Juz 12

۞ وَمَا مِنْ دَاۤبَّةٍ فِى الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا عَلَى اللّٰهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۗ كُلٌّ فِيْ كِتٰبٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٦

ID Translation Dan tidak ada suatu binatang melata pun di bumi melainkan Allah-lah yang memberi rezekinya, dan Dia mengetahui tempat berdiam binatang itu dan tempat penyimpanannya. Semuanya tertulis dalam Kitab yang nyata (Lauh mahfuzh).

EN Translation And there is no living creature on earth but depends for its sustenance on God; and He knows its time-limit [on earth] and its resting-place [after death]: all [this] is laid down in [His] clear decree.

وَهُوَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ فِيْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ وَّكَانَ عَرْشُهٗ عَلَى الْمَاۤءِ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ اَيُّكُمْ اَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۗوَلَىِٕنْ قُلْتَ اِنَّكُمْ مَّبْعُوْثُوْنَ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ الْمَوْتِ لَيَقُوْلَنَّ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْٓا اِنْ هٰذَٓا اِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ٧

ID Translation Dan Dialah yang menciptakan langit dan bumi dalam enam masa, dan adalah singgasana-Nya (sebelum itu) di atas air, agar Dia menguji siapakah di antara kamu yang lebih baik amalnya, dan jika kamu berkata (kepada penduduk Mekah): "Sesungguhnya kamu akan dibangkitkan sesudah mati", niscaya orang-orang yang kafir itu akan berkata: "Ini tidak lain hanyalah sihir yang nyata".

EN Translation And He it is who has created the heavens and the earth in six aeons; and [ever since He has willed to create life,] the throne of His almightiness has rested upon water. [God reminds you of your dependence on Him] in order to test you [and thus to make manifest] which of you is best in conduct. For thus it is: if thou sayest [unto men], "Behold, you shall be raised again after death!" - they who are bent on denying the truth are sure to answer, "This is clearly nothing but an enchanting delusion"

وَلَىِٕنْ اَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابَ اِلٰٓى اُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُوْدَةٍ لَّيَقُوْلُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهٗ ۗ اَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيْهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوْفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَّا كَانُوْا بِهٖ يَسْتَهْزِءُوْنَ ٨

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya jika Kami undurkan azab dari mereka sampai kepada suatu waktu yang ditentukan. niscaya mereka akan berkata: "Apakah yang menghalanginya?" lngatlah, diwaktu azab itu datang kepada mereka tidaklah dapat dipalingkan dari mereka dan mereka diliputi oleh azab yang dahulunya mereka selalu memperolok-olokkannya.

EN Translation And thus it is: if We defer their suffering until a time-limit set [by Us], they are sure to say, "What is preventing it [from coming now]?" Oh, verily, on the Day when it befalls them there will be nothing to avert it from them; and they shall be overwhelmed by the very thing which they were wont to deride.

وَلَىِٕنْ اَذَقْنَا الْاِنْسَانَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعْنٰهَا مِنْهُۚ اِنَّهٗ لَيَـُٔوْسٌ كَفُوْرٌ ٩

ID Translation Dan jika Kami rasakan kepada manusia suatu rahmat (nikmat) dari Kami, kemudian rahmat itu Kami cabut daripadanya, pastilah dia menjadi putus asa lagi tidak berterima kasih.

EN Translation And thus it is: if We let man taste some of Our grace, and then take it away from him -behold, he abandons all hope, forgetting all gratitude [for Our past favours].

وَلَىِٕنْ اَذَقْنٰهُ نَعْمَاۤءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّاۤءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُوْلَنَّ ذَهَبَ السَّيِّاٰتُ عَنِّيْ ۗاِنَّهٗ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُوْرٌۙ ١٠

ID Translation Dan jika Kami rasakan kepadanya kebahagiaan sesudah bencana yang menimpanya, niscaya dia akan berkata: "Telah hilang bencana-bencana itu daripadaku"; sesungguhnya dia sangat gembira lagi bangga,

EN Translation And thus it is: if We let him taste ease and plenty after hardship has visited him, he is sure to say, "Gone is all affliction from me!"-for, behold, he is given to vain exultation, and glories only in himself.

اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ صَبَرُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَّاَجْرٌ كَبِيْرٌ ١١

ID Translation kecuali orang-orang yang sabar (terhadap bencana), dan mengerjakan amal-amal saleh; mereka itu beroleh ampunan dan pahala yang besar.

EN Translation [And thus it is with most men-] save those who are patient in adversity and do righteous deeds: it is they whom forgiveness of sins awaits, and a great reward.

فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعْضَ مَا يُوْحٰىٓ اِلَيْكَ وَضَاۤىِٕقٌۢ بِهٖ صَدْرُكَ اَنْ يَّقُوْلُوْا لَوْلَآ اُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنْزٌ اَوْ جَاۤءَ مَعَهٗ مَلَكٌ ۗاِنَّمَآ اَنْتَ نَذِيْرٌ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَّكِيْلٌ ۗ ١٢

ID Translation Maka boleh jadi kamu hendak meninggalkan sebahagian dari apa yang diwahyukan kepadamu dan sempit karenanya dadamu, karena khawatir bahwa mereka akan mengatakan: "Mengapa tidak diturunkan kepadanya perbendaharaan (kekayaan) atau datang bersama-sama dengan dia seorang malaikat?" Sesungguhnya kamu hanyalah seorang pemberi peringatan dan Allah Pemelihara segala sesuatu.

EN Translation IS IT, then, conceivable [O Prophet] that thou couldst omit any part of what is being revealed unto thee [because the deniers of the truth dislike it,-and] because thy heart is distressed at their saying, "Why has not a treasure been bestowed upon him from on high?" -or, "[Why has not] an angel come [visibly:: with him?" [They fail to understand that] thou art only a warner, whereas God has everything in His care;

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُ ۗقُلْ فَأْتُوْا بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثْلِهٖ مُفْتَرَيٰتٍ وَّادْعُوْا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِيْنَ ١٣

ID Translation Bahkan mereka mengatakan: "Muhammad telah membuat-buat Al Quran itu", Katakanlah: "(Kalau demikian), maka datangkanlah sepuluh surat-surat yang dibuat-buat yang menyamainya, dan panggillah orang-orang yang kamu sanggup (memanggilnya) selain Allah, jika kamu memang orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation and so they assert, "[Muhammad himself] has invented this [Qur'an)!" Say [unto them]: "Produce, then, ten surahs of similar merit, invented [by yourselves], and [to this end] call to your aid whomever you can, other than, God, if what you say is true!

فَاِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيْبُوْا لَكُمْ فَاعْلَمُوْٓا اَنَّمَآ اُنْزِلَ بِعِلْمِ اللّٰهِ وَاَنْ لَّآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ ۚفَهَلْ اَنْتُمْ مُّسْلِمُوْنَ ١٤

ID Translation Jika mereka yang kamu seru itu tidak menerima seruanmu (ajakanmu) itu maka ketahuilah, sesungguhnya Al Quran itu diturunkan dengan ilmu Allah, dan bahwasanya tidak ada Tuhan selain Dia, maka maukah kamu berserah diri (kepada Allah)?

EN Translation And if they [whom you have called to your aid] are not able to help you, then know that [this Qur'an] has been bestowed from on high out of God's wisdom alone, and that there is no deity save Him. Will you, then, surrender yourselves unto Him?"

مَنْ كَانَ يُرِيْدُ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَا وَزِيْنَتَهَا نُوَفِّ اِلَيْهِمْ اَعْمَالَهُمْ فِيْهَا وَهُمْ فِيْهَا لَا يُبْخَسُوْنَ ١٥

ID Translation Barangsiapa yang menghendaki kehidupan dunia dan perhiasannya, niscaya Kami berikan kepada mereka balasan pekerjaan mereka di dunia dengan sempurna dan mereka di dunia itu tidak akan dirugikan.

EN Translation AS FOR THOSE who care for [no more than] the life of this world and its bounties -We shall repay them in full for all that they did in this [life], and they, shall not be deprived of their just due therein:

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ اِلَّا النَّارُ ۖوَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوْا فِيْهَا وَبٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٦

ID Translation Itulah orang-orang yang tidak memperoleh di akhirat, kecuali neraka dan lenyaplah di akhirat itu apa yang telah mereka usahakan di dunia dan sia-sialah apa yang telah mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation [yet] it is they who, in the life to come, shall have nothing but the fire -for in vain shall be all that they wrought in this [world], and worthless all that they ever did!

اَفَمَنْ كَانَ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّهٖ وَيَتْلُوْهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِنْ قَبْلِهٖ كِتٰبُ مُوْسٰىٓ اِمَامًا وَّرَحْمَةًۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِهٖ ۗوَمَنْ يَّكْفُرْ بِهٖ مِنَ الْاَحْزَابِ فَالنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهٗ فَلَا تَكُ فِيْ مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ اِنَّهُ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Apakah (orang-orang kafir itu sama dengan) orang-orang yang ada mempunyai bukti yang nyata (Al Quran) dari Tuhannya, dan diikuti pula oleh seorang saksi (Muhammad) dari Allah dan sebelum Al Quran itu telah ada Kitab Musa yang menjadi pedoman dan rahmat? Mereka itu beriman kepada Al Quran. Dan barangsiapa di antara mereka (orang-orang Quraisy) dan sekutu-sekutunya yang kafir kepada Al Quran, maka nerakalah tempat yang diancamkan baginya, karena itu janganlah kamu ragu-ragu terhadap Al Quran itu. Sesungguhnya (Al Quran) itu benar-benar dari Tuhanmu, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak beriman.

EN Translation Can, then, [he who cares for no more than the life of this world be compared with] one who takes his stand on a clear evidence from his Sustainer, conveyed through [this] testimony from Him, as was the revelation vouchsafed to Moses aforetime-[a divine writ ordained by Him] to be a guidance and grace [unto man]? They [who understand this message-it is they alone who truly] believe in it; whereas for any of those who, leagued together [in common hostility], deny its truth - the fire shall be their appointed state [in the life to come]. And so, be not in doubt about this [revelation]: behold, it is the truth from thy Sustainer, even though most people will not believe in it.

وَمَنْ اَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرٰى عَلَى اللّٰهِ كَذِبًاۗ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ يُعْرَضُوْنَ عَلٰى رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُوْلُ الْاَشْهَادُ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ الَّذِيْنَ كَذَبُوْا عَلٰى رَبِّهِمْۚ اَلَا لَعْنَةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَى الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ۙ ١٨

ID Translation Dan siapakah yang lebih zalim daripada orang yang membuat-buat dusta terhadap Allah? Mereka itu akan dihadapkan kepada Tuhan mereka, dan para saksi akan berkata: "Orang-orang inilah yang telah berdusta terhadap Tuhan mereka". Ingatlah, kutukan Allah (ditimpakan) atas orang-orang yang zalim,

EN Translation And who could be more wicked than they who attribute their own lying inventions to God? [On the Day of Judgment, such as] these shall be arraigned before their Sustainer, and those who are called upon to bear witness [against them] shall say, "It is they who uttered lies about their Sustainer!" Oh, verily, God's rejection is the due of all evildoers

الَّذِيْنَ يَصُدُّوْنَ عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ وَيَبْغُوْنَهَا عِوَجًاۗ وَهُمْ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ كفِٰرُوْنَ ١٩

ID Translation (yaitu) orang-orang yang menghalangi (manusia) dari jalan Allah dan menghendaki (supaya) jalan itu bengkok. Dan mereka itulah orang-orang yang tidak percaya akan adanya hari akhirat.

EN Translation who turn others away from the path of God and try to make it appear crooked -since it is they, they who refuse to acknowledge the truth of the life to come!

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ لَمْ يَكُوْنُوْا مُعْجِزِيْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ ۘ يُضٰعَفُ لَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ ۗمَا كَانُوْا يَسْتَطِيْعُوْنَ السَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوْا يُبْصِرُوْنَ ٢٠

ID Translation Orang-orang itu tidak mampu menghalang-halangi Allah untuk (mengazab mereka) di bumi ini, dan sekali-kali tidak adalah bagi mereka penolong selain Allah. Siksaan itu dilipat gandakan kepada mereka. Mereka selalu tidak dapat mendengar (kebenaran) dan mereka selalu tidak dapat melihat(nya).

EN Translation Never can they elude [their final reckoning, even if they remain unscathed] on earth: never will they find anyone who could protect them from God. [In the life to come] double suffering will be imposed on them for having lost the ability to hear [the truth] and having failed to see [it].

اُولٰۤىِٕكَ الَّذِيْنَ خَسِرُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَّا كَانُوْا يَفْتَرُوْنَ ٢١

ID Translation Mereka itulah orang-orang yang merugikan dirinya sendiri, dan lenyaplah dari mereka apa yang selalu mereka ada-adakan.

EN Translation It is they who have squandered their own selves-for [on the Day of Resurrection] all their false imagery will have forsaken them:

لَاجَرَمَ اَنَّهُمْ فِى الْاٰخِرَةِ هُمُ الْاَخْسَرُوْنَ ٢٢

ID Translation Pasti mereka itu di akhirat menjadi orang-orang yang paling merugi.

EN Translation truly it is they, they who in the life to come shall be the losers!

اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَاَخْبَتُوْٓا اِلٰى رَبِّهِمْۙ اُولٰۤىِٕكَ اَصْحٰبُ الْجَنَّةِۚ هُمْ فِيْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ ٢٣

ID Translation Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang beriman dan mengerjakan amal-amal saleh dan merendahkan diri kepada Tuhan mereka, mereka itu adalah penghuni-penghuni surga; mereka kekal di dalamnya.

EN Translation Behold, [only] those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds and humble themselves before their Sustainer - [only] they are destined for paradise, and there shall they abide.

۞ مَثَلُ الْفَرِيْقَيْنِ كَالْاَعْمٰى وَالْاَصَمِّ وَالْبَصِيْرِ وَالسَّمِيْعِۗ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيٰنِ مَثَلًا ۗ اَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٢٤

ID Translation Perbandingan kedua golongan itu (orang-orang kafir dan orang-orang mukmin), seperti orang buta dan tuli dengan orang yang dapat melihat dan dapat mendengar. Adakah kedua golongan itu sama keadaan dan sifatnya? Maka tidakkah kamu mengambil pelajaran (daripada perbandingan itu)?

EN Translation These two kinds of man may be likened to the blind and deaf and the seeing and hearing. Can these two be deemed alike in [their] nature? ` Will you not, then, keep this in mind?

وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا نُوْحًا اِلٰى قَوْمِهٖٓ اِنِّيْ لَكُمْ نَذِيْرٌ مُّبِيْنٌ ۙ ٢٥

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah mengutus Nuh kepada kaumnya, (dia berkata): "Sesungguhnya aku adalah pemberi peringatan yang nyata bagi kamu,

EN Translation AND INDEED, [it was with the same message that] We sent forth Noah unto his people: "Behold, I come unto you with the plain warning

اَنْ لَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّا اللّٰهَ ۖاِنِّيْٓ اَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ اَلِيْمٍ ٢٦

ID Translation agar kamu tidak menyembah selain Allah. Sesungguhnya aku takut kamu akan ditimpa azab (pada) hari yang sangat menyedihkan".

EN Translation that you may worship none but God-for, verily, I fear lest suffering befall you on a grievous Day!"

فَقَالَ الْمَلَاُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا مِنْ قَوْمِهٖ مَا نَرٰىكَ اِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرٰىكَ اتَّبَعَكَ اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ هُمْ اَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ الرَّأْيِۚ وَمَا نَرٰى لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍۢ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كٰذِبِيْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Maka berkatalah pemimpin-pemimpin yang kafir dari kaumnya: "Kami tidak melihat kamu, melainkan (sebagai) seorang manusia (biasa) seperti kami, dan kami tidak melihat orang-orang yang mengikuti kamu, melainkan orang-orang yang hina dina di antara kami yang lekas percaya saja, dan kami tidak melihat kamu memiliki sesuatu kelebihan apapun atas kami, bahkan kami yakin bahwa kamu adalah orang-orang yang dusta".

