Juz 20

۞ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهٖٓ اِلَّآ اَنْ قَالُوْٓا اَخْرِجُوْٓا اٰلَ لُوْطٍ مِّنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْۙ اِنَّهُمْ اُنَاسٌ يَّتَطَهَّرُوْنَ ٥٦

ID Translation Maka tidak lain jawaban kaumnya melainkan mengatakan: "Usirlah Luth beserta keluarganya dari negerimu; karena sesungguhnya mereka itu orang-orang yang (mendakwakan dirinya) bersih".

EN Translation But his people’s only answer was this: “Expel [Lot and] Lot’s followers from your township! Verily, they are folk who make themselves out to be pure!”

فَاَنْجَيْنٰهُ وَاَهْلَهٗٓ اِلَّا امْرَاَتَهٗ قَدَّرْنٰهَا مِنَ الْغٰبِرِيْنَ ٥٧

ID Translation Maka Kami selamatkan dia beserta keluarganya, kecuali isterinya. Kami telah mentakdirkan dia termasuk orang-orang yang tertinggal (dibinasakan).

EN Translation Thereupon We saved him and his household - all but his wife, whom We willed to be among those that stayed behind -

وَاَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَّطَرًاۚ فَسَاۤءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنْذَرِيْنَ ٥٨

ID Translation Dan Kami turunkan hujan atas mereka (hujan batu), maka amat buruklah hujan yang ditimpakan atas orang-orang yang diberi peringatan itu.

EN Translation the while We rained a rain [of destruction] upon the others: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]

قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَسَلٰمٌ عَلٰى عِبَادِهِ الَّذِيْنَ اصْطَفٰىۗ ءٰۤاللّٰهُ خَيْرٌ اَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ ۔ ٥٩

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Segala puji bagi Allah dan kesejahteraan atas hamba-hamba-Nya yang dipilih-Nya. Apakah Allah yang lebih baik, ataukah apa yang mereka persekutukan dengan Dia?"

EN Translation SAY: “All praise is due to God, and peace be upon those servants of His whom He chose [to be His message-bearers]!” Is not God far better than anything to which men [falsely] ascribe a share in His divinity?

اَمَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ وَاَنْزَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءً فَاَنْۢبَتْنَا بِهٖ حَدَاۤىِٕقَ ذَاتَ بَهْجَةٍۚ مَا كَانَ لَكُمْ اَنْ تُنْۢبِتُوْا شَجَرَهَاۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗبَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ يَّعْدِلُوْنَ ۗ ٦٠

ID Translation Atau siapakah yang telah menciptakan langit dan bumi dan yang menurunkan air untukmu dari langit, lalu Kami tumbuhkan dengan air itu kebun-kebun yang berpemandangan indah, yang kamu sekali-kali tidak mampu menumbuhkan pohon-pohonnya? Apakah disamping Allah ada tuhan (yang lain)? Bahkan (sebenarnya) mereka adalah orang-orang yang menyimpang (dari kebenaran).

EN Translation Nay - who is it that has created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you [life-giving] water from the skies? For it is by this means that We cause gardens of shining beauty to grow - [whereas] it is not in your power to cause [even one single of] its trees to grow! Could there be any divine power besides God? Nay, they [who think so] are people who swerve [from the path of reason]

اَمَّنْ جَعَلَ الْاَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَّجَعَلَ خِلٰلَهَآ اَنْهٰرًا وَّجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًاۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗبَلْ اَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ۗ ٦١

ID Translation Atau siapakah yang telah menjadikan bumi sebagai tempat berdiam, dan yang menjadikan sungai-sungai di celah-celahnya, dan yang menjadikan gunung-gunung untuk (mengkokohkan)nya dan menjadikan suatu pemisah antara dua laut? Apakah disamping Allah ada tuhan (yang lain)? Bahkan (sebenarnya) kebanyakan dari mereka tidak mengetahui.

EN Translation Nay - who is it that has made the earth a fitting abode [for living things], and has caused running waters [to flow] in its midst, and has set upon it moun­tains firm, and has placed a barrier between the two great bodies of water? Could there be any divine power besides God? Nay, most of those [who think so] do not know [what they are saying]!

اَمَّنْ يُّجِيْبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ اِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ السُّوْۤءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَاۤءَ الْاَرْضِۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗقَلِيْلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُوْنَۗ ٦٢

ID Translation Atau siapakah yang memperkenankan (doa) orang yang dalam kesulitan apabila ia berdoa kepada-Nya, dan yang menghilangkan kesusahan dan yang menjadikan kamu (manusia) sebagai khalifah di bumi? Apakah disamping Allah ada tuhan (yang lain)? Amat sedikitlah kamu mengingati(Nya).

EN Translation Nay - who is it that responds to the distressed when he calls out to Him, and who removes the ill [that caused the distress], and has made you inherit the earth? Could there be any divine power besides God? How seldom do you keep this in mind!

اَمَّنْ يَّهْدِيْكُمْ فِيْ ظُلُمٰتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَنْ يُّرْسِلُ الرِّيٰحَ بُشْرًا ۢ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهٖۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗتَعٰلَى اللّٰهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ ٦٣

ID Translation Atau siapakah yang memimpin kamu dalam kegelapan di dataran dan lautan dan siapa (pula)kah yang mendatangkan angin sebagai kabar gembira sebelum (kedatangan) rahmat-Nya? Apakah disamping Allah ada tuhan (yang lain)? Maha Tinggi Allah terhadap apa yang mereka persekutukan (dengan-Nya).

EN Translation Nay - who is it that guides you in the midst of the deep darkness of land and sea, and sends forth the winds as a glad tiding of His coming grace? Could there be any divine power besides God? Sublimely exalted is God above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity!

اَمَّنْ يَّبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗ وَمَنْ يَّرْزُقُكُمْ مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِۗ ءَاِلٰهٌ مَّعَ اللّٰهِ ۗقُلْ هَاتُوْا بُرْهَانَكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٦٤

ID Translation Atau siapakah yang menciptakan (manusia dari permulaannya), kemudian mengulanginya (lagi), dan siapa (pula) yang memberikan rezeki kepadamu dari langit dan bumi? Apakah disamping Allah ada tuhan (yang lain)?. Katakanlah: "Unjukkanlah bukti kebenaranmu, jika kamu memang orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation Nay - who is it that creates [all life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew? And who is it that provides you with sustenance out of heaven and earth? Could there be any divine power besides God? Say: “[If you think so,] produce your evidence - if you truly believe in your claim!”

قُلْ لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ الْغَيْبَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ ۗوَمَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ اَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُوْنَ ٦٥

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Tidak ada seorangpun di langit dan di bumi yang mengetahui perkara yang ghaib, kecuali Allah", dan mereka tidak mengetahui bila mereka akan dibangkitkan.

EN Translation Say: “None in the heavens or on earth knows the hidden reality [of anything that exists: none knows it] save God.” And neither can they [who are living] perceive when they shall be raised from the dead:

بَلِ ادّٰرَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِۗ بَلْ هُمْ فِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهَاۗ بَلْ هُمْ مِّنْهَا عَمُوْنَ ٦٦

ID Translation Sebenarnya pengetahuan mereka tentang akhirat tidak sampai (kesana) malahan mereka ragu-ragu tentang akhirat itu, lebih-lebih lagi mereka buta daripadanya.

EN Translation nay, their knowledge of the life to come stops short of the truth: nay, they are [often] in doubt as to its reality: nay, they are blind to it.

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا ءَاِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا وَّاٰبَاۤؤُنَآ اَىِٕنَّا لَمُخْرَجُوْنَ ٦٧

ID Translation Berkatalah orang-orang yang kafir: "Apakah setelah kita menjadi tanah dan (begitu pula) bapak-bapak kita; apakah sesungguhnya kita akan dikeluarkan (dari kubur)?

EN Translation And so, they who are bent on denying the truth are saying: “What! After we have become dust - we and our forefathers - shall we [all], forsooth, be brought forth [from the dead]?

لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هٰذَا نَحْنُ وَاٰبَاۤؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُۙ اِنْ هٰذَآ اِلَّآ اَسَاطِيْرُ الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ٦٨

ID Translation Sesungguhnya kami telah diberi ancaman dengan ini dan (juga) bapak-bapak kami dahulu; ini tidak lain hanyalah dongengan-dongengan orang dahulu kala".

EN Translation Indeed, we were promised this - we and our forefathers - in the past as well; it is nothing but fables of ancient times!”

قُلْ سِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ٦٩

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Berjalanlah kamu (di muka) bumi, lalu perhatikanlah bagaimana akibat orang-orang yang berdosa.

EN Translation Say: “Go all over the earth and behold what happened in the end to those [who were thus] lost in sin!”

وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُنْ فِيْ ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُوْنَ ٧٠

ID Translation Dan janganlah kamu berduka cita terhadap mereka, dan janganlah (dadamu) merasa sempit terhadap apa yang mereka tipudayakan".

EN Translation But do not grieve over them, and neither be distressed by the false arguments which they devise [against Gods messages].

وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الْوَعْدُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٧١

ID Translation Dan mereka (orang-orang kafir) berkata: "Bilakah datangnya azab itu, jika memang kamu orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation And [when] they ask, “When is this promise [of resurrection] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!” –

قُلْ عَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ رَدِفَ لَكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِيْ تَسْتَعْجِلُوْنَ ٧٢

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Mungkin telah hampir datang kepadamu sebagian dari (azab) yang kamu minta (supaya) disegerakan itu.

EN Translation say thou: “It may well be that something of that which [in your ignorance] you so hastily demands has already drawn close unto you.”

وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ ٧٣

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Tuhanmu benar-benar mempunyai kurnia yang besar (yang diberikan-Nya) kepada manusia, tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak mensyukuri(nya).

EN Translation Now, verily, thy Sustainer is indeed limitless in His bounty unto men - but most of them are bereft of gratitude.

وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُوْرُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُوْنَ ٧٤

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Tuhanmu, benar-benar mengetahui apa yang disembunyikan hati mereka dan apa yang mereka nyatakan.

EN Translation But, verily, thy Sustainer knows all that their hearts conceal as well as all that they bring into the open:

وَمَا مِنْ غَاۤىِٕبَةٍ فِى السَّمَاۤءِ وَالْاَرْضِ اِلَّا فِيْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٧٥

ID Translation Tiada sesuatupun yang ghaib di langit dan di bumi, melainkan (terdapat) dalam kitab yang nyata (Lauhul Mahfuzh).

EN Translation for there is nothing [so deeply] hidden in the heavens or on earth but is recorded in [His] clear decree.

اِنَّ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَ يَقُصُّ عَلٰى بَنِيْٓ اِسْرَاۤءِيْلَ اَكْثَرَ الَّذِيْ هُمْ فِيْهِ يَخْتَلِفُوْنَ ٧٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Al Quran ini menjelaskan kepada Bani lsrail sebahagian besar dari (perkara-perkara) yang mereka berselisih tentangnya.

EN Translation BEHOLD, this Qur’an explains to the children of Israel most [of that] whereon they hold divergent views;

وَاِنَّهٗ لَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٧٧

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Al Quran itu benar-benar menjadi petunjuk dan rahmat bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

EN Translation and, verily, it is a guidance and a grace unto all who believe [in it].

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِيْ بَيْنَهُمْ بِحُكْمِهٖۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْعَلِيْمُۚ ٧٨

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu akan menyelesaikan perkara antara mereka dengan keputusan-Nya, dan Dia Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Mengetahui.

EN Translation Verily, [O believer,] thy Sustainer will judge between them in His wisdom - for He alone is almighty, all-knowing.

فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّكَ عَلَى الْحَقِّ الْمُبِيْنِ ٧٩

ID Translation Sebab itu bertakwalah kepada Allah, sesungguhnya kamu berada di atas kebenaran yang nyata.

EN Translation Hence, place thy trust in God [alone] - for, behold, that in which thou believest is truth self-evident.

اِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتٰى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاۤءَ اِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِيْنَ ٨٠

ID Translation Sesungguhnya kamu tidak dapat menjadikan orang-orang yang mati mendengar dan (tidak pula) menjadikan orang-orang yang tuli mendengar panggilan, apabila mereka telah berpaling membelakang.

EN Translation [But,] verily, thou canst not make the dead hear: and [so, too,] thou canst not make the deaf [of heart] hear this call when they turn their backs [on thee] and go away,

وَمَآ اَنْتَ بِهٰدِى الْعُمْيِ عَنْ ضَلٰلَتِهِمْۗ اِنْ تُسْمِعُ اِلَّا مَنْ يُّؤْمِنُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَهُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ ٨١

ID Translation Dan kamu sekali-kali tidak dapat memimpin (memalingkan) orang-orang buta dari kesesatan mereka. Kamu tidak dapat menjadikan (seorangpun) mendengar, kecuali orang-orang yang beriman kepada ayat-ayat Kami, lalu mereka berserah diri.

EN Translation just as thou canst not lead the blind [of heart] out of their error; none canst thou make hear save such as [are willing to] believe in Our messages, and thus surrender themselves unto Us.

۞ وَاِذَا وَقَعَ الْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ اَخْرَجْنَا لَهُمْ دَاۤبَّةً مِّنَ الْاَرْضِ تُكَلِّمُهُمْ اَنَّ النَّاسَ كَانُوْا بِاٰيٰتِنَا لَا يُوْقِنُوْنَ ٨٢

ID Translation Dan apabila perkataan telah jatuh atas mereka, Kami keluarkan sejenis binatang melata dari bumi yang akan mengatakan kepada mereka, bahwa sesungguhnya manusia dahulu tidak yakin kepada ayat-ayat Kami.

EN Translation Now, [as for the deaf and blind of heart –] when the word [of truth] stands revealed against them, We shall bring forth unto them out of the earth a creature, which will tell them that mankind had no real faith in Our messages.

وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ مِنْ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍ فَوْجًا مِّمَّنْ يُّكَذِّبُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا فَهُمْ يُوْزَعُوْنَ ٨٣

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (ketika) Kami kumpulkan dari tiap-tiap umat segolongan orang-orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat Kami, lalu mereka dibagi-bagi (dalam kelompok-kelompok).

