah pernah menjelajah di beberapa negeri. Adakah (mereka) mendapat tempat lari (dari kebinasaan)?

EN Translation AND HOW MANY a generation have We destroyed before those [who now deny the truth] people of greater might than theirs; but [when Our chastise­ment befell them,] they became wanderers on the face of the earth, seeking no more than a place of refuge

اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَذِكْرٰى لِمَنْ كَانَ لَهٗ قَلْبٌ اَوْ اَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيْدٌ ٣٧

ID Translation Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu benar-benar terdapat peringatan bagi orang-orang yang mempunyai akal atau yang menggunakan pendengarannya, sedang dia menyaksikannya.

EN Translation In this, behold, there is indeed a reminder for everyone whose heart is wide-awake -that is, [every­one who] lends ear with a conscious mind -

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِيْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍۖ وَّمَا مَسَّنَا مِنْ لُّغُوْبٍ ٣٨

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya telah Kami ciptakan langit dan bumi dan apa yang ada antara keduanya dalam enam masa, dan Kami sedikitpun tidak ditimpa keletihan.

EN Translation and [who knows that] We have indeed created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six aeons, and [that] no weariness could ever touch Us.

فَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوْعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوْبِ ٣٩

ID Translation Maka bersabarlah kamu terhadap apa yang mereka katakan dan bertasbihlah sambil memuji Tuhanmu sebelum terbit matahari dan sebelum terbenam(nya).

EN Translation HENCE, [O believer,] bear thou with patience what­ever they may say, and extol thy Sustainer’s limit­less glory and praise before the rising of the sun and before its setting;

وَمِنَ الَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَاَدْبَارَ السُّجُوْدِ ٤٠

ID Translation Dan bertasbihlah kamu kepada-Nya di malam hari dan setiap selesai sembahyang.

EN Translation and in the night, too, extol His glory, and at every prayer’s end.

وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِنْ مَّكَانٍ قَرِيْبٍ ٤١

ID Translation Dan dengarkanlah (seruan) pada hari penyeru (malaikat) menyeru dari tempat yang dekat.

EN Translation And [always] listen for the day when He who issues the call [of death] shall call [thee] from close-by;

يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُوْنَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ۗذٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوْجِ ٤٢

ID Translation (Yaitu) pada hari mereka mendengar teriakan dengan sebenar-benarnya itulah hari ke luar (dari kubur).

EN Translation [and bethink thyself, too, of] the Day on which all [human beings] will in truth hear the final blast - that Day of [their] coming-forth [from death].

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيٖ وَنُمِيْتُ وَاِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيْرُۙ ٤٣

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Kami menghidupkan dan mematikan dan hanya kepada Kami-lah tempat kembali (semua makhluk).

EN Translation Verily, it is We who grant life and deal death; and with Us will be all journeys’ end

يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْاَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ۗذٰلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيْرٌ ٤٤

ID Translation (Yaitu) pada hari bumi terbelah-belah menampakkan mereka (lalu mereka ke luar) dengan cepat. Yang demikian itu adalah pengumpulan yang mudah bagi Kami.

EN Translation on the Day when the earth is riven asunder all around them as they hasten forth [towards God’s judgment]: that gathering will be easy for Us [to encompass].

نَحْنُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَمَآ اَنْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِجَبَّارٍۗ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ مَنْ يَّخَافُ وَعِيْدِ ٤٥

ID Translation Kami lebih mengetahui tentang apa yang mereka katakan, dan kamu sekali-kali bukanlah seorang pemaksa terhadap mereka. Maka beri peringatanlah dengan Al Quran orang yang takut dengan ancaman-Ku.

EN Translation Fully aware are We of what they [who deny resurrection] do say; and thou canst by no means force them [to believe in it]. Yet none the less, remind, through this Qur’an, all such as may fear My warning.

وَالذّٰرِيٰتِ ذَرْوًاۙ ١

ID Translation Demi (angin) yang menerbangkan debu dengan kuat.

EN Translation CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide,

فَالْحٰمِلٰتِ وِقْرًاۙ ٢

ID Translation dan awan yang mengandung hujan,

EN Translation and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds],

فَالْجٰرِيٰتِ يُسْرًاۙ ٣

ID Translation dan kapal-kapal yang berlayar dengan mudah.

EN Translation and those that speed along with gentle ease,

فَالْمُقَسِّمٰتِ اَمْرًاۙ ٤

ID Translation dan (malaikat-malaikat) yang membagi-bagi urusan,

EN Translation and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God’s] behest!

اِنَّمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ لَصَادِقٌۙ ٥

ID Translation sesungguhnya apa yang dijanjikan kepadamu pasti benar.

EN Translation Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed,

وَّاِنَّ الدِّيْنَ لَوَاقِعٌۗ ٦

ID Translation dan sesungguhnya (hari) pembalasan pasti terjadi.

EN Translation and, verily, judgment is bound to come!

وَالسَّمَاۤءِ ذَاتِ الْحُبُكِۙ ٧

ID Translation Demi langit yang mempunyai jalan-jalan,

EN Translation CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths!

اِنَّكُمْ لَفِيْ قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍۙ ٨

ID Translation sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar dalam keadaan berbeda pendapat,

EN Translation Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe:

يُّؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ اُفِكَۗ ٩

ID Translation dipalingkan daripadanya (Rasul dan Al-Quran) orang yang dipalingkan.

EN Translation perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself!

قُتِلَ الْخَرَّاصُوْنَۙ ١٠

ID Translation Terkutuklah orang-orang yang banyak berdusta,

EN Translation They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain –

الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ فِيْ غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُوْنَۙ ١١

ID Translation (yaitu) orang-orang yang terbenam dalam kebodohan yang lalai,

EN Translation they who blunder along, in ignorance lost –

يَسْـَٔلُوْنَ اَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّيْنِۗ ١٢

ID Translation mereka bertanya: "Bilakah hari pembalasan itu?"