EN Translation But the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth, answered: "We do not see in thee anything but a mortal man like ourselves; and we do not see that any follow thee save those who are quite obviously the most abject among us; and we do not see that you could be in any way superior to us: on the contrary, we think that you are liars!"

قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّيْ وَاٰتٰىنِيْ رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِنْدِهٖ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْۗ اَنُلْزِمُكُمُوْهَا وَاَنْتُمْ لَهَا كٰرِهُوْنَ ٢٨

ID Translation Berkata Nuh: "Hai kaumku, bagaimana pikiranmu, jika aku ada mempunyai bukti yang nyata dari Tuhanku, dan diberinya aku rahmat dari sisi-Nya, tetapi rahmat itu disamarkan bagimu. Apa akan kami paksakankah kamu menerimanya, padahal kamu tiada menyukainya?"

EN Translation Said [Noah]: "O my people! What do you think? If [it be true that I am taking my stand on a clear evidence from my~ Sustainer, who has vouchsafed unto me grace from Himself - [a revelation] to which you have remained blind-: [if this be true,] can we force it on you even though it be hateful to you?

وَيٰقَوْمِ لَآ اَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًاۗ اِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلَى اللّٰهِ وَمَآ اَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْاۗ اِنَّهُمْ مُّلٰقُوْا رَبِّهِمْ وَلٰكِنِّيْٓ اَرٰىكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُوْنَ ٢٩

ID Translation Dan (dia berkata): "Hai kaumku, aku tiada meminta harta benda kepada kamu (sebagai upah) bagi seruanku. Upahku hanyalah dari Allah dan aku sekali-kali tidak akan mengusir orang-orang yang telah beriman. Sesungguhnya mereka akan bertemu dengan Tuhannya, akan tetapi aku memandangmu suatu kaum yang tidak mengetahui".

EN Translation "And, O my people, no benefit do I ask of you for this [message]: my reward rests with none but God. And I shall not repulse [any of] those who have attained to faith. Verily, they [know that they] are destined to meet their Sustainer, whereas in you I see people without any awareness [of right and wrong]!

وَيٰقَوْمِ مَنْ يَّنْصُرُنِيْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ اِنْ طَرَدْتُّهُمْ ۗ اَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُوْنَ ٣٠

ID Translation Dan (dia berkata): "Hai kaumku, siapakah yang akan menolongku dari (azab) Allah jika aku mengusir mereka. Maka tidakkah kamu mengambil pelajaran?

EN Translation And, O my people, who would shield me from God were I to repulse them? Will you not, then, keep this in mind?

وَلَآ اَقُوْلُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِيْ خَزَاۤىِٕنُ اللّٰهِ وَلَآ اَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ وَلَآ اَقُوْلُ اِنِّيْ مَلَكٌ وَّلَآ اَقُوْلُ لِلَّذِيْنَ تَزْدَرِيْٓ اَعْيُنُكُمْ لَنْ يُّؤْتِيَهُمُ اللّٰهُ خَيْرًا ۗ اَللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِيْٓ اَنْفُسِهِمْ ۚاِنِّيْٓ اِذًا لَّمِنَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٣١

ID Translation Dan aku tidak mengatakan kepada kamu (bahwa): "Aku mempunyai gudang-gudang rezeki dan kekayaan dari Allah, dan aku tiada mengetahui yang ghaib", dan tidak (pula) aku mengatakan: "Bahwa sesungguhnya aku adalah malaikat", dan tidak juga aku mengatakan kepada orang-orang yang dipandang hina oleh penglihatanmu: "Sekali-kali Allah tidak akan mendatangkan kebaikan kepada mereka". Allah lebih mengetahui apa yang ada pada diri mereka; sesungguhnya aku, kalau begitu benar-benar termasuk orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation "And I do not say unto you, `God's treasures are with me'; nor [do I say], `I know the reality which is beyond the reach of human perception'; nor do I say, 'Behold, I am an angel'; nor do I say of those whom your eyes hold in contempt, `Never will God grant them any good'- for God is fully aware of what is in their hearts. [Were I to speak thus,] verily, I would indeed be among the evildoers."

قَالُوْا يٰنُوْحُ قَدْ جَادَلْتَنَا فَاَ كْثَرْتَ جِدَالَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ اِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٣٢

ID Translation Mereka berkata "Hai Nuh, sesungguhnya kamu telah berbantah dengan kami, dan kamu telah memperpanjang bantahanmu terhadap kami, maka datangkanlah kepada kami azab yang kamu ancamkan kepada kami, jika kamu termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation [But the great ones] said: "O Noah! Thou hast contended with us in argument, and hast [needlessly] prolonged our controversy: bring upon us, therefore, that with which thou dost threaten us, if thou art a man of truth!"

قَالَ اِنَّمَا يَأْتِيْكُمْ بِهِ اللّٰهُ اِنْ شَاۤءَ وَمَآ اَنْتُمْ بِمُعْجِزِيْنَ ٣٣

ID Translation Nuh menjawab: "Hanyalah Allah yang akan mendatangkan azab itu kepadamu jika Dia menghendaki, dan kamu sekali-kali tidak dapat melepaskan diri.

EN Translation He answered: "Only God can bring it upon you, if He so wills, and you shall not elude it:

وَلَا يَنْفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِيْٓ اِنْ اَرَدْتُّ اَنْ اَنْصَحَ لَكُمْ اِنْ كَانَ اللّٰهُ يُرِيْدُ اَنْ يُّغْوِيَكُمْ ۗهُوَ رَبُّكُمْ ۗوَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَۗ ٣٤

ID Translation Dan tidaklah bermanfaat kepadamu nasehatku jika aku hendak memberi nasehat kepada kamu, sekiranya Allah hendak menyesatkan kamu, Dia adalah Tuhanmu, dan kepada-Nya-lah kamu dikembalikan".

EN Translation for, my advice will not benefit you -much as I desire to give you good advice - if it be God's will that you shall remain lost in grievous error. He is your Sustainer, and unto Him you must return."

اَمْ يَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُۗ قُلْ اِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهٗ فَعَلَيَّ اِجْرَامِيْ وَاَنَا۠ بَرِيْۤءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُوْنَ ٣٥

ID Translation Malahan kaum Nuh itu berkata: "Dia cuma membuat-buat nasihatnya saja". Katakanlah: "Jika aku membuat-buat nasihat itu, maka hanya akulah yang memikul dosaku, dan aku berlepas diri dari dosa yang kamu perbuat".

EN Translation DO SOME, perchance, assert, "[Muhammad] has invented this [story]"? Say [O Prophet]: "If I have invented it, upon me be this sin; but far be it from me to commit the sin of which you are guilty."

وَاُوْحِيَ اِلٰى نُوْحٍ اَنَّهٗ لَنْ يُّؤْمِنَ مِنْ قَوْمِكَ اِلَّا مَنْ قَدْ اٰمَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَىِٕسْ بِمَا كَانُوْا يَفْعَلُوْنَۖ ٣٦

ID Translation Dan diwahyukan kepada Nuh, bahwasanya sekali-kali tidak akan beriman di antara kaummu, kecuali orang yang telah beriman (saja), karena itu janganlah kamu bersedih hati tentang apa yang selalu mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation AND THIS was revealed unto Noah: "Never will any of thy people believe except those who have already attained to faith. Be not, then, distressed by anything that they may do,

وَاصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِاَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِيْ فِى الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا ۚاِنَّهُمْ مُّغْرَقُوْنَ ٣٧

ID Translation Dan buatlah bahtera itu dengan pengawasan dan petunjuk wahyu Kami, dan janganlah kamu bicarakan dengan Aku tentang orang-orang yang zalim itu; sesungguhnya mereka itu akan ditenggelamkan.

EN Translation but build, under Our eyes and according to Our inspiration, the ark [that shall save thee and those who follow thee]; and do not appeal to Me in behalf of those who are bent on evildoing for, behold, they are destined to be drowned!"

وَيَصْنَعُ الْفُلْكَۗ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَاٌ مِّنْ قَوْمِهٖ سَخِرُوْا مِنْهُ ۗقَالَ اِنْ تَسْخَرُوْا مِنَّا فَاِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنْكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُوْنَۗ ٣٨

ID Translation Dan mulailah Nuh membuat bahtera. Dan setiap kali pemimpin kaumnya berjalan meliwati Nuh, mereka mengejeknya. Berkatalah Nuh: "Jika kamu mengejek kami, maka sesungguhnya kami (pun) mengejekmu sebagaimana kamu sekalian mengejek (kami).

EN Translation And [so Noah] set himself to building the ark; and every time the great ones of his people passed by him, they scoffed at him. [Thereupon] he said: "If you are scoffing at us-behold, we are scoffing at you [and your ignorance], just as you are scoffing at us.

فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَۙ مَنْ يَّأْتِيْهِ عَذَابٌ يُّخْزِيْهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيْمٌ ٣٩

ID Translation Kelak kamu akan mengetahui siapa yang akan ditimpa oleh azab yang menghinakannya dan yang akan ditimpa azab yang kekal".

EN Translation But in time you will come to know who it is that [in this world] shall be visited by suffering which will cover him with ignominy, and upon whom long lasting suffering shall alight [in the life to come]!"

حَتّٰىٓ اِذَا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّوْرُۙ قُلْنَا احْمِلْ فِيْهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَاَهْلَكَ اِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ اٰمَنَ ۗوَمَآ اٰمَنَ مَعَهٗٓ اِلَّا قَلِيْلٌ ٤٠

ID Translation Hingga apabila perintah Kami datang dan dapur telah memancarkan air, Kami berfirman: "Muatkanlah ke dalam bahtera itu dari masing-masing binatang sepasang (jantan dan betina), dan keluargamu kecuali orang yang telah terdahulu ketetapan terhadapnya dan (muatkan pula) orang-orang yang beriman". Dan tidak beriman bersama dengan Nuh itu kecuali sedikit.

EN Translation [And so it went on] till, when Our judgment came to pass, and waters gushed forth in torrents over the face of the earth, We said [unto Noah]: "Place on board of this [ark] one pair of each [kind of animal] of either sex, as well as thy family -except those on whom [Our] sentence has already been passed -and all [others] who have attained to faith!"-for, only a few [of Noah's people] shared his faith.

۞ وَقَالَ ارْكَبُوْا فِيْهَا بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ مَجْرٰ۪ىهَا وَمُرْسٰىهَا ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ لَغَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ ٤١

ID Translation Dan Nuh berkata: "Naiklah kamu sekalian ke dalamnya dengan menyebut nama Allah di waktu berlayar dan berlabuhnya". Sesungguhnya Tuhanku benar-benar Maha Pengampun lagi Maha Penyayang.

EN Translation So he said [unto his followers]: "Embark in this [ship]! In the name of God be its run and its riding at anchor! Behold, my. Sustainer is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace!"

وَهِيَ تَجْرِيْ بِهِمْ فِيْ مَوْجٍ كَالْجِبَالِۗ وَنَادٰى نُوْحُ ِۨابْنَهٗ وَكَانَ فِيْ مَعْزِلٍ يّٰبُنَيَّ ارْكَبْ مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُنْ مَّعَ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ ٤٢

ID Translation Dan bahtera itu berlayar membawa mereka dalam gelombang laksana gunung. Dan Nuh memanggil anaknya, sedang anak itu berada di tempat yang jauh terpencil: "Hai anakku, naiklah (ke kapal) bersama kami dan janganlah kamu berada bersama orang-orang yang kafir".

EN Translation And it moved on with them into waves that were like mountains. At that [moment] Noah cried out to a son of his, who had kept himself aloof [from the others]: "O my dear son! Embark with us, and remain not with those who deny the truth!"

قَالَ سَاٰوِيْٓ اِلٰى جَبَلٍ يَّعْصِمُنِيْ مِنَ الْمَاۤءِ ۗقَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الْيَوْمَ مِنْ اَمْرِ اللّٰهِ اِلَّا مَنْ رَّحِمَ ۚوَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا الْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِيْنَ ٤٣

ID Translation Anaknya menjawab: "Aku akan mencari perlindungan ke gunung yang dapat memeliharaku dari air bah!" Nuh berkata: "Tidak ada yang melindungi hari ini dari azab Allah selain Allah (saja) Yang Maha Penyayang". Dan gelombang menjadi penghalang antara keduanya; maka jadilah anak itu termasuk orang-orang yang ditenggelamkan.

EN Translation [But the son] answered: "I shall betake myself to a mountain that will protect me from the waters." Said [Noah]: "Today there is no protection [for anyone] from God's judgment, save [for] those who have earned [His] mercy!" And a wave rose up between them, and [the son] was among those who were drowned.

وَقِيْلَ يٰٓاَرْضُ ابْلَعِيْ مَاۤءَكِ وَيَا سَمَاۤءُ اَقْلِعِيْ وَغِيْضَ الْمَاۤءُ وَقُضِيَ الْاَمْرُ وَاسْتَوَتْ عَلَى الْجُوْدِيِّ وَقِيْلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ ٤٤

ID Translation Dan difirmankan: "Hai bumi telanlah airmu, dan hai langit (hujan) berhentilah," dan airpun disurutkan, perintahpun diselesaikan dan bahtera itupun berlabuh di atas bukit Judi, dan dikatakan: "Binasalah orang-orang yang zalim".

EN Translation And the word was spoken: "O earth, swallow up thy waters! And, O sky, cease [thy rain]!" And the waters sank into the earth, and the will [of God] was done, and the ark came to rest on Mount Judl And the word was spoken: "Away with these evildoing folk!"

وَنَادٰى نُوْحٌ رَّبَّهٗ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ ابْنِيْ مِنْ اَهْلِيْۚ وَاِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ وَاَنْتَ اَحْكَمُ الْحٰكِمِيْنَ ٤٥

ID Translation Dan Nuh berseru kepada Tuhannya sambil berkata: "Ya Tuhanku, sesungguhnya anakku termasuk keluargaku, dan sesungguhnya janji Engkau itulah yang benar. Dan Engkau adalah Hakim yang seadil-adilnya".

EN Translation And Noah called out to his Sustainer, and said: "O my Sustainer! Verily, my son was of my family; and, verily, Thy promise always comes true, and Thou art the most just of all judges!"

قَالَ يٰنُوْحُ اِنَّهٗ لَيْسَ مِنْ اَهْلِكَ ۚاِنَّهٗ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ ۗاِنِّيْٓ اَعِظُكَ اَنْ تَكُوْنَ مِنَ الْجٰهِلِيْنَ ٤٦

ID Translation Allah berfirman: "Hai Nuh, sesungguhnya dia bukanlah termasuk keluargamu (yang dijanjikan akan diselamatkan), sesungguhnya (perbuatan)nya perbuatan yang tidak baik. Sebab itu janganlah kamu memohon kepada-Ku sesuatu yang kamu tidak mengetahui (hakekat)nya. Sesungguhnya Aku memperingatkan kepadamu supaya kamu jangan termasuk orang-orang yang tidak berpengetahuan".

EN Translation [God] answered: "O Noah, behold, he was not of thy family, for, verily, he was unrighteous in his conduct. And thou shalt not ask of Me anything whereof thou canst not have any knowledge: thus, behold, do I admonish thee lest thou become one of those who are unaware [of what is right]."

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّيْٓ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَنْ اَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِيْ بِهٖ عِلْمٌ ۗوَاِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِيْ وَتَرْحَمْنِيْٓ اَكُنْ مِّنَ الْخٰسِرِيْنَ ٤٧

ID Translation Nuh berkata: Ya Tuhanku, sesungguhnya aku berlindung kepada Engkau dari memohon kepada Engkau sesuatu yang aku tiada mengetahui (hakekat)nya. Dan sekiranya Engkau tidak memberi ampun kepadaku, dan (tidak) menaruh belas kasihan kepadaku, niscaya aku akan termasuk orang-orang yang merugi".