EN Translation And on that Day We shall gather from within every community a host of those who gave the lie to Our messages; and they will be grouped [according to the gravity of their sins]

حَتّٰٓى اِذَا جَاۤءُوْ قَالَ اَكَذَّبْتُمْ بِاٰيٰتِيْ وَلَمْ تُحِيْطُوْا بِهَا عِلْمًا اَمَّاذَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ٨٤

ID Translation Hingga apabila mereka datang, Allah berfirman: "Apakah kamu telah mendustakan ayat-ayat-Ku, padahal ilmu kamu tidak meliputinya, atau apakah yang telah kamu kerjakan?".

EN Translation until such a time as they shall come [to be judged. And] He will say: “Did you give the lie to My messages even though you failed to encompass them with [your] knowledge? Or what was it that [you thought] you were doing?”

وَوَقَعَ الْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِمَا ظَلَمُوْا فَهُمْ لَا يَنْطِقُوْنَ ٨٥

ID Translation Dan jatuhlah perkataan (azab) atas mereka disebabkan kezaliman mereka, maka mereka tidak dapat berkata (apa-apa).

EN Translation And the word [of truth] will stand revealed against them in the face of all the wrong which they had committed, and they will not [be able to] utter a single word [of excuse]:

اَلَمْ يَرَوْا اَنَّا جَعَلْنَا الَّيْلَ لِيَسْكُنُوْا فِيْهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًاۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٨٦

ID Translation Apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan, bahwa sesungguhnya Kami telah menjadikan malam supaya mereka beristirahat padanya dan siang yang menerangi? Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu terdapat tanda-tanda (kekuasaan Allah) bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

EN Translation for, were they not aware that it is We who had made the night for them, so that they might rest therein, and the day, to make [them] see? In this, behold, there are messages indeed for peo­ple who will believe!

وَيَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِى الصُّوْرِ فَفَزِعَ مَنْ فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَنْ فِى الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا مَنْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ ۗوَكُلٌّ اَتَوْهُ دَاخِرِيْنَ ٨٧

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (ketika) ditiup sangkakala, maka terkejutlah segala yang di langit dan segala yang di bumi, kecuali siapa yang dikehendaki Allah. Dan semua mereka datang menghadap-Nya dengan merendahkan diri.

EN Translation And on that Day the trumpet [of judgment] will be sounded, and all [creatures] that are in the heavens and all that are on earth will be stricken with terror, except such as God wills [to exempt]: and in utter lowliness all will come unto Him.

وَتَرَى الْجِبَالَ تَحْسَبُهَا جَامِدَةً وَّهِيَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحَابِۗ صُنْعَ اللّٰهِ الَّذِيْٓ اَتْقَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍۗ اِنَّهٗ خَبِيْرٌ ۢبِمَا تَفْعَلُوْنَ ٨٨

ID Translation Dan kamu lihat gunung-gunung itu, kamu sangka dia tetap di tempatnya, padahal ia berjalan sebagai jalannya awan. (Begitulah) perbuatan Allah yang membuat dengan kokoh tiap-tiap sesuatu; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation And thou wilt see the mountains, which [now] thou deemest so firm, pass away as clouds pass away: a work of God, who has ordered all things to per­fection! Verily, He is fully aware of all that you do!

مَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهٗ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهَاۚ وَهُمْ مِّنْ فَزَعٍ يَّوْمَىِٕذٍ اٰمِنُوْنَ ٨٩

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang membawa kebaikan, maka ia memperoleh (balasan) yang lebih baik dari padanya, sedang mereka itu adalah orang-orang yang aman tenteram dari pada kejutan yang dahsyat pada hari itu.

EN Translation Whoever shall come [before Him] with a good deed will gain [further] good there from; and they will be secure from the terror of that Day.

وَمَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتْ وُجُوْهُهُمْ فِى النَّارِۗ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ اِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ٩٠

ID Translation Dan barang siapa yang membawa kejahatan, maka disungkurkanlah muka mereka ke dalam neraka. Tiadalah kamu dibalasi, melainkan (setimpal) dengan apa yang dahulu kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation But they who shall come with evil deeds – their faces will be thrust into the fire, [and they will be asked:] “Is this aught but a just requital for what you were doing [in life]?”

اِنَّمَآ اُمِرْتُ اَنْ اَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هٰذِهِ الْبَلْدَةِ الَّذِيْ حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهٗ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَّاُمِرْتُ اَنْ اَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ ۙ ٩١

ID Translation Aku hanya diperintahkan untuk menyembah Tuhan negeri ini (Mekah) Yang telah menjadikannya suci dan kepunyaan-Nya-lah segala sesuatu, dan aku diperintahkan supaya aku termasuk orang-orang yang berserah diri.

EN Translation [SAY, O Muhammad:] “I have been bidden to worship the Sustainer of this City – Him who has made it sacred, and unto whom all things belong: and I have been bidden to be of those who surrender themselves to Him,

وَاَنْ اَتْلُوَا الْقُرْاٰنَ ۚفَمَنِ اهْتَدٰى فَاِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِيْ لِنَفْسِهٖۚ وَمَنْ ضَلَّ فَقُلْ اِنَّمَآ اَنَا۠ مِنَ الْمُنْذِرِيْنَ ٩٢

ID Translation Dan supaya aku membacakan Al Quran (kepada manusia). Maka barangsiapa yang mendapat petunjuk maka sesungguhnya ia hanyalah mendapat petunjuk untuk (kebaikan) dirinya, dan barangsiapa yang sesat maka katakanlah: "Sesungguhnya aku (ini) tidak lain hanyalah salah seorang pemberi peringatan".

EN Translation and to convey this Qur’an [to the world].” Whoever, therefore, chooses to follow the right path, follows it but for his own good; and if any wills to go astray, say [unto him]: “I am only a warner.

وَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ سَيُرِيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِهٖ فَتَعْرِفُوْنَهَاۗ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُوْنَ ٩٣

ID Translation Dan katakanlah: "Segala puji bagi Allah, Dia akan memperlihatkan kepadamu tanda-tanda kebesaran-Nya, maka kamu akan mengetahuinya. Dan Tuhanmu tiada lalai dari apa yang kamu kerjakan".

EN Translation And say: “All praise is due to God! In time He will make you see [the truth of] His messages, and then you shall know them [for what they are].” And thy Sustainer is not unmindful of whatever you all may do.

طٰسۤمّۤ ١

ID Translation Thaa Siin Miim

EN Translation Ta. Sin. Mim.

تِلْكَ اٰيٰتُ الْكِتٰبِ الْمُبِيْنِ ٢

ID Translation Ini adalah ayat-ayat Kitab (Al Quran) yang nyata (dari Allah).

EN Translation These are messages of a divine writ clear in itself and clearly showing the truth.

نَتْلُوْا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نَّبَاِ مُوْسٰى وَفِرْعَوْنَ بِالْحَقِّ لِقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٣

ID Translation Kami membacakan kepadamu sebagian dari kisah Musa dan Fir'aun dengan benar untuk orang-orang yang beriman.

EN Translation We [now] convey unto thee some of the story of Moses and Pharaoh, setting forth the truth for [the benefit of] people who will believe.

اِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ عَلَا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَجَعَلَ اَهْلَهَا شِيَعًا يَّسْتَضْعِفُ طَاۤىِٕفَةً مِّنْهُمْ يُذَبِّحُ اَبْنَاۤءَهُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيٖ نِسَاۤءَهُمْ ۗاِنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Fir'aun telah berbuat sewenang-wenang di muka bumi dan menjadikan penduduknya berpecah belah, dengan menindas segolongan dari mereka, menyembelih anak laki-laki mereka dan membiarkan hidup anak-anak perempuan mereka. Sesungguhnya Fir'aun termasuk orang-orang yang berbuat kerusakan.

EN Translation Behold, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and divided its people into castes. One group of them he deemed utterly low; he would slaughter their sons and spare (only) their women: for, behold, he was one of those who spread corruption [on earth].

وَنُرِيْدُ اَنْ نَّمُنَّ عَلَى الَّذِيْنَ اسْتُضْعِفُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَنَجْعَلَهُمْ اَىِٕمَّةً وَّنَجْعَلَهُمُ الْوٰرِثِيْنَ ۙ ٥

ID Translation Dan Kami hendak memberi karunia kepada orang-orang yang tertindas di bumi (Mesir) itu dan hendak menjadikan mereka pemimpin dan menjadikan mereka orang-orang yang mewarisi (bumi),

EN Translation But it was Our will to bestow Our favour upon those [very people] who were deemed [so] utterly low in the land, and to make them forerunners in faith. and to make them heirs [to Pharaoh’s glory],

وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمْ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَنُرِيَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامٰنَ وَجُنُوْدَهُمَا مِنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَحْذَرُوْنَ ٦

ID Translation dan akan Kami teguhkan kedudukan mereka di muka bumi dan akan Kami perlihatkan kepada Fir'aun dan Haman beserta tentaranya apa yang selalu mereka khawatirkan dari mereka itu.

EN Translation and to establish them securely on earth, and to let Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts experience through those [children of Israel] the very thing against which they sought to protect themselves.

وَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلٰٓى اُمِّ مُوْسٰٓى اَنْ اَرْضِعِيْهِۚ فَاِذَا خِفْتِ عَلَيْهِ فَاَلْقِيْهِ فِى الْيَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِيْ وَلَا تَحْزَنِيْ ۚاِنَّا رَاۤدُّوْهُ اِلَيْكِ وَجَاعِلُوْهُ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ٧

ID Translation Dan kami ilhamkan kepada ibu Musa; "Susuilah dia, dan apabila kamu khawatir terhadapnya maka jatuhkanlah dia ke sungai (Nil). Dan janganlah kamu khawatir dan janganlah (pula) bersedih hati, karena sesungguhnya Kami akan mengembalikannya kepadamu, dan menjadikannya (salah seorang) dari para rasul.

EN Translation And so, [when he was born,] We inspired [thus] the mother of Moses: Suckle him [for a time], and then, when thou hast cause to fear for him, cast him into the river, and have no fear and do not grieve - for We shall restore him to thee, and shall make him one of Our message-bearers!”

فَالْتَقَطَهٗٓ اٰلُ فِرْعَوْنَ لِيَكُوْنَ لَهُمْ عَدُوًّا وَّحَزَنًاۗ اِنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامٰنَ وَجُنُوْدَهُمَا كَانُوْا خٰطِـِٕيْنَ ٨

ID Translation Maka dipungutlah ia oleh keluarga Fir'aun yang akibatnya dia menjadi musuh dan kesedihan bagi mereka. Sesungguhnya Fir'aun dan Haman beserta tentaranya adalah orang-orang yang bersalah.

EN Translation And [some of] Pharaoh’s household found [and spared] him: for [We had willed] that he becomes an enemy unto them and [a source of] grief, seeing that Pharaoh and Haman and their hosts were sinners indeed!

وَقَالَتِ امْرَاَتُ فِرْعَوْنَ قُرَّتُ عَيْنٍ لِّيْ وَلَكَۗ لَا تَقْتُلُوْهُ ۖعَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّنْفَعَنَآ اَوْ نَتَّخِذَهٗ وَلَدًا وَّهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ٩

ID Translation Dan berkatalah isteri Fir'aun: "(Ia) adalah penyejuk mata hati bagiku dan bagimu. Janganlah kamu membunuhnya, mudah-mudahan ia bermanfaat kepada kita atau kita ambil ia menjadi anak", sedang mereka tiada menyadari.

EN Translation Now the wife of Pharaoh said: “A joy to the eye [could this child be] for me and thee! Slay him not: he may well be of use to us, or we may adopt him as a son!” And they had no presentiment [of what he was to become].

وَاَصْبَحَ فُؤَادُ اُمِّ مُوْسٰى فٰرِغًاۗ اِنْ كَادَتْ لَتُبْدِيْ بِهٖ لَوْلَآ اَنْ رَّبَطْنَا عَلٰى قَلْبِهَا لِتَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ١٠

ID Translation Dan menjadi kosonglah hati ibu Musa. Sesungguhnya hampir saja ia menyatakan rahasia tentang Musa, seandainya tidak Kami teguhkan hatinya, supaya ia termasuk orang-orang yang percaya (kepada janji Allah).

EN Translation On the morrow, however, an aching void grew up in the heart of the mother of Moses, and she would indeed have disclosed all about him had We not endowed her heart with enough strength to keep alive her faith [in Our promise].

وَقَالَتْ لِاُخْتِهٖ قُصِّيْهِۗ فَبَصُرَتْ بِهٖ عَنْ جُنُبٍ وَّهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ۙ ١١

ID Translation Dan berkatalah ibu Musa kepada saudara Musa yang perempuan: "Ikutilah dia" Maka kelihatanlah olehnya Musa dari jauh, sedang mereka tidak mengetahuinya,

EN Translation And so she said to his sister, “Follow him” - and [the girl] watched him from afar, while they [who had taken him in] were not aware of it,

۞ وَحَرَّمْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَرَاضِعَ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَقَالَتْ هَلْ اَدُلُّكُمْ عَلٰٓى اَهْلِ بَيْتٍ يَّكْفُلُوْنَهٗ لَكُمْ وَهُمْ لَهٗ نَاصِحُوْنَ ١٢

ID Translation dan Kami cegah Musa dari menyusu kepada perempuan-perempuan yang mau menyusui(nya) sebelum itu; maka berkatalah saudara Musa: "Maukah kamu aku tunjukkan kepadamu ahlul bait yang akan memeliharanya untukmu dan mereka dapat berlaku baik kepadanya?".

EN Translation Now from the very beginning We caused him to refuse the breast of [Egyptian] nurses; and [when his sister came to know this,] she said: “Shall I guide you to a family that might rear him for you, and look after him with good will?”

فَرَدَدْنٰهُ اِلٰٓى اُمِّهٖ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ وَلِتَعْلَمَ اَنَّ وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٣

ID Translation Maka kami kembalikan Musa kepada ibunya, supaya senang hatinya dan tidak berduka cita dan supaya ia mengetahui bahwa janji Allah itu adalah benar, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahuinya.

EN Translation And thus We restored him to his mother, so that her eye might he gladdened, and that she might grieve no longer, and that she might know that God’s promise always comes true - even though most of them know it not!