EN Translation they who [mockingly] ask, “When is that Day of Judgment to be?”

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُوْنَ ١٣

ID Translation (Hari pembalasan itu) ialah pada hari ketika mereka diazab di atas api neraka.

EN Translation [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire,

ذُوْقُوْا فِتْنَتَكُمْۗ هٰذَا الَّذِيْ كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ ١٤

ID Translation (Dikatakan kepada mereka): "Rasakanlah azabmu itu. Inilah azab yang dulu kamu minta untuk disegerakan".

EN Translation [and will be told:] “Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!”

اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِيْنَ فِيْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّعُيُوْنٍۙ ١٥

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang bertakwa itu berada dalam taman-taman (surga) dan mata air-mata air,

EN Translation [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs,

اٰخِذِيْنَ مَآ اٰتٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۗ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِيْنَۗ ١٦

ID Translation sambil menerima segala pemberian Rabb mereka. Sesungguhnya mereka sebelum itu di dunia adalah orang-orang yang berbuat kebaikan.

EN Translation enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because], verily, they were doers of good in the past:

كَانُوْا قَلِيْلًا مِّنَ الَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُوْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Di dunia mereka sedikit sekali tidur diwaktu malam.

EN Translation they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night,

وَبِالْاَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوْنَ ١٨

ID Translation Dan selalu memohonkan ampunan diwaktu pagi sebelum fajar.

EN Translation and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts;

وَفِيْٓ اَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّاۤىِٕلِ وَالْمَحْرُوْمِ ١٩

ID Translation Dan pada harta-harta mereka ada hak untuk orang miskin yang meminta dan orang miskin yang tidak mendapat bagian.

EN Translation and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer priva­tion.

وَفِى الْاَرْضِ اٰيٰتٌ لِّلْمُوْقِنِيْنَۙ ٢٠

ID Translation Dan di bumi itu terdapat tanda-tanda (kekuasaan Allah) bagi orang-orang yang yakin.

EN Translation AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God’s exis­tence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty,

وَفِيْٓ اَنْفُسِكُمْ ۗ اَفَلَا تُبْصِرُوْنَ ٢١

ID Translation dan (juga) pada dirimu sendiri. Maka apakah kamu tidak memperhatikan?

EN Translation just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see?

وَفِى السَّمَاۤءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوْعَدُوْنَ ٢٢

ID Translation Dan di langit terdapat (sebab-sebab) rezekimu dan terdapat (pula) apa yang dijanjikan kepadamu.

EN Translation And in heaven is [the source of] your sus­tenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]:

فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِ اِنَّهٗ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ اَنَّكُمْ تَنْطِقُوْنَ ٢٣

ID Translation Maka demi Tuhan langit dan bumi, sesungguhnya yang dijanjikan itu adalah benar-benar (akan terjadi) seperti perkataan yang kamu ucapkan.

EN Translation for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech!

هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيْثُ ضَيْفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ الْمُكْرَمِيْنَۘ ٢٤

ID Translation Sudahkah sampai kepadamu (Muhammad) cerita tentang tamu Ibrahim (yaitu malaikat-malaikat) yang dimuliakan?

EN Translation AND HAS the story of Abraham’s honoured guests ever come within thy ken?

اِذْ دَخَلُوْا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوْا سَلٰمًا ۗقَالَ سَلٰمٌۚ قَوْمٌ مُّنْكَرُوْنَ ٢٥

ID Translation (Ingatlah) ketika mereka masuk ke tempatnya lalu mengucapkan: "Salaamun". Ibrahim menjawab: "Salaamun (kamu) adalah orang-orang yang tidak dikenal".

EN Translation When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, “[And upon you be] peace!” - [saying to himself,] “They are strangers.”

فَرَاغَ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِهٖ فَجَاۤءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِيْنٍۙ ٢٦

ID Translation Maka dia pergi dengan diam-diam menemui keluarganya, kemudian dibawanya daging anak sapi gemuk.

EN Translation Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf,

فَقَرَّبَهٗٓ اِلَيْهِمْۚ قَالَ اَلَا تَأْكُلُوْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Lalu dihidangkannya kepada mereka. Ibrahim lalu berkata: "Silahkan anda makan".

EN Translation and placed it before them, saying, “Will you not eat?”

فَاَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيْفَةً ۗقَالُوْا لَا تَخَفْۗ وَبَشَّرُوْهُ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِيْمٍ ٢٨

ID Translation (Tetapi mereka tidak mau makan), karena itu Ibrahim merasa takut terhadap mereka. Mereka berkata: "Janganlah kamu takut", dan mereka memberi kabar gembira kepadanya dengan (kelahiran) seorang anak yang alim (Ishak).

EN Translation [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, “Fear not” - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge.

فَاَقْبَلَتِ امْرَاَتُهٗ فِيْ صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوْزٌ عَقِيْمٌ ٢٩

ID Translation Kemudian isterinya datang memekik lalu menepuk mukanya sendiri seraya berkata: "(Aku adalah) seorang perempuan tua yang mandul".

EN Translation Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: “A barren old woman [like me]!”

قَالُوْا كَذٰلِكِۙ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۗاِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْحَكِيْمُ الْعَلِيْمُ ۔ ٣٠

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Demikianlah Tuhanmu memfirmankan" Sesungguhnya Dialah yang Maha Bijaksana lagi Maha Mengetahui.

EN Translation They answered: “Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and, verily, He alone is truly wise, all- knowing!”