EN Translation Said [Noah]: "O my Sustainer! Verily, I seek refuge with Thee from [ever again] asking of Thee anything whereof I cannot have any knowledge! For unless Thou grant me forgiveness and bestow Thy mercy upon me, I shall be among the lost!"

قِيْلَ يٰنُوْحُ اهْبِطْ بِسَلٰمٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكٰتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰٓى اُمَمٍ مِّمَّنْ مَّعَكَ ۗوَاُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُمْ مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ٤٨

ID Translation Difirmankan: "Hai Nuh, turunlah dengan selamat sejahtera dan penuh keberkatan dari Kami atasmu dan atas umat-umat (yang mukmin) dari orang-orang yang bersamamu. Dan ada (pula) umat-umat yang Kami beri kesenangan pada mereka (dalam kehidupan dunia), kemudian mereka akan ditimpa azab yang pedih dari Kami".

EN Translation [Thereupon] the word was spoken: "O Noah! Disembark in peace from Us, and with [Our] blessings upon thee as well as upon the people [who are with thee, and the righteous ones that will spring from thee and] from those who are with thee. But [as for the unrighteous] folk [that will spring from you] - We shall allow them to enjoy life [for a little while], and then there will befall them grievous suffering from Us."

تِلْكَ مِنْ اَنْۢبَاۤءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوْحِيْهَآ اِلَيْكَ ۚمَا كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُهَآ اَنْتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِنْ قَبْلِ هٰذَاۚ فَاصْبِرْۚ اِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ ٤٩

ID Translation Itu adalah di antara berita-berita penting tentang yang ghaib yang Kami wahyukan kepadamu (Muhammad); tidak pernah kamu mengetahuinya dan tidak (pula) kaummu sebelum ini. Maka bersabarlah; sesungguhnya kesudahan yang baik adalah bagi orang-orang yang bertakwa.

EN Translation THESE ACCOUNTS of something that was beyond the reach of thy perception We [now] reveal unto thee, [O Muhammad: for] neither thou nor thy people knew them [fully] ere this. Be, then, [like Noah,] patient in adversity - for, behold, the future belongs to the God-conscious!

وَاِلٰى عَادٍ اَخَاهُمْ هُوْدًا ۗقَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗ ۗاِنْ اَنْتُمْ اِلَّا مُفْتَرُوْنَ ٥٠

ID Translation Dan kepada kaum 'Ad (Kami utus) saudara mereka, Huud. Ia berkata: "Hai kaumku, sembahlah Allah, sekali-kali tidak ada bagimu Tuhan selain Dia. Kamu hanyalah mengada-adakan saja.

EN Translation AND UNTO [the tribe of] `Ad [We sent] their brother Hud. He said: "O my people! Worship God [alone]: you have no deity other than Him. [As it is,] you are but inventors of falsehood!

يٰقَوْمِ لَآ اَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ اَجْرًا ۗاِنْ اَجْرِيَ اِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِيْ فَطَرَنِيْ ۗ اَفَلَا تَعْقِلُوْنَ ٥١

ID Translation Hai kaumku, aku tidak meminta upah kepadamu bagi seruanku ini. Upahku tidak lain hanyalah dari Allah yang telah menciptakanku. Maka tidakkah kamu memikirkan(nya)?"

EN Translation "O my people! No reward do I ask of you for this [message]: my reward rests with none but Him who brought me into being. Will you not, then, use your reason?

وَيٰقَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوْبُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاۤءَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّدْرَارًا وَّيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً اِلٰى قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ ٥٢

ID Translation Dan (dia berkata): "Hai kaumku, mohonlah ampun kepada Tuhanmu lalu bertobatlah kepada-Nya, niscaya Dia menurunkan hujan yang sangat deras atasmu, dan Dia akan menambahkan kekuatan kepada kekuatanmu, dan janganlah kamu berpaling dengan berbuat dosa".

EN Translation "Hence, O my people, ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins, and then turn towards Him in repentance-[whereupon] He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, and will add strength to your strength: only do not turn away [from me] as people lost in sin!"

قَالُوْا يٰهُوْدُ مَاجِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَّمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِيْٓ اٰلِهَتِنَا عَنْ قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ٥٣

ID Translation Kaum 'Ad berkata: "Hai Huud, kamu tidak mendatangkan kepada kami suatu bukti yang nyata, dan kami sekali-kali tidak akan meninggalkan sembahan-sembahan kami karena perkataanmu, dan kami sekali-kali tidak akan mempercayai kamu.

EN Translation Said they: "O Hud! Thou hast brought us no clear evidence [that thou art a prophet]; and we are not going to forsake our gods on thy mere word, the more so as we do not believe thee.

اِنْ نَّقُوْلُ اِلَّا اعْتَرٰىكَ بَعْضُ اٰلِهَتِنَا بِسُوْۤءٍ ۗقَالَ اِنِّيْٓ اُشْهِدُ اللّٰهَ وَاشْهَدُوْٓا اَنِّيْ بَرِيْۤءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُوْنَ ٥٤

ID Translation Kami tidak mengatakan melainkan bahwa sebagian sembahan kami telah menimpakan penyakit gila atas dirimu". Huud menjawab: "Sesungguhnya aku bersaksi kepada Allah dan saksikanlah olehmu sekalian bahwa sesungguhnya aku berlepas diri dari apa yang kamu persekutukan,

EN Translation We can say no more than that one of our gods may have smitten thee with something evil!" Answered [Hud]: "Behold, I call God to witness - and you, too, be [my] witnesses - that, verily, it is not in me to ascribe divinity, as you do, to aught

مِنْ دُوْنِهٖ فَكِيْدُوْنِيْ جَمِيْعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنْظِرُوْنِ ٥٥

ID Translation dari selain-Nya, sebab itu jalankanlah tipu dayamu semuanya terhadapku dan janganlah kamu memberi tangguh kepadaku.

EN Translation beside Him! Contrive, then, [anything that you may wish] against me, all of you, and give me no respite!

اِنِّيْ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ رَبِّيْ وَرَبِّكُمْ ۗمَا مِنْ دَاۤبَّةٍ اِلَّا هُوَ اٰخِذٌۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ ٥٦

ID Translation Sesungguhnya aku bertawakkal kepada Allah Tuhanku dan Tuhanmu. Tidak ada suatu binatang melatapun melainkan Dialah yang memegang ubun-ubunnya. Sesungguhnya Tuhanku di atas jalan yang lurus".

EN Translation Behold, I have placed my trust in God, [who is] my Sustainer as well as your Sustainer: for there is no living creature which He does not hold by its forelock. Verily, straight is my Sustainer's way!

فَاِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقَدْ اَبْلَغْتُكُمْ مَّآ اُرْسِلْتُ بِهٖٓ اِلَيْكُمْ ۗوَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّيْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْۗ وَلَا تَضُرُّوْنَهٗ شَيْـًٔا ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيْظٌ ٥٧

ID Translation Jika kamu berpaling, maka sesungguhnya aku telah menyampaikan kepadamu apa (amanat) yang aku diutus (untuk menyampaikan)nya kepadamu. Dan Tuhanku akan mengganti (kamu) dengan kaum yang lain (dari) kamu; dan kamu tidak dapat membuat mudharat kepada-Nya sedikitpun. Sesungguhnya Tuhanku adalah Maha Pemelihara segala sesuatu.

EN Translation "But if you choose to turn away, then [know that] I have delivered to you the message with which I was sent unto you, and [that] my Sustainer may cause another people to take your place, whereas you will in no wise harm Him. Verily, my Sustainer watches over all things!"

وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُوْدًا وَّالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّاۚ وَنَجَّيْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيْظٍ ٥٨

ID Translation Dan tatkala datang azab Kami, Kami selamatkan Huud dan orang-orang yang beriman bersama dia dengan rahmat dari Kami; dan Kami selamatkan (pula) mereka (di akhirat) dari azab yang berat.

EN Translation And so, when Our judgment came to pass, by Our grace We saved Hud and those who shared his faith; and We saved them [too] from suffering severe [in the life to come].

وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ ۖجَحَدُوْا بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا رُسُلَهٗ وَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيْدٍ ٥٩

ID Translation Dan itulah (kisah) kaum 'Ad yang mengingkari tanda-tanda kekuasaan Tuhan mereka, dan mendurhakai rasul-rasul Allah dan mereka menuruti perintah semua penguasa yang sewenang-wenang lagi menentang (kebenaran).

EN Translation And that was [the end of the tribe of] `Ad, [who] had rejected their Sustainer's messages, and rebelled against His apostles, and followed the bidding of every arrogant enemy of the truth.

وَاُتْبِعُوْا فِيْ هٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَّيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوْا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ اَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُوْدٍ ٦٠

ID Translation Dan mereka selalu diikuti dengan kutukan di dunia ini dan (begitu pula) di hari kiamat. Ingatlah, sesungguhnya kaum 'Ad itu kafir kepada Tuhan mereka. Ingatlah kebinasaanlah bagi kaum 'Ad (yaitu) kaum Huud itu.

EN Translation And they were pursued in this world by [God's] rejection, and [shall finally be overtaken by it] on the Day of Resurrection. Oh, verily, [the tribe of] `Ad denied their Sustainer! Oh, away with the `Ad, the people of Hud!

۞ وَاِلٰى ثَمُوْدَ اَخَاهُمْ صٰلِحًا ۘ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗ ۗهُوَ اَنْشَاَكُمْ مِّنَ الْاَرْضِ وَاسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيْهَا فَاسْتَغْفِرُوْهُ ثُمَّ تُوْبُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ قَرِيْبٌ مُّجِيْبٌ ٦١

ID Translation Dan kepada Tsamud (Kami utus) saudara mereka Shaleh. Shaleh berkata: "Hai kaumku, sembahlah Allah, sekali-kali tidak ada bagimu Tuhan selain Dia. Dia telah menciptakan kamu dari bumi (tanah) dan menjadikan kamu pemakmurnya, karena itu mohonlah ampunan-Nya, kemudian bertobatlah kepada-Nya, Sesungguhnya Tuhanku amat dekat (rahmat-Nya) lagi memperkenankan (doa hamba-Nya)".

EN Translation AND UNTO [the tribe of] Thamud [We sent] their brother Salih. He said: "O my people! Worship God [alone]: you have no deity other than Him. He brought you into being out of the earth, and made you thrive thereon. Ask Him, therefore, to forgive you your sins, and then turn towards Him in repentance-for, verily, my Sustainer is ever-near, responding [to the call of whoever calls unto Him]!"

قَالُوْا يٰصٰلِحُ قَدْ كُنْتَ فِيْنَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هٰذَآ اَتَنْهٰىنَآ اَنْ نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ اٰبَاۤؤُنَا وَاِنَّنَا لَفِيْ شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُوْنَآ اِلَيْهِ مُرِيْبٍ ٦٢

ID Translation Kaum Tsamud berkata: "Hai Shaleh, sesungguhnya kamu sebelum ini adalah seorang di antara kami yang kami harapkan, apakah kamu melarang kami untuk menyembah apa yang disembah oleh bapak-bapak kami? dan sesungguhnya kami betul-betul dalam keraguan yang menggelisahkan terhadap agama yang kamu serukan kepada kami".

EN Translation They answered: "O Salih! Great hopes did we place in thee ere this! Wouldst thou forbid us to worship what our forefathers were wont to worship? Because [of this], behold, we are in grave doubt, amounting to suspicion, about [the meaning of] thy call to us!"

قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّيْۗ وَاٰتٰىنِيْ مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَنْ يَّنْصُرُنِيْ مِنَ اللّٰهِ اِنْ عَصَيْتُهٗ ۗفَمَا تَزِيْدُوْنَنِيْ غَيْرَ تَخْسِيْرٍ ٦٣

ID Translation Shaleh berkata: "Hai kaumku, bagaimana pikiranmu jika aku mempunyai bukti yang nyata dari Tuhanku dan diberi-Nya aku rahmat (kenabian) dari-Nya, maka siapakah yang akan menolong aku dari (azab) Allah jika aku mendurhakai-Nya. Sebab itu kamu tidak menambah apapun kepadaku selain daripada kerugian.

EN Translation He retorted: "O my people! What do you think? If [it be true that] I am taking my stand on a cleat evidence from my Sustainer, who has vouchsafed unto me grace from Himself -[if this be true,] who would shield me from God were I to rebel against Him? Hence, what you are offering me is no more than perdition!"

وَيٰقَوْمِ هٰذِهٖ نَاقَةُ اللّٰهِ لَكُمْ اٰيَةً فَذَرُوْهَا تَأْكُلْ فِيْٓ اَرْضِ اللّٰهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوْهَا بِسُوْۤءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ قَرِيْبٌ ٦٤

ID Translation Hai kaumku, inilah unta betina dari Allah, sebagai mukjizat (yang menunjukkan kebenaran) untukmu, sebab itu biarkanlah dia makan di bumi Allah, dan janganlah kamu mengganggunya dengan gangguan apapun yang akan menyebabkan kamu ditimpa azab yang dekat".

EN Translation And [then he said]: "O my people! This she-camel belonging to God shall be a token for you: so leave her alone to pasture on God's earth, and do her no harm, lest speedy chastisement befall you!"

فَعَقَرُوْهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوْا فِيْ دَارِكُمْ ثَلٰثَةَ اَيَّامٍ ۗذٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوْبٍ ٦٥

ID Translation Mereka membunuh unta itu, maka berkata Shaleh: "Bersukarialah kamu sekalian di rumahmu selama tiga hari, itu adalah janji yang tidak dapat didustakan".

EN Translation But they cruelly slaughtered her. And thereupon [Salih] said: "[Only] for three days [more] shall you enjoy life in your homes: this is a judgment which will not be belied!"

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صٰلِحًا وَّالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْيِ يَوْمِىِٕذٍ ۗاِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيْزُ ٦٦

ID Translation Maka tatkala datang azab Kami, Kami selamatkan Shaleh beserta orang-orang yang beriman bersama dia dengan rahmat dari Kami dan dari kehinaan di hari itu. Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu Dia-Lah yang Maha Kuat lagi Maha Perkasa.

EN Translation And so, when Our judgment came to pass, by Our grace We saved Salih and those who shared his faith; and [We saved them, too,] from the ignominy of [Our rejection on] that Day [of Resurrection]. Verily, thy Sustainer alone is powerful, almighty!

وَاَخَذَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَاَصْبَحُوْا فِيْ دِيَارِهِمْ جٰثِمِيْنَۙ ٦٧

ID Translation Dan satu suara keras yang mengguntur menimpa orang-orang yang zalim itu, lalu mereka mati bergelimpangan di rumahnya,

EN Translation And the blast [of God's punishment] overtook those who had been bent on evildoing: and then they lay lifeless, in their very homes, on the ground,

كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيْهَا ۗ اَلَآ اِنَّ ثَمُوْدَا۠ كَفَرُوْا رَبَّهُمْ ۗ اَلَا بُعْدًا لِّثَمُوْدَ ٦٨

ID Translation seolah-olah mereka belum pernah berdiam di tempat itu. Ingatlah, sesungguhnya kaum Tsamud mengingkari Tuhan mereka. Ingatlah, kebinasaanlah bagi kaum Tsamud.

EN Translation as though they had never lived there. Oh, verily, [the tribe of] Thamud denied their Sustainer! Oh, away with the Thamud!

وَلَقَدْ جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ بِالْبُشْرٰى قَالُوْا سَلٰمًا ۖقَالَ سَلٰمٌ فَمَا لَبِثَ اَنْ جَاۤءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيْذٍ ٦٩

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya utusan-utusan Kami (malaikat-malaikat) telah datang kepada lbrahim dengan membawa kabar gembira, mereka mengucapkan: "Selamat". Ibrahim menjawab: "Selamatlah," maka tidak lama kemudian Ibrahim menyuguhkan daging anak sapi yang dipanggang.