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّهٗ وَاسْتَوٰىٓ اٰتَيْنٰهُ حُكْمًا وَّعِلْمًاۗ وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِى الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ١٤

ID Translation Dan setelah Musa cukup umur dan sempurna akalnya, Kami berikan kepadanya hikmah (kenabian) dan pengetahuan. Dan demikianlah Kami memberi balasan kepada orang-orang yang berbuat baik.

EN Translation Now when [Moses] reached full manhood and had become mature [of mind]. We bestowed upon him the ability to judge [between right and wrong] as well as [innate] knowledge: for thus do We reward the doers of good.

وَدَخَلَ الْمَدِيْنَةَ عَلٰى حِيْنِ غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ اَهْلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِيْهَا رَجُلَيْنِ يَقْتَتِلٰنِۖ هٰذَا مِنْ شِيْعَتِهٖ وَهٰذَا مِنْ عَدُوِّهٖۚ فَاسْتَغَاثَهُ الَّذِيْ مِنْ شِيْعَتِهٖ عَلَى الَّذِيْ مِنْ عَدُوِّهٖ ۙفَوَكَزَهٗ مُوْسٰى فَقَضٰى عَلَيْهِۖ قَالَ هٰذَا مِنْ عَمَلِ الشَّيْطٰنِۗ اِنَّهٗ عَدُوٌّ مُّضِلٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ ١٥

ID Translation Dan Musa masuk ke kota (Memphis) ketika penduduknya sedang lengah, maka didapatinya di dalam kota itu dua orang laki-laki yang berkelahi; yang seorang dari golongannya (Bani Israil) dan seorang (lagi) dari musuhnya (kaum Fir'aun). Maka orang yang dari golongannya meminta pertolongan kepadanya, untuk mengalahkan orang yang dari musuhnya lalu Musa meninjunya, dan matilah musuhnya itu. Musa berkata: "Ini adalah perbuatan syaitan sesungguhnya syaitan itu adalah musuh yang menyesatkan lagi nyata (permusuhannya).

EN Translation And [one day] he entered the city at a time when [most of] its people were [resting in their houses,] unaware of what was going on [in the streets]; and there he encountered two men fighting with one another - one of his own people, and the other of his enemies. And the one who belonged to his own people cried out to him for help against him who was of his enemies - whereupon Moses struck him down with his fist, and [thus] brought about his end. [But then] he said [to himself]: “This is of Satan’s doing! Verily, he is an open foe, leading [man] astray!”

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ فَغَفَرَ لَهٗ ۗاِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ ١٦

ID Translation Musa mendoa: "Ya Tuhanku, sesungguhnya aku telah menganiaya diriku sendiri karena itu ampunilah aku". Maka Allah mengampuninya, sesungguhnya Allah Dialah Yang Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation [And] he prayed: O my Sustainer! Verily, I have sinned against myself! Grant me, then, Thy forgiveness!” And He forgave him - for, verily, He alone is truly forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَآ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ اَكُوْنَ ظَهِيْرًا لِّلْمُجْرِمِيْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Musa berkata: "Ya Tuhanku, demi nikmat yang telah Engkau anugerahkan kepadaku, aku sekali-kali tiada akan menjadi penolong bagi orang-orang yang berdosa".

EN Translation Said he: “O my Sustainer! [I vow] by all the blessings which Thou hast bestowed on me: Never­more shall I aid such as are lost in sin!”

فَاَصْبَحَ فِى الْمَدِيْنَةِ خَاۤىِٕفًا يَّتَرَقَّبُ فَاِذَا الَّذِى اسْتَنْصَرَهٗ بِالْاَمْسِ يَسْتَصْرِخُهٗ ۗقَالَ لَهٗ مُوْسٰٓى اِنَّكَ لَغَوِيٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ ١٨

ID Translation Karena itu, jadilah Musa di kota itu merasa takut menunggu-nunggu dengan khawatir (akibat perbuatannya), maka tiba-tiba orang yang meminta pertolongan kemarin berteriak meminta pertolongan kepadanya. Musa berkata kepadanya: "Sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar orang sesat yang nyata (kesesatannya)".

EN Translation And next morning he found himself in the city, looking fearfully about him, when lo! the one who had sought his help the day before [once again] cried out to him [for help whereupon] Moses said unto him: “Behold, thou art indeed, most clearly, deeply in the wrong!

فَلَمَّآ اَنْ اَرَادَ اَنْ يَّبْطِشَ بِالَّذِيْ هُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّهُمَاۙ قَالَ يٰمُوْسٰٓى اَتُرِيْدُ اَنْ تَقْتُلَنِيْ كَمَا قَتَلْتَ نَفْسًاۢ بِالْاَمْسِۖ اِنْ تُرِيْدُ اِلَّآ اَنْ تَكُوْنَ جَبَّارًا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَمَا تُرِيْدُ اَنْ تَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِيْنَ ١٩

ID Translation Maka tatkala Musa hendak memegang dengan keras orang yang menjadi musuh keduanya, musuhnya berkata: "Hai Musa, apakah kamu bermaksud hendak membunuhku, sebagaimana kamu kemarin telah membunuh seorang manusia? Kamu tidak bermaksud melainkan hendak menjadi orang yang berbuat sewenang-wenang di negeri (ini), dan tiadalah kamu hendak menjadi salah seorang dari orang-orang yang mengadakan perdamaian".

EN Translation But then as soon as he was about to lay violent hands on the man who was their [common] enemy, the latter exclaimed: “O Moses, dost thou intend to slay me as thou didst slay another man yesterday? Thy sole aim is to become a tyrant in this land, for thou dost not care to be of those who would set things to rights!”

وَجَاۤءَ رَجُلٌ مِّنْ اَقْصَى الْمَدِيْنَةِ يَسْعٰىۖ قَالَ يٰمُوْسٰٓى اِنَّ الْمَلَاَ يَأْتَمِرُوْنَ بِكَ لِيَقْتُلُوْكَ فَاخْرُجْ اِنِّيْ لَكَ مِنَ النّٰصِحِيْنَ ٢٠

ID Translation Dan datanglah seorang laki-laki dari ujung kota bergegas-gegas seraya berkata: "Hai Musa, sesungguhnya pembesar negeri sedang berunding tentang kamu untuk membunuhmu, sebab itu keluarlah (dari kota ini) sesungguhnya aku termasuk orang-orang yang memberi nasehat kepadamu".

EN Translation And [then and there] a man came running from the farthermost end of the city, and said: “O Moses! Behold, the great ones [of the kingdom] are deli­berating upon thy case with a view to killing thee! Begone, then: verily, I am of those who wish thee well!”

فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَاۤىِٕفًا يَّتَرَقَّبُ ۖقَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِيْ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٢١

ID Translation Maka keluarlah Musa dari kota itu dengan rasa takut menunggu-nunggu dengan khawatir, dia berdoa: "Ya Tuhanku, selamatkanlah aku dari orang-orang yang zalim itu".

EN Translation So he went forth from thence, looking fearfully about him, and prayed: “O my Sustainer! Save me from all evildoing folk!”

وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلْقَاۤءَ مَدْيَنَ قَالَ عَسٰى رَبِّيْٓ اَنْ يَّهْدِيَنِيْ سَوَاۤءَ السَّبِيْلِ ٢٢

ID Translation Dan tatkala ia menghadap kejurusan negeri Mad-yan ia berdoa (lagi): "Mudah-mudahan Tuhanku memimpinku ke jalan yang benar".

EN Translation And as he turned his face towards Madyan, he said [to himself]: “It may well be that my Sustainer will [thus] guide me onto the right path”

وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاۤءَ مَدْيَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ اُمَّةً مِّنَ النَّاسِ يَسْقُوْنَ ەۖ وَوَجَدَ مِنْ دُوْنِهِمُ امْرَاَتَيْنِ تَذُوْدٰنِۚ قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُمَا ۗقَالَتَا لَا نَسْقِيْ حَتّٰى يُصْدِرَ الرِّعَاۤءُ وَاَبُوْنَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيْرٌ ٢٣

ID Translation Dan tatkala ia sampai di sumber air negeri Mad-yan ia menjumpai di sana sekumpulan orang yang sedang meminumkan (ternaknya), dan ia menjumpai di belakang orang banyak itu, dua orang wanita yang sedang menghambat (ternaknya). Musa berkata: "Apakah maksudmu (dengan berbuat at begitu)?" Kedua wanita itu menjawab: "Kami tidak dapat meminumkan (ternak kami), sebelum pengembala-pengembala itu memulangkan (ternaknya), sedang bapak kami adalah orang tua yang telah lanjut umurnya".

EN Translation NOW WHEN he arrived at the wells of Madyan, he found there a large group of men who were watering [their herds and flocks]; and at some distance from them he came upon two women who were keeping back their flock. He asked [them]: “What is the matter with you?” They answered: “We cannot water [our animals] until the herdsmen drive [theirs] home - for [we are weak and] our father is a very old man.”

فَسَقٰى لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلّٰىٓ اِلَى الظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ لِمَآ اَنْزَلْتَ اِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيْرٌ ٢٤

ID Translation Maka Musa memberi minum ternak itu untuk (menolong) keduanya, kemudian dia kembali ke tempat yang teduh lalu berdoa: "Ya Tuhanku sesungguhnya aku sangat memerlukan sesuatu kebaikan yang Engkau turunkan kepadaku".

EN Translation So he watered [their flock] for them: and when he withdrew into the shade and prayed: “O my Sus­tainer! Verily, in dire need am I of any good which Thou mayest bestow upon me!”

فَجَاۤءَتْهُ اِحْدٰىهُمَا تَمْشِيْ عَلَى اسْتِحْيَاۤءٍ ۖقَالَتْ اِنَّ اَبِيْ يَدْعُوْكَ لِيَجْزِيَكَ اَجْرَ مَا سَقَيْتَ لَنَاۗ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهٗ وَقَصَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَصَصَۙ قَالَ لَا تَخَفْۗ نَجَوْتَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٢٥

ID Translation Kemudian datanglah kepada Musa salah seorang dari kedua wanita itu berjalan kemalu-maluan, ia berkata: "Sesungguhnya bapakku memanggil kamu agar ia memberikan balasan terhadap (kebaikan)mu memberi minum (ternak) kami". Maka tatkala Musa mendatangi bapaknya (Syu'aib) dan menceritakan kepadanya cerita (mengenai dirinya), Syu'aib berkata: "Janganlah kamu takut. Kamu telah selamat dari orang-orang yang zalim itu".

EN Translation [Shortly] afterwards, one of the two [maidens] approached him, walking shyly, and said: “Behold, my father invites thee, so that he might duly reward thee for thy having watered [our flock] for us.” And as soon as [Moses] came unto him and told him the story [of his life], he said: “Have no fear! Thou art now safe from those evildoing folk!”

قَالَتْ اِحْدٰىهُمَا يٰٓاَبَتِ اسْتَأْجِرْهُ ۖاِنَّ خَيْرَ مَنِ اسْتَأْجَرْتَ الْقَوِيُّ الْاَمِيْنُ ٢٦

ID Translation Salah seorang dari kedua wanita itu berkata: "Ya bapakku ambillah ia sebagai orang yang bekerja (pada kita), karena sesungguhnya orang yang paling baik yang kamu ambil untuk bekerja (pada kita) ialah orang yang kuat lagi dapat dipercaya".

EN Translation Said one of the two [daughters]: “O my father! Hire him: for, behold, the best [man] that thou couldst hire is one who is [as] strong and worthy of trust [as he]!”

قَالَ اِنِّيْٓ اُرِيْدُ اَنْ اُنْكِحَكَ اِحْدَى ابْنَتَيَّ هٰتَيْنِ عَلٰٓى اَنْ تَأْجُرَنِيْ ثَمٰنِيَ حِجَجٍۚ فَاِنْ اَتْمَمْتَ عَشْرًا فَمِنْ عِنْدِكَۚ وَمَآ اُرِيْدُ اَنْ اَشُقَّ عَلَيْكَۗ سَتَجِدُنِيْٓ اِنْ شَاۤءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Berkatalah dia (Syu'aib): "Sesungguhnya aku bermaksud menikahkan kamu dengan salah seorang dari kedua anakku ini, atas dasar bahwa kamu bekerja denganku delapan tahun dan jika kamu cukupkan sepuluh tahun maka itu adalah (suatu kebaikan) dari kamu, maka aku tidak hendak memberati kamu. Dan kamu Insya Allah akan mendapatiku termasuk orang-orang yang baik".

EN Translation [After some time, the father] said: “Behold, I am willing to let thee wed one of these two daughters of mine on the understanding that thou wilt remain eight years in my service; and if thou shouldst com­plete ten [years], that would be [an act of grace] from thee, for I do not want to impose any hardship on thee: [on the contrary,] thou wilt find me, if God so wills, righteous in all my dealings.”

قَالَ ذٰلِكَ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَكَۗ اَيَّمَا الْاَجَلَيْنِ قَضَيْتُ فَلَا عُدْوَانَ عَلَيَّۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى مَا نَقُوْلُ وَكِيْلٌ ٢٨

ID Translation Dia (Musa) berkata: "Itulah (perjanjian) antara aku dan kamu. Mana saja dari kedua waktu yang ditentukan itu aku sempurnakan, maka tidak ada tuntutan tambahan atas diriku (lagi). Dan Allah adalah saksi atas apa yang kita ucapkan".

EN Translation Answered [Moses]: “Thus shall it be between me and thee! Whichever of the two terms I fulfill, let there be no ill will against me. And God be witness to all that we say!”

۞ فَلَمَّا قَضٰى مُوْسَى الْاَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِاَهْلِهٖٓ اٰنَسَ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّوْرِ نَارًاۗ قَالَ لِاَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوْٓا اِنِّيْٓ اٰنَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّيْٓ اٰتِيْكُمْ مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ اَوْ جَذْوَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُوْنَ ٢٩

ID Translation Maka tatkala Musa telah menyelesaikan waktu yang ditentukan dan dia berangkat dengan keluarganya, dilihatnyalah api di lereng gunung ia berkata kepada keluarganya: "Tunggulah (di sini), sesungguhnya aku melihat api, mudah-mudahan aku dapat membawa suatu berita kepadamu dari (tempat) api itu atau (membawa) sesuluh api, agar kamu dapat menghangatkan badan".