EN Translation AND, INDEED, there came unto Abraham Our [heavenly] messengers, bearing a glad tiding. They bade him peace; [and] he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!"-and made haste to place before them a roasted calf.

فَلَمَّا رَاٰىٓ اَيْدِيَهُمْ لَا تَصِلُ اِلَيْهِ نَكِرَهُمْ وَاَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيْفَةً ۗقَالُوْا لَا تَخَفْ اِنَّآ اُرْسِلْنَآ اِلٰى قَوْمِ لُوْطٍۗ ٧٠

ID Translation Maka tatkala dilihatnya tangan mereka tidak menjamahnya, Ibrahim memandang aneh perbuatan mereka, dan merasa takut kepada mereka. Malaikat itu berkata: "Jangan kamu takut, sesungguhnya kami adalah (malaikat-ma]aikat) yang diutus kepada kaum Luth".

EN Translation But when he saw that their hands did not reach out towards it, he deemed their conduct strange and became apprehensive of them. [But] they said: "Fear not! Behold, we are sent to the people of Lot.

وَامْرَاَتُهٗ قَاۤىِٕمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنٰهَا بِاِسْحٰقَۙ وَمِنْ وَّرَاۤءِ اِسْحٰقَ يَعْقُوْبَ ٧١

ID Translation Dan isterinya berdiri (dibalik tirai) lalu dia tersenyum, maka Kami sampaikan kepadanya berita gembira tentang (kelahiran) Ishak dan dari Ishak (akan lahir puteranya) Ya'qub.

EN Translation And his wife, standing [nearby], laughed [with happiness]; whereupon We gave her the glad tiding of [the birth of] Isaac and, after Isaac, of [his son] Jacob.

قَالَتْ يٰوَيْلَتٰىٓ ءَاَلِدُ وَاَنَا۠ عَجُوْزٌ وَّهٰذَا بَعْلِيْ شَيْخًا ۗاِنَّ هٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عَجِيْبٌ ٧٢

ID Translation Isterinya berkata: "Sungguh mengherankan, apakah aku akan melahirkan anak padahal aku adalah seorang perempuan tua, dan ini suamikupun dalam keadaan yang sudah tua pula?. Sesungguhnya ini benar-benar suatu yang sangat aneh".

EN Translation Said she: "Oh, woe is me! Shall I bear a child, now that I am an old woman and this husband of mine is an old man? Verily, that would be a strange thing indeed!"

قَالُوْٓا اَتَعْجَبِيْنَ مِنْ اَمْرِ اللّٰهِ رَحْمَتُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكٰتُهٗ عَلَيْكُمْ اَهْلَ الْبَيْتِۗ اِنَّهُ حَمِيْدٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ٧٣

ID Translation Para malaikat itu berkata: "Apakah kamu merasa heran tentang ketetapan Allah? (Itu adalah) rahmat Allah dan keberkatan-Nya, dicurahkan atas kamu, hai ahlulbait! Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Terpuji lagi Maha Pemurah".

EN Translation Answered [the messengers]: "Dost thou deem it strange that God should decree what He wills? The grace of God and His blessings be upon you, O people of this house! Verily, ever to be praised, sublime is He!"

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ الرَّوْعُ وَجَاۤءَتْهُ الْبُشْرٰى يُجَادِلُنَا فِيْ قَوْمِ لُوْطٍ ٧٤

ID Translation Maka tatkala rasa takut hilang dari Ibrahim dan berita gembira telah datang kepadanya, diapun bersoal jawab dengan (malaikat-malaikat) Kami tentang kaum Luth.

EN Translation And when the fear had left Abraham, and the glad tiding had been conveyed to him, he began to plead with Us for Lot's people:

اِنَّ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ لَحَلِيْمٌ اَوَّاهٌ مُّنِيْبٌ ٧٥

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Ibrahim itu benar-benar seorang yang penyantun lagi penghiba dan suka kembali kepada Allah.

EN Translation for, behold, Abraham was most clement, most tender-hearted, intent upon turning to God again and again.

يٰٓاِبْرٰهِيْمُ اَعْرِضْ عَنْ هٰذَا ۚاِنَّهٗ قَدْ جَاۤءَ اَمْرُ رَبِّكَۚ وَاِنَّهُمْ اٰتِيْهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُوْدٍ ٧٦

ID Translation Hai Ibrahim, tinggalkanlah soal jawab ini, sesungguhnya telah datang ketetapan Tuhanmu, dan sesungguhnya mereka itu akan didatangi azab yang tidak dapat ditolak.

EN Translation [But God's messengers replied:] "O Abraham! Desist from this [pleading]! Behold, thy Sustainer's judgment has already gone forth: and, verily, there shall fall upon them a chastisement which none can avert!"

وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوْطًا سِيْۤءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَّقَالَ هٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيْبٌ ٧٧

ID Translation Dan tatkala datang utusan-utusan Kami (para malaikat) itu kepada Luth, dia merasa susah dan merasa sempit dadanya karena kedatangan mereka, dan dia berkata: "Ini adalah hari yang amat sulit".

EN Translation AND WHEN Our messengers came unto Lot, he was sorely grieved on their account, seeing that it was beyond his power to shield them; and he exclaimed: "This is a woeful day!"

وَجَاۤءَهٗ قَوْمُهٗ يُهْرَعُوْنَ اِلَيْهِۗ وَمِنْ قَبْلُ كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ السَّيِّاٰتِۗ قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ بَنَاتِيْ هُنَّ اَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ وَلَا تُخْزُوْنِ فِيْ ضَيْفِيْۗ اَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيْدٌ ٧٨

ID Translation Dan datanglah kepadanya kaumnya dengan bergegas-gegas. Dan sejak dahulu mereka selalu melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan yang keji. Luth berkata: "Hai kaumku, inilah puteri-puteriku, mereka lebih suci bagimu, maka bertakwalah kepada Allah dan janganlah kamu mencemarkan (nama)ku terhadap tamuku ini. Tidak adakah di antaramu seorang yang berakal?"

EN Translation And his people came running to him, impelled towards his house [by their desire]: for they had ever been wont to commit [such], abominations. Said [Lot]: "O my people! [Take instead] these daughters of mine: they are purer for you [than men]! Be, then, conscious of God, and disgrace me not by [assaulting] my guests. Is there not among you even one right-minded man?"

قَالُوْا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِيْ بَنٰتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّۚ وَاِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيْدُ ٧٩

ID Translation Mereka menjawab: "Sesungguhnya kamu telah tahu bahwa kami tidak mempunyai keinginan terhadap puteri-puterimu; dan sesungguhnya kamu tentu mengetahui apa yang sebenarnya kami kehendaki".

EN Translation They answered: "Thou hast always known that we have no use whatever for thy daughters; and, verily, well dost thou know what we want!"

قَالَ لَوْ اَنَّ لِيْ بِكُمْ قُوَّةً اَوْ اٰوِيْٓ اِلٰى رُكْنٍ شَدِيْدٍ ٨٠

ID Translation Luth berkata: "Seandainya aku ada mempunyai kekuatan (untuk menolakmu) atau kalau aku dapat berlindung kepada keluarga yang kuat (tentu aku lakukan)".

EN Translation Exclaimed [Lot]: "Would that I had the strength to defeat you, or that I could lean upon some mightier support!"

قَالُوْا يٰلُوْطُ اِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَّصِلُوْٓا اِلَيْكَ فَاَسْرِ بِاَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ الَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ اَحَدٌ اِلَّا امْرَاَتَكَۗ اِنَّهٗ مُصِيْبُهَا مَآ اَصَابَهُمْ ۗاِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ ۗ اَلَيْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيْبٍ ٨١

ID Translation Para utusan (malaikat) berkata: "Hai Luth, sesungguhnya kami adalah utusan-utusan Tuhanmu, sekali-kali mereka tidak akan dapat mengganggu kamu, sebab itu pergilah dengan membawa keluarga dan pengikut-pengikut kamu di akhir malam dan janganlah ada seorangpun di antara kamu yang tertinggal, kecuali isterimu. Sesungguhnya dia akan ditimpa azab yang menimpa mereka karena sesungguhnya saat jatuhnya azab kepada mereka ialah di waktu subuh; bukankah subuh itu sudah dekat?".

EN Translation [Whereupon the angels] said: "O Lot! Behold, we are messengers from thy Sustainer! Never shall [thy enemies] attain to thee! Depart, then, with thy household while it is yet night, and let none of you look back; [and take with thee all thy family] with the exception of thy wife: for, behold, that which is to befall these [people of Sodom] shall befall her [as well]. Verily, their appointed time is the morning [and] is not the morning nigh?"

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَالِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَاَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّنْ سِجِّيْلٍ مَّنْضُوْدٍ ٨٢

ID Translation Maka tatkala datang azab Kami, Kami jadikan negeri kaum Luth itu yang di atas ke bawah (Kami balikkan), dan Kami hujani mereka dengan batu dari tanah yang terbakar dengan bertubi-tubi,

EN Translation And so, when Our judgment came to pass, We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. one upon another,

مُسَوَّمَةً عِنْدَ رَبِّكَۗ وَمَا هِيَ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِيْنَ بِبَعِيْدٍ ٨٣

ID Translation Yang diberi tanda oleh Tuhanmu, dan siksaan itu tiadalah jauh dari orang-orang yang zalim.

EN Translation marked out in thy Sustainer's sight [for the punishment of such as are lost in sin]. And these [blows of God-willed doom] are never far from evildoers

۞ وَاِلٰى مَدْيَنَ اَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۗقَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ اِلٰهٍ غَيْرُهٗ ۗوَلَا تَنْقُصُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيْزَانَ اِنِّيْٓ اَرٰىكُمْ بِخَيْرٍ وَّاِنِّيْٓ اَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيْطٍ ٨٤

ID Translation Dan kepada (penduduk) Mad-yan (Kami utus) saudara mereka, Syu'aib. Ia berkata: "Hai kaumku, sembahlah Allah, sekali-kali tiada Tuhan bagimu selain Dia. Dan janganlah kamu kurangi takaran dan timbangan, sesungguhnya aku melihat kamu dalam keadaan yang baik (mampu) dan sesungguhnya aku khawatir terhadapmu akan azab hari yang membinasakan (kiamat)".

EN Translation AND UNTO [the people of] Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said: "O my people! Worship God [alone]: you have no deity other than Him; and do not give short measure and weight [in any of your dealings with men]. Behold, I see you [now] in a happy state; but, verily, I dread lest suffering befall you on a Day that will encompass [you with doom]!

وَيٰقَوْمِ اَوْفُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيْزَانَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ اَشْيَاۤءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ مُفْسِدِيْنَ ٨٥

ID Translation Dan Syu'aib berkata: "Hai kaumku, cukupkanlah takaran dan timbangan dengan adil, dan janganlah kamu merugikan manusia terhadap hak-hak mereka dan janganlah kamu membuat kejahatan di muka bumi dengan membuat kerusakan.

EN Translation Hence, O my people, [always] give full measure and weight, with equity, and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs, and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption.

بَقِيَّتُ اللّٰهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُّؤْمِنِيْنَ ەۚ وَمَآ اَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُمْ بِحَفِيْظٍ ٨٦

ID Translation Sisa (keuntungan) dari Allah adalah lebih baik bagimu jika kamu orang-orang yang beriman. Dan aku bukanlah seorang penjaga atas dirimu"

EN Translation That which rests with God is best for you, if you but believe [in Him]! However, I am not your keeper."

قَالُوْا يٰشُعَيْبُ اَصَلٰوتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ اَنْ نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ اٰبَاۤؤُنَآ اَوْ اَنْ نَّفْعَلَ فِيْٓ اَمْوَالِنَا مَا نَشٰۤؤُا ۗاِنَّكَ لَاَنْتَ الْحَلِيْمُ الرَّشِيْدُ ٨٧

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Hai Syu'aib, apakah sembahyangmu menyuruh kamu agar kami meninggalkan apa yang disembah oleh bapak-bapak kami atau melarang kami memperbuat apa yang kami kehendaki tentang harta kami. Sesungguhnya kamu adalah orang yang sangat penyantun lagi berakal".

EN Translation Said they: "O Shu'ayb! Does thy [habit of] praying compel thee to demand of us that we give up all that our forefathers were wont to worship, or that we refrain from doing whatever we please with our possessions? Behold, [thou wouldst have us believe that] thou art indeed the only clement, the only right-minded man!"

قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اَرَءَيْتُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُ عَلٰى بَيِّنَةٍ مِّنْ رَّبِّيْ وَرَزَقَنِيْ مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا وَّمَآ اُرِيْدُ اَنْ اُخَالِفَكُمْ اِلٰى مَآ اَنْهٰىكُمْ عَنْهُ ۗاِنْ اُرِيْدُ اِلَّا الْاِصْلَاحَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُۗ وَمَا تَوْفِيْقِيْٓ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ ۗعَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَاِلَيْهِ اُنِيْبُ ٨٨

ID Translation Syu'aib berkata: "Hai kaumku, bagaimana pikiranmu jika aku mempunyai bukti yang nyata dari Tuhanku dan dianugerahi-Nya aku dari pada-Nya rezeki yang baik (patutkah aku menyalahi perintah-Nya)? Dan aku tidak berkehendak menyalahi kamu (dengan mengerjakan) apa yang aku larang. Aku tidak bermaksud kecuali (mendatangkan) perbaikan selama aku masih berkesanggupan. Dan tidak ada taufik bagiku melainkan dengan (pertolongan) Allah. Hanya kepada Allah aku bertawakkal dan hanya kepada-Nya-lah aku kembali.

EN Translation He answered: "O my people! What do you think? If [it be true that] I am taking my stand on a clear evidence from my Sustainer, who has vouchsafed me goodly sustenance [as a gift] from Himself - [how could I speak to you otherwise than I do]? And yet, I have no desire to do, out of opposition to you, what I am asking you not to do: I desire no more than to set things to rights in so far as it lies within my power; but the achievement of my aim depends on God alone. In Him have I placed my trust, and unto Him do I always turn!

وَيٰقَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِيْٓ اَنْ يُّصِيْبَكُمْ مِّثْلُ مَآ اَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوْحٍ اَوْ قَوْمَ هُوْدٍ اَوْ قَوْمَ صٰلِحٍ ۗوَمَا قَوْمُ لُوْطٍ مِّنْكُمْ بِبَعِيْدٍ ٨٩

ID Translation Hai kaumku, janganlah hendaknya pertentangan antara aku (dengan kamu) menyebabkan kamu menjadi jahat hingga kamu ditimpa azab seperti yang menimpa kaum Nuh atau kaum Hud atau kaum Shaleh, sedang kaum Luth tidak (pula) jauh (tempatnya) dari kamu.

EN Translation "And, O my people, let not [your] dissent from me drive you into sin, lest there befall you the like of what befell the people of Noah, or the people of Hud. or the people of Salih: and [remember that] the people of Lot lived not very far from you!"

وَاسْتَغْفِرُوْا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوْبُوْٓا اِلَيْهِ ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ رَحِيْمٌ وَّدُوْدٌ ٩٠

ID Translation Dan mohonlah ampun kepada Tuhanmu kemudian bertaubatlah kepada-Nya. Sesungguhnya Tuhanku Maha Penyayang lagi Maha Pengasih.

EN Translation Hence, ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins, and then turn towards Him in repentance - for, verily, my Sustainer is a dispenser of grace, a fount of love!"