EN Translation And when Moses had fulfilled his term and was wandering with his family [in the desert], he per­ceived a fire on the slope of Mount Sinai; [and so] he said to his family: “Wait here. Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]; perhaps I may bring you from there some tiding, or [at least] a burning brand from the fire, so that you might warm yourselves.

فَلَمَّآ اَتٰىهَا نُوْدِيَ مِنْ شَاطِئِ الْوَادِ الْاَيْمَنِ فِى الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبٰرَكَةِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَةِ اَنْ يّٰمُوْسٰٓى اِنِّيْٓ اَنَا اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ۙ ٣٠

ID Translation Maka tatkala Musa sampai ke (tempat) api itu, diserulah dia dari (arah) pinggir lembah yang sebelah kanan(nya) pada tempat yang diberkahi, dari sebatang pohon kayu, yaitu: "Ya Musa, sesungguhnya aku adalah Allah, Tuhan semesta alam.

EN Translation But when he came close to it, a call was sounded from the right-side bank of the valley, out of the tree [burning] on blessed ground: “O Moses! Verily, I am God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!”

وَاَنْ اَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۗفَلَمَّا رَاٰهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَاَنَّهَا جَاۤنٌّ وَّلّٰى مُدْبِرًا وَّلَمْ يُعَقِّبْۗ يٰمُوْسٰٓى اَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْۗ اِنَّكَ مِنَ الْاٰمِنِيْنَ ٣١

ID Translation dan lemparkanlah tongkatmu. Maka tatkala (tongkat itu menjadi ular dan) Musa melihatnya bergerak-gerak seolah-olah dia seekor ular yang gesit, larilah ia berbalik ke belakang tanpa menoleh. (Kemudian Musa diseru): "Hai Musa datanglah kepada-Ku dan janganlah kamu takut. Sesungguhnya kamu termasuk orang-orang yang aman.

EN Translation And [then He said]: “Throw down thy staff!” But as soon as [Moses] saw it move rapidly, as if it were a snake, he drew back [in terror], and did not [dare to] return. [And God spoke to him again:] “O Moses! Draw near, and have no fear - for, behold, thou art of those who are secure [in this world and in the next]!

اُسْلُكْ يَدَكَ فِيْ جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاۤءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوْۤءٍ ۖوَّاضْمُمْ اِلَيْكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ الرَّهْبِ فَذٰنِكَ بُرْهَانٰنِ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَا۟ىِٕهٖۗ اِنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا قَوْمًا فٰسِقِيْنَ ٣٢

ID Translation Masukkanlah tanganmu ke leher bajumu, niscaya ia keluar putih tidak bercacat bukan karena penyakit, dan dekapkanlah kedua tanganmu (ke dada)mu bila ketakutan, maka yang demikian itu adalah dua mukjizat dari Tuhanmu (yang akan kamu hadapkan kepada Fir'aun dan pembesar-pembesarnya). Sesungguhnya mereka adalah orang-orang yang fasik".

EN Translation “[And now] put thy hand into thy bosom: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish. And [henceforth] hold thine arm close to thyself, free of all fear. “These, then, shall be the two signs [of thy bearing a message] from thy Sustainer unto Pharaoh and his great ones - for, behold, they are people depraved!”

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْ قَتَلْتُ مِنْهُمْ نَفْسًا فَاَخَافُ اَنْ يَّقْتُلُوْنِ ٣٣

ID Translation Musa berkata: "Ya Tuhanku sesungguhnya aku, telah membunuh seorang manusia dari golongan mereka, maka aku takut mereka akan membunuhku.

EN Translation Said [Moses] “O my Sustainer! I have slain one of them, and so I fear that they will slay me.

وَاَخِيْ هٰرُوْنُ هُوَ اَفْصَحُ مِنِّيْ لِسَانًا فَاَرْسِلْهُ مَعِيَ رِدْءًا يُّصَدِّقُنِيْٓ ۖاِنِّيْٓ اَخَافُ اَنْ يُّكَذِّبُوْنِ ٣٤

ID Translation Dan saudaraku Harun dia lebih fasih lidahnya daripadaku, maka utuslah dia bersamaku sebagai pembantuku untuk membenarkan (perkataan)ku; sesungguhnya aku khawatir mereka akan mendustakanku".

EN Translation And my brother Aaron - he is far better in speech than I am. Send him, therefore, as a helper, so that he might [more eloquently] bear witness to my speaking the truth: for I fear indeed that they will give me the lie.”

قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِاَخِيْكَ وَنَجْعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلْطٰنًا فَلَا يَصِلُوْنَ اِلَيْكُمَا ۛبِاٰيٰتِنَا ۛ اَنْتُمَا وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَكُمَا الْغٰلِبُوْنَ ٣٥

ID Translation Allah berfirman: "Kami akan membantumu dengan saudaramu, dan Kami berikan kepadamu berdua kekuasaan yang besar, maka mereka tidak dapat mencapaimu; (berangkatlah kamu berdua) dengan membawa mukjizat Kami, kamu berdua dan orang yang mengikuti kamulah yang akan menang.

EN Translation Said He: “We shall strengthen thine arm through thy brother, and endow both of you with power, so that they will not be able to touch you: by virtue of Our messages shall you two, and all who follow you, prevail!”

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمْ مُّوْسٰى بِاٰيٰتِنَا بَيِّنٰتٍ قَالُوْا مَا هٰذَآ اِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّفْتَرًىۙ وَّمَا سَمِعْنَا بِهٰذَا فِيْٓ اٰبَاۤىِٕنَا الْاَوَّلِيْنَ ٣٦

ID Translation Maka tatkala Musa datang kepada mereka dengan (membawa) mukjizat-mukjizat Kami yang nyata, mereka berkata: "Ini tidak lain hanyalah sihir yang dibuat-buat dan kami belum pernah mendengar (seruan yang seperti) ini pada nenek moyang kami dahulu".

EN Translation But as soon as Moses came unto them with Our clear messages [Pharaoh and his great ones] said: “All this is nothing but spellbinding eloquence devised [by man]: and never did we hear [the like of] this, [nor has it ever been heard of] in the time of our forebears of old!”

وَقَالَ مُوْسٰى رَبِّيْٓ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالْهُدٰى مِنْ عِنْدِهٖ وَمَنْ تَكُوْنُ لَهٗ عَاقِبَةُ الدَّارِۗ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ ٣٧

ID Translation Musa menjawab: "Tuhanku lebih mengetahui orang yang (patut) membawa petunjuk dari sisi-Nya dan siapa yang akan mendapat kesudahan (yang baik) di negeri akhirat. Sesungguhnya tidaklah akan mendapat kemenangan orang-orang yang zalim".

EN Translation And Moses replied: “My Sustainer knows best as to who comes with guidance from Him, and to whom the future belongs! Verily, never will evil­doers attain to a happy state!”

وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يٰٓاَيُّهَا الْمَلَاُ مَا عَلِمْتُ لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرِيْۚ فَاَوْقِدْ لِيْ يٰهَامٰنُ عَلَى الطِّيْنِ فَاجْعَلْ لِّيْ صَرْحًا لَّعَلِّيْٓ اَطَّلِعُ اِلٰٓى اِلٰهِ مُوْسٰىۙ وَاِنِّيْ لَاَظُنُّهٗ مِنَ الْكٰذِبِيْنَ ٣٨

ID Translation Dan berkata Fir'aun: "Hai pembesar kaumku, aku tidak mengetahui tuhan bagimu selain aku. Maka bakarlah hai Haman untukku tanah liat kemudian buatkanlah untukku bangunan yang tinggi supaya aku dapat naik melihat Tuhan Musa, dan sesungguhnya aku benar-benar yakin bahwa dia termasuk orang-orang pendusta".

EN Translation Whereupon Pharaoh said: “O you nobles! I did not know that you could have any deity other than myself Well, then, O Haman, kindle me a fire for [baking bricks of] clay, and then build me a lofty tower, that haply I may have a look at the god of Moses although, behold, I am convinced that he is of those who [always] tell lies!”

وَاسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُوْدُهٗ فِى الْاَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوْٓا اَنَّهُمْ اِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُوْنَ ٣٩

ID Translation dan berlaku angkuhlah Fir'aun dan bala tentaranya di bumi (Mesir) tanpa alasan yang benar dan mereka menyangka bahwa mereka tidak akan dikembalikan kepada Kami.

EN Translation Thus arrogantly, without the least good sense, did he and his hosts behave on earth - just as if they thought that they would never have to appear before Us [for judgment]!

فَاَخَذْنٰهُ وَجُنُوْدَهٗ فَنَبَذْنٰهُمْ فِى الْيَمِّ ۚفَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٤٠

ID Translation Maka Kami hukumlah Fir'aun dan bala tentaranya, lalu Kami lemparkan mereka ke dalam laut. Maka lihatlah bagaimana akibat orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation And so We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea: and behold what happened in the end to those evildoers:

وَجَعَلْنٰهُمْ اَىِٕمَّةً يَّدْعُوْنَ اِلَى النَّارِۚ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ لَا يُنْصَرُوْنَ ٤١

ID Translation Dan Kami jadikan mereka pemimpin-pemimpin yang menyeru (manusia) ke neraka dan pada hari kiamat mereka tidak akan ditolong.

EN Translation [We destroyed them,] and We set them up as archetypes [of evil] that show the way to the fire [of hell]; and [whereas] no succour will come to them on Resurrection Day,

وَاَتْبَعْنٰهُمْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً ۚوَيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ هُمْ مِّنَ الْمَقْبُوْحِيْنَ ٤٢

ID Translation Dan Kami ikutkanlah laknat kepada mereka di dunia ini; dan pada hari kiamat mereka termasuk orang-orang yang dijauhkan (dari rahmat Allah).

EN Translation We have caused a curse to follow them in this world as well; and on Resurrection Day they will find themselves among those who are bereft of all good.

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَآ اَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُوْنَ الْاُوْلٰى بَصَاۤىِٕرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَّرَحْمَةً لَّعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٤٣

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya telah Kami berikan kepada Musa Al-Kitab (Taurat) sesudah Kami binasakan generasi-generasi yang terdahulu, untuk menjadi pelita bagi manusia dan petunjuk dan rahmat, agar mereka ingat.

EN Translation And [then,] indeed, after We had destroyed those earlier generations [of sinners], We vouchsafed unto Moses [Our] revelation as a means of insight for men, and as a guidance and grace, so that they might bethink themselves [of Us].

وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ اِذْ قَضَيْنَآ اِلٰى مُوْسَى الْاَمْرَ وَمَا كُنْتَ مِنَ الشّٰهِدِيْنَ ۙ ٤٤

ID Translation Dan tidaklah kamu (Muhammad) berada di sisi yang sebelah barat ketika Kami menyampaikan perintah kepada Musa, dan tiada pula kamu termasuk orang-orang yang menyaksikan.

EN Translation NOW [as for thee, O Muhammad,] thou wert not present on the sunset slope [of Mount Sinai] when We imposed the Law upon Moses, nor wert thou among those who witnessed [his times]:

وَلٰكِنَّآ اَنْشَأْنَا قُرُوْنًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُۚ وَمَا كُنْتَ ثَاوِيًا فِيْٓ اَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ تَتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِنَاۙ وَلٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِيْنَ ٤٥

ID Translation Tetapi Kami telah mengadakan beberapa generasi, dan berlalulah atas mereka masa yang panjang, dan tiadalah kamu tinggal bersama-sama penduduk Mad-yan dengan membacakan ayat-ayat Kami kepada mereka, tetapi Kami telah mengutus rasul-rasul.

EN Translation nay, but [between them and thee] We brought into being [many] generations, and long was their span of life. And neither didst thou dwell among the people of Madyan, conveying Our messages unto them: nay, but We have [always] been sending [Our message-bearers unto man].

وَمَا كُنْتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّوْرِ اِذْ نَادَيْنَا وَلٰكِنْ رَّحْمَةً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ اَتٰىهُمْ مِّنْ نَّذِيْرٍ مِّنْ قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٤٦

ID Translation Dan tiadalah kamu berada di dekat gunung Thur ketika Kami menyeru (Musa), tetapi (Kami beritahukan itu kepadamu) sebagai rahmat dari Tuhanmu, supaya kamu memberi peringatan kepada kaum (Quraisy) yang sekali-kali belum datang kepada mereka pemberi peringatan sebelum kamu agar mereka ingat.

EN Translation And neither wert thou present on the slope of Mount Sinai when We called out [to Moses]: but [thou, too, art sent] as an act of thy Sustainer’s grace, to warn people to whom no warner has come before thee, so that they might bethink themselves [of Us];

وَلَوْلَآ اَنْ تُصِيْبَهُمْ مُّصِيْبَةٌ ۢبِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَيْدِيْهِمْ فَيَقُوْلُوْا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَآ اَرْسَلْتَ اِلَيْنَا رَسُوْلًا فَنَتَّبِعَ اٰيٰتِكَ وَنَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٤٧

ID Translation Dan agar mereka tidak mengatakan ketika azab menimpa mereka disebabkan apa yang mereka kerjakan: "Ya Tuhan kami, mengapa Engkau tidak mengutus seorang rasul kepada kami, lalu kami mengikuti ayat-ayat Engkau dan jadilah kami termasuk orang-orang mukmin".

EN Translation and [We have sent thee] lest they say [on Judg­ment Day], when disaster befalls them as an outcome of what their own hands have wrought, “O our Sus­tainer, if only Thou had sent an apostle unto us, we would have followed Thy messages, and would have been among those who believe!”

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوْا لَوْلَآ اُوْتِيَ مِثْلَ مَآ اُوْتِيَ مُوْسٰىۗ اَوَلَمْ يَكْفُرُوْا بِمَآ اُوْتِيَ مُوْسٰى مِنْ قَبْلُۚ قَالُوْا سِحْرٰنِ تَظَاهَرَاۗ وَقَالُوْٓا اِنَّا بِكُلٍّ كٰفِرُوْنَ ٤٨

ID Translation Maka tatkala datang kepada mereka kebenaran dari sisi Kami, mereka berkata: "Mengapakah tidak diberikan kepadanya (Muhammad) seperti yang telah diberikan kepada Musa dahulu?". Dan bukankah mereka itu telah ingkar (juga) kepada apa yang telah diberikan kepada Musa dahulu?; mereka dahulu telah berkata: "Musa dan Harun adalah dua ahli sihir yang bantu membantu". Dan mereka (juga) berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami tidak mempercayai masing-masing mereka itu".

EN Translation And yet, now that the truth has come unto them from Us, they say, “Why has he not been vouch­safed the like of what Moses was vouchsafed?” But did they not also, before this, deny the truth of what Moses was vouchsafed? [For] they do say, “Two examples of delusion, [seemingly] supporting each other!” And they add, “Behold, we refuse to accept either of them as true!”

قُلْ فَأْتُوْا بِكِتٰبٍ مِّنْ عِنْدِ اللّٰهِ هُوَ اَهْدٰى مِنْهُمَآ اَتَّبِعْهُ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ٤٩

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Datangkanlah olehmu sebuah kitab dari sisi Allah yang kitab itu lebih (dapat) memberi petunjuk daripada keduanya (Taurat dan Al Quran) niscaya aku mengikutinya, jika kamu sungguh orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation Say: “Produce, then, [another] revelation from God which would offer better guidance than either of these two [and] I shall follow it, if you speak the truth!”

فَاِنْ لَّمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَكَ فَاعْلَمْ اَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُوْنَ اَهْوَاۤءَهُمْۗ وَمَنْ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ هَوٰىهُ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى مِّنَ اللّٰهِ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٥٠

ID Translation Maka jika mereka tidak menjawab (tantanganmu) ketahuilah bahwa sesungguhnya mereka hanyalah mengikuti hawa nafsu mereka (belaka). Dan siapakah yang lebih sesat daripada orang yang mengikuti hawa nafsunya dengan tidak mendapat petunjuk dari Allah sedikitpun. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak memberi petunjuk kepada orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation And since they cannot respond to this thy challenge, know that they are following only their own likes and dislikes: and who could be more astray than he who follows [but] his own likes and dislikes without any guidance from God? Verily, God does not grace with His guidance peo­ple who are given to evildoing!

۞ وَلَقَدْ وَصَّلْنَا لَهُمُ الْقَوْلَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُوْنَ ۗ ٥١

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya telah Kami turunkan berturut-turut perkataan ini (Al Quran) kepada mereka agar mereka mendapat pelajaran.

EN Translation NOW, INDEED, We have caused this word [of Ours] to reach mankind step by step, so that they might [learn to] keep it in mind.

اَلَّذِيْنَ اٰتَيْنٰهُمُ الْكِتٰبَ مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ هُمْ بِهٖ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ ٥٢

ID Translation Orang-orang yang telah Kami datangkan kepada mereka Al Kitab sebelum Al Quran, mereka beriman (pula) dengan Al Quran itu.

EN Translation As for those unto whom We have vouchsafed revelation aforetime - they [are bound to] believe in this one [as well];

وَاِذَا يُتْلٰى عَلَيْهِمْ قَالُوْٓا اٰمَنَّا بِهٖٓ اِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّنَآ اِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ مُسْلِمِيْنَ ٥٣

ID Translation Dan apabila dibacakan (Al Quran itu) kepada mereka, mereka berkata: "Kami beriman kepadanya; sesungguhnya; Al Quran itu adalah suatu kebenaran dari Tuhan kami, sesungguhnya kami sebelumnya adalah orang-orang yang membenarkan(nya).

EN Translation and whenever it is [clearly] conveyed unto them, they [are bound to] profess, “We have come to believe in it, for, behold, it is the truth from our Sustainer - and, verily, even before this have we surrendered ourselves unto Him!”

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يُؤْتَوْنَ اَجْرَهُمْ مَّرَّتَيْنِ بِمَا صَبَرُوْا وَيَدْرَءُوْنَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنٰهُمْ يُنْفِقُوْنَ ٥٤

ID Translation Mereka itu diberi pahala dua kali disebabkan kesabaran mereka, dan mereka menolak kejahatan dengan kebaikan, dan sebagian dari apa yang telah Kami rezekikan kepada mereka, mereka nafkahkan.

EN Translation These it is that shall receive a twofold reward for having been patient in adversity, and having repelled evil with good, and having spent on others out of what We provided for them as sus­tenance,

وَاِذَا سَمِعُوا اللَّغْوَ اَعْرَضُوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوْا لَنَآ اَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ اَعْمَالُكُمْ ۖسَلٰمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ لَا نَبْتَغِى الْجٰهِلِيْنَ ٥٥

ID Translation Dan apabila mereka mendengar perkataan yang tidak bermanfaat, mereka berpaling daripadanya dan mereka berkata: "Bagi kami amal-amal kami dan bagimu amal-amalmu, kesejahteraan atas dirimu, kami tidak ingin bergaul dengan orang-orang jahil".

EN Translation and, whenever they heard frivolous talk, having turned away from it and said: “Unto us shall be accounted Our deeds, and unto you, your deeds. Peace be upon you - [but] we do not seek out such as are ignorant [of the meaning of right and wrong].”

اِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِيْ مَنْ اَحْبَبْتَ وَلٰكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَهْدِيْ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۚوَهُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِيْنَ ٥٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya kamu tidak akan dapat memberi petunjuk kepada orang yang kamu kasihi, tetapi Allah memberi petunjuk kepada orang yang dikehendaki-Nya, dan Allah lebih mengetahui orang-orang yang mau menerima petunjuk.

EN Translation VERILY, thou canst not guide aright everyone whom thou lovest: but it is God who guides him that wills [to be guided]; and He is fully aware of all who would let themselves be guided.

وَقَالُوْٓا اِنْ نَّتَّبِعِ الْهُدٰى مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفْ مِنْ اَرْضِنَاۗ اَوَلَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَّهُمْ حَرَمًا اٰمِنًا يُّجْبٰٓى اِلَيْهِ ثَمَرٰتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رِّزْقًا مِّنْ لَّدُنَّا وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٥٧

ID Translation Dan mereka berkata: "Jika kami mengikuti petunjuk bersama kamu, niscaya kami akan diusir dari negeri kami". Dan apakah Kami tidak meneguhkan kedudukan mereka dalam daerah haram (tanah suci) yang aman, yang didatangkan ke tempat itu buah-buahan dari segala macam (tumbuh-tumbuhan) untuk menjadi rezeki (bagimu) dari sisi Kami?. Tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak mengetahui.

EN Translation Now some say, “If we were to follow the guidance to which thou invitest us, we would be torn away from our very soil!” Why - have We not established for them a sanc­tuary secure, to which, as a provision from Us, shall be gathered the fruits of all (good) things? But most of them are unaware [of this truth].

وَكَمْ اَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ ۢ بَطِرَتْ مَعِيْشَتَهَا ۚفَتِلْكَ مَسٰكِنُهُمْ لَمْ تُسْكَنْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِهِمْ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًاۗ وَكُنَّا نَحْنُ الْوَارِثِيْنَ ٥٨

ID Translation Dan berapa banyaknya (penduduk) negeri yang telah Kami binasakan, yang sudah bersenang-senang dalam kehidupannya; maka itulah tempat kediaman mereka yang tiada di diami (lagi) sesudah mereka, kecuali sebahagian kecil. Dan Kami adalah Pewaris(nya).

EN Translation And how many a community that [once] exult­ed in its wanton wealth and ease of life have We destroyed, so that those dwelling-places of theirs – all but a few - have never been dwelt-in after them: for it is indeed We alone who shall remain when all else will have passed away!

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ الْقُرٰى حَتّٰى يَبْعَثَ فِيْٓ اُمِّهَا رَسُوْلًا يَّتْلُوْا عَلَيْهِمْ اٰيٰتِنَاۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِى الْقُرٰىٓ اِلَّا وَاَهْلُهَا ظٰلِمُوْنَ ٥٩

ID Translation Dan tidak adalah Tuhanmu membinasakan kota-kota, sebelum Dia mengutus di ibukota itu seorang rasul yang membacakan ayat-ayat Kami kepada mereka; dan tidak pernah (pula) Kami membinasakan kota-kota; kecuali penduduknya dalam keadaan melakukan kezaliman.

EN Translation Yet, withal, thy Sustainer would never destroy a community without having [first] raised in its midst an apostle who would convey unto them Our mes­sages; and never would We destroy a community unless its people are wont to do wrong [to one another].

وَمَآ اُوْتِيْتُمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِيْنَتُهَا ۚوَمَا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ وَّاَبْقٰىۗ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ٦٠

ID Translation Dan apa saja yang diberikan kepada kamu, maka itu adalah kenikmatan hidup duniawi dan perhiasannya; sedang apa yang di sisi Allah adalah lebih baik dan lebih kekal. Maka apakah kamu tidak memahaminya?

EN Translation And [remember:] whatever you are given [now] is but for the [passing] enjoyment of life in this world, and for its embellishment - whereas that which is with God is [so much] better and more enduring. Will you not, then, use your reason?

اَفَمَنْ وَّعَدْنٰهُ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَاقِيْهِ كَمَنْ مَّتَّعْنٰهُ مَتَاعَ الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِيْنَ ٦١

ID Translation Maka apakah orang yang Kami janjikan kepadanya suatu janji yang baik (surga) lalu ia memperolehnya, sama dengan orang yang Kami berikan kepadanya kenikmatan hidup duniawi; kemudian dia pada hari kiamat termasuk orang-orang yang diseret (ke dalam neraka)?

EN Translation Is, then, he to whom We have given that goodly promise which he shall see fulfilled [on his resurrection] comparable to one on whom We have bestowed [all] the enjoyments of this worldly life but who, on Resurrection Day, will find himself among those that shall be arraigned [before Us]?

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْهِمْ فَيَقُوْلُ اَيْنَ شُرَكَاۤءِيَ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْنَ ٦٢

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (di waktu) Allah menyeru mereka, seraya berkata: "Di manakah sekutu-sekutu-Ku yang dahulu kamu katakan?"

EN Translation For, on that Day He will call unto them, and will ask: “Where, now, are those [beings or powers] whom you imagined to have a share in My divinity?”

قَالَ الَّذِيْنَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ رَبَّنَا هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ الَّذِيْنَ اَغْوَيْنَاۚ اَغْوَيْنٰهُمْ كَمَا غَوَيْنَاۚ تَبَرَّأْنَآ اِلَيْكَ مَا كَانُوْٓا اِيَّانَا يَعْبُدُوْنَ ٦٣

ID Translation Berkatalah orang-orang yang telah tetap hukuman atas mereka; "Ya Tuhan kami, mereka inilah orang-orang yang kami sesatkan itu; kami telah menyesatkan mereka sebagaimana kami (sendiri) sesat, kami menyatakan berlepas diri (dari mereka) kepada Engkau, mereka sekali-kali tidak menyembah kami".

EN Translation [whereupon] they against whom the word [of truth] shall thus stand revealed will exclaim: O our Sustainer! Those whom we caused to err so grievously, we but caused to err as we our­selves had been erring. We [now] disavow them before Thee: it was not us that they worshipped!”

وَقِيْلَ ادْعُوْا شُرَكَاۤءَكُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَهُمْ ۗوَرَاَوُا الْعَذَابَۚ لَوْ اَنَّهُمْ كَانُوْا يَهْتَدُوْنَ ٦٤

ID Translation Dikatakan (kepada mereka) "Serulah olehmu sekutu-sekutu kamu", lalu mereka menyerunya, maka sekutu-sekutu itu tidak memperkenankan (seruan) mereka, dan mereka melihat azab. (Mereka ketika itu berkeinginan) kiranya mereka dahulu menerima petunjuk.

EN Translation And [they] will be told: “Call [now] unto those [beings or powers] to whom you were wont to ascribe a share in God’s divinity!” and they will call unto them [for help], but those [fake objects of worship] will not respond to them: whereupon they will see the suffering [that awaits them - the suffering which could have been avoided] if only they had allowed them­selves to be guided!

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْهِمْ فَيَقُوْلُ مَاذَآ اَجَبْتُمُ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ ٦٥

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (di waktu) Allah menyeru mereka, seraya berkata: "Apakah jawabanmu kepada para rasul?"

EN Translation And on that Day He will call unto them, and will ask: “How did you respond to My message­ bearers?”

فَعَمِيَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْاَنْۢبَاۤءُ يَوْمَىِٕذٍ فَهُمْ لَا يَتَسَاۤءَلُوْنَ ٦٦

ID Translation Maka gelaplah bagi mereka segala macam alasan pada hari itu, karena itu mereka tidak saling tanya menanya.

EN Translation but all arguments and excuses will by then have been erased from their minds, and they will not [be able to] obtain any [helpful] answer from one another.

فَاَمَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَاٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَعَسٰٓى اَنْ يَّكُوْنَ مِنَ الْمُفْلِحِيْنَ ٦٧

ID Translation Adapun orang yang bertaubat dan beriman, serta mengerjakan amal yang saleh, semoga dia termasuk orang-orang yang beruntung.

EN Translation But as against this - anyone who repents and attains to faith and does righteous deeds may well [hope to] find himself among those who achieve a happy state [in the life to come].

وَرَبُّكَ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاۤءُ وَيَخْتَارُ ۗمَا كَانَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ ۗسُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ وَتَعٰلٰى عَمَّا يُشْرِكُوْنَ ٦٨

ID Translation Dan Tuhanmu menciptakan apa yang Dia kehendaki dan memilihnya. Sekali-kali tidak ada pilihan bagi mereka. Maha Suci Allah dan Maha Tinggi dari apa yang mereka persekutukan (dengan Dia).

EN Translation AND [thus it is:] thy Sustainer creates whatever He wills; and He chooses [for mankind] whatever is best for them. Limitless is God in His glory, and sub­limely exalted above anything to which they may ascribe a share in His divinity!

وَرَبُّكَ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُوْرُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُوْنَ ٦٩

ID Translation Dan Tuhanmu mengetahui apa yang disembunyikan (dalam) dada mereka dan apa yang mereka nyatakan.