قَالُوْا يٰشُعَيْبُ مَا نَفْقَهُ كَثِيْرًا مِّمَّا تَقُوْلُ وَاِنَّا لَنَرٰىكَ فِيْنَا ضَعِيْفًا ۗوَلَوْلَا رَهْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنٰكَ ۖوَمَآ اَنْتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيْزٍ ٩١

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Hai Syu'aib, kami tidak banyak mengerti tentang apa yang kamu katakan itu dan sesungguhnya kami benar-benar melihat kamu seorang yang lemah di antara kami; kalau tidaklah karena keluargamu tentulah kami telah merajam kamu, sedang kamupun bukanlah seorang yang berwibawa di sisi kami".

EN Translation [But his people] said: "O Shu'ayb! We cannot grasp the purport of much of what thou sayest; on the other hand, behold, we do see clearly how- weak thou art in our midst:" and were it not for thy family, we would have most certainly stoned thee to death, considering that thou hast no power over us!"

قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اَرَهْطِيْٓ اَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُمْ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ ۗوَاتَّخَذْتُمُوْهُ وَرَاۤءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ مُحِيْطٌ ٩٢

ID Translation Syu'aib menjawab: "Hai kaumku, apakah keluargaku lebih terhormat menurut pandanganmu daripada Allah, sedang Allah kamu jadikan sesuatu yang terbuang di belakangmu?. Sesungguhnya (pengetahuan) Tuhanku meliputi apa yang kamu kerjakan".

EN Translation Said he: "O my people! Do you hold my family in greater esteem than God? -for, Him you regard as something that may be cast behind you and be forgotten! Verily, my Sustainer encompasses [with His might] all that you do!

وَيٰقَوْمِ اعْمَلُوْا عَلٰى مَكَانَتِكُمْ اِنِّيْ عَامِلٌ ۗسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُوْنَۙ مَنْ يَّأْتِيْهِ عَذَابٌ يُّخْزِيْهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ كَاذِبٌۗ وَارْتَقِبُوْٓا اِنِّيْ مَعَكُمْ رَقِيْبٌ ٩٣

ID Translation Dan (dia berkata): "Hai kaumku, berbuatlah menurut kemampuanmu, sesungguhnya akupun berbuat (pula). Kelak kamu akan mengetahui siapa yang akan ditimpa azab yang menghinakannya dan siapa yang berdusta. Dan tunggulah azab (Tuhan), sesungguhnya akupun menunggu bersama kamu".

EN Translation Hence, O my people, do [to me] anything that may be within your power, [while] I, behold, shall labour [in God's way]; in time you will come to know which [of us] shall be visited by suffering that will cover him with ignominy, and which [of us] is a liar. Watch, then, [for what is coming:] behold, I shall watch with you!"

وَلَمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًا وَّالَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا مَعَهٗ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّاۚ وَاَخَذَتِ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّيْحَةُ فَاَصْبَحُوْا فِيْ دِيَارِهِمْ جٰثِمِيْنَۙ ٩٤

ID Translation Dan tatkala datang azab Kami, Kami selamatkan Syu'aib dan orang-orang yang beriman bersama-sama dengan dia dengan rahmat dari Kami, dan orang-orang yang zalim dibinasakan oleh satu suara yang mengguntur, lalu jadilah mereka mati bergelimpangan di rumahnya.

EN Translation And so, when Our judgment came to pass, by Our grace We saved Shu'ayb and those who shared his faith, whereas the blast [of Our punishment] overtook those who had been bent on evildoing: and then they lay lifeless, in their very homes, on the ground,

كَاَنْ لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيْهَا ۗ اَلَا بُعْدًا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُوْدُ ٩٥

ID Translation Seolah-olah mereka belum pernah berdiam di tempat itu. Ingatlah, kebinasaanlah bagi penduduk Mad-yan sebagaimana kaum Tsamud telah binasa.

EN Translation as though they had never lived there. Oh, away with [the people of] Madyan, even as the Thamud have been done away with!

وَلَقَدْ اَرْسَلْنَا مُوْسٰى بِاٰيٰتِنَا وَسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِيْنٍۙ ٩٦

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah mengutus Musa dengan tanda-tanda (kekuasaan) Kami dan mukjizat yang nyata,

EN Translation AND, INDEED, We sent Moses with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us]

اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ وَملَا۟ىِٕهٖ فَاتَّبَعُوْٓا اَمْرَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚوَمَآ اَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيْدٍ ٩٧

ID Translation kepada Fir'aun dan pemimpin-pemimpin kaumnya, tetapi mereka mengikut perintah Fir'aun, padahal perintah Fir'aun sekali-kali bukanlah (perintah) yang benar.

EN Translation unto Pharaoh and his great ones: but these followed [only] Pharaoh's bidding - and Pharaoh's bidding led by no means to what is right.

يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهٗ يَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِ فَاَوْرَدَهُمُ النَّارَ ۗوَبِئْسَ الْوِرْدُ الْمَوْرُوْدُ ٩٨

ID Translation Ia berjalan di muka kaumnya di hari kiamat lalu memasukkan mereka ke dalam neraka. Neraka itu seburuk-buruk tempat yang didatangi.

EN Translation [And so] he shall go before his people on the Day of Resurrection, having led them [in this world] towards the fire [of the life to come]; and vile was the destination towards which they were led -

وَاُتْبِعُوْا فِيْ هٰذِهٖ لَعْنَةً وَّيَوْمَ الْقِيٰمَةِۗ بِئْسَ الرِّفْدُ الْمَرْفُوْدُ ٩٩

ID Translation Dan mereka selalu diikuti dengan kutukan di dunia ini dan (begitu pula) di hari kiamat. La'nat itu seburuk-buruk pemberian yang diberikan.

EN Translation seeing that they were pursued by [God's] rejection in this [world], and [shall be finally overtaken by it] on the Day of Resurrection; [and] vile was the gift which they were given!

ذٰلِكَ مِنْ اَنْۢبَاۤءِ الْقُرٰى نَقُصُّهٗ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهَا قَاۤىِٕمٌ وَّحَصِيْدٌ ١٠٠

ID Translation Itu adalah sebahagian dan berita-berita negeri (yang telah dibinasakan) yang Kami ceritakan kepadamu (Muhammad); di antara negeri-negeri itu ada yang masih kedapatan bekas-bekasnya dan ada (pula) yang telah musnah.

EN Translation THIS ACCOUNT of the [fate of those ancient] communities - some of them still remaining, and some [extinct like] a field mown-down - We convey unto thee [as a lesson for mankind]:

وَمَا ظَلَمْنٰهُمْ وَلٰكِنْ ظَلَمُوْٓا اَنْفُسَهُمْ فَمَآ اَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ اٰلِهَتُهُمُ الَّتِيْ يَدْعُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ لَّمَّا جَاۤءَ اَمْرُ رَبِّكَۗ وَمَا زَادُوْهُمْ غَيْرَ تَتْبِيْبٍ ١٠١

ID Translation Dan Kami tidaklah menganiaya mereka tetapi merekalah yang menganiaya diri mereka sendiri, karena itu tiadalah bermanfaat sedikitpun kepada mereka sembahan-sembahan yang mereka seru selain Allah, di waktu azab Tuhanmu datang. Dan sembahan-sembahan itu tidaklah menambah kepada mereka kecuali kebinasaan belaka.

EN Translation for, no wrong did We do to them, but it was they who wronged themselves. And when thy Sustainer's judgment came to pass, those deities of theirs which they had been wont to invoke instead of God proved of no avail whatever to them, and brought them no more than utter perdition.

وَكَذٰلِكَ اَخْذُ رَبِّكَ اِذَآ اَخَذَ الْقُرٰى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ ۗاِنَّ اَخْذَهٗٓ اَلِيْمٌ شَدِيْدٌ ١٠٢

ID Translation Dan begitulah azab Tuhanmu, apabila Dia mengazab penduduk negeri-negeri yang berbuat zalim. Sesungguhnya azab-Nya itu adalah sangat pedih lagi keras.

EN Translation And such is thy Sustainer's punishing grasp whenever He takes to task any community that is given to evildoing: verily, His punishing grasp is grievous, severe!

اِنَّ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰيَةً لِّمَنْ خَافَ عَذَابَ الْاٰخِرَةِ ۗذٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوْعٌۙ لَّهُ النَّاسُ وَذٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّشْهُوْدٌ ١٠٣

ID Translation Sesungguhnya pada yang demikian itu benar-benar terdapat pelajaran bagi orang-orang yang takut kepada azab akhirat. Hari kiamat itu adalah suatu hari yang semua manusia dikumpulkan untuk (menghadapi)nya, dan hari itu adalah suatu hari yang disaksikan (oleh segala makhluk).

EN Translation Herein, behold, lies a message indeed for all who fear the suffering [which may befall them] in the life to come, (and are conscious of the coming of] that Day on which all mankind shall be gathered together-that Day [of Judgment] which shall be witnessed [by all that ever lived],

وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهٗٓ اِلَّا لِاَجَلٍ مَّعْدُوْدٍۗ ١٠٤

ID Translation Dan Kami tiadalah mengundurkannya, melainkan sampai waktu yang tertentu.

EN Translation and which We shall not delay beyond a term set [by Us].

يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لَا تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖۚ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِيٌّ وَّسَعِيْدٌ ١٠٥

ID Translation Di kala datang hari itu, tidak ada seorangun yang berbicara, melainkan dengan izin-Nya; maka di antara mereka ada yang celaka dan ada yang berbahagia.

EN Translation When that Day comes, not a soul will speak. unless it be by His leave; and of those [that are gathered together], some will be wretched and some, happy.

فَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ شَقُوْا فَفِى النَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا زَفِيْرٌ وَّشَهِيْقٌۙ ١٠٦

ID Translation Adapun orang-orang yang celaka, maka (tempatnya) di dalam neraka, di dalamnya mereka mengeluarkan dan menarik nafas (dengan merintih),

EN Translation Now as for those who [by their deeds] will have brought wretchedness upon them-selves, [they shall live] in the fire, where they will have [nothing but] moans and sobs [to relieve their pain],

خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَالْاَرْضُ اِلَّا مَا شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَۗ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ ١٠٧

ID Translation mereka kekal di dalamnya selama ada langit dan bumi, kecuali jika Tuhanmu menghendaki (yang lain). Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu Maha Pelaksana terhadap apa yang Dia kehendaki.

EN Translation therein to abide as long as the heavens and the earth endure-unless thy Sustainer wills it otherwise: for, verily, thy Sustainer is a sovereign doer of whatever He wills.

۞ وَاَمَّا الَّذِيْنَ سُعِدُوْا فَفِى الْجَنَّةِ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَالْاَرْضُ اِلَّا مَا شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَۗ عَطَاۤءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوْذٍ ١٠٨

ID Translation Adapun orang-orang yang berbahagia, maka tempatnya di dalam surga, mereka kekal di dalamnya selama ada langit dan bumi, kecuali jika Tuhanmu menghendaki (yang lain); sebagai karunia yang tiada putus-putusnya.

EN Translation But as for those who [by virtue of their past deeds] will have been blest with happiness, [they shall live] in paradise, therein to abide as long as the heavens and the earth endure -unless thy Sustainer wills it otherwise -as a gift unceasing.

فَلَا تَكُ فِيْ مِرْيَةٍ مِّمَّا يَعْبُدُ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ ۗمَا يَعْبُدُوْنَ اِلَّا كَمَا يَعْبُدُ اٰبَاۤؤُهُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلُ ۗوَاِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوْهُمْ نَصِيْبَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَنْقُوْصٍ ١٠٩

ID Translation Maka janganlah kamu berada dalam keragu-raguan tentang apa yang disembah oleh mereka. Mereka tidak menyembah melainkan sebagaimana nenek moyang mereka menyembah dahulu. Dan sesungguhnya Kami pasti akan menyempurnakan dengan secukup-cukupnya pembalasan (terhadap) mereka dengan tidak dikurangi sedikitpun.

EN Translation AND SO, [O Prophet,] be not in doubt about anything that those [misguided people] worship: they but [thoughtlessly] worship as their forefathers worshipped aforetime; and, behold, We shall most certainly give them their full due [for whatever good or evil they have earned], without diminishing aught thereof.

وَلَقَدْ اٰتَيْنَا مُوْسَى الْكِتٰبَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيْهِ ۗوَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚوَاِنَّهُمْ لَفِيْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيْبٍ ١١٠

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah memberikan Kitab (Taurat) kepada Musa, lalu diperselisihkan tentang Kitab itu. Dan seandainya tidak ada ketetapan yang telah terdahulu dari Tuhanmu, niscaya telah ditetapkan hukuman di antara mereka. Dan sesungguhnya mereka (orang-orang kafir Mekah) dalam keraguan yang menggelisahkan terhadap Al Quran.

EN Translation And, indeed, [similar was the case when] We vouchsafed the divine writ unto Moses, and some of his people set their own views against it; and had it not been for a decree that had already gone forth from thy Sustainer, judgment would indeed have been passed on them [then and there]: for, behold, they were in grave doubt, amounting to suspicion, about him [who called them unto God].

وَاِنَّ كُلًّا لَّمَّا لَيُوَفِّيَنَّهُمْ رَبُّكَ اَعْمَالَهُمْ ۗاِنَّهٗ بِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ خَبِيْرٌ ١١١

ID Translation Dan sesungguhnya kepada masing-masing (mereka yang berselisih itu) pasti Tuhanmu akan menyempurnakan dengan cukup, (balasan) pekerjaan mereka. Sesungguhnya Dia Maha Mengetahui apa yang mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation And, verily, unto each and all will thy Sustainer give their full due for whatever [good or evil] they may have done: behold, He is aware of all that they do!

فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ اُمِرْتَ وَمَنْ تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْاۗ اِنَّهٗ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ بَصِيْرٌ ١١٢

ID Translation Maka tetaplah kamu pada jalan yang benar, sebagaimana diperintahkan kepadamu dan (juga) orang yang telah taubat beserta kamu dan janganlah kamu melampaui batas. Sesungguhnya Dia Maha Melihat apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation Pursue, then, the right course, as thou hast been bidden [by God], together with all who, with thee, have turned unto Him; and let none of you behave in an overweening manner: for, verily, He sees all that you do.

وَلَا تَرْكَنُوْٓا اِلَى الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا فَتَمَسَّكُمُ النَّارُۙ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ مِنْ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنْصَرُوْنَ ١١٣

ID Translation Dan janganlah kamu cenderung kepada orang-orang yang zalim yang menyebabkan kamu disentuh api neraka, dan sekali-kali kamu tiada mempunyai seorang penolongpun selain daripada Allah, kemudian kamu tidak akan diberi pertolongan.

EN Translation And do not incline towards, nor rely upon, those who are bent on evildoing lest the fire [of the hereafter] touch you: for [then] you would have none to protect you from God, nor would you ever be succoured [by Him].

وَاَقِمِ الصَّلٰوةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ الَّيْلِ ۗاِنَّ الْحَسَنٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّاٰتِۗ ذٰلِكَ ذِكْرٰى لِلذَّاكِرِيْنَ ١١٤

ID Translation Dan dirikanlah sembahyang itu pada kedua tepi siang (pagi dan petang) dan pada bahagian permulaan daripada malam. Sesungguhnya perbuatan-perbuatan yang baik itu menghapuskan (dosa) perbuatan-perbuatan yang buruk. Itulah peringatan bagi orang-orang yang ingat.

EN Translation And be constant in praying at the beginning and the end of the day, as well as during the early watches of the night: for, verily, good deeds drive away evil deeds: this is a reminder to all who bear [God] in mind.

وَاصْبِرْ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُضِيْعُ اَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ١١٥

ID Translation Dan bersabarlah, karena sesungguhnya Allah tiada menyia-nyiakan pahala orang-orang yang berbuat kebaikan.

EN Translation And be patient in adversity: for, verily,. God does not fail to requite the doers of good!

فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ الْقُرُوْنِ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ اُولُوْا بَقِيَّةٍ يَّنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْفَسَادِ فِى الْاَرْضِ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا مِّمَّنْ اَنْجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۚوَاتَّبَعَ الَّذِيْنَ ظَلَمُوْا مَآ اُتْرِفُوْا فِيْهِ وَكَانُوْا مُجْرِمِيْنَ ١١٦

ID Translation Maka mengapa tidak ada dari umat-umat yang sebelum kamu orang-orang yang mempunyai keutamaan yang melarang daripada (mengerjakan) kerusakan di muka bumi, kecuali sebahagian kecil di antara orang-orang yang telah Kami selamatkan di antara mereka, dan orang-orang yang zalim hanya mementingkan kenikmatan yang mewah yang ada pada mereka, dan mereka adalah orang-orang yang berdosa.

EN Translation BUT, ALAS, among those generations [whom We destroyed] before your time there were no people endowed with any virtue - [people] who would speak out against the [spread of] corruption on earth -except the few of them whom We saved [because of their righteousness], whereas those who were bent on evildoing only pursued pleasures which corrupted their whole being, and so lost themselves in sinning.

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ الْقُرٰى بِظُلْمٍ وَّاَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُوْنَ ١١٧

ID Translation Dan Tuhanmu sekali-kali tidak akan membinasakan negeri-negeri secara zalim, sedang penduduknya orang-orang yang berbuat kebaikan.

EN Translation For, never would thy Sustainer destroy a community for wrong [beliefs alone] so long as its people behave righteously [towards one another].

وَلَوْ شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ اُمَّةً وَّاحِدَةً وَّلَا يَزَالُوْنَ مُخْتَلِفِيْنَۙ ١١٨

ID Translation Jikalau Tuhanmu menghendaki, tentu Dia menjadikan manusia umat yang satu, tetapi mereka senantiasa berselisih pendapat,

EN Translation And had thy Sustainer so willed, He could surely have made all mankind one single community: but [He willed it otherwise, and so] they continue to hold divergent views'

اِلَّا مَنْ رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ ۗوَلِذٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ ۗوَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَاَمْلَـَٔنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ ١١٩

ID Translation kecuali orang-orang yang diberi rahmat oleh Tuhanmu. Dan untuk itulah Allah menciptakan mereka. Kalimat Tuhanmu (keputusan-Nya) telah ditetapkan: sesungguhnya Aku akan memenuhi neraka Jahannam dengan jin dan manusia (yang durhaka) semuanya.

EN Translation [all of them,] save those upon whom thy Sustainer has bestowed His grace. And to this end has He created them [all. But [as for those who refuse to avail themselves of divine guidance,] that word of thy Sustainer shall be fulfilled: "Most certainly will I fill hell with invisible beings as well as with humans, all together!"

وَكُلًّا نَّقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ اَنْۢبَاۤءِ الرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهٖ فُؤَادَكَ وَجَاۤءَكَ فِيْ هٰذِهِ الْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَّذِكْرٰى لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ ١٢٠

ID Translation Dan semua kisah dari rasul-rasul Kami ceritakan kepadamu, ialah kisah-kisah yang dengannya Kami teguhkan hatimu; dan dalam surat ini telah datang kepadamu kebenaran serta pengajaran dan peringatan bagi orang-orang yang beriman.

EN Translation AND [remember:] out of all the accounts relating to the [earlier] apostles We convey unto thee [only] that wherewith We [aim to] make firm thy heart: for through these [accounts] comes the truth unto thee, as well as an admonition and a reminder unto all believers.

وَقُلْ لِّلَّذِيْنَ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ اعْمَلُوْا عَلٰى مَكَانَتِكُمْۗ اِنَّا عٰمِلُوْنَۙ ١٢١

ID Translation Dan katakanlah kepada orang-orang yang tidak beriman: "Berbuatlah menurut kemampuanmu; sesungguhnya Kami-pun berbuat (pula)".

EN Translation And say unto those who will not believe: "Do anything that may be within your power, [while] we, behold, shall labour [in God's way];

وَانْتَظِرُوْاۚ اِنَّا مُنْتَظِرُوْنَ ١٢٢

ID Translation Dan tunggulah (akibat perbuatanmu); sesungguhnya kamipun menunggu (pula)".

EN Translation and wait [for what is coming]: behold, we too are waiting!"

وَلِلّٰهِ غَيْبُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَاِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الْاَمْرُ كُلُّهٗ فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِۗ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٢٣

ID Translation Dan kepunyaan Allah-lah apa yang ghaib di langit dan di bumi dan kepada-Nya-lah dikembalikan urusan-urusan semuanya, maka sembahlah Dia, dan bertawakkallah kepada-Nya. Dan sekali-kali Tuhanmu tidak lalai dari apa yang kamu kerjakan.

EN Translation And God alone comprehends the hidden reality of the heavens and the earth: for, all that exists goes back to Him [as its source]. Worship Him, then, and place thy trust in Him alone: for thy Sustainer is not unaware of what you do.

الۤرٰ ۗ تِلْكَ اٰيٰتُ الْكِتٰبِ الْمُبِيْنِۗ ١

ID Translation Alif, laam, raa. Ini adalah ayat-ayat Kitab (Al Quran) yang nyata (dari Allah).

EN Translation Alif. Lam. Ra. THESE ARE MESSAGES of a revelation clear in itself and clearly showing the truth:

اِنَّآ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ قُرْاٰنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُوْنَ ٢

ID Translation Sesungguhnya Kami menurunkannya berupa Al Quran dengan berbahasa Arab, agar kamu memahaminya.

EN Translation behold, We have bestowed it from on high as a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason.

نَحْنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ اَحْسَنَ الْقَصَصِ بِمَآ اَوْحَيْنَآ اِلَيْكَ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنَۖ وَاِنْ كُنْتَ مِنْ قَبْلِهٖ لَمِنَ الْغٰفِلِيْنَ ٣

ID Translation Kami menceritakan kepadamu kisah yang paling baik dengan mewahyukan Al Quran ini kepadamu, dan sesungguhnya kamu sebelum (Kami mewahyukan)nya adalah termasuk orang-orang yang belum mengetahui.

EN Translation In the measure that We reveal this Qur'an unto thee, [O Prophet,] We explain it to thee in the best possible way, seeing that ere this thou wert indeed among those who are unaware [of what revelation is].

اِذْ قَالَ يُوْسُفُ لِاَبِيْهِ يٰٓاَبَتِ اِنِّيْ رَاَيْتُ اَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوْكَبًا وَّالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ رَاَيْتُهُمْ لِيْ سٰجِدِيْنَ ٤

ID Translation (Ingatlah), ketika Yusuf berkata kepada ayahnya: "Wahai ayahku, sesungguhnya aku bermimpi melihat sebelas bintang, matahari dan bulan; kulihat semuanya sujud kepadaku".

EN Translation LO! Thus spoke Joseph unto his father: "O my father! Behold, I saw [in a dream] eleven stars, as well as the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves before me!"

قَالَ يٰبُنَيَّ لَا تَقْصُصْ رُءْيَاكَ عَلٰٓى اِخْوَتِكَ فَيَكِيْدُوْا لَكَ كَيْدًا ۗاِنَّ الشَّيْطٰنَ لِلْاِنْسَانِ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيْنٌ ٥

ID Translation Ayahnya berkata: "Hai anakku, janganlah kamu ceritakan mimpimu itu kepada saudara-saudaramu, maka mereka membuat makar (untuk membinasakan)mu. Sesungguhnya syaitan itu adalah musuh yang nyata bagi manusia".

EN Translation [Jacob] replied: "O my dear son! Do not relate thy dream to thy brothers lest [out of envy] they devise an evil scheme against thee; verily, Satan is man's open foe!

وَكَذٰلِكَ يَجْتَبِيْكَ رَبُّكَ وَيُعَلِّمُكَ مِنْ تَأْوِيْلِ الْاَحَادِيْثِ وَيُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهٗ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلٰٓى اٰلِ يَعْقُوْبَ كَمَآ اَتَمَّهَا عَلٰٓى اَبَوَيْكَ مِنْ قَبْلُ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاِسْحٰقَۗ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ عَلِيْمٌ حَكِيْمٌ ٦

ID Translation Dan demikianlah Tuhanmu, memilih kamu (untuk menjadi Nabi) dan diajarkan-Nya kepadamu sebahagian dari ta'bir mimpi-mimpi dan disempurnakan-Nya nikmat-Nya kepadamu dan kepada keluarga Ya'qub, sebagaimana Dia telah menyempurnakan nikmat-Nya kepada dua orang bapakmu sebelum itu, (yaitu) Ibrahim dan Ishak. Sesungguhnya Tuhanmu Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Bijaksana.

EN Translation For, [as thou hast been shown in thy dream,] even thus will thy Sustainer elect thee, and will impart unto thee some understanding of the inner meaning of happenings, and will bestow the full measure of His blessings upon thee and upon the House of Jacob -even as, aforetime, He bestowed it in full measure upon thy forefathers Abraham and Isaac. Verily, thy Sustainer is all-knowing, wise!"

۞ لَقَدْ كَانَ فِيْ يُوْسُفَ وَاِخْوَتِهٖٓ اٰيٰتٌ لِّلسَّاۤىِٕلِيْنَ ٧

ID Translation Sesungguhnya ada beberapa tanda-tanda kekuasaan Allah pada (kisah) Yusuf dan saudara-saudaranya bagi orang-orang yang bertanya.

EN Translation Indeed, in [the story of] Joseph and his brothers there are messages for all who search [after truth].

اِذْ قَالُوْا لَيُوْسُفُ وَاَخُوْهُ اَحَبُّ اِلٰٓى اَبِيْنَا مِنَّا وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ ۗاِنَّ اَبَانَا لَفِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍۙ ٨

ID Translation (Yaitu) ketika mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya Yusuf dan saudara kandungnya (Bunyamin) lebih dicintai oleh ayah kita dari pada kita sendiri, padahal kita (ini) adalah satu golongan (yang kuat). Sesungguhnya ayah kita adalah dalam kekeliruan yang nyata.

EN Translation NOW [Joseph's brothers] spoke [thus to one another:] "Truly, Joseph and his brother [Benjamin] are dearer to our father than we, even though we are so many. Behold, our father is surely suffering from an aberration!"

ۨاقْتُلُوْا يُوْسُفَ اَوِ اطْرَحُوْهُ اَرْضًا يَّخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ اَبِيْكُمْ وَتَكُوْنُوْا مِنْۢ بَعْدِهٖ قَوْمًا صٰلِحِيْنَ ٩

ID Translation Bunuhlah Yusuf atau buanglah dia kesuatu daerah (yang tak dikenal) supaya perhatian ayahmu tertumpah kepadamu saja, dan sesudah itu hendaklah kamu menjadi orang-orang yang baik".

EN Translation [Said one of them:] "Slay Joseph, or else drive him away to some [faraway] land, so that your father's regard may be for you alone: and after this is done, you will be [free to repent and to live once again as] righteous people!"

قَالَ قَاۤئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ لَا تَقْتُلُوْا يُوْسُفَ وَاَلْقُوْهُ فِيْ غَيٰبَتِ الْجُبِّ يَلْتَقِطْهُ بَعْضُ السَّيَّارَةِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ فٰعِلِيْنَ ١٠

ID Translation Seorang diantara mereka berkata: "Janganlah kamu bunuh Yusuf, tetapi masukkanlah dia ke dasar sumur supaya dia dipungut oleh beberapa orang musafir, jika kamu hendak berbuat".

EN Translation Another of them said: "Do not slay Joseph, but -rather - if you must do something - cast him into the dark depths of this well, [whence] some caravan may pick him up."

قَالُوْا يٰٓاَبَانَا مَالَكَ لَا تَأْمَنَّ۫ا عَلٰى يُوْسُفَ وَاِنَّا لَهٗ لَنَاصِحُوْنَ ١١

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Wahai ayah kami, apa sebabnya kamu tidak mempercayai kami terhadap Yusuf, padahal sesungguhnya kami adalah orang-orang yang mengingini kebaikan baginya.

EN Translation [On this they agreed; and thereupon] they spoke [thus to their father]: "O our father! Wherefore wilt thou not trust us with Joseph, seeing that we are indeed his well-wishers?

اَرْسِلْهُ مَعَنَا غَدًا يَّرْتَعْ وَيَلْعَبْ وَاِنَّا لَهٗ لَحٰفِظُوْنَ ١٢

ID Translation Biarkanlah dia pergi bersama kami besok pagi, agar dia (dapat) bersenang-senang dan (dapat) bermain-main, dan sesungguhnya kami pasti menjaganya".

EN Translation Let him go out with us tomorrow, that he may enjoy himself and play: and, verily, we shall guard him well!"

قَالَ اِنِّيْ لَيَحْزُنُنِيْٓ اَنْ تَذْهَبُوْا بِهٖ وَاَخَافُ اَنْ يَّأْكُلَهُ الذِّئْبُ وَاَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ غٰفِلُوْنَ ١٣

ID Translation Berkata Ya'qub: "Sesungguhnya kepergian kamu bersama Yusuf amat menyedihkanku dan aku khawatir kalau-kalau dia dimakan serigala, sedang kamu lengah dari padanya".

EN Translation [Jacob] answered: "Behold, it grieves me indeed [to think] that you might take him with you, for I dread lest the wolf devour him at a moment when you are heedless of him!"

قَالُوْا لَىِٕنْ اَكَلَهُ الذِّئْبُ وَنَحْنُ عُصْبَةٌ اِنَّآ اِذًا لَّخٰسِرُوْنَ ١٤

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Jika ia benar-benar dimakan serigala, sedang kami golongan (yang kuat), sesungguhnya kami kalau demikian adalah orang-orang yang merugi".

EN Translation Said they: "Surely, if the wolf were to devour him notwithstanding that we are so many-then, behold, we ought ourselves to perish!"

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبُوْا بِهٖ وَاَجْمَعُوْٓا اَنْ يَّجْعَلُوْهُ فِيْ غَيٰبَتِ الْجُبِّۚ وَاَوْحَيْنَآ اِلَيْهِ لَتُنَبِّئَنَّهُمْ بِاَمْرِهِمْ هٰذَا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُوْنَ ١٥

ID Translation Maka tatkala mereka membawanya dan sepakat memasukkannya ke dasar sumur (lalu mereka masukkan dia), dan (di waktu dia sudah dalam sumur) Kami wahyukan kepada Yusuf: "Sesungguhnya kamu akan menceritakan kepada mereka perbuatan mereka ini, sedang mereka tiada ingat lagi".

EN Translation And so, when they went away with him, they decided to cast him into the dark depths of the well. And We revealed [this] unto him: "Thou wilt yet remind them of this their deed at a time when they shall not perceive [who thou art]!"

وَجَاۤءُوْٓ اَبَاهُمْ عِشَاۤءً يَّبْكُوْنَۗ ١٦

ID Translation Kemudian mereka datang kepada ayah mereka di sore hari sambil menangis.

EN Translation And at nightfall they came to their father, weeping,

قَالُوْا يٰٓاَبَانَآ اِنَّا ذَهَبْنَا نَسْتَبِقُ وَتَرَكْنَا يُوْسُفَ عِنْدَ مَتَاعِنَا فَاَكَلَهُ الذِّئْبُۚ وَمَآ اَنْتَ بِمُؤْمِنٍ لَّنَا وَلَوْ كُنَّا صٰدِقِيْنَ ١٧

ID Translation Mereka berkata: "Wahai ayah kami, sesungguhnya kami pergi berlomba-lomba dan kami tinggalkan Yusuf di dekat barang-barang kami, lalu dia dimakan serigala; dan kamu sekali-kali tidak akan percaya kepada kami, sekalipun kami adalah orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation [and] said: "O our father! Behold, we went off racing with one another, and left Joseph behind with our things; and thereupon the wolf devoured him! But [we know that] thou wouldst not believe us even though we speak the truth" -

وَجَاۤءُوْ عَلٰى قَمِيْصِهٖ بِدَمٍ كَذِبٍۗ قَالَ بَلْ سَوَّلَتْ لَكُمْ اَنْفُسُكُمْ اَمْرًاۗ فَصَبْرٌ جَمِيْلٌ ۗوَاللّٰهُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلٰى مَا تَصِفُوْنَ ١٨

ID Translation Mereka datang membawa baju gamisnya (yang berlumuran) dengan darah palsu. Ya'qub berkata: "Sebenarnya dirimu sendirilah yang memandang baik perbuatan (yang buruk) itu; maka kesabaran yang baik itulah (kesabaranku). Dan Allah sajalah yang dimohon pertolongan-Nya terhadap apa yang kamu ceritakan".