EN Translation And thy Sustainer knows all that their hearts conceal as well as all that they bring into the open:

وَهُوَ اللّٰهُ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ ۗ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِى الْاُوْلٰى وَالْاٰخِرَةِ ۖوَلَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ ٧٠

ID Translation Dan Dialah Allah, tidak ada Tuhan (yang berhak disembah) melainkan Dia, bagi-Nya-lah segala puji di dunia dan di akhirat, dan bagi-Nya-lah segala penentuan dan hanya kepada-Nya-lah kamu dikembalikan.

EN Translation for He is God, save whom there is no deity. Unto Him all praise is due, at the beginning and at the end [of time]; and with Him rests all judgment; and unto Him shall you all be brought back.

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكُمُ الَّيْلَ سَرْمَدًا اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ مَنْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللّٰهِ يَأْتِيْكُمْ بِضِيَاۤءٍ ۗ اَفَلَا تَسْمَعُوْنَ ٧١

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Terangkanlah kepadaku, jika Allah menjadikan untukmu malam itu terus menerus sampai hari kiamat, siapakah Tuhan selain Allah yang akan mendatangkan sinar terang kepadamu? Maka apakah kamu tidak mendengar?"

EN Translation Say: “Have you ever considered [this]: If God had willed that there should always be night about you, without break, until the Day of Resurrection - is there any deity other than God that could bring you light? Will you not, then, listen [to the truth]?”

قُلْ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكُمُ النَّهَارَ سَرْمَدًا اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيٰمَةِ مَنْ اِلٰهٌ غَيْرُ اللّٰهِ يَأْتِيْكُمْ بِلَيْلٍ تَسْكُنُوْنَ فِيْهِ ۗ اَفَلَا تُبْصِرُوْنَ ٧٢

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Terangkanlah kepadaku, jika Allah menjadikan untukmu siang itu terus menerus sampai hari kiamat, siapakah Tuhan selain Allah yang akan mendatangkan malam kepadamu yang kamu beristirahat padanya? Maka apakah kamu tidak memperhatikan?"

EN Translation Say: “Have you ever considered [this]: If God had willed that there should always be daylight about you, without break, until the Day of Resurrection - is there any deity other than God that could bring you [the darkness of] night, wherein you might rest? Will you not, then, see [the truth]?”

وَمِنْ رَّحْمَتِهٖ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لِتَسْكُنُوْا فِيْهِ وَلِتَبْتَغُوْا مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُوْنَ ٧٣

ID Translation Dan karena rahmat-Nya, Dia jadikan untukmu malam dan siang, supaya kamu beristirahat pada malam itu dan supaya kamu mencari sebahagian dari karunia-Nya (pada siang hari) dan agar kamu bersyukur kepada-Nya.

EN Translation For it is out of His grace that He has made for you the night and the day, so that you might rest therein as well as seek to obtain [what you need] of His bounty: and [He gave you all this] so that you might have cause to be grateful.

وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيْهِمْ فَيَقُوْلُ اَيْنَ شُرَكَاۤءِيَ الَّذِيْنَ كُنْتُمْ تَزْعُمُوْنَ ٧٤

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) hari (di waktu) Allah menyeru mereka, seraya berkata: "Di manakah sekutu-sekutu-Ku yang dahulu kamu katakan?"

EN Translation AND ON THAT DAY He will call unto those [that shall have been arraigned before His judgment seat], and will ask: “Where, now, are those [beings or powers] whom you imagined to have a share in My divinity?”

وَنَزَعْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍ شَهِيْدًا فَقُلْنَا هَاتُوْا بُرْهَانَكُمْ فَعَلِمُوْٓا اَنَّ الْحَقَّ لِلّٰهِ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَفْتَرُوْنَ ٧٥

ID Translation Dan Kami datangkan dari tiap-tiap umat seorang saksi, lalu Kami berkata "Tunjukkanlah bukti kebenaranmu", maka tahulah mereka bahwasanya yang hak itu kepunyaan Allah dan lenyaplah dari mereka apa yang dahulunya mereka ada-adakan.

EN Translation And [they will remain silent: for by then] We will have called forth witnesses from within every community, and will have said [unto the sinners]: “Produce an evidence for what you have been claim­ing!” And so they will come to understand that all truth is God’s [alone]; and all their false imagery will have forsaken them.

۞ اِنَّ قَارُوْنَ كَانَ مِنْ قَوْمِ مُوْسٰى فَبَغٰى عَلَيْهِمْ ۖوَاٰتَيْنٰهُ مِنَ الْكُنُوْزِ مَآ اِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهٗ لَتَنُوْۤاُ بِالْعُصْبَةِ اُولِى الْقُوَّةِ اِذْ قَالَ لَهٗ قَوْمُهٗ لَا تَفْرَحْ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَرِحِيْنَ ٧٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Karun adalah termasuk kaum Musa, maka ia berlaku aniaya terhadap mereka, dan Kami telah menganugerahkan kepadanya perbendaharaan harta yang kunci-kuncinya sungguh berat dipikul oleh sejumlah orang yang kuat-kuat. (Ingatlah) ketika kaumnya berkata kepadanya: "Janganlah kamu terlalu bangga; sesungguhnya Allah tidak menyukai orang-orang yang terlalu membanggakan diri".

EN Translation [NOW,] BEHOLD, Qarun was one of the people of Moses; but he arrogantly exalted himself above them - simply because We had granted him such riches that his treasure-chests alone would surely have been too heavy a burden for a troop of ten men or even more. When [they perceived his arrogance,] his people said unto him: “Exult not [in thy wealth], for, verily, God does not love those who exult [in things vain]!

وَابْتَغِ فِيْمَآ اٰتٰىكَ اللّٰهُ الدَّارَ الْاٰخِرَةَ وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيْبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَاَحْسِنْ كَمَآ اَحْسَنَ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْكَ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِى الْاَرْضِ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ٧٧

ID Translation Dan carilah pada apa yang telah dianugerahkan Allah kepadamu (kebahagiaan) negeri akhirat, dan janganlah kamu melupakan bahagianmu dari (kenikmatan) duniawi dan berbuat baiklah (kepada orang lain) sebagaimana Allah telah berbuat baik, kepadamu, dan janganlah kamu berbuat kerusakan di (muka) bumi. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak menyukai orang-orang yang berbuat kerusakan.

EN Translation Seek instead, by means of what God has granted thee, [the good of] the life to come, without forget­ting, withal, thine own [rightful] share in this world; and do good [unto others] as God has done good unto thee; and seek not to spread corruption on earth: for, verily, God does not love the spreaders of corruption!”

قَالَ اِنَّمَآ اُوْتِيْتُهٗ عَلٰى عِلْمٍ عِنْدِيْۗ اَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ قَدْ اَهْلَكَ مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ مِنَ الْقُرُوْنِ مَنْ هُوَ اَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَّاَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۗوَلَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ ذُنُوْبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُوْنَ ٧٨

ID Translation Karun berkata: "Sesungguhnya aku hanya diberi harta itu, karena ilmu yang ada padaku". Dan apakah ia tidak mengetahui, bahwasanya Allah sungguh telah membinasakan umat-umat sebelumnya yang lebih kuat daripadanya, dan lebih banyak mengumpulkan harta? Dan tidaklah perlu ditanya kepada orang-orang yang berdosa itu, tentang dosa-dosa mereka.

EN Translation Answered he: “This [wealth] has been given to me only by virtue of the knowledge that is in me!” Did he not know that God had destroyed [the arrogant of] many a generation that preceded him - people who were greater than he in power, and richer in what they had amassed? But such as are lost in sin may not be asked about, their sins.

فَخَرَجَ عَلٰى قَوْمِهٖ فِيْ زِيْنَتِهٖ ۗقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ يُرِيْدُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا يٰلَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَآ اُوْتِيَ قَارُوْنُۙ اِنَّهٗ لَذُوْ حَظٍّ عَظِيْمٍ ٧٩

ID Translation Maka keluarlah Karun kepada kaumnya dalam kemegahannya. Berkatalah orang-orang yang menghendaki kehidupan dunia: "Moga-moga kiranya kita mempunyai seperti apa yang telah diberikan kepada Karun; sesungguhnya ia benar-benar mempunyai keberuntungan yang besar".

EN Translation And so he went forth before his people in all his pomp; [and] those who cared only for the life of this world would say, “Oh, if we but had the like of what Qarun has been given! Verily, with tremendous good fortune is he endowed!”

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ اٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ۚوَلَا يُلَقّٰىهَآ اِلَّا الصّٰبِرُوْنَ ٨٠

ID Translation Berkatalah orang-orang yang dianugerahi ilmu: "Kecelakaan yang besarlah bagimu, pahala Allah adalah lebih baik bagi orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal saleh, dan tidak diperoleh pahala itu, kecuali oleh orang-orang yang sabar".

EN Translation But those who had been granted true knowl­edge said: “Woe unto you! Merit in the sight of God is by far the best for any who attains to faith and does what is right: but none save the patient in adversity can ever achieve this [blessing].”

فَخَسَفْنَا بِهٖ وَبِدَارِهِ الْاَرْضَ ۗفَمَا كَانَ لَهٗ مِنْ فِئَةٍ يَّنْصُرُوْنَهٗ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ ۖوَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُنْتَصِرِيْنَ ٨١

ID Translation Maka Kami benamkanlah Karun beserta rumahnya ke dalam bumi. Maka tidak ada baginya suatu golonganpun yang menolongnya terhadap azab Allah. Dan tiadalah ia termasuk orang-orang (yang dapat) membela (dirinya).

EN Translation And thereupon We caused the earth to swallow him and his dwelling; and he had none and nothing to succour him against God, nor was he of those who could succour themselves.

وَاَصْبَحَ الَّذِيْنَ تَمَنَّوْا مَكَانَهٗ بِالْاَمْسِ يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَيْكَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهٖ وَيَقْدِرُۚ لَوْلَآ اَنْ مَّنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا ۗوَيْكَاَنَّهٗ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكٰفِرُوْنَ ٨٢

ID Translation Dan jadilah orang-orang yang kemarin mencita-citakan kedudukan Karun itu, berkata: "Aduhai, benarlah Allah melapangkan rezeki bagi siapa yang Dia kehendaki dari hamba-hambanya dan menyempitkannya; kalau Allah tidak melimpahkan karunia-Nya atas kita benar-benar Dia telah membenamkan kita (pula). Aduhai benarlah, tidak beruntung orang-orang yang mengingkari (nikmat Allah)".

EN Translation And on the morrow, those who but yesterday had longed to be in his place exclaimed: “Alas [for our not having been aware] that it is indeed God [alone] who grants abundant sustenance, or gives it in scant measure, unto whichever He wills of His crea­tures! Had not God been gracious to us, He might have caused [the earth] to swallow us, too! Alas [for our having forgotten] that those who deny the truth can never attain to a happy state!”

تِلْكَ الدَّارُ الْاٰخِرَةُ نَجْعَلُهَا لِلَّذِيْنَ لَا يُرِيْدُوْنَ عُلُوًّا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَلَا فَسَادًا ۗوَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ ٨٣

ID Translation Negeri akhirat itu, Kami jadikan untuk orang-orang yang tidak ingin menyombongkan diri dan berbuat kerusakan di (muka) bumi. Dan kesudahan (yang baik) itu adalah bagi orang-orang yang bertakwa.

EN Translation As for that [happy] life in the hereafter, We grant it [only] to those who do not seek to exalt themselves on earth, nor yet to spread corruption: for the future belongs to the God-conscious.

مَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهٗ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهَاۚ وَمَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ فَلَا يُجْزَى الَّذِيْنَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّاٰتِ اِلَّا مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ٨٤

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang datang dengan (membawa) kebaikan, maka baginya (pahala) yang lebih baik daripada kebaikannya itu; dan barangsiapa yang datang dengan (membawa) kejahatan, maka tidaklah diberi pembalasan kepada orang-orang yang telah mengerjakan kejahatan itu, melainkan (seimbang) dengan apa yang dahulu mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation Whosoever shall come [before God] with a good deed will gain [further] good there from; but as for any who shall come with an evil deed - [know that] they who do evil deeds will not be requited with more than [the like of] what they have done.

اِنَّ الَّذِيْ فَرَضَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْاٰنَ لَرَاۤدُّكَ اِلٰى مَعَادٍ ۗقُلْ رَّبِّيْٓ اَعْلَمُ مَنْ جَاۤءَ بِالْهُدٰى وَمَنْ هُوَ فِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٨٥

ID Translation Sesungguhnya yang mewajibkan atasmu (melaksanakan hukum-hukum) Al Quran, benar-benar akan mengembalikan kamu ke tempat kembali. Katakanlah: "Tuhanku mengetahui orang yang membawa petunjuk dan orang yang dalam kesesatan yang nyata".

EN Translation VERILY, [O believer,] He who has laid down this Qur’an in plain terms, making it binding on thee, will assuredly bring thee back [from death] to a life renewed. Say [unto those who reject the truth]: My Sus­tainer knows best, as to who is right-guided and who is obviously lost in error!”

وَمَا كُنْتَ تَرْجُوْٓا اَنْ يُّلْقٰٓى اِلَيْكَ الْكِتٰبُ اِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُوْنَنَّ ظَهِيْرًا لِّلْكٰفِرِيْنَ ۖ ٨٦

ID Translation Dan kamu tidak pernah mengharap agar Al Quran diturunkan kepadamu, tetapi ia (diturunkan) karena suatu rahmat yang besar dari Tuhanmu, sebab itu janganlah sekali-kali kamu menjadi penolong bagi orang-orang kafir.

EN Translation Now [as for thyself, O believer,] thou couldst never foresee that this divine writ would [one day] be offered to thee: but [it did come to thee] by thy Sustainer’s grace. Hence, never uphold those who deny the truth [of divine guidance],

وَلَا يَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنْ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ بَعْدَ اِذْ اُنْزِلَتْ اِلَيْكَ وَادْعُ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِيْنَ ۚ ٨٧

ID Translation Dan janganlah sekali-kali mereka dapat menghalangimu dari (menyampaikan) ayat-ayat Allah, sesudah ayat-ayat itu diturunkan kepadamu, dan serulah mereka kepada (jalan) Tuhanmu, dan janganlah sekali-sekali kamu termasuk orang-orang yang mempersekutukan Tuhan.