EN Translation and they produced his tunic with false blood upon it. [But Jacob] exclaimed: "Nay, but it is your [own] minds that have made [so terrible] a happening seem a matter of little account to you! But [as for myself,] patience in adversity is most goodly [in the sight of God]; and it is to God [alone] that I pray to give me strength to bear the misfortune which you have described to me."

وَجَاۤءَتْ سَيَّارَةٌ فَاَرْسَلُوْا وَارِدَهُمْ فَاَدْلٰى دَلْوَهٗ ۗقَالَ يٰبُشْرٰى هٰذَا غُلٰمٌ ۗوَاَسَرُّوْهُ بِضَاعَةً ۗوَاللّٰهُ عَلِيْمٌ ۢبِمَا يَعْمَلُوْنَ ١٩

ID Translation Kemudian datanglah kelompok orang-orang musafir, lalu mereka menyuruh seorang pengambil air, maka dia menurunkan timbanya, dia berkata: "Oh; kabar gembira, ini seorang anak muda!" Kemudian mereka menyembunyikan dia sebagai barang dagangan. Dan Allah Maha Mengetahui apa yang mereka kerjakan.

EN Translation AND THERE CAME a caravan; and they sent forth their drawer of water, and he let down his bucket into the well - [and when he saw Joseph] he exclaimed: "Oh, what a lucky find, this boy!" And they hid him with a view to selling him: but God had full knowledge of all that they were doing.

وَشَرَوْهُ بِثَمَنٍۢ بَخْسٍ دَرَاهِمَ مَعْدُوْدَةٍ ۚوَكَانُوْا فِيْهِ مِنَ الزَّاهِدِيْنَ ٢٠

ID Translation Dan mereka menjual Yusuf dengan harga yang murah, yaitu beberapa dirham saja, dan mereka merasa tidak tertarik hatinya kepada Yusuf.

EN Translation And they sold him for a paltry price - a mere few silver coins: thus low did they value him.

وَقَالَ الَّذِى اشْتَرٰىهُ مِنْ مِّصْرَ لِامْرَاَتِهٖٓ اَكْرِمِيْ مَثْوٰىهُ عَسٰىٓ اَنْ يَّنْفَعَنَآ اَوْ نَتَّخِذَهٗ وَلَدًا ۗوَكَذٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوْسُفَ فِى الْاَرْضِۖ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهٗ مِنْ تَأْوِيْلِ الْاَحَادِيْثِۗ وَاللّٰهُ غَالِبٌ عَلٰٓى اَمْرِهٖ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٢١

ID Translation Dan orang Mesir yang membelinya berkata kepada isterinya: "Berikanlah kepadanya tempat (dan layanan) yang baik, boleh jadi dia bermanfaat kepada kita atau kita pungut dia sebagai anak". Dan demikian pulalah Kami memberikan kedudukan yang baik kepada Yusuf di muka bumi (Mesir), dan agar Kami ajarkan kepadanya ta'bir mimpi. Dan Allah berkuasa terhadap urusan-Nya, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tiada mengetahuinya.

EN Translation And the man from Egypt who bought him said to his wife: "Make his stay [with us] honourable; he may well be of use to us, or we may adopt him as a son. And thus We gave unto Joseph a firm place on earth; and [We did this] so that We might impart unto him some understanding of the inner meaning of happenings. For, God always prevails in whatever be His purpose: but most people know it not.

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّهٗٓ اٰتَيْنٰهُ حُكْمًا وَّعِلْمًا ۗوَكَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِى الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ٢٢

ID Translation Dan tatkala dia cukup dewasa Kami berikan kepadanya hikmah dan ilmu. Demikianlah Kami memberi balasan kepada orang-orang yang berbuat baik.

EN Translation And when he reached full manhood, We bestowed upon him the ability to judge [between right and wrong], as well as [innate] knowledge: for thus do We reward the doers of good.

وَرَاوَدَتْهُ الَّتِيْ هُوَ فِيْ بَيْتِهَا عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖ وَغَلَّقَتِ الْاَبْوَابَ وَقَالَتْ هَيْتَ لَكَ ۗقَالَ مَعَاذَ اللّٰهِ اِنَّهٗ رَبِّيْٓ اَحْسَنَ مَثْوَايَۗ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ ٢٣

ID Translation Dan wanita (Zulaikha) yang Yusuf tinggal di rumahnya menggoda Yusuf untuk menundukkan dirinya (kepadanya) dan dia menutup pintu-pintu, seraya berkata: "Marilah ke sini". Yusuf berkata: "Aku berlindung kepada Allah, sungguh tuanku telah memperlakukan aku dengan baik". Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang zalim tiada akan beruntung.

EN Translation And [it so happened that] she in whose house he was living [conceived a passion for him and] sought to make him yield himself unto her; and she bolted the doors and said, "Come thou unto me!" [But Joseph] answered: "May God preserve me! Behold, goodly has my master made my stay [in this house]! Verily, to no good end come they that do [such] wrong!"

وَلَقَدْ هَمَّتْ بِهٖۙ وَهَمَّ بِهَا ۚ لَوْلَآ اَنْ رَّاٰى بُرْهَانَ رَبِّهٖۗ كَذٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوْۤءَ وَالْفَحْشَاۤءَۗ اِنَّهٗ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِيْنَ ٢٤

ID Translation Sesungguhnya wanita itu telah bermaksud (melakukan perbuatan itu) dengan Yusuf, dan Yusufpun bermaksud (melakukan pula) dengan wanita itu andaikata dia tidak melihat tanda (dari) Tuhannya. Demikianlah, agar Kami memalingkan dari padanya kemungkaran dan kekejian. Sesungguhnya Yusuf itu termasuk hamba-hamba Kami yang terpilih.

EN Translation And, indeed, she desired him, and he desired her; [and he would have succumbed] had he not seen [in this temptation] an evidence of his Sustainer's truth: thus [We willed it to be] in order that We might avert from him all evil and all deeds of abomination -for, behold, he was truly one of Our servants.

وَاسْتَبَقَا الْبَابَ وَقَدَّتْ قَمِيْصَهٗ مِنْ دُبُرٍ وَّاَلْفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَا الْبَابِۗ قَالَتْ مَا جَزَاۤءُ مَنْ اَرَادَ بِاَهْلِكَ سُوْۤءًا اِلَّآ اَنْ يُّسْجَنَ اَوْ عَذَابٌ اَلِيْمٌ ٢٥

ID Translation Dan keduanya berlomba-lomba menuju pintu dan wanita itu menarik baju gamis Yusuf dari belakang hingga koyak dan kedua-duanya mendapati suami wanita itu di muka pintu. Wanita itu berkata: "Apakah pembalasan terhadap orang yang bermaksud berbuat serong dengan isterimu, selain dipenjarakan atau (dihukum) dengan azab yang pedih?"

EN Translation And they both rushed to the door; and she [grasped and] rent his tunic from behind-and [lo!] they met her lord at the door! Said she: "What ought to be the punishment of one who had evil designs on [the virtue of] thy wife - [what] but imprisonment or a [yet more] grievous chastisement?"

قَالَ هِيَ رَاوَدَتْنِيْ عَنْ نَّفْسِيْ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْ اَهْلِهَاۚ اِنْ كَانَ قَمِيْصُهٗ قُدَّ مِنْ قُبُلٍ فَصَدَقَتْ وَهُوَ مِنَ الْكٰذِبِيْنَ ٢٦

ID Translation Yusuf berkata: "Dia menggodaku untuk menundukkan diriku (kepadanya)", dan seorang saksi dari keluarga wanita itu memberikan kesaksiannya: "Jika baju gamisnya koyak di muka, maka wanita itu benar dan Yusuf termasuk orang-orang yang dusta.

EN Translation [Joseph] exclaimed: "It was she who sought to make me yield myself unto her!" Now one of those present, a member of her own household, suggested this: If his tunic has been torn from the front, then she is telling the truth, and he is a liar;

وَاِنْ كَانَ قَمِيْصُهٗ قُدَّ مِنْ دُبُرٍ فَكَذَبَتْ وَهُوَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٢٧

ID Translation Dan jika baju gamisnya koyak di belakang, maka wanita itulah yang dusta, dan Yusuf termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation but if his tunic has been torn from behind, then she is lying, and he is speaking the truth."

فَلَمَّا رَاٰى قَمِيْصَهٗ قُدَّ مِنْ دُبُرٍ قَالَ اِنَّهٗ مِنْ كَيْدِكُنَّ ۗاِنَّ كَيْدَكُنَّ عَظِيْمٌ ٢٨

ID Translation Maka tatkala suami wanita itu melihat baju gamis Yusuf koyak di belakang berkatalah dia: "Sesungguhnya (kejadian) itu adalah diantara tipu daya kamu, sesungguhnya tipu daya kamu adalah besar".

EN Translation And when (her husband] saw that his tunic was torn from behind, he said: "Behold, this is [an instance] of your guile, O womankind! Verily, awesome is your guile!

يُوْسُفُ اَعْرِضْ عَنْ هٰذَا وَاسْتَغْفِرِيْ لِذَنْۢبِكِۖ اِنَّكِ كُنْتِ مِنَ الْخٰطِـِٕيْنَ ٢٩

ID Translation (Hai) Yusuf: "Berpalinglah dari ini, dan (kamu hai isteriku) mohon ampunlah atas dosamu itu, karena kamu sesungguhnya termasuk orang-orang yang berbuat salah".

EN Translation [But,] Joseph, let this pass! And thou, [O wife,] ask forgiveness for thy sin-for, verily, thou hast been greatly at fault!"

۞ وَقَالَ نِسْوَةٌ فِى الْمَدِيْنَةِ امْرَاَتُ الْعَزِيْزِ تُرَاوِدُ فَتٰىهَا عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖۚ قَدْ شَغَفَهَا حُبًّاۗ اِنَّا لَنَرٰىهَا فِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ ٣٠

ID Translation Dan wanita-wanita di kota berkata: "Isteri Al Aziz menggoda bujangnya untuk menundukkan dirinya (kepadanya), sesungguhnya cintanya kepada bujangnya itu adalah sangat mendalam. Sesungguhnya kami memandangnya dalam kesesatan yang nyata".

EN Translation NOW the women of the city spoke [thus to one another]: "The wife of this nobleman is trying to induce her slave-boy to yield himself unto her! Her love for him has pierced her heart; verily, we see that she is undoubtedly suffering from an aberration!

فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتْ بِمَكْرِهِنَّ اَرْسَلَتْ اِلَيْهِنَّ وَاَعْتَدَتْ لَهُنَّ مُتَّكَاً وَّاٰتَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِّنْهُنَّ سِكِّيْنًا وَّقَالَتِ اخْرُجْ عَلَيْهِنَّ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَاَيْنَهٗٓ اَكْبَرْنَهٗ وَقَطَّعْنَ اَيْدِيَهُنَّۖ وَقُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلّٰهِ مَا هٰذَا بَشَرًاۗ اِنْ هٰذَآ اِلَّا مَلَكٌ كَرِيْمٌ ٣١

ID Translation Maka tatkala wanita itu (Zulaikha) mendengar cercaan mereka, diundangnyalah wanita-wanita itu dan disediakannya bagi mereka tempat duduk, dan diberikannya kepada masing-masing mereka sebuah pisau (untuk memotong jamuan), kemudian dia berkata (kepada Yusuf): "Keluarlah (nampakkanlah dirimu) kepada mereka". Maka tatkala wanita-wanita itu melihatnya, mereka kagum kepada (keelokan rupa)nya, dan mereka melukai (jari) tangannya dan berkata: "Maha sempurna Allah, ini bukanlah manusia. Sesungguhnya ini tidak lain hanyalah malaikat yang mulia".

EN Translation Thereupon, when she heard of their malicious talk, she sent for them, and prepared for them a sumptuous repast, and handed each of them a knife and said [to Joseph]: "Come out and show thyself to them!" And when the women saw him, they were greatly amazed at his beauty, and [so flustered were they that] they cut their hands [with their knives], exclaiming, "God save us! This is no mortal man! This is nought but a noble angel!"

قَالَتْ فَذٰلِكُنَّ الَّذِيْ لُمْتُنَّنِيْ فِيْهِ ۗوَلَقَدْ رَاوَدْتُّهٗ عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖ فَاسْتَعْصَمَ ۗوَلَىِٕنْ لَّمْ يَفْعَلْ مَآ اٰمُرُهٗ لَيُسْجَنَنَّ وَلَيَكُوْنًا مِّنَ الصّٰغِرِيْنَ ٣٢

ID Translation Wanita itu berkata: "Itulah dia orang yang kamu cela aku karena (tertarik) kepadanya, dan sesungguhnya aku telah menggoda dia untuk menundukkan dirinya (kepadaku) akan tetapi dia menolak. Dan sesungguhnya jika dia tidak mentaati apa yang aku perintahkan kepadanya, niscaya dia akan dipenjarakan dan dia akan termasuk golongan orang-orang yang hina".

EN Translation Said she: "This, then, is he about whom you have been blaming me! And, indeed, I did try to make him yield himself unto me, but he remained chaste. Now, however, if he does not do what I bid him, he shall most certainly be imprisoned, and shall most certainly find himself among the despised!

قَالَ رَبِّ السِّجْنُ اَحَبُّ اِلَيَّ مِمَّا يَدْعُوْنَنِيْٓ اِلَيْهِ ۚوَاِلَّا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّيْ كَيْدَهُنَّ اَصْبُ اِلَيْهِنَّ وَاَكُنْ مِّنَ الْجٰهِلِيْنَ ٣٣

ID Translation Yusuf berkata: "Wahai Tuhanku, penjara lebih aku sukai daripada memenuhi ajakan mereka kepadaku. Dan jika tidak Engkau hindarkan dari padaku tipu daya mereka, tentu aku akan cenderung untuk (memenuhi keinginan mereka) dan tentulah aku termasuk orang-orang yang bodoh".

EN Translation Said he: "O my Sustainer! Prison is more desirable to me than [compliance with] what these women invite me to: for, unless Thou turn away their guile from me, I might yet yield to their allure and become one of those who are unaware [of right and wrong]."

فَاسْتَجَابَ لَهٗ رَبُّهٗ فَصَرَفَ عَنْهُ كَيْدَهُنَّ ۗاِنَّهٗ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ ٣٤

ID Translation Maka Tuhannya memperkenankan doa Yusuf dan Dia menghindarkan Yusuf dari tipu daya mereka. Sesungguhnya Dialah Yang Maha Mendengar lagi Maha Mengetahui.

EN Translation And his Sustainer responded to his prayer, and freed him from the threat of their guile: verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing.

ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُمْ مِّنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا رَاَوُا الْاٰيٰتِ لَيَسْجُنُنَّهٗ حَتّٰى حِيْنٍ ٣٥

ID Translation Kemudian timbul pikiran pada mereka setelah melihat tanda-tanda (kebenaran Yusuf) bahwa mereka harus memenjarakannya sampai sesuatu waktu.

EN Translation For, presently it occurred to the nobleman and his household _ [even] after they had seen all the signs [of Joseph's innocence] - that they might as well imprison him for a time.

وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ السِّجْنَ فَتَيٰنِ ۗقَالَ اَحَدُهُمَآ اِنِّيْٓ اَرٰىنِيْٓ اَعْصِرُ خَمْرًا ۚوَقَالَ الْاٰخَرُ اِنِّيْٓ اَرٰىنِيْٓ اَحْمِلُ فَوْقَ رَأْسِيْ خُبْزًا تَأْكُلُ الطَّيْرُ مِنْهُ ۗنَبِّئْنَا بِتَأْوِيْلِهٖ ۚاِنَّا نَرٰىكَ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ ٣٦

ID Translation Dan bersama dengan dia masuk pula ke dalam penjara dua orang pemuda. Berkatalah salah seorang diantara keduanya: "Sesungguhnya aku bermimpi, bahwa aku memeras anggur". Dan yang lainnya berkata: "Sesungguhnya aku bermimpi, bahwa aku membawa roti di atas kepalaku, sebahagiannya dimakan burung". Berikanlah kepada kami ta'birnya; sesungguhnya kami memandang kamu termasuk orang-orang yang pandai (mena'birkan mimpi).

EN Translation NOW two young men happened to go to prison at the same time as Joseph. One of them said: "Behold, I saw myself [in a dream] pressing wine." And the other said: "Behold, I saw myself [in a dream] carrying bread on my head, and birds were eating thereof." [And both entreated Joseph:] "Let us know the real meaning of this! Verily, we see that thou art one of those who know well [how to interpret dreams].

قَالَ لَا يَأْتِيْكُمَا طَعَامٌ تُرْزَقٰنِهٖٓ اِلَّا نَبَّأْتُكُمَا بِتَأْوِيْلِهٖ قَبْلَ اَنْ يَّأْتِيَكُمَا ۗذٰلِكُمَا مِمَّا عَلَّمَنِيْ رَبِّيْۗ اِنِّيْ تَرَكْتُ مِلَّةَ قَوْمٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَهُمْ بِالْاٰخِرَةِ هُمْ كٰفِرُوْنَۙ ٣٧

ID Translation Yusuf berkata: "Tidak disampaikan kepada kamu berdua makanan yang akan diberikan kepadamu melainkan aku telah dapat menerangkan jenis makanan itu, sebelum makanan itu sampai kepadamu. Yang demikian itu adalah sebagian dari apa yang diajarkan kepadaku oleh Tuhanku. Sesungguhnya aku telah meninggalkan agama orang-orang yang tidak beriman kepada Allah, sedang mereka ingkar kepada hari kemudian.

EN Translation [Joseph] answered: "Ere there comes unto you the meal which you are [daily] fed, I shall have informed you of the real meaning of your dreams, [so that you might know what is to come] before it comes unto you: for this is [part] of the knowledge which my Sustainer has imparted to me. "Behold, I have left behind me the ways of people who do not believe in God, and who persistently refuse to acknowledge the truth of the life to come;

وَاتَّبَعْتُ مِلَّةَ اٰبَاۤءِيْٓ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَاِسْحٰقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَۗ مَا كَانَ لَنَآ اَنْ نُّشْرِكَ بِاللّٰهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍۗ ذٰلِكَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى النَّاسِ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ ٣٨

ID Translation Dan aku pengikut agama bapak-bapakku yaitu Ibrahim, Ishak dan Ya'qub. Tiadalah patut bagi kami (para Nabi) mempersekutukan sesuatu apapun dengan Allah. Yang demikian itu adalah dari karunia Allah kepada kami dan kepada manusia (seluruhnya); tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mensyukuri (Nya).

EN Translation and I follow the creed of my forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It is not conceivable that we should [be allowed to] ascribe divinity to aught beside God: this is [an outcome] of God's bounty unto us and unto all mankind -but most people are ungrateful.

يٰصَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ ءَاَرْبَابٌ مُتَفَرِّقُوْنَ خَيْرٌ اَمِ اللّٰهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُۗ ٣٩

ID Translation Hai kedua penghuni penjara, manakah yang baik, tuhan-tuhan yang bermacam-macam itu ataukah Allah Yang Maha Esa lagi Maha Perkasa?

EN Translation "O my companions in imprisonment! Which is more reasonable: [belief in the existence of numerous divine] lords, each of them different from the other" -or [in] the One God, who holds absolute sway over all that exists?

مَا تَعْبُدُوْنَ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖٓ اِلَّآ اَسْمَاۤءً سَمَّيْتُمُوْهَآ اَنْتُمْ وَاٰبَاۤؤُكُمْ مَّآ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطٰنٍۗ اِنِ الْحُكْمُ اِلَّا لِلّٰهِ ۗاَمَرَ اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّآ اِيَّاهُ ۗذٰلِكَ الدِّيْنُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٤٠

ID Translation Kamu tidak menyembah yang selain Allah kecuali hanya (menyembah) nama-nama yang kamu dan nenek moyangmu membuat-buatnya. Allah tidak menurunkan suatu keteranganpun tentang nama-nama itu. Keputusan itu hanyalah kepunyaan Allah. Dia telah memerintahkan agar kamu tidak menyembah selain Dia. Itulah agama yang lurus, tetapi kebanyakan manusia tidak mengetahui".

EN Translation "All that you worship instead of God is nothing but [empty] names which you have invented - you and your forefathers- [and] for which God has bestowed no warrant from on high. Judgment [as to what is right and what is wrong] rests with God alone-[and] He has ordained that you should worship nought but Him: this is the [one] ever-true faith; but most people know it not

يٰصَاحِبَيِ السِّجْنِ اَمَّآ اَحَدُكُمَا فَيَسْقِيْ رَبَّهٗ خَمْرًا ۗوَاَمَّا الْاٰخَرُ فَيُصْلَبُ فَتَأْكُلُ الطَّيْرُ مِنْ رَّأْسِهٖ ۗ قُضِيَ الْاَمْرُ الَّذِيْ فِيْهِ تَسْتَفْتِيٰنِۗ ٤١

ID Translation Hai kedua penghuni penjara: "Adapun salah seorang diantara kamu berdua, akan memberi minuman tuannya dengan khamar; adapun yang seorang lagi maka ia akan disalib, lalu burung memakan sebagian dari kepalanya. Telah diputuskan perkara yang kamu berdua menanyakannya (kepadaku)".

EN Translation "[And now,] O my companions in imprisonment, [I shall tell you the meaning of your dreams:] as for one of you two, he will [again] give his lord [the King] wine to drink; but as for the other, he will be crucified, and birds will eat off his head. [But whatever be your future,] the matter on which you have asked me to enlighten you has been decided [by God]."

وَقَالَ لِلَّذِيْ ظَنَّ اَنَّهٗ نَاجٍ مِّنْهُمَا اذْكُرْنِيْ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَۖ فَاَنْسٰىهُ الشَّيْطٰنُ ذِكْرَ رَبِّهٖ فَلَبِثَ فِى السِّجْنِ بِضْعَ سِنِيْنَ ٤٢

ID Translation Dan Yusuf berkata kepada orang yang diketahuinya akan selamat diantara mereka berdua: "Terangkanlah keadaanku kepada tuanmu". Maka syaitan menjadikan dia lupa menerangkan (keadaan Yusuf) kepada tuannya. Karena itu tetaplah dia (Yusuf) dalam penjara beberapa tahun lamanya.

EN Translation And [thereupon Joseph] said unto the one of the two whom he considered saved: "Mention me unto thy lord [when thou art free]!" But Satan caused him to forget to mention [Joseph] to his lord, and so he remained in prison a few [more] years.

وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ اِنِّيْٓ اَرٰى سَبْعَ بَقَرٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَّأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَّسَبْعَ سُنْۢبُلٰتٍ خُضْرٍ وَّاُخَرَ يٰبِسٰتٍۗ يٰٓاَيُّهَا الْمَلَاُ اَفْتُوْنِيْ فِيْ رُؤْيَايَ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ لِلرُّءْيَا تَعْبُرُوْنَ ٤٣

ID Translation Raja berkata (kepada orang-orang terkemuka dari kaumnya): "Sesungguhnya aku bermimpi melihat tujuh ekor sapi betina yang gemuk-gemuk dimakan oleh tujuh ekor sapi betina yang kurus-kurus dan tujuh bulir (gandum) yang hijau dan tujuh bulir lainnya yang kering". Hai orang-orang yang terkemuka: "Terangkanlah kepadaku tentang ta'bir mimpiku itu jika kamu dapat mena'birkan mimpi".

EN Translation AND [one day] the King said: Behold, I saw [in a dream] seven fat cows being devoured by seven emaciated ones, and seven green ears [of wheat] next to [seven] others that were withered. O you nobles! Enlighten me about [the meaning of] my dream, if you are able to interpret dreams!"

قَالُوْٓا اَضْغَاثُ اَحْلَامٍ ۚوَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَأْوِيْلِ الْاَحْلَامِ بِعٰلِمِيْنَ ٤٤

ID Translation Mereka menjawab: "(Itu) adalah mimpi-mimpi yang kosong dan kami sekali-kali tidak tahu menta'birkan mimpi itu".

EN Translation They answered: " [This is one of] the most involved and confusing of dreams, and we have no deep knowledge of the real meaning of dreams."

وَقَالَ الَّذِيْ نَجَا مِنْهُمَا وَادَّكَرَ بَعْدَ اُمَّةٍ اَنَا۠ اُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِتَأْوِيْلِهٖ فَاَرْسِلُوْنِ ٤٥

ID Translation Dan berkatalah orang yang selamat diantara mereka berdua dan teringat (kepada Yusuf) sesudah beberapa waktu lamanya: "Aku akan memberitakan kepadamu tentang (orang yang pandai) mena'birkan mimpi itu, maka utuslah aku (kepadanya)".

EN Translation At that, the one of the two [erstwhile prisoners] who had been saved, and [who suddenly] remembered [Joseph] after all that time, spoke [thus]: "It is I who can inform you of the real meaning of this [dream]; so let me go [in search of it]."

يُوْسُفُ اَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيْقُ اَفْتِنَا فِيْ سَبْعِ بَقَرٰتٍ سِمَانٍ يَّأْكُلُهُنَّ سَبْعٌ عِجَافٌ وَّسَبْعِ سُنْۢبُلٰتٍ خُضْرٍ وَّاُخَرَ يٰبِسٰتٍۙ لَّعَلِّيْٓ اَرْجِعُ اِلَى النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُوْنَ ٤٦

ID Translation (Setelah pelayan itu berjumpa dengan Yusuf dia berseru): "Yusuf, hai orang yang amat dipercaya, terangkanlah kepada kami tentang tujuh ekor sapi betina yang gemuk-gemuk yang dimakan oleh tujuh ekor sapi betina yang kurus-kurus dan tujuh bulir (gandum) yang hijau dan (tujuh) lainnya yang kering agar aku kembali kepada orang-orang itu, agar mereka mengetahuinya".

EN Translation [And he went to see Joseph in the prison and said to him:] "Joseph, O thou truthful one! Enlighten us about [the meaning of a dream in which] seven fat cows were being devoured by seven emaciated ones, and seven green ears [of wheat appeared] next to [seven] others that were withered - so that I may return [with thy explanation] unto the people [of the court, and] that they may come to know [what manner of man thou art]!"

قَالَ تَزْرَعُوْنَ سَبْعَ سِنِيْنَ دَاَبًاۚ فَمَا حَصَدْتُّمْ فَذَرُوْهُ فِيْ سُنْۢبُلِهٖٓ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا مِّمَّا تَأْكُلُوْنَ ٤٧

ID Translation Yusuf berkata: "Supaya kamu bertanam tujuh tahun (lamanya) sebagaimana biasa; maka apa yang kamu tuai hendaklah kamu biarkan dibulirnya kecuali sedikit untuk kamu makan.

EN Translation [Joseph] replied: "You shall sow for seven years as usual; but let all [the grain] that you harvest remain [untouched] in its ear, excepting only a little, whereof you may eat:

ثُمَّ يَأْتِيْ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ سَبْعٌ شِدَادٌ يَّأْكُلْنَ مَا قَدَّمْتُمْ لَهُنَّ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا مِّمَّا تُحْصِنُوْنَ ٤٨

ID Translation Kemudian sesudah itu akan datang tujuh tahun yang amat sulit, yang menghabiskan apa yang kamu simpan untuk menghadapinya (tahun sulit), kecuali sedikit dari (bibit gandum) yang kamu simpan.

EN Translation for, after that [period of seven good years] there will come seven hard [years] which will devour all that you shall have laid up for them, excepting only a little of that which you shall have kept in store.

ثُمَّ يَأْتِيْ مِنْۢ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ عَامٌ فِيْهِ يُغَاثُ النَّاسُ وَفِيْهِ يَعْصِرُوْنَ ٤٩

ID Translation Kemudian setelah itu akan datang tahun yang padanya manusia diberi hujan (dengan cukup) dan dimasa itu mereka memeras anggur".

EN Translation And after that there will come a year in which the people will be delivered from all distress, and in which they will press [oil and wine as before]."

وَقَالَ الْمَلِكُ ائْتُوْنِيْ بِهٖ ۚفَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُ الرَّسُوْلُ قَالَ ارْجِعْ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَسْـَٔلْهُ مَا بَالُ النِّسْوَةِ الّٰتِيْ قَطَّعْنَ اَيْدِيَهُنَّ ۗاِنَّ رَبِّيْ بِكَيْدِهِنَّ عَلِيْمٌ ٥٠

ID Translation Raja berkata: "Bawalah dia kepadaku". Maka tatkala utusan itu datang kepada Yusuf, berkatalah Yusuf: "Kembalilah kepada tuanmu dan tanyakanlah kepadanya bagaimana halnya wanita-wanita yang telah melukai tangannya. Sesungguhnya Tuhanku, Maha Mengetahui tipu daya mereka".

EN Translation And [as soon as Joseph's interpretation. was conveyed to him,] the King said: "Bring him before me!" But when the [King's] messenger came unto him, [Joseph] said: "Go back to thy lord and ask him [first to find out the truth] about those women who cut their hands-for, behold, [until now it is] my Sustainer [alone who] has full knowledge of their guile!"

قَالَ مَا خَطْبُكُنَّ اِذْ رَاوَدْتُّنَّ يُوْسُفَ عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖۗ قُلْنَ حَاشَ لِلّٰهِ مَا عَلِمْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سُوْۤءٍ ۗقَالَتِ امْرَاَتُ الْعَزِيْزِ الْـٰٔنَ حَصْحَصَ الْحَقُّۖ اَنَا۠ رَاوَدْتُّهٗ عَنْ نَّفْسِهٖ وَاِنَّهٗ لَمِنَ الصّٰدِقِيْنَ ٥١

ID Translation Raja berkata (kepada wanita-wanita itu): "Bagaimana keadaanmu ketika kamu menggoda Yusuf untuk menundukkan dirinya (kepadamu)?" Mereka berkata: "Maha Sempurna Allah, kami tiada mengetahui sesuatu keburukan dari padanya". Berkata isteri Al Aziz: "Sekarang jelaslah kebenaran itu, akulah yang menggodanya untuk menundukkan dirinya (kepadaku), dan sesungguhnya dia termasuk orang-orang yang benar".

EN Translation [Thereupon the King sent for those women; and when they came,] he asked: "What was it that you hoped to achieve when you sought to make Joseph yield himself unto you?" The women answered: "God save us! We did not perceive the least evil [intention] on his part!" [And] the wife of Joseph's former master exclaimed: "Now has the truth come to light! It was I who sought to make him yield himself unto me - whereas he, behold, was indeed speaking the truth!"

ذٰلِكَ لِيَعْلَمَ اَنِّيْ لَمْ اَخُنْهُ بِالْغَيْبِ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِيْ كَيْدَ الْخَاۤىِٕنِيْنَ ۔ ٥٢

ID Translation (Yusuf berkata): "Yang demikian itu agar dia (Al Aziz) mengetahui bahwa sesungguhnya aku tidak berkhianat kepadanya di belakangnya, dan bahwasanya Allah tidak meridhai tipu daya orang-orang yang berkhianat.

EN Translation [When Joseph learned what had happened, he said: "I asked for] this, so that [my former master] might know that I did not betray him behind his back, and that God does not bless with His guidance the artful schemes of those who betray their trust.