EN Translation and never let them turn thee away from God’s messages after they have been bestowed upon thee from on high: instead summon [all men] to thy Sustainer. And never be of those who ascribe divinity to aught but Him,

وَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ اللّٰهِ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَۘ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۗ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ هَالِكٌ اِلَّا وَجْهَهٗ ۗ لَهُ الْحُكْمُ وَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ ٨٨

ID Translation Janganlah kamu sembah di samping (menyembah) Allah, tuhan apapun yang lain. Tidak ada Tuhan (yang berhak disembah) melainkan Dia. Tiap-tiap sesuatu pasti binasa, kecuali Allah. Bagi-Nya-lah segala penentuan, dan hanya kepada-Nya-lah kamu dikembalikan.

EN Translation and never call upon any other deity side by side with God. There is no deity save Him. Everything is bound to perish, save His [eternal] self. With Him rests all judgment; and unto Him shall you all be brought back.

الۤمّۤ ۗ ١

ID Translation Alif laam miim

EN Translation Alif. Lam. Mim.

اَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ اَنْ يُّتْرَكُوْٓا اَنْ يَّقُوْلُوْٓا اٰمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُوْنَ ٢

ID Translation Apakah manusia itu mengira bahwa mereka dibiarkan (saja) mengatakan: "Kami telah beriman", sedang mereka tidak diuji lagi?

EN Translation DO MEN THINK that on their [mere] saying, “We have attained to faith”, they will be left to themselves, and will not be put to a test?

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِيْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ صَدَقُوْا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكٰذِبِيْنَ ٣

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya kami telah menguji orang-orang yang sebelum mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui orang-orang yang benar dan sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui orang-orang yang dusta.

EN Translation Yea, indeed, We did test those who lived before them; and so, [too, shall be tested the people now living: and] most certainly will God mark out those who prove themselves true, and most certainly will He mark out those who are lying.

اَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِيْنَ يَعْمَلُوْنَ السَّيِّاٰتِ اَنْ يَّسْبِقُوْنَا ۗسَاۤءَ مَا يَحْكُمُوْنَ ٤

ID Translation Ataukah orang-orang yang mengerjakan kejahatan itu mengira bahwa mereka akan luput (dari azab) Kami? Amatlah buruk apa yang mereka tetapkan itu.

EN Translation Or do they think - they who do evil deeds [while claiming to have attained to faith] - that they can escape Us? Bad, indeed, is their judgment!

مَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُوْا لِقَاۤءَ اللّٰهِ فَاِنَّ اَجَلَ اللّٰهِ لَاٰتٍ ۗوَهُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ٥

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang mengharap pertemuan dengan Allah, maka sesungguhnya waktu (yang dijanjikan) Allah itu, pasti datang. Dan Dialah Yang Maha mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui.

EN Translation Whoever looks forward [with hope and awe] to meeting God [on Resurrection Day, let him be ready for it]: for, behold, the end set by God [for every­one’s life] is bound to come - and He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing!

وَمَنْ جَاهَدَ فَاِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهٖ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٦

ID Translation Dan barangsiapa yang berjihad, maka sesungguhnya jihadnya itu adalah untuk dirinya sendiri. Sesungguhnya Allah benar-benar Maha Kaya (tidak memerlukan sesuatu) dari semesta alam.

EN Translation Hence, whoever strives hard [in God’s cause] does so only for his own good: for, verily, God does not stand in need of anything in all the worlds!

وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّاٰتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ اَحْسَنَ الَّذِيْ كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ٧

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang beriman dan beramal saleh, benar-benar akan Kami hapuskan dari mereka dosa-dosa mereka dan benar-benar akan Kami beri mereka balasan yang lebih baik dari apa yang mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation And as for those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds, We shall most certainly efface their [previous] bad deeds, and shall most certainly reward them in accordance with the best that they ever did.

وَوَصَّيْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۗوَاِنْ جَاهَدٰكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِيْ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۗاِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَاُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ ٨

ID Translation Dan Kami wajibkan manusia (berbuat) kebaikan kepada dua orang ibu-bapaknya. Dan jika keduanya memaksamu untuk mempersekutukan Aku dengan sesuatu yang tidak ada pengetahuanmu tentang itu, maka janganlah kamu mengikuti keduanya. Hanya kepada-Ku-lah kembalimu, lalu Aku kabarkan kepadamu apa yang telah kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation Now [among the best of righteous deeds which] We have enjoined upon man [is] goodness towards his parents; yet [even so,] should they endeavour to make thee ascribe divinity, side by side with Me, to something which thy mind cannot accept [as divine], obey then, not: [for] it is unto Me that you all must return, whereupon I shall make you [truly] understand [the right and wrong of] all that you were doing [in life].

وَالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ٩

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal saleh benar-benar akan Kami masukkan mereka ke dalam (golongan) orang-orang yang saleh.

EN Translation But as for those who have attained to faith and have done righteous deeds, We shall most certainly cause them to join the righteous [in the hereafter as well].

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَّقُوْلُ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ فَاِذَآ اُوْذِيَ فِى اللّٰهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللّٰهِ ۗوَلَىِٕنْ جَاۤءَ نَصْرٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُوْلُنَّ اِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْۗ اَوَلَيْسَ اللّٰهُ بِاَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِيْ صُدُوْرِ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١٠

ID Translation Dan di antara manusia ada orang yang berkata: "Kami beriman kepada Allah", maka apabila ia disakiti (karena ia beriman) kepada Allah, ia menganggap fitnah manusia itu sebagai azab Allah. Dan sungguh jika datang pertolongan dari Tuhanmu, mereka pasti akan berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami adalah besertamu". Bukankah Allah lebih mengetahui apa yang ada dalam dada semua manusia?

EN Translation Now there is among men many a one who says [of himself and of others like him], “We do believe in God” - but whenever he is made to suffer in God’s cause, he thinks that persecution at the hands of man is as [much to be feared, or even more than,] God’s chastisement; whereas, if succour from thy Sustainer comes [to those who truly believe] he is sure to say. “Behold, we have always been with you!” Is not God fully aware of what is in the hearts of all creatures?

وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ ١١

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Allah benar-benar mengetahui orang-orang yang beriman: dan sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui orang-orang yang munafik.

EN Translation [Yea-] and most certainly will God mark out those who have [truly] attained to faith, and most certainly will He mark out the hypocrites.

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا لِلَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوْا سَبِيْلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطٰيٰكُمْۗ وَمَا هُمْ بِحَامِلِيْنَ مِنْ خَطٰيٰهُمْ مِّنْ شَيْءٍۗ اِنَّهُمْ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ ١٢

ID Translation Dan berkatalah orang-orang kafir kepada orang-orang yang beriman: "Ikutilah jalan kami, dan nanti kami akan memikul dosa-dosamu", dan mereka (sendiri) sedikitpun tidak (sanggup), memikul dosa-dosa mereka. Sesungguhnya mereka adalah benar-benar orang pendusta.

EN Translation And [He is aware, too, that] they who are bent on denying the truth speak [thus, as it were,] to those who have attained to faith: “Follow our way [of life], and we shall indeed take your sins upon ourselves!” But never could they take upon themselves aught of the sins of those [whom they would thus mislead]: behold, they are liars indeed!

وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ اَثْقَالَهُمْ وَاَثْقَالًا مَّعَ اَثْقَالِهِمْ وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوْا يَفْتَرُوْنَ ١٣

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya mereka akan memikul beban (dosa) mereka, dan beban-beban (dosa yang lain) di samping beban-beban mereka sendiri, dan sesungguhnya mereka akan ditanya pada hari kiamat tentang apa yang selalu mereka ada-adakan.

EN Translation Yet most certainly will they have to bear their own burdens, and other burdens besides their own; and most certainly will they be called to account on Resurrection Day for all their false assertions!

وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖ فَلَبِثَ فِيْهِمْ اَلْفَ سَنَةٍ اِلَّا خَمْسِيْنَ عَامًا ۗفَاَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوْفَانُ وَهُمْ ظٰلِمُوْنَ ١٤

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah mengutus Nuh kepada kaumnya, maka ia tinggal di antara mereka seribu tahun kurang lima puluh tahun. Maka mereka ditimpa banjir besar, dan mereka adalah orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation And, indeed, [in times long past] We sent forth Noah unto his people, and he dwelt among them a thousand years bar fifty; and then the floods over­whelmed them while they were still lost in evildoing:

فَاَنْجَيْنٰهُ وَاَصْحٰبَ السَّفِيْنَةِ وَجَعَلْنٰهَآ اٰيَةً لِّلْعٰلَمِيْنَ ١٥

ID Translation Maka Kami selamatkan Nuh dan penumpang-penumpang bahtera itu dan Kami jadikan peristiwa itu pelajaran bagi semua umat manusia.

EN Translation but We saved him, together with all who were in the ark, which We then set up as a symbol [of Our grace] for all people [to remember].

وَاِبْرٰهِيْمَ اِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَاتَّقُوْهُ ۗذٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ١٦

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) Ibrahim, ketika ia berkata kepada kaumnya: "Sembahlah olehmu Allah dan bertakwalah kepada-Nya. Yang demikian itu adalah lebih baik bagimu, jika kamu mengetahui.

EN Translation And Abraham, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: “Worship God, and be conscious of Him: this is the best for you, if you but knew it!

اِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَوْثَانًا وَّتَخْلُقُوْنَ اِفْكًا ۗاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ تَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ لَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَابْتَغُوْا عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ الرِّزْقَ وَاعْبُدُوْهُ وَاشْكُرُوْا لَهٗ ۗاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Sesungguhnya apa yang kamu sembah selain Allah itu adalah berhala, dan kamu membuat dusta. Sesungguhnya yang kamu sembah selain Allah itu tidak mampu memberikan rezeki kepadamu; maka mintalah rezeki itu di sisi Allah, dan sembahlah Dia dan bersyukurlah kepada-Nya. Hanya kepada-Nya-lah kamu akan dikembalikan.

EN Translation You worship only [lifeless] idols instead of God, and [thus] you give visible shape to a lie! Behold, those [things and beings] that you worship instead of God have it not in their power to provide sustenance for you: seek, then, all [your] sustenance from God, and worship Him [alone] and be grateful to Him: [for] unto Him you shall be brought back!

وَاِنْ تُكَذِّبُوْا فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ اُمَمٌ مِّنْ قَبْلِكُمْ ۗوَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُوْلِ اِلَّا الْبَلٰغُ الْمُبِيْنُ ١٨

ID Translation Dan jika kamu (orang kafir) mendustakan, maka umat yang sebelum kamu juga telah mendustakan. Dan kewajiban rasul itu, tidak lain hanyalah menyampaikan (agama Allah) dengan seterang-terangnya".

EN Translation “And if you give [me] the lie - well, [other] communities have given the lie [to Gods prophets] before your time: but no more is an apostle bound to do than clearly deliver the message [entrusted to him].”

اَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ اللّٰهُ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيْدُهٗ ۗاِنَّ ذٰلِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيْرٌ ١٩

ID Translation Dan apakah mereka tidak memperhatikan bagaimana Allah menciptakan (manusia) dari permulaannya, kemudian mengulanginya (kembali). Sesungguhnya yang demikian itu adalah mudah bagi Allah.

EN Translation Are then they [who deny the truth] not aware of how God creates [life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew? This, verily, is easy for God!

قُلْ سِيْرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوْا كَيْفَ بَدَاَ الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ اللّٰهُ يُنْشِئُ النَّشْاَةَ الْاٰخِرَةَ ۗاِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ۚ ٢٠

ID Translation Katakanlah: "Berjalanlah di (muka) bumi, maka perhatikanlah bagaimana Allah menciptakan (manusia) dari permulaannya, kemudian Allah menjadikannya sekali lagi. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Kuasa atas segala sesuatu.

EN Translation Say: “Go all over the earth and behold how [wondrously] He has created [man] in the first in­stance: and thus, too, will God bring into being your second life for, verily, God has the power to will anything!

يُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَنْ يَّشَاۤءُ ۚوَاِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُوْنَ ٢١

ID Translation Allah mengazab siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya, dan memberi rahmat kepada siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya, dan hanya kepada-Nya-lah kamu akan dikembalikan.

EN Translation He causes to suffer whomever He wills, and bestows His mercy on whomever He wills; and unto Him you shall be made to return:

وَمَآ اَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِيْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَلَا فِى السَّمَاۤءِ ۖوَمَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ وَّلِيٍّ وَّلَا نَصِيْرٍ ٢٢

ID Translation Dan kamu sekali-kali tidak dapat melepaskan diri (dari azab Allah) di bumi dan tidak (pula) di langit dan sekali-kali tiadalah bagimu pelindung dan penolong selain Allah.

EN Translation and never - not on earth and not in the skies - can you [hope to] elude Him: and you have none to protect you from God, and none to bring you succour.”

وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَلِقَاۤىِٕهٖٓ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يَىِٕسُوْا مِنْ رَّحْمَتِيْ وَاُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ٢٣

ID Translation Dan orang-orang yang kafir terhadap ayat-ayat Allah dan pertemuan dengan Dia, mereka putus asa dari rahmat-Ku, dan mereka itu mendapat azab yang pedih.

EN Translation And [thus it is:] they who are bent on denying the truth of God’s messages and of their [ultimate] meeting with Him - it is they who abandon all hope of My grace and mercy: and it is they whom grievous suffering awaits [in the life to come].

فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهٖٓ اِلَّآ اَنْ قَالُوا اقْتُلُوْهُ اَوْ حَرِّقُوْهُ فَاَنْجٰىهُ اللّٰهُ مِنَ النَّارِۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُّؤْمِنُوْنَ ٢٤

ID Translation Maka tidak adalah jawaban kaum Ibrahim, selain mengatakan: "Bunuhlah atau bakarlah dia", lalu Allah menyelamatkannya dari api. Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu benar-benar terdapat tanda-tanda kebesaran Allah bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

EN Translation Now [as for Abraham,] his people’s only answer was, “Slay him, or burn him!” – but God saved him from the fire. Behold, in this [story] there are messages indeed for people who will believe!

وَقَالَ اِنَّمَا اتَّخَذْتُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَوْثَانًاۙ مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِى الْحَيٰوةِ الدُّنْيَا ۚ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُمْ بِبَعْضٍ وَّيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا ۖوَّمَأْوٰىكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ نّٰصِرِيْنَۖ ٢٥

ID Translation Dan berkata Ibrahim: "Sesungguhnya berhala-berhala yang kamu sembah selain Allah adalah untuk menciptakan perasaan kasih sayang di antara kamu dalam kehidupan dunia ini kemudian di hari kiamat sebahagian kamu mengingkari sebahagian (yang lain) dan sebahagian kamu melaknati sebahagian (yang lain); dan tempat kembalimu ialah neraka, dan sekali-kali tak ada bagimu para penolongpun.

EN Translation And [Abraham] said: “You have chosen to worship idols instead of God for no other reason than to have a bond of love in the life of this world, between yourselves [and your forebears]: but then, on Resurrection Day, you shall disown one another and curse one another - for the goal of you all will be the fire, and you will have none to succour you.

۞ فَاٰمَنَ لَهٗ لُوْطٌۘ وَقَالَ اِنِّيْ مُهَاجِرٌ اِلٰى رَبِّيْ ۗاِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ٢٦

ID Translation Maka Luth membenarkan (kenabian)nya. Dan berkatalah Ibrahim: "Sesungguhnya aku akan berpindah ke (tempat yang diperintahkan) Tuhanku (kepadaku); sesungguhnya Dialah Yang Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation Thereupon [his brother’s son] Lot came to believe in him and said: “Verily, I [too] shall forsake the domain of evil [and turn] to my Sustainer: for, verily, He alone is almighty, truly wise!”

وَوَهَبْنَا لَهٗٓ اِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ النُّبُوَّةَ وَالْكِتٰبَ وَاٰتَيْنٰهُ اَجْرَهٗ فِى الدُّنْيَا ۚوَاِنَّهٗ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ لَمِنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Dan Kami anugrahkan kepda Ibrahim, Ishak dan Ya'qub, dan Kami jadikan kenabian dan Al Kitab pada keturunannya, dan Kami berikan kepadanya balasannya di dunia; dan sesungguhnya dia di akhirat, benar-benar termasuk orang-orang yang saleh.

EN Translation And [as for Abraham,] We bestowed upon him Isaac and [Isaac’s son] Jacob, and caused pro­phethood and revelation to continue among his offspring. And We vouchsafed him his reward in this world; and, verily, in the life to come [too] he shall find himself among the righteous.

وَلُوْطًا اِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهٖٓ اِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُوْنَ الْفَاحِشَةَ ۖمَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ اَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ ٢٨

ID Translation Dan (ingatlah) ketika Luth berkata pepada kaumnya: "Sesungguhnya kamu benar-benar mengerjakan perbuatan yang amat keji yang belum pernah dikerjakan oleh seorangpun dari umat-umat sebelum kamu".

EN Translation And Lot, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: “Verily, you commit abominations such as none in all the world has ever committed before you!

اَىِٕنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُوْنَ الرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُوْنَ السَّبِيْلَ ەۙ وَتَأْتُوْنَ فِيْ نَادِيْكُمُ الْمُنْكَرَ ۗفَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهٖٓ اِلَّآ اَنْ قَالُوا ائْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ اللّٰهِ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٢٩

ID Translation Apakah sesungguhnya kamu patut mendatangi laki-laki, menyamun dan mengerjakan kemungkaran di tempat-tempat pertemuanmu? Maka jawaban kaumnya tidak lain hanya mengatakan: "Datangkanlah kepada kami azab Allah, jika kamu termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation Must you indeed approach men [with lust], and thus cut across the way [of nature]? and must you commit these shameful deeds in your open] assemblies?” But his people’s only answer was, “Bring down upon us God’s chastisement, if thou art a man of truth!”

قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِيْ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ ٣٠

ID Translation Luth berdoa: "Ya Tuhanku, tolonglah aku (dengan menimpakan azab) atas kaum yang berbuat kerusakan itu".

EN Translation [And] he prayed: “O my Sustainer! Succour Thou me against these people who spread corrup­tion!”

وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ بِالْبُشْرٰىۙ قَالُوْٓا اِنَّا مُهْلِكُوْٓا اَهْلِ هٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ ۚاِنَّ اَهْلَهَا كَانُوْا ظٰلِمِيْنَ ۚ ٣١

ID Translation Dan tatkala utusan Kami (para malaikat) datang kepada Ibrahim membawa kabar gembira, mereka mengatakan: "Sesungguhnya kami akan menghancurkan penduduk negeri (Sodom) ini; sesungguhnya penduduknya adalah orang-orang yang zalim".

EN Translation And so, when Our [heavenly] messengers came to Abraham with the glad tiding [of the birth of Isaac], they [also] said, “Behold, we are about to destroy the people of that land, for its people are truly evildoers!”

قَالَ اِنَّ فِيْهَا لُوْطًا ۗقَالُوْا نَحْنُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ فِيْهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهٗ وَاَهْلَهٗٓ اِلَّا امْرَاَتَهٗ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغٰبِرِيْنَ ٣٢

ID Translation Berkata Ibrahim: "Sesungguhnya di kota itu ada Luth". Para malaikat berkata: "Kami lebih mengetahui siapa yang ada di kota itu. Kami sungguh-sungguh akan menyelamatkan dia dan pengikut-pengikutnya kecuali isterinya. Dia adalah termasuk orang-orang yang tertinggal (dibinasakan).

EN Translation [And when Abraham] exclaimed, “But Lot lives there!” - they answered: We know fully well who is there; most certainly we shall save him and his household - all but his wife: she will indeed be among those that stay behind.”

وَلَمَّآ اَنْ جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوْطًا سِيْۤءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَّقَالُوْا لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۗاِنَّا مُنَجُّوْكَ وَاَهْلَكَ اِلَّا امْرَاَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغٰبِرِيْنَ ٣٣

ID Translation Dan tatkala datang utusan-utusan Kami (para malaikat) itu kepada Luth, dia merasa susah karena (kedatangan) mereka, dan (merasa) tidak punya kekuatan untuk melindungi mereka dan mereka berkata: "Janganlah kamu takut dan jangan (pula) susah. Sesungguhnya kami akan menyelamatkan kamu dan pengikut-pengikutmu, kecuali isterimu, dia adalah termasuk orang-orang yang tertinggal (dibinasakan)".

EN Translation And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was sorely grieved on their account, seeing that it was beyond his power to shield them; but they said: “Fear not, and grieve not! Behold, we shall save thee and thy household - all but thy wife: she will indeed be among those that stay behind.

اِنَّا مُنْزِلُوْنَ عَلٰٓى اَهْلِ هٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ السَّمَاۤءِ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَفْسُقُوْنَ ٣٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Kami akan menurunkan azab dari langit atas penduduk kota ini karena mereka berbuat fasik.

EN Translation Verily, we shall bring down upon the people of this land a horror from heaven in requital of all their iniquitous doings!”

وَلَقَدْ تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَآ اٰيَةً ۢ بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَّعْقِلُوْنَ ٣٥

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami tinggalkan daripadanya satu tanda yang nyata bagi orang-orang yang berakal.

EN Translation And [so it happened; and] thereof, indeed, We have left a clear sign for people who use their reason.

وَاِلٰى مَدْيَنَ اَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًاۙ فَقَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَارْجُوا الْيَوْمَ الْاٰخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ مُفْسِدِيْنَ ۖ ٣٦

ID Translation Dan (Kami telah mengutus) kepada penduduk Mad-yan, saudara mereka Syu'aib, maka ia berkata: "Hai kaumku, sembahlah olehmu Allah, harapkanlah (pahala) hari akhir, dan jangan kamu berkeliaran di muka bumi berbuat kerusakan".

EN Translation AND UNTO [the people of] Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu’ayb who thereupon said: “O my peo­ple! Worship God [alone], and look forward to the Last Day, and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption!”

فَكَذَّبُوْهُ فَاَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَاَصْبَحُوْا فِيْ دَارِهِمْ جٰثِمِيْنَ ۙ ٣٧

ID Translation Maka mereka mendustakan Syu'aib, lalu mereka ditimpa gempa yang dahsyat, dan jadilah mereka mayat-mayat yang bergelimpangan di tempat-tempat tinggal mereka.

EN Translation But they gave him the lie. Thereupon an earthquake overtook them: and then they lay lifeless, in their very homes, on the ground.

وَعَادًا وَّثَمُوْدَا۟ وَقَدْ تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُمْ مِّنْ مَّسٰكِنِهِمْۗ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطٰنُ اَعْمَالَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّبِيْلِ وَكَانُوْا مُسْتَبْصِرِيْنَ ۙ ٣٨

ID Translation Dan (juga) kaum 'Aad dan Tsamud, dan sungguh telah nyata bagi kamu (kehancuran mereka) dari (puing-puing) tempat tinggal mereka. Dan syaitan menjadikan mereka memandang baik perbuatan-perbuatan mereka, lalu ia menghalangi mereka dari jalan (Allah), sedangkan mereka adalah orang-orang berpandangan tajam,

EN Translation AND [the tribes of] Ad and Thamud [too, did We destroy -] as should have become obvious to you from [whatever there remains of] their dwellings. [They perished] because Satan had made their [sinful] doings seem goodly to them, and thus had barred them from the path [of God] despite their having been endowed with the ability to perceive the truth.

وَقَارُوْنَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامٰنَۗ وَلَقَدْ جَاۤءَهُمْ مُّوْسٰى بِالْبَيِّنٰتِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوْا سَابِقِيْنَ ۚ ٣٩

ID Translation dan (juga) Karun, Fir'aun dan Haman. Dan sesungguhnya telah datang kepada mereka Musa dengan (membawa bukti-bukti) keterangan-keterangan yang nyata. Akan tetapi mereka berlaku sombong di (muka) bumi, dan tiadalah mereka orang-orang yang luput (dari kehancuran itu).

EN Translation And [thus, too, did We deal with] Qarun and Pharaoh, and Haman: to them had come Moses with all evidence of the truth, but they behaved arrogantly on earth [and rejected him]; and withal, they could not escape [Us].

فَكُلًّا اَخَذْنَا بِذَنْۢبِهٖۙ فَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ اَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا ۚوَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ اَخَذَتْهُ الصَّيْحَةُ ۚوَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ الْاَرْضَۚ وَمِنْهُمْ مَّنْ اَغْرَقْنَاۚ وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ كَانُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُوْنَ ٤٠

ID Translation Maka masing-masing (mereka itu) Kami siksa disebabkan dosanya, maka di antara mereka ada yang Kami timpakan kepadanya hujan batu kerikil dan di antara mereka ada yang ditimpa suara keras yang mengguntur, dan di antara mereka ada yang Kami benamkan ke dalam bumi, dan di antara mereka ada yang Kami tenggelamkan, dan Allah sekali-kali tidak hendak menganiaya mereka, akan tetapi merekalah yang menganiaya diri mereka sendiri.

EN Translation For, every one of them, did We take to task for his sin: and so, upon some of them We let loose a deadly storm wind; and some of them were overtaken by a [sudden] blast; and some of them We caused to be swallowed by the earth: and some of them We caused to drown. And it was not God who wronged them, but it was they who had wronged themselves.

مَثَلُ الَّذِيْنَ اتَّخَذُوْا مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ كَمَثَلِ الْعَنْكَبُوْتِۚ اِتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًاۗ وَاِنَّ اَوْهَنَ الْبُيُوْتِ لَبَيْتُ الْعَنْكَبُوْتِۘ لَوْ كَانُوْا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٤١

ID Translation Perumpamaan orang-orang yang mengambil pelindung-pelindung selain Allah adalah seperti laba-laba yang membuat rumah. Dan sesungguhnya rumah yang paling lemah adalah rumah laba-laba kalau mereka mengetahui.

EN Translation The parable of those who take [beings or forces] other than God for their protectors is that of the spider which makes for itself a house: for, behold, the frailest of all houses is the spiders house. Could they but understand this!

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ مِنْ شَيْءٍۗ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ ٤٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui apa saja yang mereka seru selain Allah. Dan Dia Maha Perkasa lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation Verily, God knows whatever it is that men invoke instead of Him for He alone is almighty, truly wise.

وَتِلْكَ الْاَمْثَالُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِۚ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَآ اِلَّا الْعَالِمُوْنَ ٤٣

ID Translation Dan perumpamaan-perumpamaan ini Kami buat untuk manusia; dan tiada yang memahaminya kecuali orang-orang yang berilmu.

EN Translation And so We propound these parables unto man: but none can grasp their innermost meaning save those who [of Us] are aware

خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّۗ اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ۔ ٤٤

ID Translation Allah menciptakan langit dan bumi dengan hak. Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu terdapat tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah bagi orang-orang mukmin.

EN Translation [and hence are certain that] God has created the heavens and the earth in accordance with [an inner] truth: for, behold, in this [very creation] there is a message indeed for all who believe [in Him].

اُتْلُ مَآ اُوْحِيَ اِلَيْكَ مِنَ الْكِتٰبِ وَاَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَۗ اِنَّ الصَّلٰوةَ تَنْهٰى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاۤءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ ۗوَلَذِكْرُ اللّٰهِ اَكْبَرُ ۗوَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُوْنَ ٤٥

ID Translation Bacalah apa yang telah diwahyukan kepadamu, yaitu Al Kitab (Al Quran) dan dirikanlah shalat. Sesungguhnya shalat itu mencegah dari (perbuatan-perbuatan) keji dan mungkar. Dan sesungguhnya mengingat Allah (shalat) adalah lebih besar (keutamaannya dari ibadat-ibadat yang lain). Dan Allah mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation CONVEY [unto others] whatever of this divine writ has been revealed unto thee, and be constant in prayer: for, behold, prayer restrains [man] from loathsome deeds and from all that runs counter to reason; and remembrance of God is indeed the greatest [good]. And God knows all that you do.
